With just a few more weeks till MBC unveils its Korean War drama Road No. 1, here’s a look at star So Ji-sub in several of his guises as the main character, Jung-woo. The melodrama boasts a hefty production budget of 13 billion won, large-scale battle scenes, and heart-wrenching romance between the leads, So Ji-sub and Kim Haneul. (Rounding out the love triangle is Yoon Kye-sang, who falls for the girl and fights alongside the guy, playing the classic part of the third wheel.)
Filmed and produced almost entirely in advance, the drama has currently shot 90% of its footage. Road No. 1 premieres on June 23, just shy of the 60-year anniversary of the outbreak of the war on June 25.

What you prob meant to say was you loved his performances, or maybe more superficially, you love his physical appearance.
But by saying you love him, you’re implying you have an emotional connection with him. Which I doubt actually exists.

I personally don’t think you need to have that many connections with someone to actually love them, but of course all readers should know that fans use the word “love” quite loosely with regards to celebs. I think admiration is a better term or OBSESSED lol.
He looks pretty good here, I just might watch this drama.
Is he supposed to look that orange? You can visibly see where the foundation stops. Eeks! I hope the lighting for the actual drama makes it seem more natural. If not, that makeup artist seriously needs to learn how to match foundation colors to faces better.

Likely amazing drama , solid casts , i’m interesting in this kind of K drama , as the
brotherhood of war . Seoul 1945 is good drama too , but casts are a little bit weak in acting , love story in that drama is not interesting but political situations during
K war are interesting , the true color of communist stated to show since then , in Seoul 1945 if they had different casts and love story different it would be more
realistic to watch , the pianist and the young communist lead actor should be in love but their path of life , their ideology different that why they can not be together …
i hope story in this drama is more realistic and touching .

I didn’t put down any other bloggers.
The way the classic love triangle plays out against the backdrop of war reminds me of the plot of Pearl Harbor, starring Josh Hartnett, Ben Affleck, and Kate Beckinsale (again, I’m comparing the two plotlines, NOT the actual wars themselves). Although I wasn’t fond of that movie, I did enjoy the brotherhood between the two male leads, so I hope this one will portray the same type of relationships. I, for one, am sick of the jealous-third-wheel-saboteur characters.

haha, whoa, this post turns out to have generated quite interesting comments. and since english is a second language for me as well, i second what @15 has to say and since we are all here with one thing in common that is our ‘love’ and passion for korean dramas, lets just all enjoy ourselves. there’s nothing wrong in saying you love these actors, tho you haven’t even met them (or in my case speak their language)
anyway, the trailer looks good and promising-tho’ there’s no sub, and as predicted it’ll be very heavy and dramatic. yes i have to admit it’s a lil pearl harbor-ish, and is it too early for me to be rooting for yoon kye sang’s character? haha.
I’m so NOT a fan of this guy.
hmm I might go back and forth between SJS and YKS while watching this. Two intense brooding guys who happen to be delish. Unfortunately I am so not a KHN fan. I wish it was someone else like one of SJS’s previous leading ladies.
