Oh My Lady: Episode 16 (Final)

Ah, the end is here! I suspect this episode made most if not all fans very happy, as it tied up the plot in a light-hearted but satisfactory way that was in keeping with the tone of the drama. It’s too bad that things didn’t get really compelling until about Episode 10 (then stepped it up with Episode 12 on — incidentally when Yura took a big step backward — coincidence? I think not) — which is frankly rather late for me to be connecting with a drama.

It’s to the actors’ credit that their amusing and sweet interactions were able to carry the plot until the story finally managed to tap into that emotional place with Min-woo’s growth as a father and as a person. I’m just glad that this one ended on a high note, because so many finale episodes feel like a letdown — they’re either too rushed or dragged out as an extended epilogue.

FINAL EPISODE RECAP

Min-woo asks Kae-hwa to be Ye-eun’s mother, explaining that he had purposely waited to ask her until after the musical premiered. Nobody could be as good a mother to Ye-eun as she is, “And I need you. Let’s marry.”

(Omo! Usually when episodes end on cliffhangers, the next episode drops the tension back down, but in this case they just upped the ante.)

Kae-hwa is stunned, but Min-woo adds, “I’m not saying this out of the blue. I’ve thought this over seriously for a long while. Think it over, then give me your answer. I can wait as long as you need.”

Min-woo is invited along for a celebratory drink with The Show Co. staff, and Jae-hee remarks that it feels like Min-woo’s a part of their office family now, seeing as he has come to all their gatherings. Min-woo smiles and, while looking at Kae-hwa, says pointedly, “I think so too. It feels like a family.”

He’s extra solicitous to her, offering little things like napkins and such, which Shi-joon finds amusing while Kae-hwa is exasperated. When the others urge her to drink more, Min-woo swoops in to play the “black knight,” i.e, drink for her.

Min-woo’s behavior is so noteworthy that Jae-hee asks teasingly if their fake scandal is actually real. Kae-hwa blurts, “No!” just as Min-woo answers, “Yes.” (Such a mixed reaction makes the others think there’s more to this relationship than they’re letting on, and they exchange knowing looks.) Kae-hwa rises to leave early because of the kids, and Min-woo hurriedly excuses himself too, accompanying her out.

Kae-hwa is impatient with his exaggerated attentiveness, and says that she’ll give her answer now: “I’m not going to marry again.” He asks her to think about it some more, but she replies that a lot of thought has already gone into making this decision (not to remarry).

A bit indignant, he says it’s cowardly to swear off marriage because her first one failed. Maybe she just met the wrong guy the first time — it’s always possible she’ll meet a good person the second time around.

Kae-hwa replies that she doesn’t want to entertain such an expectation, and besides, she has Min-ji. He counters that a daughter isn’t a husband — and once Min-ji grows up and gets married, will she be fine being alone? That makes her pause briefly, but she reasserts her stance.

Min-woo: “Are you that afraid?”
Kae-hwa: “Yes, I am! Do you know what marriage is?”
Min-woo: “‘What do you know when you have no life experience?’ Is that what you’re telling me?”
Kae-hwa: “You haven’t been hurt so you don’t know. You don’t know what that pain is of promising to love each other for the rest of your life and having that shattered. So please don’t talk to me about marriage again. I’m sorry to say it like this.”

She walks off, leaving him pondering her words.

Kae-hwa’s words make him look deeper into the cause of her resistance. Thus the next morning, he intercepts Byung-hak just as the latter is leaving his house (humming “Sorry Sorry” in a meta moment, lol).

Min-woo gets to the point, asking aggressively what the heck Byung-hak did to Kae-hwa to make her swear off marriage forever. Byung-hak returns that this is hardly his concern, but Min-woo says it matters “because it’s a hindrance to her marrying me.”

Byunk-hak’s reaction is pure confusion: “Why?” Why would he want a woman like Kae-hwa when he’s a star? Min-woo presses on with his question, which elicits a roundabout answer about how she’s a difficult and tiring woman to live with. Min-woo watches with narrowed eyes, reading between the lines — he cheated, huh?

Defensively, Byung-hak turns it around on Kae-hwa, saying she doesn’t know how to make herself pretty; it felt like he was living with a housekeeper. In fact, he never bought even her flowers — not because he forgot or anything, but simply because he never felt inspired to buy them for her. You know, since looks are the only reason for loving a woman and all. (I’m not even offended by this comment, because Byung-hak is such a silly idiot that the sentiment has no sting coming from him.)

Min-woo asks if he ever apologized for hurting her. Byung-hak laughs, saying it’s embarrassing to do that. Min-woo tells him firmly, “Apologize to her. Ask her officially for her forgiveness.” Byung-hak finds this an odd demand coming from Min-woo, who replies, “I’m asking as the man who loves her.”

Now that Min-woo has made up his mind to woo Kae-hwa, he gets busy trying to win her over. For instance, he waits outside her apartment to give the girls a ride to school, and reacts in concern to hear Kae-hwa hasn’t eaten breakfast. After dropping off the girls, he takes her to a fancy buffet, where he even serves her.

Kae-hwa worries over the pricy food, trying to convince him to watch his spending because he must have lost a lot of money in the cancelled endorsement deals. Min-woo answers matter-of-factly that they probably add up to about 3 billion won ($2.5 million), but is unfazed. He’s got money in the bank and is confident he can get more work; he’ll consider this a luxurious hiatus from work.

Unimpressed, Kae-hwa urges him to adopt a frugal attitude and says she’s better off than he is, since at least she has a regular salary.

At work, a huge arrangement of red roses is delivered, addressed to Kae-hwa from Min-woo. While the other employees all smile at her knowingly, Kae-hwa tries to explain it away in innocent terms: “Can’t this be a thank-you?” They don’t buy it for a second.

Min-woo sends her a text, which is totally over-the-top and ridiculous (“More beautiful than a flower… Kae-hwa”). Embarrassed and uncomfortable, Kae-hwa says she’ll clear the flowers out of the office and takes them to the stairwell, thinking Min-woo is being shameless. But they do bring a smile to her face, as it’s been ages since she’s received flowers from anyone (which is why Min-woo made the gesture in the first place, in reaction to Byung-hak’s remark).

Next, Min-woo takes a cake to Bok-nim in thanks for treating Ye-eun, then asks for a favor, as she is a friend to Kae-hwa. His statement that “I’m intending to marry Yoon Kae-hwa” so shocks her that Bok-nim drops her coffee and stares at him incredulously.

Bok-nim rushes to ask Kae-hwa about it, wanting to know when the wedding is. She dismisses Kae-hwa’s grumbling that he’s just a kid — 28 is plenty grown-up, and the seven-year age difference is nothing. How can she let a guy like him slip through her fingers?

Kae-hwa grumbles that Min-woo’s proposal asked her to be Ye-eun’s mother, not his wife. Bok-nim sees through Kae-hwa’s complaining and smiles: “You really do like Min-woo.” That’s why she’s disappointed over the wording of his proposal, right? Bok-nim waves aside her resistance, saying that if they like each other, what’s the big deal? In her eyes, Min-woo is serious about her.

Min-woo takes the family out to a nice restaurant. Kae-hwa is self-conscious about coming to a place like this where they’ll be watched, but Min-ji enjoys eating out for once, and Min-woo tells her that it doesn’t matter to him. He pats Ye-eun on the head, saying, “I’m going to raise her proudly, since she’s my daughter.” Which is probably the most effective thing he could have said to impress her, and she allows herself to look at him with moony eyes (but only when he’s not looking back at her).

When Kae-hwa takes Ye-eun to the bathroom, Min-woo tries to make conversation with Min-ji. He sees this as a chance to suss out her thoughts and asks if she’d like having a sister like Ye-eun. Min-ji is pretty sharp and asks point-blank, “Are you going to marry my mother?” Her bluntness takes him by surprise, but he confides that he wants to. Still, he has to first hear out Min-ji’s opinion and wait for her mother’s answer.

She asks, “If you end up marrying my mother and then a prettier lady comes along, are you going to divorce my mom?” Min-woo gapes incredulously, but Min-ji points out that he works with beautiful actresses all the time: “If you betray my mother, it’ll be so sad for her.”

He tells her solemnly, “That’ll never happen. I’ll promise that to you.” They pinky-swear on it.

The musical continues its run and after another of Min-woo’s performances, he calls Kae-hwa, who is working late — or at least, she lies that she is. He offers to pick her up from the office, but for whatever reasons (fear, insecurity, nerves), Kae-hwa rejects the offer.

Reporter Han overhears Min-woo muttering to himself after the call, and says knowingly that he must be stuck in an unrequited love. Min-woo is wary, but Reporter Han has some insights about the situation, and his comments pique Min-woo’s curiosity. Wanting to hear more thoughts on his situation, Min-woo goes along with the reporter’s suggestion to grab a drink.

Kae-hwa works late, keeping herself busy to avoid going home right away. Finding her still in the office, Shi-joon offers her a ride home, and they pause for a break to talk. Tentatively, Kae-hwa says she hopes that he and his wife can give things another try, as it seems they still care for each other. Although Shi-joon doesn’t respond, he’s not offended by her statement and in fact seems to consider her words.

He turns the topic to Min-woo, asking how things are between them. Kae-hwa can’t feign ignorance since Shi-joon knows too much, but first she asks how much he knows. He answers, “One person is sending flowers, but the other person doesn’t seem ready to receive them.”

