stopping by again, he he...the danger of having my laptop with me...

@ockoala
thanks for all those suggestion...I'm a natural born foodie (my Mom always says HKG people are born to eat ;)....Oxtail soup...sounds good right now, but ehh, kinda hard to do that ...Sun...korean food...

@ktwngrl
Where were you last week?? I just did my rare trip to the K town Galleria last weekend ( don't laugh...that's all I know where to go )...had my first jajangmyum, and it was delish ( might have been cra**y to you), but I love it. So, may I ask you where Beverly soondooboo is ?? Thanks

@Samsooki
Have you replenished some of your sleep, yet? I often wonder how you look like (more so after your little comments a while back about how other Korean women reacted when they saw you and your wife walking down the street). And with your (obsess)/possesiveness of KJH, it makes me imagine you looking like him...@hjkomo, am I close???

@ 96 ockoala

Awwwwwww ....... they're so cute! Don't they just look so good together? They should just get married for real. Yes, I'm joining the CSW/KSA ship!! :D

I think I've worked out why I like this drama so much. There were no 'awkward' kisses which I tend to see in a lot of kdramas. I'm not sure, but maybe it is a product of CSW and KSA being more experienced and 'older' actors, but their kisses were not that pressed lips thing we get in most kdramas. In fact, I'm pretty sure that CSW slipped the tongue in a few times, for added effect :P

And nor did their 'skinship' moments or hugs feel forced. I really liked the scene when they were on the stairs and she had the pink rose. I finally thought, wow ... now there's a natural scene. And the both of them looked so comfortable in each other's arms.

The 'Sorry, sorry' dance sequence was hilarious! Seriously, who thinks of these things?? :D And I particularly liked how JG was blowing kisses at SMR ... so cool.

CSW really did steal the show for me. I'm now so disappointed that CH wasn't as popular as it should have been.

Thanks to all those out there who suggested I watch CH. I can now categorise it in the 'love' kdrama list.

Just wanted to stop by and say Happy Friday to everyone.

@nycgrl
get better.

Kinda sad that the LSG concert got cancelled last Saturday but went to the USC game instead and watched history unfold.

The rest of the week - been nursing my YB addiction. What am I going to do when it ends next week??

I want a SAMSUNG CORBY for christmas.. but I don't think it is available in the U.S. yet..

does anybody know? I checked the samsung us web site, and it is not even listed on their available phones!!!

I'll definitely trade my BBerry for a Corby. Just so I can have a little piece of YAB and JGS even after the drama ends. Especially the lime green Corby.

@Samsooki
You know how we celebrate OT #100....well, what should BRA (Baby Rain's Aunties) do for Ji Hoon's 100 days celebration...
since I'm still in JGS's mood, I probably would watch his Baby and me...what does Papa Samsooki suggest?

***off topic now....Tony Leung
The last movie I saw of him was Hero with Jet Li and Maggie Cheng. The movie was definitely a WOW for me- I'm a sucker for HKG-style martial arts movie, and it was perfectly done, but what I remembered most about the movie Hero was - Color....vivid, beautiful color...

Happy friday OT everyone...
this last week is like hell in the office with two big loadouts, DONE!!
but sadly with all the commotion, my body is acting up by adding a sore throat on the list of problems, sigh...

well we do not normally do thanksgiving here, but i want to give my thank-you to the most beautiful, hardworking, kind, and generous JB for the awesome recaps, news (or cracks as i may say :P) and to all of you JB addicts for your wonderful comments, snippets, and reccomendations...

i finally able to persuade one of my friend in singapore to watch YB last week, and after watching 1 episode, she just couldn't stop!! while i was crashing her place, sleeping soundly, she was having a YB marathon until morning, she didn't sleep a bit.... we were crying together on jeremy's bus scene (GREAT SCENE!!!)

@Red Cliff, Ahh the awesomeness of Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro in one great movie... when i have to wait about 6 months for RC2, the wait is killing me... it is better to watch them all at once...

@ringtones, now i am having RingDingDong ringtone, i always giggle when my phone rings, XD

@ crzypls

Just curious - how did the City Hall you watched end? I've seen it online and on DVD where the final credits are cut, and there are 2 not-to-be-missed scenes that air during the credits.

Ah yeah, we've got another City Haller, folks! I'm so glad that you enjoyed it, that's the most important thing, that the drama brought you joy and excitement. KSA and CSW are without a doubt a perfect pairing for me - but they can't get married in real life, CSW has a wife of 20 years, and his eldest son is almost 20. Crazy, huh? He oozed sex appeal during the show, I constantly fanned myself.

My fave episode 20 moment was the Moon River sequence in her garden - now that is how a man ought to p**p*se.

The City Hall love story was very meaningful for me to watch - it was adult, mature, sexy, complicated, sweet, and man oh man, those two were making out and making googly eyes like no other k-drama couple I've ever seen. And I totally saw tongue, it's not to be denied, they were kissing for real, and that translated on screen. Well, we'll be here if you need to discuss some more~

11. ObbA (ockoala’s babies/baobei’s aunties) Honorary members so far (by youtube posts) langdon813, cingdoc, hjkomo and yours truly.

