Movie Poetry to be shown in the U.S.

The movie Poetry (director: Lee Chang Dong), which won best screenplay at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival is anticipated to be released in the US in the fall.
Regardless that Poetry‘s genre is not an easy one to export to other countries, Poetry has been gathering much attention from the beginning and has sold overseas release rights to 9 countries including France, Taiwan, Greece, Spain, Brazil, and the US. In addition, other nations such as Japan, Hong Kong, and Thailand are actively seeking for release rights in their respective countries.
(The plot: A grandmother in her sixties copes with the onset of Alzheimer’s by attempting to write poetry. She lives with her grandson and learns that his bullying had something to do with the suicide of a girl, his junior high school classmate. Like Lee’s previous film Secret Sunshine, a central theme of Poetry is a woman coming to terms with loss. —javabeans)

This looks like such an amazing movie, and I'm thrilled to hear it's getting global attention. Too bad I'm stuck in the midwest where it won't likely be played. 8| Oh well, there's always DVDs!

We watched Poetry tonight at the Landmark Theatre in Minneapolis. Well worth it!

Yes, I've been seeing a few Korean Dramas such as Iris, My Lovely Sam Soon, Coffee Prince, Pasta, and Queen Seon-deok. I was pleasently surprised!
Poetry sounds like a great movie. I'll definitely watch it.

I just heard about this from a friend of mine.... states did very well at the Cannes Festival. Looking forward to seeing it.
Great to see kdramas on Hulu. I see Dramafever has somekind of partner with them. That's good news, because the quality of their videos is always top notched.

Can't wait~~ I have been a big fan of dr. Lee Chang Dong.. since his 2nd film - Peppermint Candy (highly recommend!!)

Korean Cinema is really amazing! :P
I'd love to watch this movie , but i'm not sure if would able to handle watching it. I have a close family member that has Alzheimer and it's so sad to see someone you love fading away day by day and the last time I watched a movie that talked about Alzheimer, IRIS (movie with Judi Dench & Kate Winslet), I spent the hole night crying. :/
