@Layla, there are a couple of taiwanese dramas like that; Mars, and ToGetHer. most of the time plucky and dumb seems to be the in thing for asian dramas, especially kdramas (why oh why do they always equate innocent and nieve with stupidity and thickheadedness?).
oh, and maybe the kdrama someday. its lead doesn't believe in love and shes quiet and somewhat withdrawn.
hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

@ Kender

I don't believe I delurked when you were chatting away in OT - so I can't welcome you back, since you're a sunbei - but it's nice to hear your voice again!

Have a fun and safe date tonight - love the fact that you're uber-excited, you should be! The pressure around dating these days obscures the fact that dating exists because it should bring the participants joy. And samsooki's exit strategy is well-devised, be prepared to follow it at the first sign of trouble/boredom.

As for "Team Park Gyu is ajumma-ish?? But..but..he’s so BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT. *Q* And last I checked, I was nowhere near ajumma status."

You're absolutely right, Team Park Kyu! members are not ajummas or necessarily ajumma-ish - I know lovenyc52 is an active member and she's a total baby - it was more the collective ajumma-like squealing that occurs whenever Team Park Kyu! is mentioned or there is a shout-out, or a new member joins (like me - I was totally late to the party). The Team Park Kyu! vibe, to me, is less fangirling but rather that we recognize Park Kyu (and Im Joo-hwan's impeccable portrayal) for all his beautiful perfection (borrowing your adjectives) because we know how rare that is.

@ Ana -"You should try watching ‘Hotel Rwanda’.I think that movie has the power to make anyone cry. It made a ’stony-hearted’ person like me so teary eyed that I couldn’t even pretend that I had gotten a sudden cold."

That is on my watch list but due to the subject matter will take some ammunition of courage before I undertake it. Also I always love Don Cheadle's performances so I know I have to watch it. It took me 3 years after Schindler's list came out before I watched it and I couldn't sleep for a week.

@ all4movies -

"So instead, I am delving into the cyberpunk world and discovering some really cool movies. Also rewatching stuff like Blade Runner and the Matrix trilogy. I’ve been having some really weird dreams lately."

Love both Blade Runner and Matrix but Blade Runner is one of my all time favorite films. Its one of those films no matter how many times its on TV I'll drop everything and watch it. I just love Rutger Hauer. He is such a hotass in that film. I wrote a college paper on blade runner for my sci-fi class. How geeky can I get?

Friday! Is it weird that I am having my second Christmas party tonight? Each year people around me try to beat the holiday rush earlier and earlier. If it keep going like like I'll have having Christmas parties in October!

Someone last week in OT mentioned Bold beautiful woman (TW drama, actually I think is China but in TW section if you are looking for it in Viikii) I checked it out and it was not too bad. It had the girl pretending to be a guy and the plot moved fairly quickly.

I have also been watching Hero (J-drama with Takuya Kimura). That man is just so addicting... the smile gets me every time. It helps that I feel like I can go all gooey eyed with Kimura without feeling like a pervert. But maybe fangirl-ism should have no age boundaries. :-)

#33, I watch Glee too. It's so awesome. I love Kurt... :-) .

Right now, I'm watching Atashinchi no Danshi.. Just wanna say.. OMG.. I found it so darn freakin' boring. Fell asleep on epi. 1. I'm more to Korean dramas, but wanna try some jdrama too (Nodame Cantabile is my favorite jdrama so far). I guess this time I picked the wrong one. However.... everytime I start watching a drama, no matter how bad it is, I always finish it.
That shows how much I love to watch Asian dramas :-)

@ Kender - I've had friends who've met through general interest sites *coughsoompicough* and then progressed to meeting offline and dating in RL, but not through an official dating website or anything. All the stories about eHarmony and such makes me feel like the only guys there are creepers. 0_o You'll have to keep us updated as how the date goes. :) Sadly, I think kdramas are starting to ruin me for any potential mates. No Hyung-taes or Sung-Joos on the horizon for me... *sniffles*

Re: ringtones...how is everyone getting them on their cellphones? Can I plug it up to my phone and "download" the ringtone file onto my cellphone? Sorry - I'm a little behind on these high-tech things. >__<;

The LSAT is in a few weeks, and it makes me want to crawl into a corner and cry. T_T I've been using dramabeans' recaps as a form of escape but the growing anxiety gives me pangs of guilt when I'm not using every minute to study. AHHH!

