My last final is today, then its home for a month. Finally.

I plan on watching Soulmate, Bad Love, and a few other dramas that I've seen fanmade videos of recently. Hopefully, I haven't set my expectations too high for these dramas. You'd think by now I'd know not to do that.

I can't wait for the next two episodes of Assorted Gems! Things are starting to get good.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

but no. it's amazing. go watch. Go soo will transcend all the clicheness of the melodrama genre.

Interesting!

The recapped series are now split between IN PROGRESS and DONE.

Nicely done... Damien* – “Confidants” from their release of Crippled Cute. Reminds me of Echo and the Bunnymen, if they were more optimistic...

While waiting for smile, you recaps, I'm following will it snow for christmas...but I don't think I'll watch it, too melodrama, too heavy, too much emotion...but still follow the recaps, better reading than watching :)

@Fyoora: I already saw the ending, so I might as well watch the majority of it. Though I think I'll be skipping the first episode or two. Who knows what will happen, chances are I'll end up watching like three episodes and that's it.

@Anonymous: My sister loves to bake; I'm more the cook of the house. But I do make some really good brownies with nestle chocolate and peanut butter chips thrown in.

Its Friday!

I like the way u split ur recapped series into 'Done' and 'In Progress'. Nice~ =)
Btw, ur IRIS tag is wrongly directed to You're Beautiful recaps.

In the midst of the YB withdrawal, I'm now contemplating watching either Iris or Will It Snow This Christmas. Tough choice...

@anonymous: I just baked green tea cake the other day! It turned out okay cept for the part where everyone was asking me what cake it was which meant not enough tea powder. =/

Finals are over. Yay! I was going to go into drama-watching mode but I don't know what to watch... I still have to finish You're Beautiful. I started 9 End 2 Outs but literally only saw one episode. I'm due for a rewatch of MNIKSS. I want to watch something good, not something so bad that it's good.
I'm considering starting on j-dramas but I'm not very excited about it...back in the day I watched like 3 minutes of Nodame but it didn't have subs so I didn't continue. Then later I tried watching Osen but the male lead was, idk, too annoying... turned me off from watching. But I dl-ed this movie the other day, Sweet Rain with Takeshi Kaneshiro and so far I'm enjoying it so I think I should give j-dramas/j-movies another try. I would also give TW-dramas a chance if people would NOT recommend ISWAK...

Nice, since some of you are talking about cooking. Help!? Its the one thing I can never get right.
Mom wants me to make wings for the family, I don't know if I should fry them or boil them or just put them on the stove and cook them that way. What's best and what kind of sauce should I get at the market? Any suggestions greatly appreciated :)

@8 Anonymous

Thanksgiving to New Years is nothing but a cooking festival here. I make stollen for gifts, pies, breads, more pies, etc. No baking today, but tomorrow it is supposed to snow big time, so I'm going to make something. Maybe orange cranberry brioche. Maybe pannecotta. hmmm. Better check to see if I need anything at the store.

Of to some appointments, but CitC later before a Xmas concert.
(I figure if everyone mentions it in every message samsookie will be mesmerized into watching)

@momosan -

lol. Trust me, it's on my watch list, but I could not be busier right now. Last night we had our firm holiday party, and my staff are literally comatose zombies, having their brains addled by silver patron shots at open bar. So now I have twice my workload, then I gotta leave as quickly as I can so that I can rush to the mall to fight for parking to go find and buy a sweater for my grandmother and then mail that off, all before I get home to wife and child. if I had time for CitC in the midst of that, trust me, I would look into it. But it will have to wait til 2010. =)

The acting is believable in "Temptation of an Angel'? well, maybe so,but the plot is such baloney! From the honeymoon, where she was always out with the doctor,to the car accident where the airbags didn't go off,to the main actor not going to the police when he woke up-it just goes on and on-but that's not to say that both my wife and I are not glued to the screen watching this show-it IS entertaining. We are already expecting a typical SBS ending, with lots of forgiveness and no revenge-I think I can already guess who the nurse actually is.

Has anyone seen Avatar yet?

I saw it a while ago, and my gah... Sam Worthington is one HOT HOT CUPCAKE!!!! *droolz* The storyline could have been so much better, but the amazing visuals and HOT Sam Worthington made up for everything..<333

And on to Go Soo in WISFC, his eyes and angelic smiles ~~ TO DIE FOR! <333 I wish he would smile more in the drama... it's his best best asset apart from his intensity-filled eyes. hehehe...

Saw 4 episodes and not really feeling the drama yet... it is definitely missing something. But I don't know what is it exactly.... feels like I'm going thru another round of IJUKSA..

