Happy, happy Friday! I have honestly grown tired of CS. I'll still watch it, mind you, but it's not like I have a choice since the end is so near. Perhaps there will be redemption and a beautiful turn-around in the remaining...6...episodes...? I've heard great things about Prosecutor Princess? Someone please sell it to me in a few words! Is it really the best of the Wednesday-Thursday lineup??

Happy Friday! To All!!!! Now That "Preosecutor Princess" has finished I am moving on to better and greener pastures. Thank you all for the debates, and for the non PP fans! for enduring the crowding of OT with so much heated arguments, I watched the 2005 Chinese film "Seven Swords" and Kim-So-yeon plays a minor/major role in the movie, She is just way to good of an actress, Kim-So-yeon Fighting!!!!. http://www.kfstar.com/donnieyen/gallery/qijian/001.jpg

of her step mom. we need action.
as for PP love the show but i wish that at the end hug and kisses.
but not ..........so disappoint. i just saw the end the two couple taking picture
and it got cut................could not understand a thing due to translate in chinese

Just caught up all the talks about Skip Beat from the last OT. Thanks to djes, ockoala, v. and mookie - this is exciting!

I am still in my OML withdrawal. Any news of Siwon or Chae Rim doing a new drama is gold. I've seen the MV of Ariel with Siwon and Donghae which is not bad. The three of them doing a drama for a story like Skip Beat is just great. I haven't seen much of Donghae other than the above MV but my love for both Ariel and Siwon (after seeing his portrayal of Sung Ming-woo in OML) will ensure my following this one. I also agree that it would be better if it is made as a kdrama rather than TW drama but we don't have a choice, do we?

Likewise, a re-make of Coffee Prince with Ariel is equally exciting. I think Jerry could pull it off after his DWL performance.

2010 is certainly a good year for drama. Let's hope Bad Guy and Coffee House do not disappoint.

And, eiko, are you alright?? Haven't seen you posted for a while, hope everything is OK.

Supah - are you going to finish PP or not? I haven't.

Have a great weekend everyone.

I haven't been able to finish this week's new episodes of PT, PP, or CS yet. Well, I suppose that's what weekends are for! Procrastination on homework and catching up on dramas! I did get a chance to watch the first 2 episodes of Coffee House and it turned out to be a hilarious, lovely surprise! I couldn't help but smile countless times as the plot unfolded. I definitely look forward to next week's new episodes. Oh && Bad Guy!!!!! Yayy! As Bad Guy airs next week, it feels like we shall be one step closer to June...and the premiere of Road No. 1!!! I can't freaking wait! Anyway, enough of my babbling because I have to study for one more midterm today. Happy Friday everybody! d(^o^)b

I've started watching Coffee House, and I must say, it's lovely so far. I'm keeping my expectations low right now, but the first two episodes were a whole lot of fun. And I really like all the characters so far. Especially the director/editor(?). And the writer character is such a fun surprise too. Such a clean diversion from the classic kdrama hero.

Hope the rest of the series pulls through the same way.

Rain Can Kill. I don't mean the singer(Bi) I mean that compound that falls from the sky made up of mostly water. It apparently has the power to make anyone feverish if you stand out in it longer than 15min. This 104F temperature forces you to confess in a delusional haze your deepest darkest secrets. I am sure others who are far more skilled and intelligent have commented on this before, but for heaven sake must every drama warn the viewing public of the hazards of rain water. I recall playing in the stuff as a child for hours, and not even a sniffle. I walk home in it and there is no need to call up a past lover, estranged family member, or the fated person of my dreams that happens by. They can keep their cold compress for when I have the flu or malaria.

Now that being said...I can't thank the PT writers enough for making someone very "sick".

_____________

And I wish for the director of Dong Yi to be stopped from ever directing again. Ever! At first I thought it was the actors, but no they do just fine in group and two-shots. It is only the lingering and over done close-ups that force me the viewer completely out of the story. The lead actress (Dong Yi) is especially cursed. That poor girl has been made to have the same surprised look at least 12 times an episode. It can now be an official drinking game. Every time her eyes go wide and her mouth makes that huge oval so big anime characters are jealous...Soju! If it wasn't for the great writing and the actors doing a good job in spite of the hideous closeups, I would have long left this show.

Sorry just needed to drama rant, I'll go back to watching them now.