haha anyways, CHEERS to the weekend. and thank you JB for keeping me sane!

samsooki, k-girl, yfangirl, reese, nana and anyone else who gave recommendations, thank you! I've watched a couple of the dramas you're talking about, and i'll definitely check out the others

the suggestion of snow queen also brought to mind something. Whether its in this drama, or any, do you really believe that a character can be redeemed? Some of the time, yeah, I think that I do and that makes me love them even more because i know the journey they have taken to reach that point. But other times, I find it hard to forget how cruel or mean they had acted before and I never really forgive them. Even in snow queen, Bo Ra acts very mean-spiritedly, and even viciously, that my dislike of her kind of never really went away.

What do you guys think? Is there times when you're unable to forgive and forget the cruel things a character has done in the past?

wow i'm gone from OT to actually work *gasp!* and i come back to a whole bunch of topics!! let's see how fast i can type before my boss gets back from lunch.. im skippin out on the company lunch right now so i believe i am safe from prying eyes haha.

@35 Cathie - I only watched part of MG and couldn't stand it. I was very hesitant to start Autumn's Concerto because I am not a big Vanness fan, but my friends in OT were praising it quite a bit so i thought, heck why not? And i LOVE it. Yes, it has the typical cliches but it is done in such a way where i don't feel it drags at all. And it's short at a planned 13 episodes so I think we're safe from it dragging later on.

@38 Kender - have fun on your date tonight!! I know many people who met through dating sites and are now very happily married with kids. They keep trying to get me to do it, but I still haven't gotten the nerve to sign up hehe.

@46 ockoala - wow. i'm in almost all those groups.. Haven't gotten into Smile or Chuno yet, but I'm sure it'll come in time. TWCM - haha!! i think i only have called 2 as MINE!! - Mark Chao and TOP hehe.. And yes, I am totally and utterly Team Park Kyu.. And I'll be 29 in a few months.. is that baby status? hehe.

@58 yenchan - i think your phone needs to come with some kind of program that allows file transfers from your computer to your phone. My crackberry has that and all i have to do is copy the file from my computer to my phone while it's plugged in and voila! new ringtones :)

@49 Cingdoc : you included me in your list of DB OT friends! Way to make me cry in the train!!! Wah, that was a beautiful post--this is indeed a special place. I've strong-armed a few friends into watching Kdrama, but they are in no way willing to analyze and (I think this is correct usage ??) *squee* to the extent I require. I need you guys for that! Thank goodness I found you. Nice to have all the subset groups to join, too : esp the conscience-calming ICOMYN club (with accompanying mantra: "he's legal, he's legal, he's legal").

Even in snow queen, Bo Ra acts very mean-spiritedly, and even viciously, that my dislike of her kind of never really went away

It's just my opinion, but I think that BoRa having moments where she is cruel or vicious is in line with her character. Look at what happened to her:

Being sick all of her life, forced again and again, countless times to be in the hospital, poked with needles, operations, examined like a piece of meat by strange doctors, having no privacy, always being afraid and alone all the time, completely losing out on a childhood. Abandoned by her mom, who didn't die like she was told, but ran away to be with another man. Lost her older brother at an early age as well. And so her home, growing up, was just her and her dad (who lost his wife to another man and who outlived his son)... and her one spark of life came in the form of a boy who ended up standing her up on the day that her oppa passed away...

Bora's character is a reflection of the harsh existence that she has had to deal with her whole life, and the effort it took for Bora to be redeemed by the gentle Tae-Woong, and vice versa, makes this drama totally worthwhile to watch, imo.

Hello all!

@ ockoala

I received my copy of Northern Lights the other day and will commence reading this weekend, hopefully.

@ all City Hallers

OMG. What a week. I don't think I got to bed before 2am each night watching CH after a very long day at work. I think I have about 3 episodes to go.

RE: Takeshi Kaneshiro and Tony Leung

I HEART both of these actors. It seems like eons ago when Tony Leung popped up on the HKdrama scene. I must admit, it has been awhile since I have seen anything these men have made. Kdramas have taken over a bit over the past 5 years :P

Happy Friday! I'm so glad it's the weekend! Real life has been crazy lately so am glad for some destress time. And that means one more day closer to Smile, You!!! Yay!!!

