just wanted to share my experience at my first kpop concert!
attended the Wondergirls Concert in Chicago w/ 2PM as the opening act on Tuesday. tbh, i only went because 2PM was the opening act. but I WAS BLOWN AWAY by the Wondergirls!!! Yenny’s voice is AMAZING!! Yubin is BEAUTIFUL! and HaeLim’s English is SO GOOD! Sohee’s solo was pretty dang sexy. and Sun.. she is just WOW! i was really impressed by the talent of these girls! as awful as this may sound, i was glad when some of the 2PM fans left the concert, because it made the Wondergirls so much more enjoyable!
2PM were AWESOME!!! SO HOTT! Junho’s live singing is no joke. that boy is SO TALENTED!!! i just hope he doesn’t lose his voice covering both his and Junsu’s parts. and his butt is truly DAEBAK! ha! Taec was so captivating.. he exudes such charisma on stage. it was hard to not just stare at him alone–which i ended up doing most of the time. and he’s NOT even my favorite!! he just drew my eyes to him all the time! he’s really really good-looking. shallow, i know, but he truly is good-looking. WOW. Chansung’s facial structure is so HOT! his side/profile is beautiful. Khun really does look angelic, even more so w/ the lighter hair and his fair skin. Wooyoung–sucks that his mic kept going out.. cuz he’s got one killer voice! and his ssanti dance was WIN! Thanks, Taec, for announcing it so i could take my eyes off you and watch Wooyoung! it was a SPECTACULAR night.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! I’m off to Santa Cruz to buy some fragrant rose bushes. By the time I get back hope the next episode of My Country Calls is subbed. I think I love this drama as much as Coffee House. Both are a good romp!!!
I also like the J Drama Moon Lovers, but is it just me, or does ep. 6 feel a little too rushed to anyone else. I hate it when dramas get to the end and try to wrap up loose ends. Some times things just seem too absurd. Here are some recent dramas where I hated the last ep.: Personal Taste ( How could the UNNIE guy end up with Inne) Down With Love ( What!!!! six years later!! Where is the wedding? the sister still has not married in 6 years? Ridiculous!!)
Does anyone else have any endings they just hate?
Also end of Chuno….. the wrong guy died!!!!! Say it isn’t so!!!!

OMG, BEST FRIDAY in a long time. One of my dreams when I was waiting to leave for Seoul was to see Big Bang perform live. Well today that dream came true. There was a free pre World Cup performance at Olympic Park and I got to sit in the front row…because I was a foreigner:). Soooooooo close to Taeyang. After School also performed. Big Bang did 3 songs, and then G-dragon came down stage (fudging insane fan girls slammed into me) he was not even 5 feet away from me. It was awesome!!!!!!! I’m glad I went, and I feel really lucky to have been so close to them. My dream came true!!!! So many good memories and photos:). It was a great way to end my semi-crappy week.

Now you know why all my pics were of Taec (*blush*) even though I’m not even such a huge fan….he just exudes such stage prescene you can’t help but stare at him…it’s like a mosquito to one of those scented bug things. Don’t you wish there were eng subtitles running along at the bottom whenever they spoke. -lol- Did you get any merchandise…good pics/vids?

Been reading the recaps of Coffee House and eventhough I don’t watch the show, i think Park Shi-yeon & Kang Ji-hwan look great together!
I have yet to start another drama after CS finished last week. While I’m glad all the angst is over, I kinda miss waiting to watch MGY and CJM every Wed and Thurs. I hope they do another drama together soon! Kind of in the mood to watch old dramas so I’m using javabeans’ rating section to help me choose what I’ll watch

i thought of you when i was staring at Taec.. the thought process went something like “yenchan was right, Taec is SO HOTT in person. i will fight yenchan til death for Taec” ha! i didn’t get many pictures of 2PM because i was searing them into my brain.. but i have some fancams that have been taking forever to load to YT and i can’t seem to find time to finish uploading them. only one up so far. i’ll send it to you laters when i can get access to YT. The boys only spoke English, so it was mostly Taec speaking. Junho did say something in Korean tho. yes, there should have been subtitles. lol.

Wondergirls and 2PM have concerts in LA tonight. Anaheim tomorrow, and SanFran on Sunday. you should GO! GO! GO! heck, i drove 4.5 hrs, got lost for another 2 hrs, and then stood in line in the RAIN for yet another 4 hrs for this concert. and i’d do it all again in a heartbeat, if given the chance!

