Kim Seung-soo cast in I Am Legend

Finally, news of a male cast member for upcoming romantic comedy series I Am Legend! Kim Seung-soo is joining the drama one year after his last (Job Well Done) and plays a prestigious lawyer who is the youngest ever partner at his top-notch law firm. Described as witty and confident, he gets entangled in a “ridiculous, absurd lawsuit” — a divorce suit brought forth by his wife (Kim Jung-eun), who had once been a legal clerk at this very firm.

This casting comes on the heels of Jang Young-nam‘s, who plays his new girlfriend and successful divorce lawyer. No doubt this sets up heroine Kim Jung-eun for a David-vs.-Goliath showdown, since she is by far the underdog in this scenario.

Now, I want to know who gets cast as her actual romantic lead! No details have yet been released about such a character, but I presume we’ll have to have another male lead to fill out our standard square, and my head is buzzing with possibilities. Lee Min-ki seems a perfect match, imo, though I don’t know if he’s keen on returning to the rom-com genre. (Despite the comment by many that they are tired of the younger-boyfriend dynamic, if ever a drama premise called for it, this would be it. How better to get back at your snooty, pretentious ex-husband than with a rockin’ younger boyfriend?)

I Am Legend follows Coffee House on SBS and premieres in August.

I happen to like this actor a lot. Not only for his acting abilities but for his wit and gift of gab on talk shows. I wish he would be the lead in more dramas but it is looking like his lead days are coming to a close.

I share the same excitement for a Lee Min-ki casting. Missing him a lot from his Dal Ja's Spring drama. If only we can be heard by SBS.

How about Gong Yoo? it's about time he chooses his 'comeback' drama? I can imagine him as 'rockin' younger boyfriend' too!
Kim Seung Su, I liked him in Job Well Done despite his character...

i love lee min ki and he would be perfect considering hw he's already a rocker..bt idk if he'd want to be a younger boyfriend again after Dal Ja's....and as a viewer i would also like to see him in more diverse roles...but i do agree that a younger rocking boyfriend would be awsome to face off against you snooty ex..lol

I love Lee Min Ki, and yeah how better a way to get back at your ex than to get someone younger and sexier?

But........ If they choose Lee Min Ki, I hope they don't make him as perfect as he was (or practically was) in Dal Ja Spring. Sometimes during Dal Ja Spring I felt as if he was too perfect to be real! Maybe he could be a bit goofy like in Evasive Inquiry Agency. And Gong Yoo would be nice, but from what has been revelaed about the lover's role, I don't if he'll fit in (maybe it's because we haven't seen him in action in soooo long).

Whatever the case, still missing Kim Sun-ah, but still looking forward to watching this one. Although my enthusiasm level isn't as high as before for this drama, maybe the male lead could revive my interest... Maybe.......

Oh, you make a good point. Even though, yes, dating a younger rocker would be the perfect revenge for your ex-husband, but I am tired of it. It never really interest me either.

I am still crossing my fingers for Jung Jun Ho (IRIS, Last Scandal of my Life) & Kim Jung Eun to work together once again and this would be perfect! He could be the man from her past... ;-)

@ momosan & nycgrl

I know, right? I was pretty impressed with myself. I was watching Ep 5 of Bad Guy and it was like a little bell went off...(must go to DB, must go to DB)!

"How better to get back at your snooty, pretentious ex-husband than with a rockin’ younger boyfriend?"

I remember there was a "deleted" scene in Notting Hill when the reverse in terms of gender was protrayed. Hugh Grant met his ex-wife when he was out with Julia Roberts and he was so happy to show off his gorgeous new girlfriend that he did a leap in the air. I read about it in the screenplay book but unfortunately, that scene was edited out.

So, case of having the last laugh?

Isn't Kim Seung-soo reprising a similar role that he played in Job Well Done, the ex that caused all the heartache? I do like his character in Kimchee Radish though.

I like the idea of Jung Jun Ho @ 14 aX...... a self-made millionaire who falls head over heel for KJE. Another adjummeralla!