@langdon813
I agree w/others on Thank You. I thought it was Jang Hyuk's best work and he had improved so much since Story of a Bright Girl. Gong Hyo-jin is great and Seo Shin-ae is absolutely adorable! She has so much potential! I loved how even though it had a love story, at the heart of it was a human story. I was impressed at how well they (writer/director/etc) handled the issue of AIDS in the drama.

@ockoala
Can we also include non-ajummas to Chunojammas? Or have a sub-group? Like Kender, I'm not quite an ajumma yet, but I'm so looking forward to Chuno!

And yay for the Tony Leung love! I heart him! Seriously is my favorite actor hands down. And whoever said he's eyes talk...::sigh:: it's so true. Even if he isn't considered the most conventionally good looking actor, his acting abilities, charisma, and on-screen presence puts him leagues and leagues beyond anyone else. Red Cliff has been on my watch-list, will make a note to watch it soon!

Speaking of movies...I'm excited about Jeon Woo Chi with Kang Dong-wan and Im Su-jung. It looks like it'll be fun and am excited to see Im Su-jung back on the big screen.

Happy OT everyone!
I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! I will be spending it grateful for YB but sad its ended. Oh what is family going to do with me!
@cingdoc
Wow your acceptance speech was wonderful. And so very true.

@JB Thank you and I'm about to jump on that!

@samsooki Hilarious! My friend had those issues during BOF days. I would text her and "Almost Paradise" blasted on her desk. She said she would just look around like it wasn't her....seemed to work.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. And has anyone seen Lobbyist? I'm watching it now and I enjoy it but Harry gets the crap smacked out of him every other episode...Does this continue? And Tokyo Dogs I've dl eps 1-2, is anyone keeping up with this show? How is it fairing?

@Kender Haven't done the online thing but hope your experience is a good one. I know quite a few people that it has worked out really well for.

@ Kender, lovenyc52, Taohua

Anyone below the age of 30 is a baby in my eyes - if I'm your unni, then I'll baby you. ;-) Taohua - Chunojammas was a group introduced to me by the esteemed hjkomo (whom I adore inspite of our college blood feud), so I'll let her decide whether the sub-group Chunoagasshis should be created.

@ crzycpl

You're watching one of my favorite dramas and planning to start reading one of my favorite books - sigh, can I hang with you this weekend? I'm assuming from the "OMG" in your comment, and the fact that you're on a City Hall bender - that you are enjoying it? Three more episodes to go, huh? So, you're at the end of episode 17 when JG is k****ing before BB? That scene should be studied in acting 101 from both actors, IMO.

@59 Rin

Good luck studing for the LSAT! Not much I can impart, other than do more pratice tests. Time will be a critical factor.

Lastly, Psst: I'll be at a certain bakery early tomorrow morning feeding the ockoala babies.

And most importantly - I forgot to mention the one group every single person here is probably a member of - WLJB - We Love Javabeans!

You're such a sweetheart, that was a lovely post! I'm also very thankful for this place and for all of you guys! Being able to talk to people who don't think you're nuts for loving what you love is one of the best things in the world. This time last year I had not even heard of a Kdrama...I can't even believe that! And here I am now with 36 Kdramas under my belt (and counting)!

Now, if only someone could get me out of seeing New Moon tonight, I'd be even more thankful!

Is anyone watching don't hesitate? Somehow I've gotten caught up in this 100+ episode series. My friend won't even let me tell her about it in fear that she'll start getting into it. Sadly, I didn't realize until I was 20 episodes in that I had more than 3/4 to go.
Question: Is Tae woo the actor from 9E2O?
Also, (SPOILER ALERT!) If Min Young keeps up the drinking, he's going to need another liver by the end of the series, sheesh.

I thought I'd add some flavor to some TW dramas for fans in OT (JB always does this in her recaps, and it adds so much understanding and appreciation of the good writing in k-dramas).

Autumn Concerto - the English name of the drama is completely misleading - the Chinese title is Xia I Jan, Xin Fu or literal translation "Next Stop, Happiness" - referring to stops on a train or bus. Each episode is not numbered, rather episode 1 is "First Stop" and so on, we're now up to "Seventh Stop." I love this - the drama is about a journey, each stop represents another detour the couple must take, and the *Last Stop" when we get there, represents the eternal happiness we want Vanness and Ady to find together.

