Yoo Gun makes his theater debut
by | February 15, 2010 | 11 Comments

Jung Il-woo isn’t the only screen actor currently earning positive reviews through a theater role; add Yoo Gun to the list of celebs taking a crack at upgrading his acting skills through theater. He’s currently appearing in the stage production of Thief’s Diary.

Thief’s Diary is a “comic and touching play” about the process of finding true happiness, which involves the conflict of money and love. Yoo has shown a surprising affinity for the flexible vibe of this theater production, managing to ad-lib and improvise smoothly while onstage. (It doesn’t hurt that there’s an undressing scene that allows the fit actor to show off his body.)

This is the theater debut for Yoo Gun, whose first drama was 2006′s Hello God, where he played a mentally disabled young man. He followed that with roles in Bad Couple and I Can’t Stop, as well as the cable series Mazzang (Fight).

Hello God was his first drama?
I’m surprised! His protrayal of a mentally disabled character was really noteworth! I recommend this show to anyone but with a weary caution since it deals with mental disability. The story resembles Flowers For Algernon so expect a lot of tearworks but at the same time laughs because it’s a really sweet and hearted drama.

I saw this guy play…..shall we say……… two completely different
people in “Hello God.” I recommend this (2006) 16 episode series
very highly. But please be warned. Your heart will be ripped out
and shredded into a million pieces.

    “Remember my name.”