Checked a few mins ago, already 56 views. Anyone who wants to join please search ockoala puzzle youtube. Will help to take your mind (temporary) away from YB. :-)

@49 cingdoc

Aaaw shucks, so sweet your thanksgiving speech! Thank you for including me, I feel so inept with all of you so well-read, articulate, knowledgeable etc etc (I am at a loss of words to describe) but yet am accepted as a friend. Just warms my heart, like GMN tells Manager Ma, I feel the cirit-cirit…LOL

@82 lovenyc52

You are our Team Park Kyu darling baby, so you have the chance to be carried by PK on his shoulders, howzat? :-D

Doesn’t like how TK says ‘Go Mi Nam!!’
Oh no… please tell your friend the way TK says it is so endearing (there’s hidden undertone of love in the way he calls especially now). I just lurved it! But then again, guys will be guys I guess and no matter how you explain these types of emotions they will not get it. You’re too young to get another grey hair.

I’m gonna miss it when real GMN comes back. I wonder how is TK’s going to change calling Go Mi Nam? What is he going to call her, can’t be pig-rabbit all the time rite?

Wow, the first thing I did when I got home, of course, is catch up on today's OT. :D
So engrossed I was....that when hubby got home (early, for a change), he had to loudly holler, "HONEY, I'M HOME!!!!!" a couple times before I looked up from my laptop. LOL. :P

As cingdoc said so well in her acceptance speech -
I am truly grateful for all of my OT friends here. And THANK YOU, SARAH, for bringing all of us together. :D

JB, I'd gladly use one of your ringtones (ROI!!!) for my phone, but I'm still in the stone age of cell phones - my phone doesn't even take ringtone downloads...ha!

@23, Samsooki

You must choose ONE - KJH or Binnie.
Who will it be???

And I'm wondering if you...
1) are on your paternity leave
2) don't have much of a deficit on billable hours, or
3) your multi-talking skills have reached new stratospheric heights
...for you to be able to spend so much time on the OT. ;)

Re: Don't Hesitate
A word of warning. It's a daily drama which induces headdesking, eye-rolling, blood-pressure-raising frustration, and throwing various objects at the screen. I was suckered by friends into this one because of Tae Woo (Lee Sang Woo - 9E2O, 19 vs. 29, The Road Home, Penthouse Elephant), and, granted, there is a bit of LSW fanservice provided, but I've also had to invest in a safety helmet to protect my brain from the constant headdesking.

@36, langdon813

I am also looking forward to watching Pirate Radio - a rare one, where both hubby and I want to see it.

@46, ockoala
10) BRA or “Baby Rain’s aunties”

Wha?!?!?!?!?! O_O
Please, let's come up with something else....

J-HA's (Ji Hoon's Aunties - pronounced jay-ha's)?
JAAD (Ji-Hoon's Aunties Against Daddy's influence)?

I don't know...something......ANYTHING... :P

@67, Taohua

Non-ajumma Chunojummas are dubbed, Chunoholics. 8)

@82, lovenyc52

LOL at your friend's comments!
Hey, to each his own, right?

I tried to get hubby to watch IRIS again (I had stopped after ep.4)...
~ Excerpts ~
Ep. 5 -> robot dancing (mocking) to the action-sequence soundtrack,
"Even an action drama has this cheesy crap?" (referring to the montage of HJ/SH moments)
Ep. 6 -> "I'm going to bed."
Ep. 7 (the next night) -> "This is dumb."
Ep. 8 -> Hubby went to bed while I stayed up to watch (not even very late, by my standards), and then I ended up falling asleep on the couch (during the ep).
:P

Multi-tasking is what I do - for instance after I got home tonight: two loads of laundry (one for baby, one for me and Mama Samsooki), dinner (a weird mishmash of beef broth, mandoo dumplings, egg noodles (ran out of udon noodles), and green onions, lol), two baby feedings, and drafting the next recap for City Hall.

You know, I kinda like bringing the laptop to work... at least I'm not soooo behind in reading the OT. Usually, it's about now or a little later that I would step inside the house, get dinner started, and THEN I can read the OT. It would then takes me another hour or so before I'm done reading...shoud I??.no, I'll be sensible and NOT bring the laptop to work. First of all, today was an anomaly. The work load was light, and I had the spare time. Otherwise, I'm too busy to even scarf down my lunch before heading back to see more patients, soooo ***sigh*** just leave my precious laptop at home, and just drive as fast as I can to my friends at OT.