I'm very impressed with AC - and not just because Vanness took a 1 minute shower for us.

I think this trend started with Coffee Prince (each episode a"cup"), and Easy Fortune, Happy Life also went this route with each episode being titled "First Dose", "Second Dose", etc. (as the drama is about a chaebol of a Chinese medicinal company).

Re: Osamu Tezuka works

I forgot who asked last week when we discussed Princess Sapphire and Osamu Tezuka, but his works have begun to receive high quality re-print in the US, and I found Black Jack translated in such amazing quality (capturing both the medical terms and the biting wit of Tezuka), it's now on my Christmas want list (I bought Book 1 to check it out). Black Jack was Tezuka's most popular adult work, considered an epochal series, and this translation I found on Amazon on sale. The book jacket is sensational in its design.

btw, anyone watching Creating Destiny (w Eugene)? i'm beginning to really like it.. aLot!! (of course, not as much as YB)

@ nea:notoriousnoona
i just finished watching Tokyo Dogs e1 & liked it.. (i had just finished watching Mei-chan no Shitsuji?? well, in English it's Mei-chan's Butler.. and so, it was a leeetle hard getting used to seeing Hiro in a comic role all of a sudden.)

@ockoala - any idea why it's called Autumn's Concerto then? I did read on wiki that the chinese name of the show was "Next Stop, Happiness" (which sounds so much prettier in chinese btw) but how it translates to Autumn's Concerto is beyond me. Is it because of the Bach tune they refer to? But how the Bach tune = Autumn's Concerto... dunno that either. I guess this is the same issue with kdrama titles (Please Take Care of the Aghassi = Lady Castle...??) oh ya and mmm i know which bakery you're referring to. hee hee. I wish i was up early enough to stop by before the crazy crowd forms... but Saturday = sleeping in till noon haha...

OK, so I hadn't watched ep 17. But I know have and you are right. The last scene when JG is k****ing before BB ... powerful stuff. JG's eyes!! I so get your talk about CSW's eyes!!

The whole scene where JG waits all night long for SMR outside the p***** station, I was almost in tears. Heart breaking stuff. CSW totally stole this episode.

Onto episode 18!!

Can someone share a ringtone from the Tamra OST? I'm technologically deficient and would love to have my phone ring with either Blue Destiny, Blue or William.

@ crzycpl

Episode 17 was the showcase of Cha Seung-won's acting prowess in City Hall. Be prepared, cuz episode 18 is Kim Su-nah's chance to meet and beat CSW's killer performance in episode 17. And just like CSW made a speech to KSA in episode 15 (my absolute fave episode ever!), KSA returns the favor and has a speech to CSW that killed me (I didn't cry, but got close - and it made me just gasp for air).

The hardest scene for me to watch in episode 17 was the scene at the park.

@61 samsooki

Go with the instrumental versions of the songs for your ringtones.

Sadly for me, Verizon locked out ringtones other than their own $$ ones from my phone, and I haven't gotten around that yet. There's Big Bad Voodoo Daddy song I've been trying to sneak on as a ringtone.

When I make DVDs, I use the instrumentals off of the OSTs of various kDramas as the menu music. The Coffee Prince ones particularly good ones. Never fails to get a "what is that lovely music" comment.

Last OT quite a few people generously offered up Bollywood/Hindi Rom-Com suggestions in answer to my request. I thought some might find them useful as a list so I've gathered them here, I think (sorry if I missed any).

It's a long list, so again, apologies for the long post.

