It’s that time of year again! Time for the year-end extravaganza summing up the highlights and lowlights in the world of Korean dramas over the past twelve months.
In previous years, I’ve asked guest bloggers to help me wrap up the year, and they’ve come through beautifully. This time we’ve got a particularly robust lineup of reviews in a six-part series: to be featured are the many witty observations and insights of Dahee Fanel, thunderbolt, Samsooki and hjkomo, as well as my own review, topped off with a collection of Editors’ Picks.
We didn’t always agree and not everyone saw the same shows, but I consider that a good thing. I hope you enjoy reading each review, which displays each writer’s thoughtful assessments of the year’s offerings, both good and bad.
In case you’ve missed out on the previous years’ wrap-ups, here they are:
- 2008 Year in Review, Part 4: Finding Merit in the Mediocre (javabeans’ review)
- 2008 Year in Review, Part 3: Dahee Fanel’s 2008 Review
- 2008 Year in Review, Part 2: A Grump Reviews 2008 (thundie’s review)
- 2008 Year in Review, Part 1: Witterings on 2008 Dramas (Sevenses’ review)
- 2007 Year in Review, Part 4: The Rest of 2007 (javabeans’ review)
- 2007 Year in Review, Part 3: Dahee Fanel’s drama round-up
- 2007 Year in Review, Part 2: Thunderbolt’s hits and misses
- 2007 Year in Review, Part 1: The Best of 2007 (javabeans’ review)

My favorite things about the end of the year, besides the holidays of course, are the year end reviews and the award shows. I can’t believe 2009 is wrapping up so quickly, but thank goodness 2009 was a better year in terms of dramas than 2008 was.
Looking forward to them! This is my first year with Dramabeans, and it’s been a great year overall.
woo hoo, your year-end review is always the most anticipate post for me
That is a whole good reviewers line up you have there. I can’t wait to read the 6-par-year-end roundup. Agree or disagree, I just hope people are just being civil with their comments
Thank you so much Javabeans! And also all the guest bloggers. Really looking forward to your year-end reviews. I can never express my gratitude enough for you, Javabeans, you made me pull through a very tough year 2009.
너무감사합니다!
What happened to Sevense??
Looking forward to all the reviews, 6 is better than 4…
Sevenses was going to write one up, but she had unforeseen circumstances (i.e., real life) crop up and had to bow out this year.
*claps hands* I was waiting for this. I always wait for this. Thank you guys for writing these reviews, they’re interesting.
this is one post that I always waiting for at the end of the year.
And the guest bloggers are interesting…we may not all agree with them, but to read what others’ think is always fun!
so, yay!
Oh, cool! Can’t wait to see what everyone has to say.
Cool, I can always find a couple of dramas I want to see after looking through the reviews, so thanks!!! Can’t wait to read them all!
so, thundie won’t be writing the review this year???
I love reading these! Yay! And even more reviews! Awesome
I’ve been waiting for the year-end reviews the whole December
Thank you all authors.
Looking forward to all the reviews! That’s great to have views and indepth analysis of different kdramas experts
As I, myself, know nothing about writing or directing. Watching and liking a drama is just pure instinct for me.
Thank you for these NEW YEAR gifts.
I already like Dahee Fanel review which is a “Big Bang” here.
J’aime la solidarité qu’il ya entre vous blogeurs.
And Happy new year Javabean.
