It's raining buckets here; my ever-decreasing level of productivity may come to a complete standstill shortly if I figure out a way to use my laptop from bed. Wireless internet would be so nice to have right about now.

I went out to eat last night, had a huge meal, came home stuffed, and woke up starving. How is that even possible? But it happens all the time. Big evening meal, wake up hungry; small evening meal, don't wake up hungry. Bizarre.

The sun is shining in London but the wind chill makes it feel like its -5C outside (or less!). I wanna go home and sleep! I've been sleep deprived for over 2 weeks now.

I've been out of kdrama land for over 2 weeks and I'm feeling the withdrawal. Stupid work. Hmph! But I managed to read JB's WISFC finale recap and I'm still undecided as to whether or not I like the ending.

Has anybody here seen the movie Take Off with Ha Jeong Woo? Was that really him speaking in english with an American accent?

Finally watched first two episodes of Chuno. Yes, it's all rather self-conscious. And, heck, yes, I'll keep watching avidly. It's gorgeous!

Off to check out iPhones tomorrow! Was holding out because everyone and his dog has one, it's boring. But have finally succumbed, sigh. I guess there's a *reason* why everyone and his dog has one. What tipped me over was realizing that it would easy to convert my drama files so I could watch off it. That, and being able to play Tetris and Sudoku on planes...

I love my iPhone, if only the other half would stop trying to upgrade it all the time and make it more whizz-bang than it already is. That's the problem with living with a tech geek. But on the other hand, he did convert all my dramas so that I could watch it on the tube. <3 They (men) are sometimes useful. :D

I don't know where else to put this because I don't visit Soompi or comment on K-pop gossip blogs. I only read dramabeans for my K-fix and thankfully she doesn't post about teenybopper, idol groups unless it pertains to acting.

Anyways, I just caught a glimpse of SonyeoShidae's music video and gross! I can't believe what they're doing to these girls. They're turning them into horny ajushis' fantasy sex-bots. Excuse my crass, but that's what it is!! I thought their Genie song was disgusting. "Tell me your wish. What's your fantasy girl? I'm your genie. Your dream." Gross!!! This new song has them dress up in skimpy cheerleading outfits and professing to being pretty so oppa please love me. Please, where's the eyerolling emoticon when you need it?

Every concept is a ridiculous male fantasy. They're about one music video away from portraying plastic, blown up sex dolls.

Where is the dignity of these girls?? I know, I know, they probably have to follow orders, but they all seem pretty enthusiastic playing it up for the cameras. As annoying as Taylor Swift may be, I can at least give her respect for not playing the sexy-girl-I'll-fulfill-your-fantasies act.

I could not agree with you more. I am addicted to my Crackberry, am wholly against iPhones (even if i did grow up 5 minutes from apple headquarters... but i abhor touch screen), and i cannot be without my 80GB iPod classic. I have entire dramas and my entire itunes library stored in there with tons of room to spare.

I'm so bummed out that I don't even have the energy to be enthusiastic about it being Friday, because right now all I have on my mind is, "Damn! My application for the stupid D. E. Shaw internship is due tomorrow!!" My school's career site is totally misleading - I seriously thought the dates they listed were the deadline dates, but turn out they're only the interview dates. Which means that the applications are all dew several days beforehand... so there goes my entire weekend! And I only found out last night!! Total FML moment right there.

On the other hand, I got myself hooked on Wish Upon A Star. Oh the hilarity, LOL. And the kids are so cute, maybe not all in terms of looks, but DEFINITELY in terms of the way they act. They're amazing. I want siblings like that, haha. I can't believe WISFC has already finished - I still need to catch up on that.

Anybody else following the Jdramas this turn? There are quite a few I'm following - Perfect Girl Evolution (cute), Bloody Monday 2 (intense, like 24, which I'm ALSO watching, the new season so far is pretty good), and Naka nai to Kimeta Hi (this is so... scary and creepy...).

Naka nai to Kimeta Hi has Kaname Jun and Fujiki Naohito (GREAT reasons for me to watch this drama, especially Kaname Jun, ahahahaha)... but the entire premise/storyline has got me really creeped out. It's about a career girl who is constantly bullied in the workplace. And the thing is, it's not like straight-out schoolyard big bully stealing my lunch money bullying, it's the super scary passive aggressive-ness that is prevalent in the entire workplace, where every single worker in her division hates her. Like, straight out, hates her. The environment is just, so scary... Is anyone else watching this / has comments?

One last thing. Can someone please explain to me why the popularity of SNSD? I seriously SERIOUSLY do not understand it. Okay, maybe I can understand it in guys, but in girls? I don't understand. Please, someone explain it to me. Doesn't make sense to me.

wow!! 120GB? that's a lot of music and vids. i have an 8gb mp3 and i'm pretty satisfied w/ that already. i just need a phone upgrade, but don't want to spend the big bucks to get an iphone or crackberry.. plus, i won't have any of the cool "web" access either.. i'd accomplish absolutely NOTHING if i had access at my fingertips! :D

oh, any tech savvy ppl got recommendations for specs/brands for a laptop? i'll be needing one in the next 3-4 months in preparation for going back to school. my desktop at home is pretty decent considering it's 4 yrs old, but looking to go wireless anyway.. thanks, in advance.