• Jab We Met
• Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
• Bride and Prejudice
• 1)Try Dil Chahta Hai:-) ‘Fun’tastic movie:-)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dil_Chahta_Hai
• 2)Wake up Sid
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake_Up_Sid
• 3)Dostana
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dostana_(2008_film)
• Have you seen Faana? The theme might be a little controversial but I thought the movie was wonderful. The song ” tere haath mein mera haath ho” is one of the most hauntingly beautiful ever.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tS8pjB1K24g
• Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge is a classic
• Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is also a good film. But very opulent and a lot more melodramatic, but the cinematography is beautiful.
• Oh and another fun one is Hum Tum which is the Bollywood take on How Harry Met Sally. It is pretty cute and the main leads have great chemistry.
• And if you’re interested in South Indian films, the Telugu film Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana is good, it’s an updated take on the early 90s Hindi film love story cliche, but with great music, acting, and cinematography. There are some cute and hilarious scenes in this movie. It’s subbed somewhere on youtube I think. And I know you can get this from Netflix.
• Jodha-Akbar – ridiculously long historical, BUT Hritik Roshan is beautiful
actually you don’t need to watch the movie just watch this clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnOIvkaQddk
• Kal ho na ho – this could EASILY be a k-drama, in fact it might already be, great chemistry between the 3 leads, and starring the ONE AND ONLY shah rukh khan (the man is a legend)
• Sholay – if the good the bad and the weird was a kimchi-western, then sholay is the 1970’s curry-western. It was and shall remain THE bollywood film.
• SALAAM NAMASTE. Fun and funny. The two leads are the same ones in KAL HO NA HO. Good chemistry.
• Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
• Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (They are like Hindi Movie 101 and they feature many of the big names you need to know if you’re going to pass yourself off as a true connoisseur.)
• Humraaz- Full of surprise twists
• Chori Chori, Chupke Chupke- Hindi version of Pretty Woman
• Baghban- My favorite Amitabh film
• Water- Not a Romcom but very good and also features my Husband John Abraham
• Tara zameen par – very very nice and touching movie
• ghajini (hindi version)
• Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na
• namastey london
• Dhadkan
good though not romcoms exactly
• tare zameen par
• Rock ON
• Bheja Fry
• hera pheri
• munna bhai Mbbs
• love aajkal.. i heard its really grt (same person who made jab we met)
• Ajah Nachle(not quite sure of spelling): Madhri Dixit’s come back movie, I just adore her, she was great in Devdas as well
• older and newer versions of Umaro Jaan.
• There’s a Sufi song Khwaja Mere Khwaja.
• Dhoom1 and 2, they are just hysterical, silly fun…
• On a serious side, Deepa Mehta’s trilogy, Fire, Earth and Water. Water is the most famous with that gorgeous John Abraham in it. But Earth was absolutely powerful and heart wrenchingly beautiful.
• Aparna Sen’s Mr and Mrs. Iyer
• 15, Park Ave.

@ ockoala - i'd be happy to edit a ringtone for you if you'd like. Just let me know which songs and which clips you'd like and i'll do my best. My old Samsung phone came with a sound editing program that i've been using for all my ringtones and i love it :)

re: YB - i'm currently talking to my guy friend about YB (i ever-so-gently persuaded him to watch it) and i dono how he's stuck it out this long as his list of complaints is long... here's a summary of what he doesn't like:

1) TK has too much guyliner
2) Jeremy is too weird
3) Hates Uee (ok i can understand that haha)
4) TK can't act and he's BORING (!??!?!?!)
5) First 7 episodes were boring, but at least #8 kind of picked up
6) Gong Yoo is a better actor
7) Lee Min Ho is a better actor
8) Doesn't like how TK says 'Go Mi Nam!!'

I have been yelling at him IN ALL CAPS for the last 10 minutes. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions (#1-3 is personal opinion so fine, i can let that go), but how is it that he says TK can't act and is boring!!??? Maybe my ICOMYM has gotten the better of me and i'm blinded by luuurve. And why would you watch 7 episodes of something when you can't stand half the cast and dislike the story? I don't even know how Gong Yoo and Min Ho came into the conversation. Anyways, my blood pressure just skyrocketed I'm sure and this morning I found a white hair. Sigh. Rant over.

happy OT everyone!

once again, im advertising for an ethnography proj im doing for an anthropology class, and i’ve picked JB’s Friday OT’s as my subject! to give you guys an idea about the proj, my professor’s prompt was this: “Techno-Cultures”
How are new technologies and devices (laptops, hand held devices, I-pods etc.) shaping or reshaping how people socialize; define friendship and intimacy; use, inhabit and move through space; understand the “private” and “public”; consume music and information; and structure and make use of leisure time. Do people construct sub-cultures or identities around their specific uses of technology?

if any of you are willing to answer some questions, u can shoot me an email with ur contact info!

Damn why do i have to go out......Haven't got time at the moment to read all of the OT (yet) but will be back! But from what I have skimmed so far......