@Chris: it all depends upon personal preferences. I grew tired of CS after 7 episodes, and PT was a bit boring for me. PP has, after two really weak first episodes, a good storyline and adorable characters (even when OT's crowd will tell you that one of the leads is a sociopath ¬¬). My advice is that you should give it a chance. If you are not impressed after episode 7, just drop it and move onto other dramas.

In a few words, it's a drama about growth and forgiveness, everything hidden in 16 episodes of comedy, romance and suspense. It's a healthy mixture, and also, Kim So-yeon will make you love her (be careful with episode 1, she annoying as hell there, but you need to watch it in order to appreciate her growth throughout the series).

Cheers!

For the Wed/Thursday dramas, I've only been watching Personal Taste and Prosecutor Princess (CS just didn't appeal to me). I thought I'd enjoy Personal Taste more, but honestly the drama that got me excited every week ended up being Prosecutor Princess -- solid acting, solid storyline. I can't exactly describe it, but KSY's character is very different from your regular kdrama lead female characters, so it was really enjoyable to watch. She starts from a pretty clueless materialistic girl to well...someone who realizes that there's more to life than shoes. I loved the transformation in her character, and the end, even after the changes, her character didn't dramatically change---she was still herself, so the whole transformation seemed gradual and natural.

The romance is pretty great too :D Although some would complain, there wasn't enough at the end, but I think it ended well. Oh and yes, the male lead can come off as stalker-ish...but its sort of like a superhero...sort of. I mean he has good intentions and it's cute...My only complaint is that the "bigger" conflict of the story was wrapped up too quickly...it was almost a whirlwind to take in all the facts and just go with it. (Don't want to add spoilers).

Anyway my point is definitely give Prosecutor Princess a chance; KSY's character's refreshing and the plot overall is enjoyable. I find it more interesting than PT, but...there isn't as much romance as PT (if that matters....).

Suju won #1 at MuBank!!! Congratulations guys!!! yay for Suju love!!! altho it's sad that f(x) has now lost the chance to win... they really deserve it. they were so sad when they didnt win. TT. in fact, i wish MBLAQ, CNBlue, 4minute could all win an award as all their songs are really good but that seems impossible.. -_-" and WG are back! but they look dead tired...

PT ended and while it was entertaining, i dont have much to rave about it. SYJ, it was good seeing u act clutzy but i'm sure u can do better. LMH, looking forward to ur next project and KJS, good luck in the army... still can't get over the PINK suit...
Dear CS, if u go for anymore pain and angst and glares, u might kill me... i still love ur acting but seriously, we've just spent 16 ep for what? and PP... one of the most entertaining and amazing dramas ive seen!!! definitely going on my top list! oh gosh, i'm already on withdrawal syndrome... and still haven't finished it yet... this is going to stick to me for a long time... thank god i have Coffee House (what a gem!!!) and Giant to look forward to now.

@Chris
well, some would not say PP is the best of the 3 wed-thur dramas but i'm saying it is!! at least give it a try... i warn u, the first 2-3 ep can seem over the top for some (but hilarious and funny to me) with Ma Hye Ri fashion style. it'll be hard to put it in a few words and make it appealing since the story because really complex towards the end, and extremely addicting, especially from ep 10 onwards. I know that cuz reading the premise, i had no desire to watch it and only did cuz i needed a filler and i ended up loving it! really, give it a try! it may not have a large fanbase but all the fans are particularly passionate about it. ^^
@Amg1
haha... i had fun with our debate so thanks for the exchange! now, let's move on with it!
@epyc
ur welcome! Donghae is really adorable... u should check out some clips with him. he has a prince-like aura but really, the guy is more sweet than princely.
here's some clips from the past when he cries: XD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjTJhKvYvgA
i know he looks skinny but he's really buffed up now ^^ and hot.
as u can tell, i'm a big suju fan...

and Coffee House sure hasnt disappointed so far. looking forward to Bad Guy. Kim! Nam! Gil!

Happy FRIDAY!!

I haven't been watching any Kdrama lately, been kinna busy and lazy to watch anything. But i did get to watch North and South last weekend! I'm not very good in giving my opinions, but that was a nice ending to a love story! Still I prefer Pride and Prejudice (BBC version)!

Oh, I need to update my music lists. I like the song that you posted here today. I swear everytime i hear a new song by female artists, they all sound a like, ie beyonce, rhianna.and I couldn't tell who is singing what! LOL

TO: JAVABEANS--Do you have a folder of all of the songs on your blog where I can download. I missed a lot of OT and Posts here.??