She confirms that Min-woo seems to be serious about a relationship but she’s not sure; she doesn’t feel confident that she can be seen “as a woman” to anybody. Shi-joon tells her she can — enough that he felt something for her for a short while. This stuns her, as he had never given any hint of his interest, but Shi-joon assures her that there is no cause for alarm. He has dealt with his feelings, and things won’t get awkward between them.

Liquor loosens Min-woo’s reserve (and his tongue) enough that he starts to talk freely about his woes, wondering how Kae-hwa can reject his proposal. Grabbing his laptop, the reporter starts to take notes, asking questions about why she rejected him and how long he’s had feelings for her. And I love Min-woo’s answer:

Min-woo: “Since we went looking for Ye-eun. No — since she had to go to the sauna because of me. No — since she fought with Mr. Jung [Yoon-seok]. Or was it from the beginning?”

Reporter Han says he must like her quite a lot, and Min-woo answers, “Yes, an awful lot. She’s different from the women I dated in the past. She’s beautiful. That’s why I think, ‘This is my woman.'” With that, he falls asleep, his head coming to rest on the tabletop.

Huh — well, this is a new side to Min-woo, and the reporter finds him pretty pure-hearted after all. It’s nothing like the partying image he’d had earlier. He starts typing a story about Min-woo’s “heartfelt love story” and uses words like “rebirth as a real actor.”

Han’s article spawns a wave of press, which now portrays Min-woo in a much more down-to-earth, humanistic light. They even declare that he has now washed off the disgrace of his former image as a lousy actor.

Yoon-seok is dissatisfied — I guess this good press does him no good, since he has lost his hold on Min-woo — but everyone else’s opinion of Min-woo makes a drastic upswing. He presents himself modestly in interviews, and even producer Eom is impressed with him. In fact, Eom gives himself credit for having recognized Min-woo’s talents early on, but Byung-hak scoffs since he didn’t do anything about them. Eom counters that he’ll get Min-woo for his next production.

Eom isn’t the only one wanting to cast Min-woo, and Shi-joon conveys an offer to Min-woo from a Japanese producer colleague, who has sent a proposal for Min-woo to take a role in a Japanese drama. Min-woo is pleased with the news, but as soon as he sees that he’d have to live in Japan for a year, he declines. Shi-joon thinks it’s a great opportunity, but Min-woo answers that he has somebody to watch over here.

And that’s not all: Jae-hee hands Kae-hwa some documents to give to Min-woo, which are papers for a new advertising contract offer worth 1 billion won (nearly $1 million). Apparently advertisers love his new image as a dedicated young single father.

Kae-hwa takes the documents to Min-woo’s photo shoot, where he takes a break from posing for a makeup touchup. The makeup artist tells him that his “scandal partner” (Kae-hwa) is really below his level, and offers to introduce him to a younger model friend. She describes the girl as one of those innocent-looking beauties, to which Min-woo answers, “I like sexy women.”

Naturally this is hardly thrilling for Kae-hwa to hear, even though Min-woo is actually making that quip as a way to reject the date. (Rather than saying no outright, saying that he prefers sexy women is a way of declining her friend, who is the opposite.)

Feeling dispirited, Kae-hwa decides not to approach and starts to leave. She runs into Yura, who congratulates her on her relationship and assures her that she has decided to move on.

Kae-hwa hands the envelope to Yura and asks for her to give it to Min-woo, making up the excuse that she’s busy and has to leave. Yura does, and when Min-woo hears the reason, he hurries out and tries to call Kae-hwa. Alas she isn’t answering the phone, so he goes to the theater, where he is told she is still back at the office.

Shi-joon finds her on the roof ignoring Min-woo’s phone call, and offers her a beer. In her melancholy mood, Kae-hwa offers to tell Shi-joon a “really funny story” and confides that Min-woo proposed to her. Even funnier is the fact that her heart thrilled to hear it. It was exciting to be seen as a woman again — but today, that feeling was shattered.

I’d assumed she was hurt by the makeup stylist’s dismissive comments about her, but I’m actually relieved that those words weren’t the cause of her mood. In actuality, it was the sight of him in action, looking like a star, that made her feel like they were completely unsuited for each other: “He seemed like someone from another land.”

Shi-joon points out that Min-woo was a star from the start — it’s not like she didn’t know. Kae-hwa answers that at the beginning, he had nothing to do with her so that wasn’t an issue. But as they got to know each other, she saw him struggling and felt sorry for him, and nagged him when he said silly things — and those things felt comfortable and manageable. Now that he’s doing better… it’s like he’s back to being a lofty star and the chasm is growing between them.

Shi-joon tells her that Min-woo likes her very much — enough to give up a drama opportunity for her. “Min-woo has changed this much — shouldn’t you recognize his feelings?”

Min-woo arrives at the office to find it empty, then recalls the roof. He arrives outside just in time to see Kae-hwa wiping away some tears. So much about this situation upsets him, and he strides up to her, grabs her wrist (urg!), and takes her downstairs.

He feels hurt that she has been ignoring his calls and avoiding him, particularly when she knew he was waiting for her — and now she’s here crying in front of Shi-joon — and raises his voice to a yell. Kae-hwa tells him levelly that she has already given him her reply, but he ignored it. No matter how she thinks about it, they don’t suit.

He argues that if he cared about those things — age, status — he would never have liked her from the start. She returns that this is just proof that he’s young, and they should quit while they’re ahead. And he should go to Japan.

That gets his attention: “Is that why?” He explains that he didn’t tell her about the Japan offer because he never intended to go. She takes issue with his high-handedness in dragging her away, saying that she’s ashamed of him when he does that, and gets angry and starts fights out of misunderstandings.

Min-woo asks, “So are you saying you can’t marry me? Are you saying I won’t do because I’m immature and young?” Kae-hwa answers yes. She can’t marry someone who reacts in such unpredictable ways — it makes her feel uneasy. She storms off, leaving him to shout her name in frustration.

You know, I’m actually relieved that they had this fight. They’ve never fought for real, and this addresses issues that they’ve been skirting thus far. It’s also nice to see some real conflict — genuine emotional clashing and hurt feelings — rather than the glib, fluffy sort of conflict that has characterized most of this show.

That night, Byung-hak calls Kae-hwa, who finds him drunk and in a thoughtful mood. To her surprise, he tells her, “I’m sorry.” He acknowledges that he never apologized properly, so he’s doing it now. She did nothing wrong — he’s the bad guy — and they divorced because he wronged her. But he felt too embarrassed to apologize, so he couldn’t do it: “But after listening to Sung Min-woo, I felt I was really wrong, and that I had to apologize. So I came here.”

That surprises her — he met Min-woo? Byung-hak gives Min-woo some credit for the way he had insisted he apologize, admitting that the kid was pretty impressive with the way he said, “As the man who loves Yoon Kae-hwa, please apologize.”

He says it one more time: “Kae-hwa, I’m sorry. I was wrong. I pushed you aside and hurt your feelings — forgive me for everything. Forget that all, and make a new start. And if he upsets you, come and tell me right away, and I’ll give him a scolding.”

(Aww. An unexpectedly touching moment from Byung-hak. As with the last time he defended Kae-hwa, this gives us a glimpse into why they were married in the first place while also showing us why they didn’t work. It’s rare to see ex-spouses in a drama ending on amicable terms, and it’s a nice change.)

Min-woo comes home feeling frustrated, and looks over his drama proposal documents. This gives him an idea, and he starts typing away. And when we see what he’s drafting — gahhh, Min-woo is so cute. I about died reading the title of his document: “Proposal On Living For Yoon Kae-hwa.”

In the morning, he comes to her apartment and gives her the envelope. He looks at her with puppy dog eyes and tells her to give her response after reading it.

Kae-hwa reads Min-woo’s proposal, which is formatted like a business document. In keeping with the theme of the drama proposal packet, he has drawn up Kae-hwa’s resumé, only it’s more like a life resumé than a professional one, outlining her traits and skills such as “she has a loud voice,” “makes killer ddukbokki and kimbap,” and “she likes Kim Myung-min better than Sung Min-woo, but I want to forgive her anyway.” Also of note: she has become a mother to Ye-eun, “and now is the woman in my heart.”

Under the “future plans” column, he has scheduled marriage in a month, a vacation cruise to celebrate their one-year anniversary, and so forth. Byung-hak’s apology had started to melt her resolve, and now she has to smile a teeny bit at Min-woo’s document.

Jung-ah has been offered a job in Daejeon, which is located in central Korea and about a two-hour drive from Seoul. She asks Shi-joon for his approval, suggesting that they need some space between them. As she leaves, she tells him that she realizes she hasn’t been the best wife to him either (I presume she means before the adultery, since otherwise that statement would be met with a resounding DUH).

But the door isn’t closed on them forever — with Shi-joon now opening up more to Jung-ah and realizing his part in driving his wife away, it looks like they’re leaving room for a reconciliation later, after they’ve both healed. Shi-joon even says he’ll go down to visit her on the weekend.

Min-woo performs another show, after which he checks his phone and tries to contain his disappointment that Kae-hwa hasn’t called. To his (happy) surprise, Kae-hwa finds him sitting in the empty theater, here with a much more conciliatory attitude than the last time they saw each other.

As we know, important conversations must always relocate to prettier environs (can you imagine that car ride over to the waterside? Most awkward silence ever).

Kae-hwa apologizes for her harsh words, telling Min-woo that she didn’t mean it when she pushed him away. She asks for his understanding and also thanks him for thinking of her life and her future (i.e., in his proposal) in such a serious way.

Min-woo has been looking pensive and tense throughout her speech, like he’s bracing himself, sensing that she’s ready to deliver her final decision. So it takes a moment for her next words to really sink in, as she tells him:”So I’m thinking of being courageous now. Thanks to you, I think I can do that now.”

