sigh. i just watched the china’s adaptation of all about eve first episode. grahh. it feels weird. jang hyuk is hot. and chae rim only appeared for about. 2 scenes? sigh. she was the (who died in the opening) jang hyuk ex girl-friend. watching it in chinese feels weird.

this is the first korean series that i started to be addicted. chae rim is so great in her role in all about eve. i watched this for almost 5x.
when i heard that she had a cameo appearance here i became more excited to watch this remake.
CHAE RIM is my no. 1 korean actress hope she do another series w/ ALEC SU.

Chae Rim will play a senior anchor who is/was in a relationship with Jang Hyuk’s character in the drama. Her character will eventually die (in a car accident/ illness?), and the role was not in the original drama.

Anyway, it was said that Jang Hyuk personally contacted Chae Rim to have a cameo in the drama, even though they haven’t even met. Weird that their first meeting happened in China.

I like Chaerim, i always just find her extremely likable in her roles. I mean you can’t help but root for her. While she is not as striking as some Korean actresses, she does have a face you don’t get tired of.

oh the hostility, abcdefg. Could have been nicer if someone was mistaken….

So yes the korean AAE is not a remake of the american classic, “all about eve”, but it was loosely inspired by it…the rivalry between 2 women involved in the same profession, with one woman being really conniving and with a hidden past. So perhaps the writer thought that type of storyline was intriguing and wrote a drama around it and gave it the name “all about eve” as an homage. I can see why someone may be protective of both the korean and the american. they are both classics in their own ways. But since the entertainment industry is more about money than anything else, it’s a win-win situation for both s.korea and china to remake AAE. Korea gets paid for selling the rights. And China can make money off a drama that was originally acted in by Chae-rim, who is very popular in China.

anyways, i can’t say i’m satisfied with the casting…i love Jang Hyuk but he doesn’t seem suited for the role. Perhaps he’s tired of the intensity of his Chuno role and need a break and this drama will be great for him because he can also gain more recognition in China. Cheryl Yang seems too friendly for me to be the 2nd female lead. But Jang Hyuk is a great actor and and Cheryl Yang is pretty solid, so who knows. And Zhu Dan seems like a newcomer…. Anyways, I hope Chae-rim can shed some of the ajumma-ness for her short appearance here.