Prosecutor Princess needs more recognition! Kim So Yeon is amazing in PP (even though her character was a bit annoying in the first few episodes). And you'll probably fall in love with Park Shi Hoo—he has a KILLER SMILE, so beware! :p The chemistry between KSY & PSH is also amazzzzing. (:

Oh, and there's also great shoes in PP too... hehe.

Happy Friday!

The weekend is finally here (almost)! Going down to Temecula to wine country for a friend's birthday. He rented this crazy mansion for the weekend, complete with infinity pool. Looking forward to laying out and getting some sun while munching down on korean bbq :)

Have not watched this weeks eppies of CU yet - but i've been reading that it's angsty and frustrating. hooray, i cannot wait *sarcasm*. Actually, I have been enjoying CU for the strong acting on all sides - it's great what these actors can do with a script gone wack. And even if C!J!M! has turned back into self-flaying KH, i'm shallow enough that as long as I get to see him on-screen i'm happy. ha.

@ supah from OT#135

Japanese wack FOR SURE! haha. i still can't get my mind around it either.

i have to say
the last episodes of PT
fell flat

the writers tried introducing too much conflict to resolve in 1 or 2 eps without feeling choppy
I guess they could have worked it all out
but something just felt off kilter

kinda puts a damper on what had been a decent drama IMO

Hi all, happy Friday! I'm just 4 episodes in on Down With Love and having a good time with it. Every now and again, though, with certain of Jerry Yan's angles and looks, I get momentarily confused and think I'm watching Meteor Garden. And the lead female gets a bit over the top sometimes with the wacky facial expressions. But it's fun. But so far I've only been able to download 5 episodes, and they were hardsubbed. Apart from watching streamed (eg mysoju) does anyone know where I can download episodes? and find subtitles? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Happy Friday - and it's sunny here. I went to read about Ariel's 2 new dramas (are they both definitely confirmed??) I really like her a lot and I loved ISWAK, definitely my favorite tw drama and I watched tw dramas since before the dawn of idol dramas. As much as I love my tw dramas, I didn't watch any this week nor did I watch a kdrama. I am looking forward to starting Coffee House to see how that is (but I'll wait for english subs sites to die down in activity - otherwise, I'll have to do the chinese ones). It will be my first KJH drama! :) Looking forward to the hype and something different.

What I did watch and couldn't resist is the jdrama that got totally bashed here on OT last week (and for good reason) - TNK. I do not like kimura's character Rensuke at all, but ep 2 drew me in even more. I just have to figure out the twist, and I hope there is one cause to me, all signs seems to be pointing towards what most people are rooting for RenMi. And I'm rooting for them too, only I'd still like to see a twist or some sort. LCL's lack-there-of acting skills is rather apparent - especially up against such strong actors. Good thing she's playing a "model" for the time being which makes it a little better. Anyhow - I've been sucked into the drama.

Oh - I am dying to find out what happened in the ep 16 (the finale!) of PT. I hope it's really good, despite the "lowish" ratings and all the agruments about SYJ as KI, I really loved the way that PT turned out. Always loved SYJ - and really glad that she took on this role. MBC should be celebrating - I think this one of the few better ratings that they have gotten in this time slot in a long time. What is airing after PT? It is slipping my mind already.

My grandfather is coming all the way from TW to visit and also see my lil bro graduate from grad school next week- phd! Very exciting. =) So lots of family activities may equal no drama viewings at all. Although, my DH did a huge Lost marathon this week cause he didn't want to be spoiled by all the news on the 2 hr Lost finale on Sunday. He watched an entire season in one week.

I had a great time when watching DWL a couple of months ago. It totally changed my mind about Jerry - he can now be a certified lead in rom-com! Ella is not everyone's cup of tea but her turn in DWL is definitely much better than Hanakimi. I like Hanakimi for all its supporting cast but just not the lead couple (Wu Zhun - thanks but no thanks) which is so so unusual!

Sorry I can't help you with the dl question as I first watched it via steaming and then DVD,

Hi guys! Happy friday! (It feels like a weekly holiday here at DB, no joke xD)

Blahhh I'm getting tired of PT. Even the wonderfulness of SYJ and LMH is totally not enough for me to keep enjoying it. I feel like nothing has been happening. And for some reason Kae-In's realization at the end of 14 felt really contrived for me, though I have ep 15 loaded and ready to go. I think the only thing I enjoy about this drama is Chang-ryul xD Is that bad???