Thank goodness it’s Friday. It has been a depressing week for me- been having an existential crisis. I feel like i haven’t progressed in life since I graduated from college a few years ago while everyone is moving at a good pace, finding their place in life.
the only highlights of my week were the Glee finale and being offered an opportunity to get trained in a different dept at my part time job and the Coffee House recaps! Thank you for the recap! I love how you can’t predict what is going to happen next!
@asianromance – i completely feel – I graduated a yr and a half ago and was in a funk for the majority of it. I didn’t like what I was doing…but didn’t know what I wanted to move on to and family responsibilities kept me from being able to take any action. After a lot of reading and talking to other folks, I realized this is actually really common for our generation and for 20something yr olds to be going through. Most of the “happy” friends you see..and probably dealing with their own insecurities and issues too. Everyone is different and everyone moves at their own pace. The key is to keep an optimistic attitude, and keep working at bettering yourself…and believe that eventually things fall in place. And also to enjoy the process – it’s ok to not know exactly where you’re going, as long as you’re moving somewhere. I’m slowly getting myself out of my funk by reminding myself of all that I have to be thankful for (a job, a caring family), doing things that make me happy and believing that someday things will fall into place if I keep working at it. And a good dose of kdrama happiness helps too. ^^
Oh, and I LOVED the Glee finale!!!! Glee has been on/off with me (with some eps being wonderful, but others leaving a bead aftertaste in my mouth) – but the finale sealed my love…at least enough for another season. ^^ Tell me I wasn’t the only one bawling at “To Sir with Love”..

MASSIVE PAROXYSMS OF JEALOUSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially the Wondergirls/2PM concert, I was DYING to go and was all set…and then I realized I had to go home and wouldn’t be anywhere close to ANY of the concerts! *sobs* Does anyone know of any good concerts in Seoul in July or the first part of August? I’ll be in Korea then (yayayayay!!!)

I LOVE that show!!! i was a total gleek in jr/sr high!! i didn’t get to watch the Glee finale because i was busy.. at a Wondergirls/2PM concert. so good reason to miss it. i have to remember to dl it for future watching before the season starts up again.. yeah, i’m that much of a procrastinator. ha!

i graduated from college 6 years ago (omg… how has it been that long?!?!? WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?!) and I still have no solid direction. I mean, after working for a few years I know what I DON’T want to do, so I guess that’s a step in the right direction. I attribute it to the fact that my college major was one of those useless ones that wouldn’t really play a big part in any kind of job without a masters to go along with it. @ yenchan is right – this is really common for our generation. we will switch jobs many times before finding our niche, unlike our parents who more than likely worked the same job for 30 years. so don’t worry too much – just make sure you’re enjoying whatever you’re doing, whatever it may be. With more work and life experience, you’ll figure it out in time.

ok, i know this is bad, but I only got into Glee this week. My friend called me and asked me to turn on Glee halfway thru the finale because she had a question about a song. I had never seen an episode before and watched the 2nd half of the finale lol. Now I need to go back and watch the entire season. Luckily they are replaying the whole season this summer, but they didn’t show Ep 1 – any idea where I can find it???? But I am totally addicted to the music already. And WHY did i not watch this sooner? I knew Idina Menzel was in it and I adore her to pieces and yet I held back. SIGH. at least now i have summer watching lined up?
@Spookmsom – that’s all I’m asking for Xmas..Puck&Finn wrapped up with a neat little bow..oh, and Puck’s hot guitar too..so they can serenade me with xmas love songs -lol- A girl can dream, neh? ^^ Think Santa will throw in Mr. Shou too if I’m extra good? The only thing I’m sad about though is all the shows I love (Alias, Firefly) are *amazing* the first season, but then take a nosedive in the 2nd season. *fingers crossed* that Glee won’t be that way.
I’d highly recommend Yankee-kun to Mesane-Chan. I got started because of all the squeals of “Yaaankkkeee-kun” here on OT…and I haven’t looked back since. ^^ it’s typical japanese school drama….but I do love me a female lead that can kick some butt. ^^ Oh, and Yankee-kun’s adorable squiting facial expressions may have tempted me a little too….just a little…^__^

Daesung is adorkable. It’s funny cause they all look/are so short in real life. Gdragon is petite:). Can I just say TOP is sooooooo yummy. He’s just got the cool vibe going on without even trying. I’m really liking 2PM these days. Especially Taec, he really stands out to me, and Nickchun is adorable too. My students are getting me into my Kpop bands, but Big Bang will always be # for me. I cannot wait till they start back up in the summer.
I LOVED THE GLEE FINALE. I cried when Will sang the song at the end and of course when they sang to him. I was pissed off with Finn at the end, why is he looking at Quinn…seriously dude stop messing with Rachel if you are just going to toss her aside. I love the friendship btw Mercedes and Quinn, it’s unique because they are such opposites. Can I just say that Will is hot, if he was my teacher I would go to class everyday and sit in the front row. His arms are huge:). I don’t know what I am going to do without my hour of laughter every week:(.
My cousin went to see the Wonder Girls and 2PM last night in Dallas and she said it was awesome. Too bad I missed out. Hope you all have a blast.

Thank you for the encouragement! I was totally okay with having no direction until I had recently hit the 2 year mark after graduation and then it was like someone had just flipped the panic switch and all those feelings I should have been feeling the past 2 years came flooding in at once.
Anyways, onto happier things– GLEE!!! I almost cried at To Sir With Love, but since my brother was there, I held it in except for the tears pooling in my eyes. Actually I almost cried at every song in this episode- from the moment the curtain spread open during their performance of Faithfully. =*) What a journey for them all! I hope we get to hear more from Matt, Mike, and Brittany next season. @maria, you should definitely let us know how your date with Mr.shue-look-alike went!!