@My Thanksgiving speech
I'm glad that you guys like it...it comes from my heart , and I mean every words of it ...I'm a sentimental fool , and I cry very easily ( last nite was bad...first, epi 14 of YB, then I followed it with JGS in Hwang Jin YI...I was sobbing so hard...I was a mess)

@simplesim
my partner in crime in "dissecting" YB
Today's topic: the love pentagon
I personally think it's still a love triangle- HTK. GMN and SW. Yes, we all saw Jeremy's confession to GMN, but I think that love/feeling is more a crush because up until then, Jeremy did not show any special love toward GMN. Besides, I think Jeremy was a better "Man" than his two hyungs in the love department. He handles the rejection better, and "let it go" smoother than Mr. Grumpy and Mr.I'm-a-step-behind. Jeremy came right out and told GMN how he felt, even though at the end, his love was not reciprocated.
Fake Fairy- not even a threat at all...

-the last 2 episodes
I really dying to find out how the Hong sisters going to solve all these problems:
-the obvious conflicted feeling HTK feels about his love for GMN vs his hatred toward the witch, I mean his mother and her "undying love" for GMN's Dad.
-Is GMN going to fight for her love or is she going to escape to the convent??? Are we going to have a scene from " Sound of Music"- where the Mother Superior going talk with Maria, I mean Gemma about love??? Instead of the 6 kids going to find Maria, are we going to have Jeremy and Jolie go to the front step of the convent and ask for GMN??
- HTK I know you are good in sulking and smirking, but come on, grow up!!! We all know how much you hate your Mom...she probably has alcoholic dementia already...What "undying love"???For all we know, the song was written for the Twin's mother...Like the Fake Fairy, HTK's mother couldn't accept the truth about who really love who ( the twin's parent and not her)....delusional fool...isn't bad enough that YOU have suffered for your love, why do you have to "pay forward" this suffering to the 2 young lovers??? I CAN"T WAIT TIL NEXT WEEK

^ LOL!
I just realized I wrote "multi-talking" instead of "multi-tasking" skills.
...wonder what Freud would say about that... ;)

I do so much multi-tasking (and -talking) at work....that I turn into a vegetable when I get home.

Large pile of laundry waiting to be washed. Check.
Dinner. Check. (Hubby is presently in the kitchen making it)
Continuing to catch up on OT. Check, check, check.

Just got back from New Moon. Oh, the hilarity!

Before I forget, you guys will be SO proud of me. I did the ICOMYM Club proud tonight! Early on, Bella gets hurt (duh) and Jacob whipped off his shirt...so I CLAPPED! And then so did everybody else! It was outstanding. I bet you that is happening all over the world during that scene. (He's NOT legal, he's NOT legal, he's NOT legal...) :-D I'm SO Team Jacob at this moment.

NEW MOON SPOILERS (kinda)

It's pretty bad, y'all. But I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed it, if that makes any sense. Taylor Lautner was absolutely fantastic; his acting is just head and shoulders above every other person in the cast, truly. Kristen Stewart was her usual sullen, non-emoting self although I think she's better in this than the first movie. Robert Pattinson basically gritted his teeth and gleamed (a lot). It's pretty true to the book in that it's the Jacob and Bella show...everyone else has one or two random scenes and that's it. Michael Sheen is hilarious (perhaps intentionally, it's hard to tell) as a foppish Aro. Dakota Fanning was onscreen for about a minute but I thought she made a very good Jane. Seriously, the entire supporting cast had very little screen time. I can't remember anyone in the cast other than Taylor and Kristen who had more than 10 lines of dialogue.

GREAT ending though, which I would not dream of spoiling.

I usually never comment but I noticed today on this open thread a lot of Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro Love and I have to stay I HEART both these actors especially you know who. Intense gaze from Takeshi Kaneshiro *faints. I loved Red Cliff as well but another great movie that they were both in was Confessions of Pain. The story line was great and they both looked really good in it ha ha ha. So I recommend it for you all to watch. :)

for @hjkomo, I would wear my Cal shirt

for @Samsooki...well, since I notice he NEVER respond to any of my posting and answer them, I would just plain ignore him... Nah, I probably would notice his cutie pie Ji Hoon...

Yay! Chunoholics it is! I saw the stills posted earlier today w/LDH and OJH---am so excited. I think I may watch the 1st episode of Hometown Legends 2008 just to see more of PD Kwak's work.

I still love YAB, but I've been kind of frustrated with the last couple of episodes. Mostly because I've felt some of the situations have been forced so my enthusiasm has definitely waned a bit, but I really do enjoy it. Some of the issues that I've had with previous Hong sisters' dramas that have crept up in YAB is the other main reason. And on the topic of JGS and the guyliner....I think JGS looks hot w/o it, hot when it's only on the bottom lid. It's okay on the upper lid if it's kept thin, but they've really gone overboard. There definitely some scenes, where I was like "why is he wearing more eyeliner than me when I go out?" Though this is not really important since JGS is fantastic as HTK...but still...(it's actually sad that I've thought this much about it...)

I have time to pick up a new drama...I'm thinking Tamna which I know many of you love and have recommended, but I'm not sure whether I should wait until all 21 episodes are made available (hopefully through Dramafever or something). Or just go ahead and watch it.