Anyway, question for everyone!! So I've only been watching PT so I have no idea about CS or PP, at least from a viewer's standpoint, because I have been following the recaps, somewhat. I was just wondering if other people who've been watching more than one of the Wed-Thu dramas could tell me which drama they enjoy watching the most? Not necessarily which is the best, but which one you most looked forward to watching.

Have a nice week!

happy OT friday, everyone!!! :)

10 aberdeen_angus:
you're right about all of it depending on (no pun intended) personal taste (teehee) CS is indeed gettingb too heavy, mostly coz it's the one that feels most REAL, yunno? the comlexities, the layers? ...it's great character mining, to be sure, but dramas are my escape from all that. SO. :/

i was a bit underwhelmed by the endings of PT and OML,actually. javabeans mentioned in the last PT recap that writers are not finding new ways to execute the twists and ending s of these new dramas, and i rather thought that it was so true--- i hadn't been satisfied with a drama ending in quite a while :/
i've liked dramas, to be sure... but i feel sort of like it's just all been DONE before, yunno? ..i mean, what's the last drama that really made you go "AAAhh, awesome finish".. ?

Happy Friday all!!! This is my only day off this week and so I am so excited and chillin indoors today. I have a question for anyone who will answer. I have recently got my roommate into watching Dramas with me, but she is not the average girl. She hates the whole damsel scenario. I was wondering if there are any shows that I can show her where the gyrl is not a damsel or even seem like one at all. Any suggestions? I have watched a few dramas but I cannot think of any off the top of my head. If you know any let me know. Thanx!

Just finished watching ep 16 of PP! and i loved it! thought that the last episode was a great finish to the series.

To those who have put off watching PP in favour of other dramas such as CU or PT, i would dare say that you are missing out on a lot of fun in this drama :) true that it had a pretty slow start in the beginning, but of all the three dramas, it had the best development in terms of story and characterisation. It also helps that there are solid acting performances put in by KSY (love her!) and the veteran actors.

Also watching CU at the same time, i haven caught ep 16 yet but i wonder why a lot of pple thought that ep 15 was bad? i personally enjoyed ep 15 simply for the sheer marvel of many flashbacks that seem to echo the present times (e.g KS was prevented from leaving a second time, this time not by DS but by his daughter. and how ironic that this time round, she leaves with a wounded heart and a wounded pride, unlike the other time when it was all an act.)

Now that PP is finished, there are new things to look forward to! Coffee House, Bad Guy and Road No. 1 :)

Has anyone watched Giant/ The country calls? are they any good or recommended to watch?

And does anyone know what will replace PT on MBC?

Happy Friday everyone! Newbie on OT.

@ 30 I am feeling your roommate. As a westerner, I rolls my eyes resisting the urge to f/f, but they appear to be a necessary element in Kdramas so what do I know. I have not watched any of the M-T lineups just lurking reading the wonderful recaps, which are more entertaining, imo.

Anywho, try "Harvest Villa".....the leading lady is not a damsel, but a dame.

Happy Friday,

I just finished watching PT on Viikii, and I swear, I loved it. The chemistry between the leads was awesome. The passion and the kissing, OMO..... I thought Korea would have banned it. I have NEVER seen kissing like that in ANY Kdrama... that was to die for. Someone wrote that the last episode fell flat. I do not agree with that at all, unlike PP... I felt that could of ended better.... Yeh IW and HR ended up together, but I was hoping for some lip touching, hands around each other hugging, confession of love..... I did not get that, it was all left up to interpretation.

CS is depressing, but I cannot tear myself away from it, because it is so different from other kdramas that I have watched, and the acting is top notch. I don't know what to expect in the next 4 episodes. I like surprises, and I hope I will be pleasantly surprised. The fairytale story of Cinderella was not a happy one at all, so I am not expecting happiness or anything real good to happen to the characters until close to the end... like the story of Cinderella, when she lived happily ever after. If no one is happy at the end, I will be quite miserable.

lb_tmi : thank you! but my birthday...is still next week. Apparently I had misled you...:P
and yes, I saw the pic earlier today - I follow him too, hehe, and already spazzed with colleague who is into Kpop too.