She adds that she’d always thought she would just focus on being a solid support for Min-ji’s benefit, “But if things get hard, it’s okay if lean on someone now.” Min-woo smiles and steps forward to hug her gently, thanking her for her answer. Kae-hwa thanks him back for letting her be courageous again.

Min-woo then thanks her for watching over him and Ye-eun all this while. He promises that from now on, he’ll protect her.

And then they get the swirly-camera kiss — which is a nice way to bookend the drama, considering that this is very similar to how we started. Only, now it actually means something.

The end!

COMMENTS

I picked up Oh My Lady because (1) when it started I had the time, as none of the current Wednesday-Thursday shows had premiered yet and I had no other recap commitments, (2) I had just finished its timeslot predecessor Wish Upon a Star, which was a happy surprise, and therefore anticipated a similar tone for this one, and (3) I wanted to keep up the watching and recapping momentum. There’s also (4) the matter of loving Chae Rim (and wanting her to pick a more enjoyable project than her last, Good Job, Good Job) and (5) the fact that I had pegged Choi Siwon as an idol-star-turned-actor to watch out for after Story of Hyang Dan back in ’07. (See? There IS some thought that goes into these decisions, however random the choices may ultimately seem!)

About halfway through the drama, however, I found my interest flagging, but not enough to drop the show. Even the less interesting episodes were easy to watch, and it wasn’t a challenging show in either theme or plot, so keeping up wasn’t too much of a hardship. I did, however, start thinking that if the actual plot development got any SLOWER, I would seriously consider dropping it.

Ultimately I’m glad I stuck with the show, and the last four episodes in particular gave me a sense of satisfaction about the drama as a whole. It turned into a different drama than the one it originally seemed — which pointed at the hijinks of a star falling for his ajumma maid/manager — and focused much more on Min-woo’s development as a father than as a romantic partner. I don’t think the romance came out of nowhere, but it wasn’t a priority, and that was actually refreshing.

I won’t call Choi Siwon a brilliant actor — he’s pretty decent, but he’s still got a long way to go if he’s going to keep pursuing an acting career, and I think he should — so rather than pure acting skills, it’s his personal charm that carries the character. I mean, just look at that smile, right?

It doesn’t hurt that he’s perfectly cast — image isn’t everything, but it’s a pretty significant part of how we approach a character. And when you cast a star to play a star, you’ve always got that benefit of the audience’s meta awareness of the actor’s real-life fame. (Also see: Choi Ji-woo in A Star’s Lover, Rain in Full House, Jang Geun-seok in You’re Beautiful, Kim Ah-joong in Accidental Couple.)

It was a leetle disappointing to have so little screentime for the two girls in the last episode, but we’ve seen enough of the Cute in previous episodes that I was content to let this finale be Min-woo and Kae-hwa’s exclusively. (Well, there were a few Shi-joon and Jung-ah moments, but I choose to skip right over them in my mind. Yawn. I’m satisfied, story-wise, with where they ended, but don’t need to dwell any longer on them.)

And then there’s Chae Rim. To be honest, I don’t think this is the best vehicle for her, even though the drama really benefits from having her in it. Therefore I’m glad for the drama’s sake, but she’s an actress whose talents weren’t fully used here — particularly since her character was less developed than Min-woo’s, and hardly changed at all. She made the most of it, tapping into a vulnerable side of Kae-hwa that gave the character a hint of depth. But I hope to see her tackling something more challenging in the future, and something out of the ajumma mold, as she’s done two in a row.

All in all, Oh My Lady was a sweet, cute series that could be a fun way to spend a breezy weekend with some unchallenging but personable characters, and that will leave you smiling at the end.

... I shouldn't post anything until I'm done packing but I just cannot help it.... I LOVE this place--OMLHOOD-HAVEN....@ Kappy--I just try and do what you do before posting, get a piece of paper write down everyone's names and corresponding post number-but I have a tendency to rush and just get things over and done with--soo my posts end up with lots of typos and of course forgotten thoughts and rebuttals to everyone's posts and "gosh" darn it, I forgot to comment on that...

By the way before I go on...it's already 350 posts....yahoo!!! 'agree to " menci's response to Special mention @ Sobia. “Counting # 10,090,560. How OML relate to Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity, part 2 …” LOLOLOLOLOL. You’re so funny!" oh Menci--I wish you had let me know sooner--I truly am miles and miles away from you, but one of my kimchi sisters just left for New York for a quick break from San Diego--I am from the Ventura County area, north of L A.... I would have had her bring you the AAE dvds to New York and meet up with you somewhere in NJ... truly...!!! TRULY!!......I've got the boxed set and knock off, I'll get back to you... so to 400 and beyond and again @ Sobia's Einstein's Theory of Relativity..... we are so open minded that anything can and will relate to OML, no doubt about it.

Have you guys started to read the many crazy--entertainin--LOL entries on JB's
kdrama addiction contests!!!!! ... and I thought I was nutts, there are worse people than me!!! or is it US!!!

I just feel so at home when I come here... There's just no hour or even minutes for me unless I check into rehab/treatment/ in this here rant and rave........ just like
@49 luvthisdrama

So back to OML... again rewatching the many episodes or just skimming, I find it quite amazing that MW is a really nice guy, though he does get easily irritated at KH at times. After finding out that KH had done the DNA test without his knowledge, MW easily forgives KH. How about the spoiled leftovers being left on the counter and MW eating them then getting the hives/allergies preventing him from being on the catwalk for YR. Of course prior to that was crazy MW manager scaring KH into spilling the beans about YE and her part in the mess. After each incident, it seems that if it was reality, man I'd fire KH. But MW is such a sweet kid at times. Sooo, on to watch more OML while I'm packing, it can be done... I've practically memorized the whole drama!!!

Oh, you guys have got to watch My Country Calls--it's hilarious, it's got its own charm... it's on Veoh by the way... No I don't have time but I find it, just like any resourceful Kdrama addict!!!

@48, 49 luvthisdrama as for the scene with SJ and MW after the sauna, yes it was one of the best scenes. I was totally surprised that MW called SJ to meet up and speak about MW's slowly crumbling world and SJ's simple advice. I was touched that MW was adult and brave enough to face and accept SJ's criticism and advice. As for SuJu I also like Neorago, it's catchy--not boring at all, it's the last video where all the 13 members were together. It saddens me that not all of them are together. I rewatch the last ep of Full House on Veoh with Eng subs and Hang Geng is such a good sports, he always got punished but he took that and did what he had to. Good luck to him in China and the world. He has many fans, including me!! ... SuJu's 2nd album have some of the best songs, but it's probably because I've become really familiar with them, can even sing along or do a MWlike sing-a-long (of Maria (West Side Story) in episode 12)... you know just humming along 'cuz I don't know the words--it's in Hangul, so it's okey... I'll learn them soon.!! and are you guys like me also, my van has a 5 cd disc changer and every single one is Kpop... one is of Kdrama ost, Kpop ballads, Kpop dance songs, SuJu M, Kpop instrumental and SuJu 2jib...... and no one is allowed to touch them!!! Who ever rides in my van will have to bear with my Kpop music addiction too... My cd alarm has SuJu 4jib on it, lots of times I forget that I keep getting surprised when I start to hear their songs in the morning...... okey, enough!!!

So again, have a good weekend every Angel... in the OMLhaven--hood.

You gals and guys are amazing - the OMLhood is now marching towards 400!!

It's fantastic to see Siwon cast in Athena (in fact, so soon after only finishing OML recently which is not common). Now, I do want to know what will Chae Rim's next project be. Earlier there was the news of her reprising Maggie Cheung's role in Comrade, Almost a Love Story (Tian Mi Mi) alongside Park Yong-ha but nothing further has come forward. As Jang Dong-gun will have his drama comeback, wouldn't it be perfect that the two of them team up again? I had a re-watch of All About Eve in the last two days, they really are one of the perfect couples in Kdramas. Chae Rim has already had two adjumma roles in a row and should really take up something more sharp and flashy.

Having said that, I truly appreciate that they don't give her a 'makeover' scene in OML. It's funny how people said what a cliched drama OML was when this drama first aired - but this is one standard kdrama cliche that they did not do at all! On another note of CR's fashion, I thought and got confirmation in my AAE re-watch that YKH's light blue dress to the muscial in OML is quite similar to the JSM's white/blue dress to the TV's station anniversary party in AAE, although the former is quite a toned down version.

Added to Mel's recommendation, I can wholeheartedly recommend My Country Calls. A great comedy and the only one that hooked me since OML. The only other drama I'm watching currently is Bad Guy but it didn't draw me in as much as MCC.

Wow, the posts are coming fast ! Thanks! I'll go back to read them later, but just want to thank @48luvthisdrama; and we are ever lasting fans of OML-KH-MW:)

@50menci, enjoy reading your bit on Athena cast but I'm a bit confused with SW and CSW. Who is who hah ?

I'm happy to read that some of you has started new dramas; sigh, for me, I still can't get over OML and continue re-watching it, paying particular attention to those scenes mentioned in your posts. Previously I didn't pay much attention to the interactions between shijoon and MW, but having read your comments and went back to those scenes, I now appreciated the role shijoon played in the growing up of MW. In fact, we have to thank him for punching MW which lead him to visit KH at the sauna and resulted in that big leap in the relationship :)

I'm having a tough time next week but I know there's a place I can go to after fighting the real-life battle ...... Thanks, OML hood freinds!