I am also watching Yankee-kun to Megane-chan!! I’m in love with Shinagawa-kun and his reactions to Adachi Hana’s antics and his momentary delusions of being in some sort of high school love story.

Also good news on the Jang Nara front at lest for me..I know she has both her haters and those that couldn’t care less but I think there still a few faithful fans that may be interested.. seems finally The Bratty Princess is going to get its sequel after lord knows how many miss-starts. It to be called Unruly Queen { rough translation of the first was unruly princess so i guess you could call it Bratty Queen}
filming starts on Oct with a budget of 20 million yuan [close to 3 mill usa] and of course staring Jang Nara..there also a film at the end of the year but there not much details on that.

I feel like tearing as I read your posts – I feel exactly the same. I’ve been rather depressed for quite a while now, stuck in a job that I don’t like (for almost 3 yrs, since graduation), pay sucks, lots of OT, being unrecognised, unappreciated… But the job market isn’t good, and I don’t exactly know what I want to move on to. It’s like mood swings – some days I’ll think “ok, I can handle this”, but some days I just feel totally depressed. Kdramas are like my only form of escapism. *big sigh*

I am so excited to jump on the Gleek wagon, even at this belated date hehe. My main draw is Sue Sylvester cuz I love the actress, but Will and Finn and Puck are pretty easy on the eyes (and ears!) as well. And hearing mini-Idina sing is pretty darn amazing.
@ lb_tmi – I was a jr/hs gleek too – I think that’s why this shows resonates so much with me. Whenever the group performs…I remember the memories come back and it’s like I can actually *feel* the euphoria during a performance. I re-live my choir years by belting along to the songs on the show like it was a karaoke session or something – lol! Yea, my neighbors stay out on Tuesday nights…
As for the Taec love…you can have him only if you promise that I can have him when he’s on stage. ^^ Actually before their performance I was like, “Meh, I think he’s sorta snobby..” then they come on and bam! All mental processing stops and I was told (since my brain was no longer working) that I start spewing stuff like… “ ZOMG so HAWT – yennie WANTZ NOW”
@lovenyc_52 – ya know, it surprised me how much people diverge from their “college majors”. Before I thought you go to architect school to be an architect…med school to be a doc, but when I started asking around me…my coworkers were a random mix of majors and somehow they ended up in accounting. Maybe it’s nosy of me, but I love hearing people’s stories about where they started and where they are now…I guess I’m hoping that one of those will give me insight as to what I should do with *my* life…

Happy Friday everyone! I’m one of the people that’s actually thankful for the reprieve from KDramas due to the world cup. Not that I don’t enjoy the worldcup and all it’s craziness, but it’ll give me some time to catch up on my drama watching.
@Gleeks, Glee is great. I’m not exactly a fan of the story lines, and the cheese makes me laugh out loud sometimes, but I still have to admit, I love it. The music is fabulous and Sue is hilarious. She delivers her lines in a way only Jane Lynch can. So, I’m full on with all the soundtracks on my ipod as well.

funny thing is, my high school was so nerdy that our show choirs were full of the popular kids. As for college majors, I was a Social Ecology major with a minor in Education. What the hell am i gonna do with that? No idea. I was an Early Childhood Education teacher for a few years until I realized if I kept that up, I’d never want kids of my own. And then I did accounting for a few years. And now I’m doing account management. Am I using my college major? Negative. But I am using my previous work experience as stepping stones, so we’ll see where that takes me

OMG! that was totally my experience w/ Taec!!! u see, i was w/ my girls (daughter and niece) and when 2PM came out and the crowd did a mad rush to the stage.. i lost my girls!! i have no recollection of turning on my camera and pressing record, but i must have, as it started recording. ha! i was still searching the crowd for the girls to make sure they were ok and not trampled on.. and at some point, i looked up and saw Taec–and all thoughts vanished from my mind and i just started spazzing and screaming. and the thought of finding the girls ended up to be something like “they’re big girls now, they can handle themselves in this crowd.” it’s all very evident in my fancam the MOMENT i saw him, cuz you hear everyone else screaming.. and then BAM, it’s all me screaming the rest of the time! lol. outta the 3 of us, i’m the one that ended up closest to losing my voice. ha!

I miss Zidane. This France team looks LOST and I would be mad if they win this game. Uruguay did play good defense (or France’s offense was very bleh, u pick) on top of some ‘true color’ fouls.

Personal Taste is almost sold out at the DVD store, and I just had to buy one even though I’m all sorts of meh about it. LMHMG is worth owning, at the end of the day. If only he would wear less makeup!
Wow, so many glee fans, and I´ve never watched one episode… not even a minute of it… sounds like I missed out on something.. hehe…
It´s nice or not nice but reassuring to see that I wasn´t /am the only one that is having existencial issues.. hmm I graduated from a college in California with a B.A in physical anthropology and latin american literature, I didn´t know what to do with it as I wasn´t really that inclined to continue anthropology or literature in postgraduate schools … so I did nothing for a year and then hauled ass to Mexico and now I´m in med school in mexico…. and I don´t know how that happened, but so far it´s interesting… Just lonely sometimes being far away from family, and people don´t always get my what they call “american jokes/humour” so i feel so outsider-ish, lol