And randomly, has anybody watched the Kdrama, Noona? I've heard it's good? It aired I think in 2007.

Ok...stop, did I just do a faux pas earlier about liking TL in Hero?? I was thinking about Tony Leung Chiu Wei, you know the actor that started in TVB...I did some more research, and **whew** no Alzheimer's moment, I actually got my duckies straight...

@ 118 Mrs. Kaneshiro

You've just inspired me to change my user-name. Henceforth I am Mrs. Jung. My husband's name is Woo-sung.

Seriously, awesome user name. Way better than calling *mine* over and over again. Just go ahead and name yourself after your one true love. I suggest hjkomo become Mrs. Kang, langdon is Mrs. Lee, cingdoc is Mrs. Ji, lovenyc52 is Mrs. TOP, and so forth. Though with the relatively few rotating roster of Korean (same problem with Chinese) last names, we're bound to cause confusion. Sigh, I shall stay ockoala and keep calling *mine*.

@ hjkomo

I've been waiting for you......I hope that Axe is polished. We wouldn't want to retrieve it full of smudges and tears. I think hubby knows the outcome, he's in Boston and won't even have time to watch, he planned this on purpose. Regardless of the outcome - we're still Chunojammas and OT-sisters, right? Can't let a little football trouncing ruin our relationship. You needn't worry, we'll keep it in pristine condition, as apparently it'll be residing in Palo Alto for the foreseeable future as long as Luck and Gerhart are around. ;-)

@ langdon-unni

Thanks for the NM review. Mwah!

Just had multiple phone conversations with my sister about - TAMRA - she just finished and I knew she would call me....it's like....1, 2, 3....*ring*. She really enjoyed it - we had a long chat about how Im Joo-hwan reminds her of a cross between Joe Cheng and Fujiyama Masaharu. And she totally thinks Park Kyu is a saguek version of Zi-xu from ISWAK. SHe hearts PK, she's been youtubing Tamra all afternoon. I'm just an addiction creator it seems.

@ Taohua

As for YB, it's been annoying me on and off for the last 4 episodes - so I'm just sitting back and not thinking about it at all so I can enjoy the finale and say that it was a very good drama that I enjoyed. If I overthink I'm bounded to need to rant rant and I don't want to do that. YB is very enjoyable.

@ cingdoc

I suggest only saying "Don't go where I can't see you!" really loudly, because when you get weird looks, you can pretend you were yelling at your kids (nods of being a good mom) or your husband (grimaces about being a psycho controlling wife). Either way - we can pretend it wasn't a direct reference to YB.

Brava! You make the ICOMYM Club proud..hehe :P

(from OT#109)
"Let me ask y’all something – in anticipation of Chuno I thought I should acquaint myself with Jang Hyuk. Recommendations? I watched the first ep of Thank You on Dramafever tonight (didn’t shed a single tear…hmm). I didn’t hate it but I didn’t fall in love with it either, so I’m open to suggestions."

One important thing to keep in mind while watching JH's body of work - he's probably the actor who looks the most different from pre- vs. post- military service. Yeah, lots of actors come back ripped and hotter than ever...but chocolate abs aside, it's JH's face that changed the most. Gone are the fuller cheeks of his younger days...

I'm going to have to agree with #97 Auntie Mame (my local kdrama buddy!!) in recommending Robbers over Thank You.

I am in the vast minority with regards to Thank You. The drama was beloved by many, but I found it merely mediocre. As much as I love JH, Shin Sung Rok's character had more depth, and his performance was more compelling to me. Sure, Seo Shin Ae was adorable...but Gong Hyo Jin's character was annoying (a far cry from her performance in Ruler Of Your Own World). And while most were enthralled with Shin Goo and his choco-pies, I just kept wishing the writer had given the veteran actor something more worthy of his craft.

Ironically, it was JH's portrayal of Dr. Min in Thank You which turned many off of Robbers. He starts out as a scoundrel...but is gradually changed by the love of Lee Da Hae.
Yes, they had fantastic chemistry.
Yes, there were steamy kisses. (Yowza!)
Yes, JH had a Mane of Roadkill (but don't hold it against him or let it take away from the drama).
Yes, the supporting cast was great - Kim Jung Tae (wonderful!), Kim Hae Sook (fabulous!), Son Byun Ho...and if you think Seo Shin Ae is adorable, wait till you see little Kim Hwan Hee (currently playing Nam Sang Mi's little sister in Invincible Lee Pyung Kang).
It's the small, faithful group who followed Robbers during its airing, which then made its way over to lead the core group Chunojummas/Chunoholics. 8)

Another one you might like is Tazza, adapted from the manhwa. JH was good in this, but Kim Min Joon was better. Again, a great supporting cast - Son Hyun Joo, Kim Gab Soo, Kang Sung Yun. Unfortunately, Han Ye Seul was rather flat.

Hi Everyone! I'm back from internet purgatory. I was stuck someplace where we had to pay for our internet access. US$3 for an hour, and I made that last the whole five days by saving drafts of e-mails and then sending and receiving on-mass, in 5 min bursts twice a day -- so not much surfing or online watching was done.