@Doraemon SW or Siwon and CSW or Choi Si Won are one in the same person. Choi is Siwon's surname so he is referred to in both ways. So now that's part of your homework, find out the last names of a each SuJu members.... He, he, he...

SuJu's Full House is on Veoh as well as their other variety shows.enjoy!!

@epyc I agree with you about KH not having a make over. She looked young to me,
it always bothered me that everyone wanted her to have a makeover. If everyone would just look at Char Rim during the original premiere-press meeting, CR looked ethereal, very young and glamorous...

Again, it's fascinating to still be hooked to OML, I haven't "moved on" I'm still an OML die hard just checking out the new dramas and currently enjoying My Country Calls--Ryu Jin is hilarious here...

Good night Angels in the OMLHood-haven...

@ 53 Doraemon

I think @48luvthisdrama referred SW to Choi Si-won and CSW to Cha Seung-won (aka Jo Guk in City Hall).

@53 Doraemon. I trust that you are tougher than whatever it is that makes your next week tough. I'll keep you in my prayers. And @ 55 epyc is right; SW is our SiWon and CSW is my Cha Seung Won ;-) As said time and again first love never dies and Cha Seung Won captured my heart first (in City Hall). So he'll always be the CSW when I talk/think about these two marvelous men at the same breath. I'm so sorry about the confusion.

@ 52 epyc, I totally agree with you that there was no need for KH to get a makeover. Had OML been extended perhaps a makeover would be justifiable. After all there would be special occasions where she had to be by her celebrity husband's side. I would say that her friend Bok Nim and her daugher Min Ji would be responsible for her (gradual) transformation. I remember Bok Nim's response to KH's insistence that she and MW were not compatible. Bok Nim said: "Then just make yourself compatible with him!" She was also the one who insisted that KH buy a new dress for the musical event. Min Ji, on her part, told KH to dress nicely and wear makeup when she was to be guest-mom in Min Ji's class.

I remember MW making reference to KH's clothes when he agreed to her having one of his tickets to the musical. I believe, however, that he was more concerned about her feeling out of place than him being embarrassed. All throughout the drama MW consistently showed total acceptance of KH and of other people in his life.

Btw, I made up a lot of after-the-end scenarios for OML to ease my withdrawal pains. The tender kiss deepening into a more passionate one *giggle*; the girls, then The Show personnel hearing the good news; Reporter Han becoming a family friend and getting the exclusives on the wedding; the search for a family house; Ye Eu's first complete sentence ("Mom, I'm hungry."); etc.

My favorite is the anniversary cruise. The atmosphere is romantic: a table for 2, candles, flowers and wine on the table, lights and beautiful land scenery at a distance, soft instrumental music in the backround, and MW sitting alone. Then KH appears. The camera angle is such that only part of KH's back is seen. She calls MW softly and he turns his head, his eyes full of love and anticipation. Then his eyes widen in shock. He exclaims: Ahjumma! Zoom in to KH. She has dressed herself and done her hair as in her ahjumma days. Fade-out. Fade-in to the 2 in a slow dance, a dreamy expression on KH's face, a tender smile on MW's. Fade-out.

@l48 Luvthisdrama. Thanks for bringing up SJ's confidence building advice. (I need that kind of reminder myself.) Thinking about it, children have more confidence trying out or doing things except, of course, when adults keep telling them otherwise. It's the same with learning. Kids are generally eager to learn, we can even say they are hungry for learning... Ok, I'll not go there.

@ 51 Mel. I like that entry where two sisters went to the hospital when the pregnant one started feeling the labor pains. Instead of the night bag (with stuff needed for the stay in the hospital) they took the laptop where they had been watching a kdrama. They continued watching at the hospital with the pregnant woman in pain. And they gave the baby a Korean middle name even though she has no Korean blood. Very funny.

What is your choice?

On the basis of the writing style, the one submitted by Tha impressed me. Here's a quote. "It is not addiction, it's mere commitment... Resurrection revived me... Oh Dal Ja gave me hope for my 30's.... And I'm becoming Kim Sam Soon day by day... Not Jennifer, Annie, or Britney. My name is Tha..." Unfortunately she did not mention OML.

Btw, do you know of a place near Modesto, or even LA, where one can buy dvd's of kdramas? My friend (the one who's addicted to AAE) has been looking for one. How about in NY, does your kimchi sister know of one?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, everyone!

@53 : Hope you survive your upcoming week, Doraemon, and it's not as tough as it looks like it's going to be, and even if it is, that you will be able to handle it amazingly... I will be thinking of you and sending you good vibes, my dear.

@ 52 Epyc: I appreciated the lack of a make-over...Not only because it reinforced the Cinderella-ness of it all, but because It kinda reminded me of the weight situation in Kim Samsoon -- sure, Samsoonah was a little heavier than the average kdrama heroine, but she is also probably the most beautiful heroine in terms of inner beauty ever, and Kae-hwa is definitely in the same mold. By the end Minwoo knows how lucky he is to have her, even if her hairstyle is a little strange (thought it kinda suited her sometimes, didn't it? It grew on me)... Plus, I have to say that Chae Rim is so gorgeous to begin with that it really was unbelievable when characters would make fun of Kae-hwa's appearance, as they frequently did during the show. It's like the ahjumma hairstyle/clothes completely blinded them somehow...And, as I've been rewatching the series, I was struck by how many times different characters describe Shijoon and Jung-ah as being perfect for each other. Sure, based on their looks, interests, achievements, and sophistication, they are, but we know how much their relationship is troubled...The fact that Minwoo and Kae-hwa are such a mismatched couple (in terms of superficial things, like age, dress, career, etcetera) is adorable to me, and makes me think about how the person you fall in love with might be completely different from what you were expecting...

@ 50 Menci: I am guilty of referring to Siwon as CSW, but I will try to stop doing that to clarify when I am talking about Siwonnie as opposed to Cha Seung-won. So, you are a City Hall fan? It would be interesting to hear about how it relates to OML....;-) Still haven't seen that show, though I adore KSA.... Also, your very well-thought out imagining of KH-MW's anniversary @57 was hysterical.

@45 Lumi. Nice of you to place those links here; they're now in my favs. Thanks!

It looks like the writer of OML incorporated Kang-in's run-ins with the law into the story, at least in the sense that similar situations explain the manager's hold on MW. I wonder if there's a show biz crush, or a Yura , or even a KH and YE filed somewhere in SuJu's personal folders that the writer has sneaked into the OML script.

By the way, we have been singing praises for Si Won, Chae Rim, the kids (can't remember their names!) and the rest of the cast. We forgot the people behind the scene, have we?

Hi! I hope you're all having a good day, my OML hood/haven friends -

I don't have my paper with me today, so forgive me if I don't recall who brought up what. I'll try to be better next time!

@doraemon - My thoughts and prayers are with you. Whatever may be the nature of your tough week, I know you'll be able to weather it well. You are not alone. We are experts in the therapy field, remember?

@ace - For a bit there I thought your moderated comment went kapoot like poor Mel's, but I figured that that was it at #40, right? Hope so! I get really frustrated when that happens to me, be it an e-mail or whatever. I am generally a poor correspondent because it's hard for me to write a short letter, so when my long "letter" goes kapoot, grrrrrrrrr. I was afraid the same thing happened to my post because when I sent it, it didn't say "Your comment has been submitted!" At least you got some clue that something was happening to it. Weird.

I see what you mean about ELFs sometimes being scary. Their numbers are legion, and generally, that means power. But what's the big deal about Suju's population staying at 13? I know it can be a superstitious number. I know for aesthetics, odd numbers are preferred. So at 10, that must really burn them. I hope I'm not offending any ELFs out there. I am grateful for their loyalty. I am a fan, too, though I don't know to what extent I'd go for Suju, so maybe I'm not quite ELF material. Not yet, anyway.

I just discovered "At Least I'll Still Have You" I love the song, and I don't if it's because I'm more used to listening to Korean vs. Chinese, but I also prefer the Korean version. Beautiful tune and words. I've been singing it around the house lately. (I mean humming it)

Thanks for the link for "No Other." I do plan to buy the repackaged album this week.

@Menci - I was intently reading your OML fanfic and getting into it and then hit the part where she was back to her full-on ahjumma look and, hey! It's funny, but you know when there's a romantic part in a drama/movie with romantic music playing in the background and all of sudden, the scene changes to something unexpected or opposite of the expected outcome and the music comes to a screeching halt after you hear the sound of the record player needle being scraped off the record? I had to read Sobia's comment to realize you meant to be funny. Sorry, DUH/dense moment for me! That WAS funny...

Re: Siwon's promo pic for Athena, Elliot Ness came to mind. He looks sharp, but I'm thinking I like Ace's imagined outfit a bit better.

Speaking of sharp, I enjoyed watching him in the 6/22 Win Win show. I dare say he was the best looking one there, but then again, I am biased. He did look comfortable, as Sobia said. He sure knows how to conduct himself. Not that the others didn't, but he was especially fetching in his looks as well as mannerisms.
Sure hope someone does the English dubbing soon.

Those shows are fun to watch and have a different feel about them than most American shows. Would we have them jumping rope while attempting to thwart their success by throwing distractions at them like Yoda, a rope-jumping Chihuahua, and a host of masked fans surrounding them? Not unheard of here, but not often done, either. We do crazy stuff here, but there's less innocence about it here than there.

More thoughts later...

Hey, what did you think of the fact that Min Woo's parents were not mentioned at all? I know someone previously expressed that they were glad parents' opposition didn't come into the mix, and I'm glad, too (I'm thinking of My Lovely Sam Soon, for one), but I thought it a bit strange that absolutely nothing was mentioned about them. It wasn't necessary for the plot, or rather, it wasn't made necessary for the plot, but mention of them may have given me a better sense of where he was coming from. And after he marries Kae Hwa and takes on a family, what of grandma and grandpa? Just a thought...