So, my birthday is still next week, but I already went shopping today to give myself presents...hehehe. And the most exciting present that I give to myself is......I enroll to Korean language course! And the first lesson is tomorrow morning. :D :D I'm so excited. I'm doing it for fun, but friends all understand - they encourage me, and even actually my supervisor was the one who found out about the course and encouraged me to join.. He said " so one day you can watch those dramas without subs! "

If, I somehow manage to learn Korean well, I promised to self I'll help the fansubber group.

And another birthday plan : next week we get a long weekend holiday, so I arranged that I can go to check our projects, which are located near my hometown, and then I can spend the holidays and birthday with my parents. I'm so happy about this, since last time I spent my b-day w/ them was 5 years ago.
Ah, I'm so looking forward to next week!

Down With Love is at its climatic peak on ep.15. Lovin' it! Jerry jealous? Emotionally exhausting however too adorable to resist. My high.

While P.S. Man gives me my low for the week, a heartaching love triangle manifesto. Karma Blue!

Anyone has watched Calling For Love starring Mike He and Ah Sa? How is it?

I can't believe in a 100 yrs. that Coffee House played NKOTB's Step By Step in the end of ep.02. I couldn't wait for JB's ep.02 recap, and had to get it out of my system. That was a wide eyed surprise... soooo cheesy yet fills that part well. Like I said, I did ROFL. Gawd, my teenie bopper flashback where I let my hormones rage in idol obsession. (Carinne crawls up my attic and finds my purple beanie lounge bag to fall back in time. And looks around here knowing there's gotta be an NKOTB vinyl record stashed away in its midst.)

If Ariel is going to play a remake to Coffee Prince, then I'd rather have Takeshi Kaneshiro than Jerry Yan to play her opposite. Ahhh, my Anaki Jin.

and i thought and expected that teukie would cry when he made his speech and mentioned kangin, kibum and hangeng but he didnt.... however, he did cry during the encore perf (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9X14tD78ec), guess he was just holding it in...

@Carinne
Calling for Love is kinda long but it's not bad... i wouldnt say it was brilliant but if ur a mike he fan, then i shouldnt be too hard watching it.

@ V

Yea, She is watching BOF the K version and that is why she is laid out in the street over Jan Di acting a mess all the time. I think the J version in better, Makino was not really like that. And Kimi wa petto is good too We are both watching Iris (or attempting to). Thanx for the suggestions.

@Song4u2

Yea, we are westerners too. So it is really hard to watch some of the things that the women will do in different cultures when on the west we would be like: "What?" "Excuse Me?" Then a punch to his jaw! LOL

I have not watched PP yet, but is it really worth my time? Since I am out of school for the summer I have dramas that I want to catch up on. I am watching CS, and PT and I love them both. But I have heard mixed reviews over PP. Is she a damsel? Would my roommate like her as a character?

@ djes

i know you told me your bday is next week.. but i was so excited (and still am!) that i couldn't resist sharing. and that's saying a lot for me, as i dislike sharing junK w/ anyone... just ask my twin: lovenyc52, the ONLY person i've shared w/ (until now). lol! plus, you're already celebrating.. i want in on the celebration. ha!

@ twin

i've not spoiled myself for this weeks eppis.. i have faith that i will have some skinship, and i don't want to be spoiled. i want the full effect of the skinship.. i've been really good and have not read any spoilers... but i miss the immediate discussions. :(

Happy Friday everyone! :) For all the Cinderella Sister fans, you guys have to check out the cast on Happy Together with Yoo Jae Suk and Park Myung Soo! The cast is absolutely hilarious, and it was nice to see Moon Geun Young joke around and laugh! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! :)

@ reluctantbutaddicted: Your welcome! I randomly found that sight a little while back...I don't even remember how. It's where I go if I want to watch TW drama raw while I wait for the subs.

I'm also watching P.S. Man, but honestly, I'm still hangin in there with this one because I'm a little OCD about finishing what I start! :)

Hello everyone. Now that PT and PS are over I won't have any recaps to look forward too. I hope JB takes on Bad Guy and also Country Calls it is really funny. My question is JB CAN YOU PLEASE SUB COUNTRY CALLS ? :) I used to be able to get viikii but with all the problems i don't anymore and i am really liking it even if i do not understand anything i watched it raw the four episodes so far. Please Javabeans give it a chance i would really appreciated. Are there people out there who liked i t too or is it just me?

Please
B.