I guess i should start watching Lovers in Paris then...I only watch about 20 mins into the first episode..And the actress doesnt really appeal to me so far...But i guess will get better...
For some reason i kind liked Bad Love...It was past-paced and exciting in the beginning and i really liked it....In the end it lost almost all of its steam...Coz the actress kept crying and confused and it got kinda messy, draggy and bad...But it was still not that bad...Kwon sang woo is kinda dreamy though...

I cannot watch temptation of an angel..Coz i keep feeling bad for the actress and have a feeling that shez going to have a horrible end...

@ soni

I would pan fry them first to get a crispy skin and then broil them with sauce. Since you're a beginner, I would suggest to go for the store brands. It depends on what kinds of sauce you want, there's a tremendous array of choices...from Honey BBQ to Chipotle. I personally like the jamaican jerk flavored because it has subtle sweet and spicy flavor combo.

OK, this is a long rant.

I received my BOF DVD from Yesasia yesterday, the one published and released by YAEntertainment. But I noticed as i watched the episodes, the MUSIC IS WRONG!! ( I mean the songs used as background music on specific scenes is totally different from the one originally aired/broadcasted. See evidences below)

YAEntertainment is the one that holds the copyrights to release Kdramas in the U.S. and Canada in DVD.

1st evidence:

On the first episode, the song “Yearning Heart” by A'st1 was played during the scene that the F4 are dressing up and choosing their clothes! I clearly remember that it was "Almost Paradise" that was used on that specific scene when I watched it on its broadcast. Plus the Yearning Heart song was first used as a background music on Jun Pyo and Jae Kyung's first date. And i watched the same scene on mysoju and aja-aja and I AM CORRECT.

2nd evidence:

on episode 2 when Jan DI realized that Seo Hyun is Ji Hoo's first love, there was a scene that Jan Di was in her room reminiscing and thinking about Ji Hoo while looking at the handkerchief given by Ji Hoo, the song that played on the DVD was “Fight the Bad feeling” by T-Max. I am sure that song was released on the latter episodes of BOF because the album was released late into the production. And if you watch it again on mysoju or aja-aja, the song used on that specific scene is “Stand by me” by SHINEE.

3rd evidence:

Still on episode 2, after Jan Di tells Jun Pyo that she hates everything about him, from his curly hair to that way he is not wearing the school uniform, there is a scene that shows Jun Pyo in a bad mood while playing sports, taking a shower after playing and then until he saw the poster for the school trip. The song used on the original broadcast was "Do you know" by Someday BUT in the DVD, the song used was "Love You" by Howl. That song is also a part of the 2nd OST!!!

Then I couldn’t take it anymore, I jumped to the last episode, on my favorite scene, the pool scene..

4th evidence

When Jan Di threw the necklace into the pool, the song playing in the background is “What Do I Do” by Ji Sun, and it plays all through out their intense conversation about how Jan Di tells Jun Pyo how well she knows him.. BUT on my stupid DVD (from YAEntertainment) the song playing was Lee Min Ho’s “My Everything”.

I was appalled after watching that pool scene. That was my absolute favorite, and the song “What should I do” was perfect for the scene, but watching it again without that song feels very empty.

I mean, I LOVE the songs in the OST (all 3 OST), but watching BOF with a different music feels weird. It is like I am watching a totally different drama. I could not find the emotions I felt when I first watched the drama because I am too focused on the changes that is very apparent. I know we complained that the OST was overused in the first half of the drama, but having watched it now on a different music is wrong.

Does anybody here already bought the DVD? What are your thoughts?

Just wanted to drop in and wish everyone a wonderful Friday and upcoming weekend. Busy busy day at work - only a half day as we have our company luncheon today... So much to do and so little time.

Must watch Avatar this weekend though... Looks. So. Good.

Will it snow for Christmas is shaping up to be a great drama.
Just hope that it only gets better and better and does not dissapoint.

Im tired of watching great K-dramas that are 99% brilliant only to be wrecked by a bad ending. Makes me wonder if K-Drama directors / producers purposely try to stick knives in the hearts of their loyal followers. I often can create in my mind far better endings. For example, Lovers in paris was a good drama until the last episode which totally destroys all that came before!

Green Rose was a brilliant drama with Go Soo and Lee Da Hae's superb acting.
However they didnt do it justice by adding extra episodes that seemed dragged out and weak. However, Green Rose has a beautiful ending which one does not often find in a K-Drama.

@xiaoSxin

You might want to give a call to YAE to see what they say. It is possible that the release that was given to YA (the US release - Region 1) had edits made to it (probably not by YA, as publisher of the US release, but by the production company KBS and its subsidiary, KBS Media, and the latter's affiliate, KBS America). Why, I have no idea.