Ockoala,
I didn't bring City Hall after all. I kind of need to focus, when I'm travelling for work, so I decided I didn't need another distraction. I was distracted enough thinking about and anticipating YB! Am off again tomorrow, but not bringing City Hall either. Think I'll save it up for my Dec/x'mas treat.

Red Cliff

- I watched the full Asian Part 1 version. And I have to say I found it draggy, and wondered whether I should have been less of a culture snob and just waited for the edited-down western-release version. I found it rather self-indulgent. I only really perked up whenever Takeshi appeared on screen. His casting gave me one twinge, though: The most brilliant strategic mind of the time, Zhuge Liang, is also the most drop-dead gorgeous man on the planet? Somehow it doesn't seem fair... But then, the gods have been rather over-generous in real life too. A charismatic and good-looking actor who is fluent in both Mandarin and Japanese - how unfair is that?!

@56 Jtinma

Hero! (the J-drama; not the Chinese movie). I recently watched that too. Good, eh?

There's just something about Kimura Takuya. I can't take my eyes off him. Now, to be honest, his acting is just ok. Not bad, but not awesome either. He tends to play the same characters over and over again. Yet I find him so compelling. I guess it's the 2 C's - Charm and Charisma.

@ BellaMafia

I couldn't get past an episode of Atashinchi no Danshi either. Personally I would classify it as "too stupid to watch". I find J-dramas very varied. They can range from embarrassingly stupid to sublime. My favourite is probably one of the very first I watched: "Nobuta wo Produce" or "Producing Nobuta" - for a high school drama it is surprisingly thoughtful, quirky, touching and unexpected. I've also recently enjoyed "Engine" - another Kimura Takuya vehicle: I'd normally avoid a "heart-warming" drama populated by cute kids with a ten-foot barge poll, but it *really* was heart-warming in an authentic way. And funny. "Love Shuffle" is another I enjoyed recently - love relationships, from a surprisingly adult point of view.

@ 68 nea:notoriousnoona

Tokyo Dogs - Much as I like both actors, sadly, I think this J-drama is falling into the "too dumb to watch" category for me. Not sure why. It's not as if I don't watch over-the-top exaggeratedly comic J-dramas - why, I got through and somewhat enjoyed *both* Gokusen I AND II. But somehow this one doesn't float my boat. It's just a personal preference thing, and maybe I'm just not in the mood.

On Air is officially the most insanely meta drama I have ever watched. Kim Ha-neul is deciding between 2 dramas to star in:

1. Ticket to the Moon - family melodrama love triangle between a neuro surgeon, a mentally retarded slow girl, and the girl's older sister. KHN is playing the retarded heroine - it's to be her acting breakthrough opportunity. This drama is written by Song Yoon-a and directed by Park Yon-ha.

2. Diver of the Deep - the biggest budgeted ever 50 episode fusion saguek where KHN encounters creatures of the deep, rescues a kidnapped prince, has am underwater castle.

Like the air supply scene with Chundarella, this was all in tonights episode, including a scene with KHN read the Moon script and tries acting retarded. Just the funniest stuff ever.

I typed the last email on my phone - I needed to capture the scene as it happened lest I leave out a detail. Best of all - Kang Hye-jung guest starred in this episode of On Air has herself, and declined the role of the mentally challenged heroine becuase she doesn't want to be type-cast!

On Air has not a single likeable character - but damn if it isn't poking so much fun at itself I chuckle at its charm.

As for the BRA group - change it to whatever......just let me know so I can declare my membership and renew annually.

@ ockoala

The OT and Chunojummas' sisterhood transcends school rivalries. :D
Come on...if I can overlook it in my own husband, I can certainly not let it come between us. Plus, I've already lived through the Dark Ages of the Axe's residency down at The Farm for all those pre-Tedford years. ;)

(Funny Thing - The Big Game is down at Stanford this year, and we're having lunch at a Haas alumni friend of hubby's....but hubby suggested we go watch the game at a bar with a bunch of his Cal friends afterwards.
Now, if I can only keep him from wearing his Stanford shirt...hehe)

@ Taohua

I'm one of the few who finds YB entertaining...but not crack....so the last few episodes haven't really changed my opinion of the drama.

You will always be welcome on Team Park Kyu, whenever you choose to watch it.
The director's cut dvd will be out in December (sans subs most likely), but if you watch the shorter version first, there'll just be that much more Tamna to savour. ;)

I heard Noona was pretty good, but I haven't watched it.

@ cingdoc

I would gladly wear my Cal attire and yell out, "Mang-ah-ji!" (Pony) to find you in a crowded, public place. Anything for my Cal sis! :D

As for Samsooki being comparable to KJH....I wouldn't know. I've only seen pics of adorable Ji Hoon (and I presumed he took after his beautiful Mommy).
If I had to make a guess....I'd say....NO? o_O

@cingdoc, Aww... oh well... hopefully other people visiting that site didn't go O_o when reading the cast list... :P

so, Chuno, nice stills, but i really have to see the first two episodes before i join the chunoholic (or chunojumma??) bandwagon...
idk, maybe i haven't quite found the right drama, but Oh Ji Ho's acting always looked stiff to me...

