i guess you could look down on her for trying to do too many things, and not all of them spectacularly well, but i can't help admire her for going out and simply doing the things she wants to do! i can't imagine a happier life :)

On one hand, I think she's spreading herself too thin but on the other, I admire the fact that she isn't really concerned with money. A lot of her cast mates are still milking BOF fame for sponsorship/CF money whereas she's hard at work tackling new projects, most of which will not be commercial successes.

She needs to take a break and scout around for a role worth watching. Or at least a project that people will buy into. Ever since BBF (I never liked her as Jandi anyway) she has done a plethora amount of works yet none of them hardly live up to their hypes.

I never liked her as Jandi either but I do wish her success in areas she's investing her time in. It takes guts to venture out & try something new.

Hmm I love BBF and watched twice, conclusion because of Lee MH. He is such adorable. Then after I watched KissMV Lee MH with Sandra Park, I felt the chemistry between them, I kept saying, it would be better if Sandra was the lead actress in BBF. Recently I watched Goong for the 3rd time, STILL Goong better than BBF because Gu Hye Su was not suitable for BBF. She seems wanted to do everything and looks like one scary "broad". I bet she dont date. She need to enjoy like, take things one at the time. Dont get greedy and get massy by doing everything at once. So, she couldnt focus on one thing. One day she will end-up waking up dont have anything in hand because everything was not excellent. She need to identified what she do best and focus on it. Others just an hobby and do it at extra times..... Ask her to read "Successful Time Management by Patrick Forsyth, The Sunday Times"...... before she woke up and realized everything too late and Korean is one country who do not appreciate woman after 30 yrs old. Unfortunately whenever GHS is mentioned the first thing that comes to mind was how much I did not enjoy her portrayal of Jandi. The weird faces she made, the screaming & yelling, the overacting, trying to act cute etc. etc. annoyed me to no end. I should look into her other projects to improve her image in my mind.

I totally agree I think she is not fitted to do Jandhi role..I don't think theres no chemistry with her and Minho at all..

If I was to cast the perfect Jandi would be young version of Eun Hye..I was thinking if the girl from Youre Beautiful was cast as Jandhi she would be perfect..

I think if she tried her hand at a more age appropriate role with better dialogues instead of the constant - "Yah! Goo Joon Pyo" - she kept repeating in the entire drama, I actually might be interested. I blame the writers for giving her such crappy and annoying lines in the drama.....~i want to give her the benefit of doubt

I think the girl from You're Beautiful, Park Shin Hye, was supposed to play Jandi but in the end, they cast GHS instead. Park Shin Hye wasn't chosen because they thought she looked too expensive (maybe they meant elite?)

Hi All, Seems like I am not the only one think the role as JanDi didnt fit GHS well. She was a bit fierce and not really acted innocent. I was thinking the same way as No. 15 Iwasing. Eun Hye is more character perfect for JanDi, she can be innocent and also naughty in cute way. JanDi version GHS was a bit "mature". Compared to Japanese Version, the lead actress really cute and she fit the age well. Anyway things done and I dont really look forward to watch the final episode. Hana Dori Final Episode was about both running around the world looking for Tiara and ended in the Island. So cute together. Lee Min Ho really plays well and potray Goo Yoon Pyo well. But same like you guys, I felt so annoyed each time JanDi said Yah! Goo Yoon Pyo.... she was not cute but really fierce. Man will run away.... Agreed, the picture is pretty and she undenial really pretty and one of the kind, she has a very nice complexion. Fair and pinkish. LOVE HER AS JANDI! She did a great job. There's a reason why the director picked her and I think that's because she looks like a commoner, not a face that says I'm rich or high class. Wish her to best!

I feel sorry for this girl, but I respect her hardwork. Like people said, she needs to focus on one thing first, don't be too greedy to get a title as 'multitalented'. In the long run, people will look at QUALITY not QUANTITY.

I think if she potray her character as JANDI in more 'intelligent' way, probably people will appreciate her other works more-now looks like she really depends on her fans for praise and appreciation.

when it comes to her next film, seeing the trailer of "the madonna" and AISFF in the youtube, as a neophyte in directing, i can see that she has the potential of becoming a good director.

When an actor/actress had been in a high-profile popular drama, people are always going to associate him/her to the role. GSH as Jandi pretty much ruined it for me. There is a thing called mis-cast. I hope she has more success in other fields. Maybe she'll do better directing than being on the other side of the camera.

I agree that jandi is not her really her best role, but she was good in other drama like 'The Kig and I' and ' Strongest Chilwoo'. and please, she's not greedy as u said. she IS enjoying her life right now, doing & trying what she want in her life. i admire she have the guts to try, not everyone really that brave enough on trying. if u said she'll wake up one day and see nothing in her hand because nothing is excellent, u got it wrong dear. i see it the other way round. many people wake up one day in their late life, regretting for not trying / doing what they really want while they still can (as in youth).

GHS actually said that her album and drawings are actually meant to be incorporated into her movie. So the score will be her composition and so on...i liked the ASIFF trailer. It managed to convey alot for me even though it was just 30s....thumbs up!