@ 63 kappy. You have a point there. Hmm, there might be hints in the dialogues that we missed. There's another reason to watch OML again ;-)

@ 60 sobia. Indeed there are parallels between the characters in OML and City Hall. I'll organize my thoughts and come back to this later, much later, though. I have to rewatch OML. This time I will be a reporter Han with a mission and that is to find THE story on (1) " MinWoo, who was he before becoming an idol? "(2) "KaeHwa, did she fall in love with MinWoo earlier than we thought? " I hope there will be others getting onboard with me.

@ epyc, @ mel. Since I HAVE TO rewatch OML I should turn deaf ears to My Country Calls at this time :)

@ Mel, done with packing yet? Wish I could help.

@Doraemon. Fighting!

Finally, to you all, my OMLmates, allow me to post the following link. It's more for myself and for those who have just come to know SiWon in OML.

@Doraemon – whatever it is, you are in my prayers. “God” will not put you in a situation wherein you won’t be able to handle things so stay strong. You’ll make it through and come out an even stronger person. Aja…fighting!

@Menci – lol at your OML ending scenario. This is the first time I’m reading our OML haven at work and I was cracking up so hard that my officemate was looking at me weird. (We are not supposed to go on the internet while working). You certainly made my day. Salamat. By the way, the stories about the pregnant woman (who continued to watch kdrama while in labor) and Tha (who I thought was very creative in putting together those kdramas to describe herself) caught my attention as well.

@epyc – I’m also glad that they didn’t do a makeover with KH. Otherwise, it’ll be just another typical rom-com kdrama. Actually, I find those makeover for lack of a better word a little bit irritating and non-sensical as if a woman needs a total make-over before a guy would fall in love with her. Just like Sobia KH’s appearance (hair, clothing and all) grew on me. At the end of the show, I said to myself… yes! finally a drama without a girl makeover and a 180 degree u-turn in driving of a guy.

@Mel – if only you are nearby, I would also help you out with your packing.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi y'all in OML hood-haven -

Comments seemed to have slowed a bit, and understandably so, what with everything going on in everyone's lives. For a bit there I was worried we hit the max (because my comment #63 seemed to be the last one for hours) and started thinking, "Now where should I post to continue with my OML friends? The most recent Open Thread, was the first thing that came to my mind. Glad I didn't have to do that, but that might be a good plan B in case that does happen. (Perish the thought!)

@menci - Your becoming Reporter Han #2 and getting those scoops sound good to me. I'll do what I can.

Btw, better hope MW is in a good mood, because you heard about the incident with the reporter 6 months prior (to ep 1), right? I wonder if Reporter Han had been the one he had the incident with...they don't say, from what I recall. But when Reporter Han approaches MW after his fanmeeting (first one we see), MW or his manager comments on how it's been a while since last they met.

I find it interesting that KH was a reporter on scandals at one time, too, for a spell. She supposedly managed to get a great story on someone during her day, a story that Bok Nim had heard one too many times about.

@mel - Hope the packing/unpacking is coming along well. I would help you too if we were closer (I'm coming from that far off planet), but I'm not sure I'd be of much assistance as I'm not that great of a packer. But between the two, I'd rather pack than unpack, 'cause unpacking involves finding homes for everything, Organization! I likey but I don't likey.

I started watching My Country Calls weeks ago but stopped. Plan to go back when i have (make) more time. The little I saw of it seemed cute.

It is sad about Park Yong Ha. I think he sang the theme song for "All In", at least in Japanese. Love that tune. Anyway, my thoughts and prayers go with his loved ones.

Did you see the Bonamana performance dated June 27 ( but was pre-taped)? Poor Leeteuk makes a booboo (they did the long version but he thought short version) and you can see Eunhyuk smiling because of it. He (Leeteuk) was so professional, though, and continued on as if nothing happened. As someone who has experienced this before, you just want it to go away, but you smile and not let it mess up the rest of the performance. The show must go on!

Was watching Suju M's Super Girl and saw the snap-out-of-it clap! Started giggling. Also saw the gesture that Siwon apparently does (as reported by fellow Suju members) of hitting his chest with a fist (as if you just ate a good meal and want to burp).

Would like to say something deep, but nothing comes to mind right now. Just fluffy things. Sorry. It's late, so I tend to go fluffy at this hour. I mean...er...you know what I mean. So, I'd better go. Mata ashita, hasta manana, laters, etc., my friends!

@ Menci 61

You're wlecome.

@ kappy 63

I frequently visit the Su Ju thread on Soompi. Some of the latest posts have been regarding the guys recent comments about their past romantic relationships. They have been supporting and more accepting of them dating and even marrying (as in Shidong's case, who proposed to his girlfriend on the thank you section of their 4th album). Many fans are in their midtwenties, so they are more understanding.

Some fans still want to continue wishing for the group to remain intact and refuse to accept new members to it (as is the case of Zhou Mi and Henry Lau, members of SJ-M who were booed at a SJ SS2 concert abroad) .

@ Menci 64

Did KH fall in love earlier? Before the kiss? It's hard to tell, but the kiss certainly had an impact, but she tried to be mature about it and not think too much of it. It obvously had a bigger effect on MW who started to watch her more closely and to react more to her doings and sayings.

@epyc

It annoyed me a lot to read all the comments that frequently popped up on Viikii (and other websites) criticizing KH's hairdo and appearance. I suppose they were done by viewers who are convinced that only young attractive women can attract young, attractive and/or successful men. Too much attention and importance is put on outter appearances that they forget that to cultivate their inner beauty is much more important and what will give them more happiness as one can't be young or beautiful forever, unless one has the money and time for cosmetic surgeries.

I was thankful that the PD decided not to give KH a makeover as this would have contributed to that erroneous belief and missed the point that real love is blind to the loved one's deffects and shortcomings.

I love kpop. That's all I listen to these days. I love how the fans show their support for their favorites: the use of one color ballons and glowsticks to distinguish them and show their support both in Korea and abroad (vg saphire blue ballons for SJ, green for SS501, pink for SNSD..)

Fans can be incredibly committed, for example, they send them food and treats for them and their staff where they are working be a TV station or drama set. Not only spending their money to buy the different versions of their album and anything related to them, but also investing their time listening to their music on websites to give them points so that they can win awards, directing other fans as to where they can purchase their music which is not yet available in their country. Twitting, trending, remembering their birthdays and sending them gifts. What fans do save the entertainment companies millions on promotion in many countries. And also being respectful of other entertainers because they don't want to give their fanclub a bad name or reputation, so bashing is not allowed on many fanwebsites.

Here's a little trivia regarding fanclub names and how fans call themselves:

Bands

Super Junior: ELF = Ever Lasting Friends
SS501: TS = Triple S
Big Bang: VIP
Wonder Girls: Wonderfuls
CN Blue: Boice
SNSD: SONE = S + ONE
2 AM: I AM = I exist because of AM
2PM: Hottest (hottest time of the day)
DBSK: Cassiopeia, Cassies

Individuals

Rain: Clouds
Jay Park (former 2PM leader): Jaywalkers
Kim Heechul (SJ member): Petals

Just dropping by to say "Hi" to all of you!
@ Doraemon - would pray for you.
@ Mel - hope you're doing fine with the packing/unpacking.
@ kappy - I caught an episode of My Country Calls on KBS and thought it was interesting. Is it worth watching from episode 1? I'm catching up on Coffee House and was interested with Bad Guy but I read JB's spoiler on her post about Kim Nam-gil's enlistment and went noooh!
@ Lumi - you can turn off the discussion on viikii when you click discussion off on the top right-hand corner of the video. I'm always turning it off because the annoying comments are so distracting. If you watched Personal Taste they were also commenting on Son Ye-jin's appearance on the drama. She was really pretty on PT but her outfits are not her usual style and some viewers were making stupid comments about her appearance. What more if they watched OML? They wouldn't look past KH's appearance and would prefer Yuri. I'm glad there was no makeover at the end of the series.

It's been a busy week for me as well. My last day of work would be next Tuesday (as 7/05 is a holiday) and I'm looking forward to 6 months of vacation before I start applying for a new job. I've ordered 10 books from Amazon.com so I won't be bored at home and I have booked trips (domestic and international) starting on August. That includes my trip to South Korea on Nov 15 to 29. I'll go to the Korean Embassy tomorrow to inquire how long it will take to process the VISA application. On Saturday, the local music store will launch Bonamana version A & B and would give freebies to the first 400 customers so I have to be there early. I'm tempted to buy both versions and the repackage version too! (my credit card's wincing) I'm torn between the 64GB iPod Touch and the 160GB iPod classic. My 1GB iPod shuffle is not enough for all my K-pop albums anymore. I also need to restart the Hangungmal/Hangul lessons in time for Seoul on Nov. =)

@Lumi - That info on fans was interesting. Thanks for the update on how the fans are digesting the stuff on Suju past relationships. A little at a time is better, I guess. I have heard of instances (and they are many, I'm sure) where the fans provide meals for a show or group. That and everything else they do is dedication driven.

Min Woo's fan were cute at the beginning when they offered the director a drink and asked him to be understanding of their star's acting ability as it was "a work in progress." But they turned monster when they first learned of Kae Hwa. Now tell me - would they really egg her? I mean generally speaking, do fans really egg who they don't like? I'm ignorant to that sort of thing, 'cause I would never, so it just surprises me.