@Auntie Mame & hjkomo
"For Jang Hyuk, try “Robbers/Con Man” or the movie, “Windstruck”. I think he had a stronger presence in those roles than in “Thank You”."

I should clarify a little. For me "Thank You" wasn't good because of Jang Hyuk, though I actually thought he did a good job compared to some of his other roles, but what made the show great for me was the story, pace and everyone's else's acting. I love how uplifting and hopeful the story is even though its about AIDs. I also like how Blue Island is this magical place that is far away from the bustle of the city and the characters who go there are changed. For me the island reminded me of "Where the Wild Things Are" and this was well before Spike Jone's movie. Also totally agree about Shin Sung Rok's character being more interesting and multi-layered. If I were an actor I would have chosen his role instead of Dr Min. I loved Shin Goo and Gong Hyo Jin's acting. They actually made the show for me but both are consistently great in everything I've ever seen them in. Her character might be annoying but it was right for the story.

I actually did see Windstruck and I can't hardly remember much except Jang Hyuk dies and comes back as a wind and she plays a cops. That is how little impact the movie had on me. I also saw several episodes of Tazza as well and the drama was ok but apparently not enough for me to finish it. BTW watching Han Yesul act makes me realize how Fantasy couple just suited her acting to a "T" because she was been pretty awful in everything else I've seen her in.

Thanks yvhsien. I'm feeling better already. In my PJ's and rewatching YB ep 13 and 14 with subs.

OMG...am I brain dead ( more than usual) today??? Not until I read the post between you and @ockoala, and about your Hubby's shirt, that the (very dimmed) lightbulb of mine went "oooohhhh , the BIG GAME" . I guess that's what happened when I spent too much time at work posting/reading OT.... ;)

About Hubby wearing his Stanford shirt among Cal people- not a good idea...he might end up being naked- from people shredding his shirt off by pieces.

About Samsooki- I totally agree with you, cutie pie Ji Hoon definitely got Mommy's good gene... he he ;) I imagine Samsooki looks like ....Binnie ??? @_@ never mind.... Samsooki just looks like Samsooki, whatever that is...

@nycgrl
I'm sooo sorry, didn't mean to forget to ask if you're feeling better....rest and drink a lot of clear fluids. After you have recovered, take a lot of vit C (either with fruits.veggies or pills)

Late to the party again! Spent the day doing housework! Company's coming for Thanksgiving and my house was a mess. Watching dramas always beats out housework but couldn't avoid it in the end . So today I made good on all those promises of giving the place a good clean. My dogs looked at me like I'd taken leave of my senses when drapes came down and they were banished to the yard while I shampooed the rug!
This week I have not watch any Kdramas! I have, however, watched "Cranford" and "North and South" and loved them both. I do have to say not as much as I love "Pride and Prejudice", Colin Firth still wins in the tall, dark and handsome category.He lives just down the street from my brother so when I was visiting recently I took a couple of strolls by his house but no signs of life. It wasn't stalking, I had to go that way to get to the tube station! Anyway, thanks to those of you who raved about N&S awhile back.
May start to watch YB this week as it's nearing it's finale and I want to see what all the fuss is about!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in the US. Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh dear. What is the official age difference to qualify for ICOMYM? Because
I called mine on Kim Rae Won, and while I'm much older, I'm not old enough to be his mother. So, much younger....but HOW much younger? And he's definitely legal, but I'm clearly headed into cougar territory on that one. (same with most of the hotties on QSD, I now note)

If I wore a ICOMYM shirt to my usual haunts, it would seriously confuse people. While the k-drama section of my usual little corner of the on-line world is one of the smaller sections, at least we HAVE one. But then, my Princess Bride t-shirt caused much confusion among the non-geeks I know, so perhaps my worlds shouldn't collide that starkly.

BTW, my niece, when confronted with YB last week, ADORED the guyliner on TK. But then, she's a GreenDay fan, so guyliner is a good thing for her. She is also a teenager who knows her k-dramas and was easily sucked into the YB world.

"Ticket to the Moon – family melodrama love triangle between a neuro surgeon, a mentally retarded slow girl, and the girl’s older sister. KHN is playing the retarded heroine – it’s to be her acting breakthrough opportunity. "

Haha I'm reading this and I'm thinking of the movie "Tropic of Thunder" when Robert Downey's character is critiquing Ben Stiller's supposed breakthrough role playing a mentally challenged young man, "You went full retard".

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this but I didn't even know what "Twilight" was until a week ago when my niece informed me. I remember a couple of years ago I asked her what a Hannah Montana is and she gave me an eye roll. Seriously there are some cultural reference points if you aren't that age or have kids that age that can totally sail you by.