Takeski Kaneshiro
Gee my OTers are really in tune with my mind! How else did you all know to mention Takeshi Kaneshiro in the recent OTs when I am planning on seeing him (ok not him him *sigh* if only! but onscreen) at the end of month? LOL

Have to say my love for him goes way back - back when he was not such a great actor (still awesomely handsome!) in 'Lost and Found'. A cute and sweet movie that made me cry.

Also re: Tony Leung. Love him. Love him in dramas. Love him comedies (which really the non Asian audience do not know what they are missing out on... they see him probably only in 'serious' Tony roles eg In the Mood for Love). And yep agree his eyes are the key

@ockoala
"So many fun groups exist on OT (with plenty of overlap and no entrance requirements):.....
10. BRA or “Baby Rain’s aunties”

HAHAHAHA
BRA!
LMAO at the title. Speaking of which - Samsooki have you been sharing of JiHoon's pics with my fellow 'BRA' members and not keeping me updated?! New pics to my email STAT! hmm I will send you a 'reminder' :)

@javabeans
Not only are you the legendary blogger, AAA++ crack dealer on all things kdrama now OMG the ringtones!! Huge thanks to you! I'd be using one of the tracks from the YB OST as my ringtone (while having the OST on endless playlist) - these ones will totally be added ASAP (well after I finish dl Ep 14 that is!)

*sigh* gotta go....this is killing me :(

I would love a ringtone with the Your Tears instrumental from the Tamra OST.

I'll buy you a sea salt coffee and a milk bread when I see you at the bakery during the rush hour.

@ crzycpl

I'm loving your "real-time" City Hall updates, you are so cute! And totally making me re-live CH moments with you. I'm expecting more CSW wow-type remarks in the next update, I assure you it's forthcoming. And CSW is a major movie star in Korea, I'd not seen him until City Hall because I watch mostly dramas. My "I lub you" Jung Woo-sung also has the same issue in terms of exposure to the rest of drama loving Asia - he hasn't acted in a drama in like 15 years!

just saw YOUR KJH on the cover of NYLON ( a magazine??)...bedroom eyes and everything....ringtone...I would have imagined HGD on yours Bberry.
I wish I could d/l JB's ringtone on my cell, but I ,too have Verizon, and it's next to impossible to d/l anything that's not theirs into the phone, pooh! I would have "I will promise you...." on it, and I don't care who gives me the look....I would just LOOK back ;)

OMONA!!! SMR, you didn't give in!! You go, girl!! The love between JG and SMR ... ahhh .. if only all loves were that strong and supportive ... and the trust ... oh the trust. I heart you SMR and JG!! FIGHTING!!

Is it just me or does BB look like he's about to have a heart attack every time he talks?? Is it a bit too much over-acting?

I'm going to have to go research CSW's work now. I've always been a fan of KSA ever since I saw MNIKSS.

Jung Woo-sung? Who is Jung Woo-sung??

OK.... last episode.

@lovenyc52
Since the earlier post got "vaporized", I will just give you the abrideged version-
Your friend can't compare Gong Yoo with JGS- 2 different types of actor, BOTH good ( I'm "Mrs Gong Yoo" in OT and ICOMYM on JGS, so I'm not bias, he he)
Gong Yoo started as a goofy kind of character (Biscuit teacher /star candy) and gradually worked toward his best work ever (at least to me) in Coffee Prince. ( I must have seen CP for the upteemth time, and I still cry when I see Cup#13- this man can cry!!!!). His stellar career is on hiatus now due to his military service, but I'm sure we will hear/see more of his project in a few months (MS ends 12/12/09...yeah).
JGS- well this guy practically grow up in front of the viewers. The first movie I saw him in was Baby and me. The movie was light, but JGS shines in it ( a star, GMN)
This young man is like a fine wine , getting better with time. I mean his acting ranges are great ( Hwang Jin Yi, HGD and the gruesome Itaewon Murder Cases).

However, I can relate to your friend ,too. I mean HTK's guyliner,smirkiness and being so dark annoy the heck out of me, too. But, then if you have a w**ch for a mother, you would be grumpy and fail miserably in the social skills department , too(GO MIN NAM all the time- although now I can see it as endearing to him; it's HIS way of calling His GMN) . The fact that HTK is too grumpy to your friends tells me that JGS acts well and portray the character well.