On a bit of a tangent, it was funny/strange that there were those comments in the show on how unattractive Kae Hwa was. Give me a break. She might be older, but she's far from ugly. Those eyes have been blurred by jealousy or ignorance or shallowness or narrowmindedness..and I guess the list goes on.

@Ace - Wow, the plan is in place, huh? Sounds exciting! Wish I could hop on board. Let's see, November IS several months away. Can I swing it? Haha, wishful thinking. I can dream. Ooo, that song is coming to my head..a dream is a wish your heart makes...

@ Doraemon, hope you are doing well; @ Mel, I hope the move is going smoothly!

@ 350 Menci : “SW has more closeups in SuJuM than in Suju, right? I like SuJuM better then regardless of songs/performances/whatever” -- That’s why I like them, too! I ain’t gonna lie; pics of Siwon’s promotional duties in China are always my faves. With Super Junior M, he tends to be front-and-center and especially outgoing (maybe just because he is no longer competing with 12 other boys for a chance to speak and can finally get a word in edgewise)… And as someone who is frustratingly monolingual, I am also so impressed by how well the Korean-speaking members of SuJuM can sing/emote in Mandarin, and vice versa. Plus, I appreciate the United Nations-y, peacenik-y aspect of having a boyband composed of people from diverse countries (China, Taiwan, Korea and Canada are all represented in Super Junior M – it’s a beautiful thing). It’s like, by supporting Super Junior M, you support world peace; how can you not love them?

@ 46 Kappy : Your comment-writing routine is very similar to mine, except I start writing in a Word document and keep adding on to my comment whenever I have time, so that’s why my comments tend to get really, really long (like this one)…

@48 luvthisdrama: That nice scene with Minwoo and Shijoon in Episode 12 was one of my favorite scenes in the drama too, it really resonated with me. I’m actually saving those words you quoted into my Inspirational Quotes file (yes, I am dorky and have such a thing…)

@69 Lumi, I can sympathize with you about your Viikii complaints… I really found it annoying how often people on Viikii would complain about Kae-hwa's hair and about Shijoon being boring, ugly, frozen, etcetera.

I have to admit to you all in the OML hood/haven that I really loved the Shijoon character. Even as I was being blinded by Minwoo’s dimples and torso, I still couldn’t help but think that Shijoon was an awesome guy….Think about it... Shijoon had monumental failures leading up to “All That Love,” but his bravery, persistence and passion for what he does keep him going through all those troubles… It seems like he’s the type of producer who is really into the theater and not just out to make money, since “All that Love” is supposedly the smaller, more inventive musical compared to the big-name one being produced by his rival…And it’s cute when he and Kae-hwa watch the hip-hop/break dancers in the park because it makes you realize that Shijoon’s tastes can be kinda cool and that he’s just a cultural, art-loving guy in general. Even when he yells at our beloved Minwoo for being an idiot on several occasions, I still love Shijoon because he’s usually right about Minwoo being an idiot whenever he yells at him, and I think Minwoo needs to hear it from someone. In sum, I totally get why Kae-hwa is so impressed by Shijoon, and why he makes Minwoo feel so insecure all the time….In real life, people like Shijoon are the ones I have the most respect for – he’s hard-working and responsible, self-controlled, very committed to what he loves doing, a fair leader. Of course, he is not without flaws, but I think the flaws he has, like Minwoo’s, are understandable and relatable, and I think he’s working on them by the end of the series.

I’m really thankful to the writers for treating Shijoon with the respect he deserves. He did not turn out to be a jealous, obstructive type of second lead (like in DGCH) or the sort of pathetic second lead who we feel really bad for but have difficulty respecting (like in YAB). Instead, Shijoon was someone who we can’t help but admire because he’s just a good guy and is a wonderful friend to the lead female character. Even though we know he has a bit of a crush on Kae-hwa (and he shouldn’t, because he’s still married), the show doesn’t punish him for it…Instead this crush makes him a better, nicer, more understanding person, and he gets over the crush, and moves on with his life, and closer to Jung-ah. Which I think is really the smartest thing you can do with an unrequited crush – you can learn from it, and realize why exactly you like that person, and try to develop the personality traits you admire about them in yourself. For Shijoon, I think he realizes how much he admires Kae-hwa’s warmth, loyalty, patience, and understanding nature, and is making strides – however slowly—to develop these qualities in himself. Think of how far Shijoon has come from the beginning of the show, like that time when he fired the member of Jung-ah’s dance troupe the very same day he spotted him auditioning the rival company, without even trying to probe into the employee’s reasons for auditioning. Shijoon seemed really harsh then …But, imo, the double-casting of the musical with Minwoo as one of the leads is not just a savvy publicity move on Shijoon’s part– it’s an act of compassion towards Minwoo and a willingness to recognize his growth and place trust in him for all his hard work, that demonstrates how far Shijoon has come in becoming a more understanding and patient person...

And as @ 53 Doraemon pointed out, there is another huge reason to love Shijoon: along with Kae-hwa and Ye-eun, Shijoon is one of the main reasons why Minwoo matures into an awesome person over the course of the show. Throughout the series, Shijoon always calls out Minwoo on things that the younger man needs to be called out on. Sure, when Shijoon unleashes his anger on Minwoo for being late for the meeting in Episode 4, we can assume that his anger is at least partly motivated by having just discovered his wife’s affair, but really, he is right to point out that Minwoo’s being unpunctual is a big diss in the face of all the people he is meeting with. And I do think his punch in Episode 12 helps spur Minwoo along to take action, help Kae-hwa and take responsibility for the scandal. The sad fact is that Minwoo doesn’t really have any other male role models, besides Shijoon, who can help him discover what it means to grow up and be a real man. Unlike Shijoon, Yoon-seuk sure as heck isn’t explaining to Minwoo how to deal with his fears like an adult – instead, like @Ace and @Kappy pointed out before, he is playing on Minwoo’s fears to keep him under his thumb. But Shijoon doles out the good advice Minwoo needs to hear, when he needs to hear it. And ultimately he gives Minwoo the chance to act in the musical that saves his career.

Seriously, how can you not love Shijoon? And how can you not love the OML writers, who dared to insert a 40-year old emotionally repressed workaholic into a drama with a smoking hot idol, and got us to feel for Shijoon almost as much as we felt for Minwoo? I love the fact that OML lured us in using superficial tactics—Siwon’s good looks, the frequent abs shots—but what got us to stay was the incredibly unsuperficial values the show puts forth…

I have a feeling if OML was an American rom-com, Shijoon would have not have been portrayed so positively – more likely, he would be an annoying, boring, slightly stalkerish stick-in-the-mud, with all his good traits glossed over. And that is just a too-simple way of looking at that kind of person.

Sorry for this rant, but I just had to get it out!

@69 Lumi: Thanks for the information about fanclub names...I had no idea about all this! Apparently, I would consider myself an ELF, VIP, cloud, and petal... silly Heechul...

@ 70 Ace: Oh my gosh, your plans sound awesome! Reading and traveling sound like a great way to spend 6 months...Enjoy your time off thoroughly...

@72 Kappy: I thought those comments about Kae-hwa being unattractive were really surprising too, since she is so obviously not unattractive... Maybe it was intentional, to drive home the fact that the entertainment industry is just so shallow (whether it's located in Seoul or in LA) and Kae-hwa obviously does not comply with the cookie-cutter glamorous, high-fashion types you find there like Yura and Minwoo..And @ 68, perhaps we should add the chest-thumping gesture to our handshake? I didn't know that was one of Siwon's signature moves; thanks for pointing it out!

@sobia - Loved your comments on Shijoon. I , too, enjoyed the fact that he was multi-dimensional rather than how he may have been portrayed in an American drama.

Re: Siwon's gesture of hitting his fist on his chest - He apparently does this move when he shares that he's going to exercise. Cute. Yes, we'll throw that one into the handshake as well! It'll be fine even though it's not a Min Woo move because of the fact that Min Woo and Siwon are so closely entertwined.

@ 75 Kappy: I wonder if the chest thump subconsciously indicates his enthusiasm for working out - because, if so, Siwon and I are so different. When I am about to go exercise, I start pouting, and dragging my feet, and looking desperately for distractions. ;-) I really adore the fact that Siwon has all these different gestures for which he is known; they make him come off a bit goofy and eccentric.

@ 76 Mel: Really, SuJu is coming to the USA?!!! That is so exciting. I don’t think they have ever performed here before, so this is just going to turn more and more people into ELFs. I would love to attend the concert, but am not sure I can make it because I will be starting a new job around the same time; I might have to live vicariously through you.

@40 Ace: I forgot to thank you for the author recommendation -- I am going to check out Nora Roberts soon. I get sorta overwhelmed at bookstores and often leave empty-handed because there are just too many book to pick from and you never know which books are good and which ones just have nice covers, so I really apreciate recommendations.

