Speaking of new Monday-Tuesday dramas, here’s a look at another: MBC’s Dong Yi comes out the same day as SBS’s Oh! My Lady, albeit an hour later in the regular prime-time slot. These new posters feature Dong Yi‘s lead actress in the title role, Han Hyo-joo. In reference to her character’s initial status as a... More »

Wish Upon a Star: Episode 17
I liked this episode — it was a little mellower than the previous ones. Given the prominence of Jae-young’s dramatics in those prior episodes, I consider this a good thing. (Also: hardly any Jae-young today!) As we head toward the drama’s finish, we’re dealing less with the crazy bitchy rival lady and getting back to... More »

The movie had gone through an earlier casting round and selected Kim Hyun-joong as the cute “pet” to a fashion-editor careerwoman,... More »

SBS’s Bad Guy won’t premiere until May, but here’s our first look at the three lead characters, played by Kim Nam-gil, Han Ga-in, and Kim Jae-wook. (None yet of actress Oh Yeon-soo, who completes the main foursome.) These photos come from the production’s recent trip to Gero-onsen, one of the top three hot springs in... More »

Interview with Pasta’s scriptwriter
Here’s an interview with Seo Sook-hyang, who is the scriptwriter behind MBC’s drama Pasta. (The interview came out before last week’s two episodes aired.) With Pasta, Seo is now in her third miniseries, having previously written 2006′s Mr. Goodbye and 2008′s Lawyers of Korea, and has earned the designation of being “a writer of well-made... More »

Personal Taste (the novel): Part 1
I got my hands on the Personal Taste novel a little while ago, and started reading to whet my appetite for the upcoming drama (March 31!). I knew I’d be interested in this story based on the general premise — a man pretends to be gay in order to room with a woman — which... More »

Man-deok and Man Called God make respectable premieres
Two new dramas premiered this weekend, in two vastly disparate genres: KBS had its historical production Merchant Kim Man-deok, while MBC had action-hero drama A Man Called God. Both pulled in decent first-episode numbers, the former with an 11.9%, the latter with a 15.8%. The numbers only shifted slightly for the second episodes, which brought... More »

Hero: Episode 7
Hey guys! Sorry about the delay on this recap! Recently, my body has been rebelling against me, so I haven’t really been doing much but working and sitting around the house! I’m starting to feel better now, so let me get right back into things…. …With a fan girl moment! It’s a shirtless YDI reporter!... More »