If you are really interested, you might want to call/email KBS America and ask about BOF edits, but I am not sure how deep you want to go to get answers. The following link is for kbsworld, which has contact info. http://kbsworld.kbs.co.kr/program_licensing/sales_contact.html

@hjkomo - I did online shop, but now its too late. originally, we got other stuff for grandma, but at the last minute, we found out we are pre-empted by other relatives and now we are stuck with a switcheroo and no time to buy, wait for shipping, get it, wrap it, add other stuff, and then send...

WHY DID NICHKHUN OF 2PM GOT THE ROLE IN MOVIE "SHINING DIPLOMA" EVEN THOUGH HE IS FOREIGNER?

@xiaoSxin: in regards to the music, i think this really happens to other dramas' dvd version because (1) maybe the copyright was not okayed for dvds, (since the intention is to distribute and sell) or (2) sometimes the director has a different music intended for the scene :)

Going to watch Avatar tonight, hopefull it'll be good, fingers crossed.

And yeah im really liking WISFC, I don't think I've pondered so long over some of the scenes of a drama in ages, I think its re-ignited my K drama love, no YAB did not.

Go Soo is a real standout, complex characters and up till now an interesting story, I just hope it doesn't drag and no silly sub plot or plot developments.

I'm excited about two things this weekend, Avatar and the new Doctor Who tomorrow night!

Friday!

I am not feeling inspired enough to watch the current K-dramas out there. Really not into Will it Snow for Christmas because I am so NOT a fan of the actress in it. Go Soo is alright, but not enough to draw me to invest one whole hour of my life to sit and watch it. Reading JB's recaps only confirmed my original conclusion.

So I guess I'll just go on with life as usual until the next (hopefully soon) really cute romantic drama comes along. Life has enough drama on its own for me to watch "dramatic" dramas. When I sit down for entertainment, I want to laugh and feel good, not bite my nails in angst or frustration or quite simply, utter irritation. Or complete boredom.

I finished watching Dae Jang Geum a few days ago, and I'm so glad I stuck with it. The king stole my heart in that one...Right now I;m watching Yi San coz I hear the love story there is beautiful. I'm home for about 3 more weeks and kinda happy but kinda not because some major drama is about to play out and I am not a fan of real life drama...but I'll have kdramas to be my solace. Have a wonderful weekend all! smile :)

If you want to start on Jdrama's here are a couple I can suggest:
1. Real Clothes - J version of Devil Wears Prada, now airing
2. Attention Please - Wild punk rock girl decides to become a flight attendant
3.Bambino - Young chef leaves his hometown & hopes to become a top chef

Enjoy your holiday.

@43: there are a lot of better options than Nichkhun.(for example, Kim Bum, who is more popular and does not have an accent) I think it's behind-the-scene politics because JYP Entertainment can influence the producers of the movie to make them cask NichKhun.

actually I did email already YAEntertainment about it, and thanks for the link to KBSWORLD, you bet I am going to write to them as well.

@dee
I don't think this case oftens happens to DVD releases, because this is the first time for me that I encountered something like this. And I have been buying my DVD from YAEntertainment, KBS America, SBS International, and MBC America for about 4 years now. Do you know any specific drama that the music score changed on the DVD release? I mean I only own several titles, I don't actually have a huge collection. It would be interesting to know, and will help me calm down a little if this has happened before.

Happy Friday, happy pre-Christmas week, happy Christmas holidays for those that have them (including me), happy first snows for those that are getting them (also including me).. Just a whole lot of happiness in general. ^^ Of course my holidays are going to be marred by assignments but what the hell, I can deal. I'll just wrap 'Christmas Spirit' around myself. It's strange how Christmas is still 'magic', despite not being Christian or celebrating it with family in any sense, venture out into the world and its inescapable and beautiful. We need magic.

Dramas! I'm on ep 9 of Black and White and I'm really digging the maturity and danger and risk perpetuating everything, I was as crazy about YAB as everybody else but I love the contrast; I'd like to see our little nun hanging around the police station. Or facing Gao Yi/Kingone, dear Lord he terrifies me. Which is why I am all over Chen Lin, my new hero(ine). She was going to take him with a gun. She told the mafia men who raised her who take loyalty and protecting the boss' daughter to the death to stay home so she could go and fry him. She flips men over cars while wearing hoop earrings. I LOVE HER. I'm sad for Forensics Girl, though. Not to mention ZaiZai, my lovely mancrush, and Mark Zhao who is uptight and faily and would rather go endanger his life than ask a girl on a date. Fun tiemz, y'all. I wait eagerly for them to make me go :O My failing is when I'm watching I'll inevitably go looking for commentary and I end up spoiling myself a lot.