@Samsooki - please continue to watch Thank You. It has a lot of heart, and the story only takes off from ep. 3 (just like City Hall only took off from ep. 4). I fell asleep watching Robbers, and used the f/f often. Was quite disappointed in this series because it under-utilized JH and LDH's acting skills. I jumped into Story of a Bright Girl after Thank You because of JH lurve, but couldn't get pass ep. 1. JH was shouting too much. But will finish this series sometime, though.

@ hjkomo, thanks for that one line mentioning how you like KMJ better than JH in Tazza. When two of my favorite stars are in Tazza, it's a bonus. But to hear that KMJ is better than JH when I always thought JH is a better actor, now, that is a double bonus! Will put Tazza at the top of my To Watch list (together with Friend, Our Legend).

@ Dele, I like GLEE, too. At first, I didn't, because the plot lines were incredible/foolish, and there were hints of oncoming adultery. But the musical and comedy aspects totally won me over. Yes, Kurt is also my guy (gal?). I even managed to persuade my 12 year old and hubby to watch, so now it's a family affair. The two just won't latch onto my drama addiction.

@ reluctantbutaddicted: thanks for the Hindi movie recommendations. I used to love them when I was in primary school. Now once a while I would like to watch one. My last two were Kal ho na ho and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai months ago. A little bit late, but better late than never. Could you perhaps recommend a great Hindi movie/Bollywood download site? Trying to find a Hindi movie in Perth is as easy as finding snow in summer.

@Anh, welcome to JIN! I'm still following it weekly, and the love hasn't waned, unlike for YB...

I'm all prepared to fall off the YB bandwagon. Perhaps it's due to exhaustion jostling in the past few weeks for space and time in the various forums or download sites. I may be an honorary member of the ICOMYM, but screaming teenager-with-fainting fits I am not. As such, I haven't watched the latest subbed ep (14) on vikii, although I have watched it raw, and read the recap/summary at JB and at Soompi. That's as far as my addiction has gone this week. Unlike previous weeks when I contributed to the crashes at JB, aja-aja, Vikii and Soompi, this week, I was sane enough to back off from "peak hours". Maybe my waning interest could also be due to what I think is a predictable ending as per My Girl. I even guessed correctly that the breakup between MN and TK would happen at the end of ep. 14. So now I think TK will find out about his mistake in the second half of ep. 15. Thereafter, the rest of the ep would focus on finding MN, who has left (gone to Japan?). Probably we'll get reconciliation and a final kiss in the last 10 minutes. Curtains fall.

No worries, you can wish me well next week when I'm sick again. The way things are going I'm not going to get better anytime soon in this year. Since mid-October I've had Cold, Strep throat, Flu, 24 hr stomach bug and now another cold see its recycling. I know this is sick to say but the only good thing is I've lost 10 lbs from being so sick.

Ahem...I was guarded in my Han Ye Seul-Tazza critique...but I guess it's now safe to say that I wished {SEMI-SPOILER} that Nan Sook had been at the receiving end of a certain bullet. She was supposed to be Goni's great love, but they had almost zero chemistry. *sigh*

Should I watch Fantasy Couple? Will it help alleviate my skepticism of Oh Ji Ho's acting? He's the unknown factor for Chuno...and I'm putting my trust in PD Kwak Jung Hwan.
He must've seen something in OJH, right?

@ nycgrl
"Seriously there are some cultural reference points if you aren’t that age or have kids that age that can totally sail you by."

Hey, until YB 9, I didn't know what pogs were. :P
But I do know the lyrics to the Wonderpets theme song.

@ rambutan

If you're looking for an older JH drama, try Into The Sunlight.
Brooding, chip-on-shoulder, young Jang Hyuk softened by his pure love for Kim Ha Neul. :D

JH has talent, but he hasn't quite been able to reach his full potential, yet.
PD Kwak may just be the one to help him do it.

@ momosan

I think anything that's in cougar territory would be considered ICOMYM-worthy.

What did your Princess Bride shirt say?
As You Wish.
Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

or R.O.U.S.
:P

Is anyone watching Modern Family?
Ed Norton's cameo as a member of Spandau Ballet this week was hilarious.

ok... I will give you a quick screening...
Where do you live? NY??(don't laugh because our @lovenyc52 lives in So Cal)
Are you still in school where it's germ city galore?
Are you around a lot of kids??
You shouldn't be sick that often...losing weight is one thing, but you need to find out the underlying causes...maybe, there's something in your work/school/home that keeping you from being fully recovered. Are you returning to work/school too soon? Did you wipe all surfaces down at home/work after you are well? I even wash all my beddings with hot water and bleach afterward... Please be careful, this year we have a double whammies- regular influenze and the Swine Flu. My SECRET WEAPON.....wash your hand often and long....as soon as you can after you touch a publicly used door knobs ...wash the hand long enough for you to hum Happy birthday twice...Take care....

I better go to sleep... first a Oscar length of speech and now a public announcement...

