Im Joo-eun, Im Joo-hwan
Ooh, my interest level just went up one (possibly two) notches. Writer Song Ji-nah‘s (Story of a Man, Sandglass) new campus drama What’s Up, which just cast Big Bang’s Daesung, has added a notable new face to its cast in newcomer Im Joo-eun, who made a splash earlier this summer as the lead of horror series Hon.
Writer Song confirmed Im Joo-eun’s casting on December 8, explaining that they held auditions beginning in the fall. Word had begun to spread about Im Joo-eun as a strong actress, and Song said, “As she read, the directors and I exclaimed in awe, ‘Ohhhhh.’” In addition, Im is said to have a good singing voice, which works well with the drama’s backdrop at a university’s musical department.
Furthermore, rising talent Im Joo-hwan (who had his breakout last year in Tamra the Island) is now a frontrunner to lead the drama (though yet unconfirmed). What’s Up is looking more and more interesting…

I loved Im Joo-eun in Hon! Not a big fan of Daesung or did the plot excite me, so I was wondering whether or not I should catch the drama. But with Im Joo-eun and Im Joo Hwan added, totally going to catch the first episode and put it on the must-watch-list!
A bit OT, but doesn’t Im Joo Eun look like Aibu Saki in that photo? Or is it just me… as she really resembles a Japanese actress that I’ve seen before.

Never seen Hon but I’ll definitely watch this for Im Joo Hwan. I did a double take when I saw the name of the lead actress and I see Im Joo Hwan’s face next to hers. I was like “huh? must be a typo”. lol

Seriously, I can NOT wait to see him more. I hope he makes it big this time – although I think Tamra the Island added more popularity to him, he still hasn’t really gotten his “big break.” Though I think he truly deserves it.

Umm… I love Im Joo Hwan too and have been waiting and waiting for his next project but I don’t think this is confirmed yet…so I don’t want to get my hopes up in case of a big dissappointment… He is just a front runner meaning there are other actors in the running for the same role.

I just started watching Hon/Possessed/Soul recently and its awesome. I love it. I was so suprised to find out that it was her first lead role. Im Joo Eun is an amazing actress. Looking forward to this. I couldn’t manage to watch tamna island cuz seo woo was the lead actress and i still have hate towards her from cinderella sister, but happy to see this guy is in it. DaeSung is another pleasent surprize :3.
