Lee Mi-sook in Harper’s Bazaar
by | April 1, 2010 | 32 Comments

Lee Mi-sook, who is currently acting in the KBS drama Cinderella’s Sister in the role of Cinderella’s stepmother, is featured in the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine, and she looks gorgeous. The photo shoot is in conjunction with fashion brand LABEIGE, and the concept portrays Lee as a glamorous femme fatale out of a classic film.

Lee’s current Cinderella’s Sister character is also described as something of a femme fatale, although I’d say she’s more of an opportunist. In any case, Lee Mi-sook is stunning for any age but it’s hard to believe she’s 50, isn’t it?

    dang – she’s HOT. she’s really got the body of a 30 year old…

i don’t know about femme fatale, but the second to the last picture makes her look more like grace kelly – or evokes that feeling

A truly great actress. Her screen presence is so commanding and powerful -contrasting with her slender, petite frame- that she would have graced and raised the level of the worst b-movie imaginable. I love everything about her, her voice, her face, the mastery of her expressive means (her understanding of when to let go of that mastery and of when to recover it), her composure, her enigmatic, elusive beauty. I have to say that it is thanks to my mother I was brought up in a way that has allowed me to appreciate Lee Mi Sook’s qualities. My mother’s favourite actress is, has always been, a Japanese actress, who starred in many of Kenji Mizoguchi’s films (from the late 30s and 40s), called Kinuyo Tanaka. Given that English country bumpkins (especially those brought up in the 60s) are not particularly known for their wide cultural horizons, my mother’s climbing over the intellectual walls of North Yorkshire’s vales and dales, was a remarkable feat of spirit. She loves Lee Mi Sook too, and she’ll be as delighted with these photos as I am. Thank you for posting them -and thank you for regularly posting news of this extraordinary woman.

When I saw the first picture, my initial thought was “Why is Christina Aguilera on Dramabeans?”

Then I realized it was the always ravishing LMS! She’s beyond beautiful, classy and talented all around. Yeah, she and the evil white haired dude was the best thing in EoE.

Looks great! The fourth pic certainly brings to mind Gloria Grahame. It’ll be great if Lee Mi-sook plays a femme fatale lead on the big screen again.

She clearly speaks for many LADIES above 30! Definately knows how to rock in style at her age! She was sooo stunning when She attended the MBC Drama Awards in 2008 (for EoE) I was impressed with her look. She doesn’t over do it, those dark lipstick always seem to look good on her!

    Is she married with kids?

I’ve found that there’s a lot of bachelors in Hallyuwood. Especially the generic men like So Ji Sub, Song Seung Heon, and Won Bin, Lee Jung Jae too! I don’t understand why….I know they are all probably dating someone….but ya……LOL they should all do an ero movie then get married xD!

50???? wtf, she doesn’t seem to age one bit since that movie….”The Affair?” I think?

‘Sigh why does this make me miss An Affair… Lee Jung Jae anyone?’

    Me, me too!
I love the film and I love the lovers in the film. Apart from being the movie that introduced me to Lee Mi Sook, one of the finest actresses in the world today, and to whom I could write endless chaste love letters, it also introduced me to Lee Jung Jae, to whom I could write endless unchaste love letters. I’m so thrilled he’s back in the remake of The Maid (and with Jeo Don-Yeon …the casting director should be given a Palme d’Or) that I’m thinking of spending my grant money on a ticket to Seoul for the opening (although I speak not a word of Korean). Is there a soul kind enough in that ruthless industry to release it on dvd (and subbed)soon? Like NOW!

P.S. Why do people think marriage is everybody’s idea (and ideal) of happiness? For many of us, that is our idea of hell. Also acting is a great, demanding art (of course, not for bad actors who are not burdened by demands). I have two actor friends who prefer acting to ‘being in a relationship’, or to anything else for that matter, and they’re far more depressed and miserable when out of work and without a project than after a break up or when out of love.