@ 73 Kappy: I wish someone had responded to your earlier question about Minwoo's parents because I was interested in that topic too. Especially in the beginning of the show, I really wanted to see MW's parents because I was desperate to figure out why Minwoo was capable of treating Ye-eun so badly (completely failing to acknowledge her or even talk to her her nicely), and I figured it must have been because he had been abandoned himself, or something like that. But, by the end, I actually liked the fact that we had not heard more about Minwoo’s parents’ involvement in his life because (1) the story was simpler and more streamlined because it did not have to deal with these additional characters/storylines, and (2) it meant that Minwoo’s flaws and problems fell squarely on his shoulders to own and to deal with. Since we don’t have any conclusive proof that his parents are solely responsible for his character deficiencies, we have to assume that Minwoo himself is to blame for his own immaturity/insecurity/etcetera, as he can’t attribute his problems to the failings of his parents (or his grandparents, or his second-cousin once removed…). This set-up forces Minwoo to really be an adult, in that he has to take full responsibility for how he was leading his life and change himself (in other words, he can’t blame his mama for how he turned out). I actually really liked that the show turned out this way. There are a lot of male heroes in kdrama land who have been traumatized by their parents--Hwang Tae Kyung in “You’re Beautiful” and Kang-ha in “Wish Upon A Star” are recent ones that come to mind. Although I loved those shows, that kind of storyline for the male hero has started to get too common. I like that, in OML, Minwoo is totally responsible for his own bad character traits –this is more like real life, because after a certain age, you have to stop blaming your parents for how you turned out. :-)

Btw, did y’all see the OML Dramabeans banner yet? I don’t know who made it, but it’s beautiful!

Hey all in the OML hood/haven (*performs the very long and involved OML handshake with all members*) -

My wish/dream of going to Korea is getting closer! A major airlines here just announced yesterday that they will be flying non-stop to Korea beginning January of next year, and I just happen to have a brother who works for the airline, so you know what that means, right? Yes, I'm so going to hit him up for buddy passes. I'll be missing the November field trip with Ace, but next year...

@ mel - I'm excited for you! But what is MG and SMTown? Does SMTown stand for Suju M & T together? Is that how you'll be seeing Siwon and the glorious abs? Tell me...inquiring minds want to know...

@ sobia - You raise some good points about Min Woo not being able to blame his parents for his faults. At least we are not able to make the connection as viewers because of the absence of mention of his parents in the show. I'd like to ask the makers of the show if that's what they were thinking. Actually, I'd like to ask the makers of OML a lot of things. Oh, and to praise them for a job well done.

I absolutely think that chest thump of Siwon shows his enthusiasm for working out. I heard he's been training for at least 4 years, and his trainer says he loves it. Oh, to love exercising. He's in a strata above me in that respect, and I'm trying to get there. Actually, I love exercising if it's volleyball or dancing, but you won't likely catch me jogging. Not willingly, anyway. And pilates? Goodness no. If I had a trainer, that would be a different story. I would train 'cause I wouldn't want to waste money. Not the best motivation, but it's a start.

Did anyone catch Suju playing soccer against Nigeria? Very entertaining. It's on YT dated June 20, 2010. And as for the one who seems the most skilled in this game, you have one guess. Yes, just add it to the list of Siwon's many talents. Dang! Is there anything he can't do?

Talk to you later!

So sorry... SM is the talent agency that SuJu is under and SMTown is the compilation of most the talents in the agency. So when SMTown tours the many groups and solo acts travel together and perform so far in ASIA only. I hope that it does come true. My kimchee sister was so excited when she told me the news that she practically jumped out of my phone. I've seen SuJu at the Hollywood Bowl in 2008 but it was SuJu Happy with Yesung---at that time SuJu M was hard at work in China. I wasn't a SuJu fanatic then, but already a huge Si Won fan from Hyang Dan-- he wasn't there. I was more ineterested in Fly to the Sky with Brian Joo and Hwanee---one of the BEST voices ever!!!

..am now also interested in Coffee House but still a die hard OML fan. I finally got my Kdrama DVDs and will rewatch AOE as am having cold turkey from KBS and the internet no connections installed yet just the minute screen from the iPhone, it and this site is keeping me from going CRAZY!!! Of course recaps from JB!!!

I wonder what SW and Chae Rim are doing... And MJ and YE??? I'm so glad that there are many SJ fans out there now as well as the no make over for KH !!! I confess to being one of those annoying people who commented on viikii's OML screening but usually because of the Koean Greek God namely CSW, KH not needing a make over and of course KH's two guardian angels SJ and MW... I apologize for the annoyance but I had to echo or voice out what I felt about many scenes mostly regarding the touching ones....

Have a great weekend all Angels in the OMLhaven---you Doraemon most of all...

Hi -

Sorry, it's me...again. Just wanted to tell you about Suju's performance of No Other, dated today, on YT. What a happy performance! There's a lot of smiling going on - definitely a different feel from the tough exterior Bonamana. I like this song and performance a lot!

@ 82 kappy

I kept smiling all throughout Su Ju's performance of No Other. Here's a link to the live performance

This link is to the English subbed version (no video, only audio)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tApprFWbZp0

@ Sobia 73 & 74

Su Ju H (Happy) and SU Ju T (trot) haven't released any songs for a while, and now that Hangeng is no longer the leader of Su Ju M, I wonder when will they come back. I guess they will all be concentrating on their concerts with Zhou Mi and Henry Lau joining them as they did on SS2. KRY seems to be the only subgroup working on concerts/showcases in Japan.

BTW Has anyone seen the kdrama Hyena? KRY sang 2 songs for the OST. One of these songs, The One I Love, is part of their permanent repertory, and one of my, and their favorites.

Here's a link of a live performance of The One I Love with KRY with English subs (You can see SS501 at the beginning of the clip as part of the introduction).

I agree with your comments about Shinjoon. It's common to have second story lines (or third) on k-dramas as fillers, with useless conversations and musical bridges.

I never found Shinjoon's story boring, but now I have started to appreciateit much more. Looking back, his character is very important to the story. He the older male who protects KH, and helps MW to stop being childish and act manly. Inside Shinjoon's cold exterior he's a passionate man. His passion is his work. He loves to produce musicals even if they fail and he gets into debt. He doesn't give up. As per Minwoo, he is only in the business for the perks: fame, adulation, money, but hasn't taken his career seriously.

I actually like leaving the comments on when watching videos on viikii. Many are very witty and funny and enhance my viewing of the video. The comments bashing Shinjoon and his story line and KH's appearance were too many and inmature. .

Hello everyone. @Lumi- thanks for the youtube link of SuJu's No Other performance. oohhh I love their performance. Love their simple black & white clothing style, smile, dance and all. The fan girl in me is going crazy over them... lol Most of all, love love love Siwon's hair style. I'm so glad he's in it. I was afraid he's filming Athena and won't be able to perform with the group.

@Ace & @Kappy, i'm jealous.... i wish I can tag along with you when you go to S. Korea. i can only wish for it. For now, I'll add it to my "places to go" list. I listen to kpop songs and kdrama ost more & more lately. In fact I don't even know the top "english" songs nowadays or who came out with a new album.

@Mel - really KHJ donated to a Filipino charity. That's really nice of him. Is it confirm SMTown will be in LA Sept 4? oh... that's too bad for me. I'm planning to go to LA in late september so I'm going to miss it. By any chance, will SuJu be in China in August? I'll be heading to China around Aug 9.

I forgot to mention that I'm following 3 kdramas. Bad Guy - so far the story is quite interesting and intense...a lot of emotional conflicts. I'll continue to watch it even after I read a spoiler about the lead actor. Dong Yi - this is my first time watching a historical drama and am enjoying it. Each episode keeps getting better and better. Call of the Country - I find this drama cute and entertaining. Although, I must say that OML still tops as my number 1 romantic comedy for this year. Have a safe and happy 4th of July to all my OML hoods/haven.

Hi all the angels in the OML hood, I'm back !!!

I want to thank all the angels, Mel, Menci, Sobia, Kappy, Luvthisdrama, Ace (hope I didn't miss out anyone) for your support and encouragement over last week. I won't say I handle the situation well, but I'm happy it didn't turn out worse than I expected and most importantly, it's over !!!!

It was a tough week ! I was shocked and very saddened by the passing of Park Yong Ha. I have a crush on him when I watched On Air 2 years back and have been a big fan since. He was my no.1 K-idol until Si Won comes along this year. Sigh....it's such a pity that we lost him at such a young age. RIP, Yong-ha.

Back to our OML, I also love the fact that KH didn't get a make-over, somehow this makes it more real. I totally support including "Si-won's hitting his fist on his chest" in our secret handshake. Did you angels remember the scene where he did this (KH offering him a tonic drink and then reminded him to attend the rehearsal later....), he's sooooo cute. In fact, I have been doing a lot of this gesture recently (not sure if my colleagues noticed it. ha ha .......)

I'm so glad that I can go back to watching OML over this weekend !!! Oh, and thanks for all the nice video clips. I'll take my time to enjoy them !!!

It's me again ! I just watched suju's live performance of No Other and can't wait to tell all of you how much I love it. @83 Lumi, thanks for the link !!!

I thought Bonamana is already soooooo good, and it will be a challenge to beat Bonamana ! I'm so pleasantly surprise with No Other. Anyone has the link to the MV ?

!Like everyone else, I was smiling while watching; I like the smile on the boys' face, black and white casual attire (they look so good without the heavy makeup !), and of course I like Si-won's new hair style. I can even accept that he perms his hair ! Let me share with you what put me off for K-dramas. For years, while all my friends were crazy with K-dramas, I didn't fall for it. I only started watching K-drama in 2007 and it was My Lovely Samsoon. The reason - I simply can't accept the male leads permed or curly hair style !!! Not even Hyun Bin can be spared ! Ha ha ha ......but I'm now saying I love Si-won's new hair style (soooooooooo bias) !!

I'm also glad to see that Kyuh-yun has recovered from his surgery and back to join the group !! The 2 poor boys, going for surgery one after another.

I'm so love suju !!! They're simply super !!!

Welcome back, doraemon! Glad you weathered that challenge and can get back to some norms, like OML, etc.

