Uhm Jung-hwa has a new movie coming out, which has released these stills. The thriller is called Bestseller, which recently wrapped filming, and revolves around a bestselling author who encounters a mysterious incident and chases after the truth.
Her character is a top novelist who had been accused of plagiarism in the past, and works toward making a grand comeback to overcome that stigma. However, when she writes a new novel after being inspired by a story her daughter tells, she once again gets caught up in plagiarism charges.
Divorcing from her husband (Ryu Seung-ryong of Level 7 Civil Servant), she chooses an out-of-the-way vacation house in the countryside to write her book, which gives the movie a “bleak atmosphere.” She starts to feel dread when sensing a frightening, unseen presence watching over her, with whom her young daughter starts to converse. (Shades of The Shining?)
Bestseller will open in April.

Once, I had decided to watch “the man who can’t marry” but because of her I couldn’t bear up and gave up watching (like the other movies, etc).

@ Snikki! I agree! Reading the description, I immediately thought “Secret Window?” I’m not a fan of her personally, but hope it turns out well. A movie about plagiarism possibly plagiarizing Secret Window? lol.
I like Uhm Jung Hwa. I may not be a big fan of her choices of roles in the past but I think she’s a great person otherwise. She’s funny and very outgoing!

I love Uhm Jung Hwa!! I’m a huge fan but for some reason, I never finish watching her dramas. I do finish watching her movies though. I am looking forward to this one.
This really sounds like Secret Window with Johnny Depp. And I don’t really like her as an actress (or a singer for that matter)….so meh.

I will definitely watch the movie. I like her acting because unlike other people she can act. BTW stop harping on her looks you should want to see a movie or drama based on the acting not how the actors look. That is shallow

Fantastic! She’s got the talent, and should have fun exploring diverse roles. With or without plastic surgery, she’s Uhm Jung Hwa, the artist who braves varied looks, roles, music, etc. And for that, I salute her.