@Ringtones
Jackpot!!!! When my 16 yo was trying to tell me why she just bought another pair of have to have skinny jeans, I swooped up the opportunity and asked her if she can help me with JB's ringtones. Within 2 min, I kid you guys not, she d/l and e mailed the ringtones (all 3 YB songs!!!)to my Verizon phone...so, @Samsooki, when (and if ) you call me, it will play ".....I will promise you...." loudly ... he he ;) And, unlike you, I will not drop my phone...at least not intentionally ;)

Goodnite you guys

It was
My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die

From ThinkGeek.
Cracked up my fellow geeks, totally confounded the non-geeks.
I dread to think what would have happened if I had worn my
"You never forget your first Doctor" Who shirt.

Oddly, the reverse problem never happens - the sheep and wool festival shirts never seem to bother the geeks at all, they seem to find it a perfectly acceptably odd hobby to be fibery.

Ah well, clearly if cougarhood is the criteria, then I'm in trouble here. Am I allowed to call mine AND be in ICOMYM with the same guy?

@cingdoc

Can I borrow your 16 year old? I tried emailing to my phone and all I got was a message that an mp3 was not an acceptable attachment to download. Grill the kid mercilessly for me. I was picking it up off my yahoo account via mobile web, as I don't have email that I know of on the phone. Perhaps that was the problem. I was trying to get Shinee's ringdingdong on there - that would be endlessly amusing. I can rip the ringtones easily enough, it's getting them on the phone that is killing me.

Just wanted to share a randomly awesome website that might just make u ppl smile.
http://1000awesomethings.com/

@72 ockoala -Thanks for the trivia about Autumn's Concerto /Next Stop,Happiness.Always wondered about the weird names of some dramas.:-)
And Autumn's Concerto : Almost had a red-faced moment , cause I didn't know that concerto is pronounced as con'ch'erto. Thank God I recommended the drama to ppl through writing only so far. :-S

@54 nycgrl - Keep a tissue box ready when you do decide to watch it.:-)

@35 Cathie-AC is pretty good:-)YB is equivalent to chocolate ice cream and AC is like 'Van'illa ice cream;-)

@80 reluctantbutaddicted - Rock On is almost like the Korean movie 'Happy life' .Jang Geun-seok really rocks in that one:-) He's so good at playing a 'bad' boy:-)

@Ana: 1000 awesome things! Awesome! Many of those things are things to be thankful for ;) I'm horribly segueing to a Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who celebrate it this coming week. As every year since the tender age of 10, I refuse to eat Turkey on Thanksgiving. It's just a thing (still a rabid meat eater on other days :( )

Anyone want to drink a delicious refreshing Tofurkey Jones soda with me? (crickets)

So Yuko Takeuchi was on Flash Forward? THAT Yuko Takeuchi? BRB need to watch that.

I got up way too early this Saturday morning all because of you know what. Stop being so awesome Smile, You. Just.....stop. You're too good to me. Picking a favorite scene from last weeks episodes is hard, but I like to rewatch the double-header scene (two story lines at once! Sunday, Sunday, Sunday) with Han-sae and Hyun-soo at the food cart.. annnnndddd Sung Joon is getting into an "altercation" again. This is why the Seo family can't have nice things. Next time I want to see a fight near a fountain, or in the middle of a market, or at least someone jumping into a tree. (Arrested Development reference) ;D

Lastly, I am now more frequently watching 1000x Loving You. Off and On. On during the good parts.

@ockoala somewhere above.

Please let me know if you succeed uploading JB's ringtunesonto your Iphones. I thought only ones you can import to the darn phone is the ones you've purchased from itune store(which was soooo disappointing to me since I'd already had Kiss the baby sky tune ready to be transfered ). I'd love to have them on my phone.

@140 rambutan, @124 ockoala , @ Taohua

I agree with you all. I still love and adore YB, but it' falling into that predictable Kdrama plot thing and it' a bit disappointing.

@121 Anh

Yep, I love Jin, It's a solid production with solid everything. For this, I usually download the raw HD versions onto my hard drive so that I can have my grand TV viewing experience. Except that I'm in Japan now and I'll be able to watch it on real time TV tomorrow!

@142 Queen Sophia

Real clothes was recommended by my sis. and finally watched the first 6 episodes on pandra.tv right before I left home to come here. It's surprisingly good.

and I lobe bothTony Leung. They are both Charismatic.

I don't know why, it seems like my brother's computer doesn't have a spell chack function. Is it becasue it's a Japanese computer?

Damn. CSW has a 20 year old son! I didn't expect that. And his daughter looks adorable too.

The version I watched was the one that the BON fansubs did so it had all the important sequences in the credits. I LOL at SMR w****** dress. I just thought ... man, is she for real? But they both looked so cute and HOT together that it didn't matter.

And the last scene where SMR is in the audience and gets caught ... LOL ... honey, run, run, run ... awwwww

So, what should I watch next? It's wet and dreary outside so perfect weather for another kdrama marathon.