Completely agree about Wish Upon A Star. Mondays are now vastly improved with that to look forward to. So cute! Even the bad hair is growing on me. But Shin Dong-wook is WAY too thin. And that's saying something, because I've always been partial to skinny guys.

I tried Perfect Girl Evolution. Didn't like it. I'm a fan of the manga and to tell you the truth : the drama disappointed me. Really.They got wrong every single thing I liked in the manga and I was hoping to see in the drama.
Bloody Monday 2 is good, so far. If I'm not mistaken only ep.1 is out and I liked it. Good restart of the story. I just hope they don't rush it again towards the end like they did with S1. I hate sloppy storytelling.
I haven't seen Naka nai to Kimeta Hi but your description seems interesting. I really liked LIFE so I'll check this one too. Have you seen LIFE?

I can understand guys liking this concept... but I don't understand girls who are, well, completely obsessed with SNSD. As a girl myself, I don't see the appeal of them. They overplay the "cutesy" concept wayy too much. I'm a girl - nobody overdoses the "cutesy" concept more than the attention-grabbers, who are trying to get guys' attention. And usually those are the girls that personally, I wouldn't want to be friends with. For SNSD (and I understand it's a company promoting them with that image), it seems like they're exploiting that entire cute concept. From a feminist point of view, they're undermining their supposed image of being "girl power."

I couldn't stick through LIFE - got too scary for me. But maybe I'll revisit it some day. Bloody Monday, yeah, only the first episode is out, and things are heating up. The end of season 1 of Bloody Monday was... very random. I felt like they realized only last minute that they still needed to talk about K and then sloppily slipped that in... eek. It made the last part about K seem disjointed compared to the rest of season 1. About Perfect Girl Evolution... LOL, I can understand where you're coming from, but, haha, I am watching that as a "crack drama" in which I check my brain at the door and watch for pure entertainment. LOL.

Definitely check out Naka nai to Kimeta Hi, though. It's like LIFE, except in the workplace.

@A. I'll have to check out Naka Nai to Kimeta Hi.. I was sleeping through watching Kanno Mihos show and I watched an episode of Angels Bank. I like Kanno Miho, but I don't know about her new show. It's a mix of Hataraki Man! and Kiina and I've watched those shows so..... For some reason every episode uses a song from Michael Jacksons catalog which must be expensive as hell and is slowly murdering my ears because it really has no reason to be playing at all. Passive aggressive Japanese shows (which are usually school board/mothers who are crazy based) kind of make me want to slap someone, but I'll give it a try.

I keep thinking about how badly styled the guys' hairs are. The like, slicked back hair... oh, I haven't seen that in AGES!!! I can understand it watching one of those old school Kdrama, because, heck, that was "in" then or whatnot. Every time I see it, something inside me dies, but clearly it's not bothering me enough to stop watching the show, ahahaha. I love Wish Upon A Star - how unexpected, it never really made it onto any list of "wanted" list of dramas to watch for...

Yeah, I feel like there are a lot of shows about that subject, and they just keep chunking out new dramas with similar storylines/premises except with new names and everything. It's fascinating... but I am getting a bit tired of them.

Do try out Naka nai to Kimeta Hi. Fascinating stuff, although I do feel uncomfortable watching it, it's still fascinating. And Kaname Jun!!! And Fujiki Naohito (had a crush on him ever since I watched Hotaru no Hikari).

(Also, I am SO a SNSD hater too... I will hate on them forever. I got into a fight with my guy friend about this too, but we have gone into truce mode to never mention SNSD in a conversation. LOL.)

i totally agree with everything about SNSD. the cutesy look is overplayed.. but cutesy and slutty just should not go hand in hand. I'm not a hater.. i'm pretty neutral on SNSD.. i actually like the girls, just not their selling image/concept.

IMO, KARA is full of cute girls (i think Park Gyuri is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!) but they also aren't slutty either..

to me, 2NE1 embodies "girl power".. they're fun, dorks, yet strong.

but Brown Eyed Girls are classic sexy.. they are extremely attractive, have sex appeal, yet are so classy.. maybe cuz they're more mature? i love them!

Love Brown Eyed girls. They might be the only girl group I can stomach and yes they are sexy in a non-cloying annoying way and I have to rant that I can't stand the cute girly act by most girl groups especially when they open their eyes real wide and blow up their cheeks for the selca picts.That is my equivalent of the nail on chalkboard. It must be the feminist tomboy in me but I get seriously annoyed with helpless cutesy damsels in distress. BTW why can't they come out with the girl version of FT island. I think that is sexy to see a girl on drums.
