I have just finished watching this series and it was fantastic. one of the best dramas i have watched: with characters i can relate to and situations i have seen happen in real life and lovely dialogue.
javabeans request: how about a thread on 'longer' dramas (weekend dramas). bit difficult to find the next one to watch and they are not discussed as often as shorter dramas!

somehow i prefer bok shil with the perm, it makes her look more "her". Adorable, demure, unpretentious...I dislike the new bok shil, she's developed quite a bit of an attitude after leaving the Song family, although she seems to lapse to her bok shil ways when she's with dae pung, which is soooo cute...haha...when's the dvd coming out, i SOOOO love this drama!

Thanks for the recaps. The scene where Bok-shil sheds her old self really struck me, maybe because of that weird tune in the background that vaguely reminds me of a medical show. And Dae-pung, he was just embarrassing himself. I couldn't believe he mentioned Bok-shil's unwashed hair, the mortification was totally there on her face. Although their reunion was unexpected to me, I wish he would blame Bok-shil less about it. Truthfully it's his own fault.

@Ariel

Ever tried hooking up your laptop to the tv? There's a special cable for it...

Loveeee this recap!!! Haha, I've been waiting to find out what happens because I watched bit and pieces of the DaepungXBokifer romance on Youtube (I don't understand much but it's a pleasure to watch anyway)...

Have you ever experience the frustration of bad subbing? it's enough to turn you off watching dramas. The subtleties of the language gets lost in the translations. The last five episode of You're Beautiful was subbed really badly on the DVD I purchased. I would prefer to watch it on the PC but my eyes are already tired, my work requires us to look at 2 monitors. That's why I prefer watching on TV, please could the production company produce a DVD that we could buy in major stores with good subs... This is also the reason I shy away from 50 plus episode dramas. Reading your recaps helps a lot, Thank a lot Javabeans.

Towards the end, the Bok-Shil and Dae-Pung relationship got too typical and drawn-out for me, and I think Dae Pung's acting became a little self-conscious in the end, BUT! overall the drama was very enjoyable! My favorite was SJ and JP's relationship -- very natural and sweet ^^

Thanks for the recap! I loved this drama...my very first "family" drama of over 50 episodes, and all thanks to your recommendation. The family dynamics and genuine emotions were so heartwarming and hilariously funny!

Whoever came up with the nickname "Bokifer" deserves a round of applause.

Now that I'm not afraid of 50+ episodic family dramas, I've started "Assorted Gems" and, while not as funny as "Sons of Sol Pharmacy", I am really enjoying the love relationship of the oldest sister, and the American actor playing Kyle is awesome to watch with his great Korean-speaking ability.