I agree with some people here...I think it's good that she's exploring all these things right now...she's what 25/26 right now? instead of flooding her schedule with CFs, dramas, and movies she's exploring her talents in drawing, writing, producing music, and directing. I think she's seeing what she is good at now and she's getting a better knowledge of what she is good at and what she needs to improve on.

I didn't really like her Jandi and I blame the whole produciton of BBF...they needed more time to film and create a better storyline or script that exaully made sense on it's own instead of catering to the audience and trying to fit in unnessary scenes/storyline.

overall I give Hye Sun props for not being afraid of doing what she love but I just hope for her to take her time and not rush these things...

I couldn’t agree more with you. She is probably talented. But she wasn’t fit for Jandi at all. She looks too old for Jandi and when she tried to act cute, I just couldn’t buy it. In BOF days, I didn’t really know PSH from You’re Beautiful. Even though I read somewhere that GHS & PSH were the finalists for Jandi role, I didn’t think much about PSH at that time. I was thinking more of Eun Hye. In real life, I think GHS and Eun Hye are similar age, right? I was like “if real age is not an issue, why didn’t they cast Eun Hye instead?” But now, I say “Shame on you, BOF Producers, for not choosing PSH!” PSH could make a great Jandi. I love her in You’re beautiful. Her cuteness is so believable for all 3 boys falling for her. In contrast, I just didn’t buy that F4 loves Jandi. Anyway, If PSH were Jandi in BOF, we wouldn’t probably have seen her as Go Mi Nam in YB. I love her as GMN and mostly, I love the chemistry between her and JGS in YB. So what BOF lost was what YB gains.
But I admire GHS as a person and an actress. I think she and Kim Bum are the ones who really step out of their BOF characters. They both move on new projects. (Actually, I want to see LMH stepping out of GJP image and starting on new project. No, I don’t mean CFs.) Obviously, she is a multi-talented person. But she is not # 1 in any of the things that she is doing. But I wish her all the best.

I have one question. Is she even good at all the things she does except acting?? I mean, composing songs, drawing up an art exhibit, and now directing for the second time? I mean, one can't be THAT talented in everything. Is she so famous no matter what she does, she's rewarded?? I'm confused?? And dang, look at the bags under her eyes, she needs some rest...!!

I like Koo Hye Sun and I admire her for trying diferent things like: directing, writing, etc. Even though she's not a pro in any of these areas, it's still cool that she's interested in getting involved in other types of art besides acting.

As for 'Boys Over Flowers'...
She is not a bad actress, but she was terrible as Jandi. She had no chemistry with the actors, including Kim Hyun Joong and Lee Min Ho. I prefer Lee Min Jung (who played Jun Pyo's fiancee, Jae Kyung) she did a great job portraying her character and she had a great chemistry with Lee Min Ho. I was hoping that the korean version of HYD would change the plot and made Jun Pyo fall in love with Jae Kyung, it would be the highlight of the drama... the most charismatic and amazing couple :D. As for Koo Hye Sun's annoying Jandi and Hyun Joong's stiff and awkard Ji Hoo, they were both terrible and lacked charisma, so I wouldn't mind if they ended together. :/
Lee Min Ho's amazing Jun Pyo desearved someone as good as Min Jun's Jae Kyung.

it's good to know that she's doing things that she enjoys doing. u live only once so why would she want to close the door on these opportunties?

again, people are saying that they couldn't watch bof bcuz of her acting...BUT have you forgotten about kim hyun joon's acting?? i agree too that playing jandi wasn't her most memorable role. yes, her character was annoying at times but i thought jae kyung was too and so mostly jandi's parents. i blame it on the writing and the directing. i could go on with the flaws but won't.

ghs isn't a bad actress...i enjoyed watching her pure in heart. i'm not a big fan of long family dramas but pure in heart is one of my favorite dramas & it's bcuz she just didn't play a korean country girl from china...she was yang gukhwa. i also enjoyed watching her in the historical drama the king & i.

Yup, PSH was mentioned for the Jandi part. Actually thought they would go with either Go Ara or PSH.

Same with the Jung Pyo part. Jang Gang Seok was offered it, but he opted to do Beethoven Virus instead.

JGS and PSH are kinda mirrors in terms of career, and again their eventual pairing (plus that they are both spokesperson for Etude House) seemed inevitable. Kinda like YEH and Eric. It's going to happen, one fine day. :D

Watch her in Seo Dong Yo (Ballad of Suh Dong/Song of the Prince). She played a supporting role there (to Jo Hyun Jae and Lee Bo Young), but she was good and adorable in that drama. I felt bad for her character that she's not gonna end up with Seo Dong/Jang (Jo Hyun Jae's character). Shed a tear or two for her in fact, even prayed that she will not turn bad once she finds out that Jang/Seo Dong is not for her. Director/writer were good to her character, she turned out fine, even giving up her love with good grace.

I must really admit Taiwan version of BOF is far better than Korea one. Korea BOF is so much losuier interms of casting. Why put Ku Hye Sun as male actress when she overact!!! cant stand her looks also. Look so old as Jandi ... cannot believe korea has bad production drama though this is a prestige manga, why do u all guys anyhow copy/produce. Spoilt it.