Anyhoo, share this with your friend, and if that didn't help, tell your friend this..."Chill, this is only a drama, just Enjoy it " he he ;)

Sorry, lied to you about this being the shorter version ;)
Darn..got to go...just heard them calling my name....

Happy Friday everyone. The weather has been wonderful today here in AZ. I see there are some fellow Glee fans in this thread. I honestly adore that show, it is so much fun to watch. Everything high school musical wasn't.

I absolutely love Kurt, he is just awesome. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone. I for one will be eating lots of pumpkin pie!!!

yeah, another CSW fan...try this for his earlier work "Bodyguard"...warning , CSW looks nothing like that anymore, but I recognize his "booming" laugh and the eyes, yup those eyes..
@ockoala
my OC's connection just called me , and we might be down there Sun...probably not 85oF, but the TofuHouse a couple doors down (it's cold, man)...mmmm, bumping into the whole ockoala clan...sounds good...how would I know if it's you...should I yell "TEAM PARK KYU" or "GO MIN NAM...don't stand where I can't see you"...lol ;)

the staff is calling me again....coming...

http://www.yelp.com/biz/85c-irvine

Make it a day trip - spend the rest of the day at South Coast Plaza.

@ cingdoc

You'll recognize me by the ockoala babies, of course! Oh, and the BCD Tofu House in Irvine is on my crap list. It has the worst suntobu I have ever eaten, and many of my friends and relatives have all remarked the same thing. The soup base is completely watered down and tastes very diluted (I want to alert the BCD corporate office that their Irvine franchisee is singlehandedly ruining their reputation). If you want Tofu on this cold weekend, go to the BCD Tofu in Garden Grove. It tastes just the way it should be.

9520 Garden Grove Blvd # B
Garden Grove, CA 92844-1528
(714) 636-5599

If you want to stay in Irvine, I suggest the Tofu place on the corner of Jeffrey and Walnut, or go across the plaza from the BCD and get Seollontang (Ox-tail soup) at the Korean restaurant on the other side. Why am I getting Brilliant Legacy flashbacks......?

@ crzypls

I want to hear your final thoughts, can't wait! Oh, and Jung Woo-sung, I'll tell you all about him in another OT, let's stick to CSW for now. ;-)

@26 - nycgirl: For Jang Hyuk, try "Robbers/Con Man" or the movie, "Windstruck". I think he had a stronger presence in those roles than in "Thank You".

@Dramabean: Wow! Now, we're getting ring tones, too?!!! You are our fantastic super-heroine! You always save the day!!!

Thank you.

Happy Weekend to everyone!

@97 Auntie Mame -

Ohhhhh, I totally forgot about Windstuck! Yes, yes I agree. Jang Hyuk was in that, although it wasn't his character that made it for me. Jun Ji-hyun....of course, was very special. A wonderful movie.

:D

Awwwwww ... sweetness all the way. The couple are just <3 CSW really did steal this drama for me. Although I did applaud KSA's acting, her emotions weren't conveyed as clearly to me as those by CSW. I heart CSW!

The "Sorry, sorry" dance sequence was just to die for! HILARITY! KSA looks so cool, as did Boo-Mi! And I loved the way that JG was blowing kisses at SMR. I'm racking my brains trying to remember which movie (a Hollywood one, I'm sure) where there was a similar way the actors blew kisses but it escapes me at present.

I think I understand why I like this drama so much more than others. Is it because it is targeted to those over 25 i.e. not hormonal teenagers? Not to say that I didn't swoon over the F4 boys earlier this year. Maybe because CSW and KSA are more experienced actors. But there was none of that awkward kiss feeling that I get when I watch other kdramas. Their kisses seemed so real and I'm sure I saw CSW slip the tongue in there a few times! :D Nor did I feel that any of their 'skinship' or intimacy was forced. For example, when they're sitting on the stairs and she's holding the pink flower. I was like, hey, that looks so normal and they don't look like they're acting at all!

I feel like joining a CSW/KSA ship, which I'm sure if I searched through soompi long enough, I'd be able to find the thread! :P

Thanks to all the OTers who suggested that I watch CH. It was worth the sleepless nights this past week.

It's almost 2am here so I should really call it a night! Until next week! :)