That performance of No Other is so enjoyable to watch, isn't it? I also like the lack of heavy make-up, the simple black and white, Siwon's hair, and especially all the smiles and goofiness.

I have to tell you what my 6-year-old son said while watching this - that they look like bowling pins. At first I didn't know what he was talking about, but then it hit me...black and white and in the bowling pin set up formation. I had to laugh...

Welcome back doraemon--- glad you got right back into the swing of things--- fangurling for Si Won & SuJu. I share your sadness over Park Yong Ha, a quiet talented man full of conflicts and looking at So Ji Sub devotion as well as Park Si Yeon's, PYH must have been really special..

As for the SMTown concert in L A, my kimchi sister called the Korean Times office as well as the ticket agencies, it's getting finalized and more info will be released this coming week...

I just wanted to say a quick hello with a wish for fun reunions with family and friends, good eats, great view of the firework displays, and safe celebrations this 4th of July holiday to all in the OMLHaven this weekend.

Talking about research ..........

@54 Mel, remember you gave me some homework to do last week ? I'm now ready to submit my homework - the last name of each SuJu member :

1. Siwon - Choi (this one I know by heart, no research needed)
2. Heechul - Kim (this is a bonus from @69 Lumi)
3. Sungmin - Lee
4. Donghae - Lee
5. Ryeowook - Kim
6. Kyuhyun - Cho
7. Leeteuk - Park (I thought it's Lee, ha ha ha ........)
8. Yesung - Kim
9. Shindong - Shin
10. Eunhyuk - Lee

Bonus - Leeteuk, Yesung, Shndong and Eunhyuk are stage names.

Care to guess how many names I know before I start my research ? Only 3, ha ha ha .......

I really enjoy No Other, have been playing the video the whole day !!!

I liked the winners of the addiction contest! The extreme lengths addicts would go to. I wasn't able to post my story since it has been a busy 2 weeks, but I enjoyed reading the stories of other kdrama addicts. I'll just share mine here if you don't mind. I actually have two.

First, I started watching Autumn in My Heart or Autumn Fairy Tale because I really liked Song Hye Kyo in Full House so I looked up some of her earlier works and found this kdrama. I started with the intention of watching just an episode or two (haven't we all told ourselves this one time or the other?). I really liked the young Moon Geun Young's acting (as the young self of SHK's character) on the first 2 episodes and by the time I came to my senses, I just finished episode 4. By the way, in my line of work for a financial institution, one should not go to work sleepy because once you made an error it would be client-facing and it really affects the finances of the clients. I was telling myself "this is the last episode", but I really wanted to know what happened next so past the time when I should have been asleep, I was watching episode 10...and crying my eyes out. When I finished the series, I was crying nonstop for 7 hours, my eyes were so puffy and my nose so red. Then I had to go to work because I wasn't able to call in sick. So I went to work wearing a cap and sunglasses. I told my co-workers that I read a book by Nicholas Sparks and it made me cry so hard. Good thing I can do my work mechanically so I didn't make an error at all that day. That was the only time I watched a k-drama from start to finish without stopping.

Second, was when BOF came out. There's this local DVD shop that downloads subbed kdramas, and even if the series hasn't ended yet, they sell whatever episodes they have available. But the catch is that you have to buy everything as a set. Example, I first bought BOF when they had episodes 1 to 12; 4 episodes per DVD, so that's 3 DVDs. They would have episodes 13-16 after two weeks, but you have to buy all 4 DVDs now (ep 1-16). And so on it went until episode 25. So at the end of the series I had 4 sets of BOF DVDs, 3 of which are incomplete sets. What I did afterwards was copied the rest of the episodes to complete the other 3 sets, and gave them away as gifts to my fellow k-drama addicts.

Thank you for your posts, we're nearing 400 already! I enjoyed reading them even if I wasn't able to reply. I'll reply maybe tomorrow. =) Have a great day OML angels! I'll also share my experience on the BONAMANA album launch.

@ace - I can count on you as one of the OML hoodies who provides us with up-to-date links to stuff of interest to us. Hadn't caught the July 4th performance yet, so thanks. There were already 95,000+ hits!

Heechul is smiling even more in this one, and I get to see his eyes. Siwon is fit (fetching) as ever. And is his hair permed or just spiked with gel? Eunhyuk is my favorite dancer, always putting his all into it - every move is sharp. Yesung - ever the pro singer w/great stage presence. Leeteuk - such enthusiasm in his steps and showing on his face, and on-the-money with his vocals. What is it he yells out in the middle of the performance? Kyuhyun - not a lead vocal for nothing. Ryeowook - seemed like he forgot his cue but quickly recovered, and his vocals are crystal clear (as always). Sungmin - sweet smile and looking like he's really enjoying himself - good with his moves, too. Shindong - another one who looks like he's genuinely enjoying himself, and comical, to boot. Donghae - looking good and smiling up a storm as well.

Sorry for taking up space here for this Suju No Other critique. I'll try not to do it again. But I have a sneaky suspicion you have critiques of your own...

Enjoyed your Kdrama addiction story. I would have given you at least an honorable mention! Crying for 7 hours? And having to go incognito to work? Poor thing. Yes, that Autumn in my Heart is one of the major tear-jerkers.

@Mel - Thanks for the SMTown explanation. Yes, please let us now when you find out just who's coming onto American soil! LA is just a Pacific Ocean (and a buddy pass) away...

Hey, we're only a few away from 400! Wow, still going strong. Great job, everyone.

Good day Angels in the OMLhaven-hood... It's great to see a growing "legion" of SuJu fans... First is the enlisment of Kang In, it's on ALLKpop just click on the links provided on the left side of this page. All the active members were present to send him off as well as many fans... ... sad scene, but SW looks great--gentleman and HOT! Sorry, still don't know how to copy paste from this little phone!!! And it's great that this is not just a growing OML dedicated site but also an ELFs haven too. I enjoy how all are adding YT videos and sites that show SuJu and their many activities. SMent YT account has a video of the upcoming SMTown concert in L A showing the different artists included in the concert. It's supposed to be 5 hrs long... We'll wait for the updates..

@80 kappy MG is a part of Oh my G__! this was due to my excitement that there will be an SMTown concert in L A. I Hope many will make it!

@73 kappy, I too was curious about MW's family background and their non existence but am glad there were none. Could you just see the added complications with the presence of his family? and MW liking - a single parent ahjumma? I'd just hate thinking about all the trouble!! We didn't need anymore trouble...

The OML banner/header is beautiful... I hope more will be made to include Min Ji. When @79Sobia first mentioned it I couldn't find it, today I saw it with the first view on this site... WOW--it's GREAT!!

Doraemon-- yes thanks on finishing the homework, I'm now looking for the Hangul characters to make signs for the concert!! Of course the OML sign too, could you am trying to get my daughter and son to come along with me and my kimchee sisters... As for the other concerts in their tours, some are already posted, as soon as my Internet is up I'll post it here.

I really enjoyed reading the posts on the kdrama addiction contest, some were quite crazy. How about we all elaborate on how each of us got into this crazy addiction.. I bet we all have our own crazy incidents to add here. I myself have very many that caused many to think I'm nuts... Just trying to avoid working, family gatherings, the outward avoidance from work, family and society and many events just because I had no time for them-it!!! was-is quite common for me--and of course all for the love of Kdrama and SuJu and Kpop!!! Can't wait to read everyones story... I'll add mine as soon as the Internet is hooked up...

Have a happy day all in the OMLHaven-hood...

Hi everyone!

@62 & 72 kappy – SM Entertainment said after Kyuhyun addition to the group that he would be the last member. As a new SuJu fan, I wouldn’t mind an addition to the group but would give my 100% support to the original 13.

There were already enough supporting characters in OML that the addition of parents would definitely make it more confusing.

Tomorrow, I’ll submit my VISA application. I heard it takes 3 months processing…hope you can come with me!

@73, 74, & 79 sobia – thanks for the Shijoon post. It made me admire him more. I’ll definitely make the most of my vacation! About Nora Roberts, try buying her book at a secondhand bookstore first so you won’t be wasting $7.99 if you don’t like it. Try also fantasticfiction.com to look for the description of each book before you go shopping.

@93 doraemon – perfect score on your homework!

Check out Siwon’s 6/29 post on twitter…he’s wearing a leather jacket, shades, and riding a motorcycle…he’ titled it “Choiminator”…so cute! http://twitpic.com/20xfl8

Anyway, I got lots of freebies on the BONAMANA album launch – 2 posters, all 20 photocards, and 5 postcards. When I came 10 minutes before the opening of the mall, there were already hundreds of (very young) fans lined up in the front entrance. Oh, no! But then I got this bright idea of entering the mall through the side entrance (no one was there!) so that’s why I was one of the first 50 in the queue buying the album. And man, the fans were really screaming, parents were also there (a dad made a run for it so his daughter would have a place on the lines) taking pictures, and they showed the 07/02 performance of “No Other” which started another wave of screaming. There’s this part after you get the freebies where you have to write the name of your favorite SJ member on your receipt (do you have to guess the name I wrote?) and have it countersigned by an authorized ELF volunteer so you can have your picture taken beside the portrait of your chosen member. Once the picture is taken, you have to uploaded it on the “Finding Miina” Facebook page to get a chance to win the portrait. So I was the second one who uploaded mine, and I’m getting all my friends to “like” it for a chance to win the Siwon portrait. Some of my FB friends might think I’m crazy but I really want that portrait so they better “like” it!

Also, Sakurakhyuk has this contact who’s going to Seoul to buy Siwon fangoods. I’m buying the “God Bless Siwon” towel so I have something to wave around during SS3.
