LOLx...you're right. I immediately thought of A Man Called God when I saw this poster lol. I'll be watching this for Cha Seung Won, and him alone. Srsly JWS is never that good. Sometimes he tries too hard to look good but no, he's not succeed. Su Ae is just..alright I guess. Lets see.

What's cheesy to me is the fact that every single one of them is a holding a gun. And as JB already said, it's highly exaggerated, I think they're trying too hard here.

I totally don't feel the show from these posters. Athena better be good, if not, all these are going to be wasted. I don't want Siwon's talents to be wasted. That boy has SS3 and No Other promotions going on...and so he'll be stretched.. SO DON'T WASTE HIS TALENTS!!!

Actually, I kind of dig these. It's kind of 50's/60's style (which may be due to the North/South conflict subject matter), like a throwback to the advertising for the British spy series "The Avengers", which looks cheesy in a cool 60's sort of way:

Gah! I was hoping this would be a KBS show, since they manufacture the cheese (with a minute number of exceptions) but manage to still get the ratings, I'd want Jung Woo-sung's debut drama appearance to reap in the ratings no matter how bad the show gets.
I guess this'll follow up Giant's slot when it finishes airing in early November. I was hoping it'd be the Comrades: Almost a Love Story remake, or maybe that would take the SBS Weds-Thurs slot after Daemul.

one of the things i have observed from SBS is that they play idol pop songs in dramas. so i think we'll hear run devil run as one of the chasing scenes. continued with the snsd's Oh! song "oh, oh, oh, OPPA kidnapped me!"

they should learn from Road No.1, it doesnt mean that as long as they have the stars and big budget drama means they can rack the ratings. but it is a long way to go, lots of changes to come(maybe).

I'm definitely with JB on wanting this to be campy but I'm worried they're going to play it straight. Everyone looks to be trying their hardest to look badass/cool but I'm not picking it up.

I do like CSW sporting a tattoo. I like it a lot.

The editing and composition of that poster are both terrible. For a high- budget production, this is really shabby & disappointing.

Goodness that poster reminds me of City Hunter's graphics so much it's sad.... 1987vs.2010.... not good, the gun thing is sadly outdated... The execution and edition of the thing is unmentionable....

I do hope that the actual drama will take a completely different visual direction...

Does it matter if it sucks? I don't think so. And I think you'll concur with me on why.

And let me preface by saying I think the writing is going to be the #1 problem with the drama (not Lee Ji Ah's OTT acting). Unless they are going small-scale like TBDAW, to go large-scale like IRIS is going to undoubtedly garner "it's -a-24/Alias-knockoff" comparisons. And you can't compare anything to mega-budget hit US spy shows (yet).

And yeah, this poster aethetic is nothing to rave about, except my eyes keep darting back and forth like a squirrel with ADD, between Jung Woo Sung and Cha Seung Won.

I realize that if the story sucks, I can always MUTE it, FF through everyone else, and just watch JWS and CSW light up the screen with their tall smoking ways. That's not a bad way to watch a drama. I did the same mid-way through Chuno.

Oh, JB. Dear, sweet, Javabeans. Your hopefulness does you credit, but I think we both know that this show is going to play straighter than a laser beam. Forget camp. There will be no "sending up" of stereotypes and cliches. There will be only pure, unadulterated stereotypes and cliches. And guns. Lots of guns. And hopefully a shedload of Choi Siwon (O mai gah!) and Cha Seung-won (Jesu Christo!).

As for the poster, heck yeah! Graphic design FAIL. If you take into account scale, position, coloring and the ever holy Rule of Thirds, three focal points on this poster jump out at me and they are(1) Su Ae's oily, shiny arm, (2) Choi Siwon's gun, and (3) Cha Seung-won's hair. What the -- seriously, what in the world....

Goodness. The worse this seems, the more excited I get. I SO hope you're recapping this.

I am looking forward to Cha Seung Won....will watch him in anything...he always gives to his roles. Definite Bad boy/Bad ass is he. CSW really has the tat.
Jung Woo Sun is a favorite too.
So my main focus here are these two.

Where is So Yeon Kim when you need her. She clearly can do badass...
of course I think Kim Sun Ah can also if she ever got the chance but I digress.

The other two male cast members I cant speak to because I am green to them.

I have seen both the female leads in one drama and liked the roles, so I will reserve opinion there..Li Ji Ah in The Legend and Su Ae in 9 ends 2 out ..with that said for me So Yeon Kim set the bar.....( at least for me) for deadly femme fatale.

and I dont like the look of the poster either.

Kim min-jong's photo is a bit puzzling. Is he caught in a moment of surrender, or playing catch with his pistol?...just odd!

Yup, thats a real full bicep-tat on Cha Seung Won. And it's his daughter's name on it, too! I'd swoon over him some more, except I swooned-it-all over him in City Hall, and the swoon is it with him.

Between this and the poster of Mujeokja, you bring the crackers and I'll bring the white wine. Fall of 2010 looks to be straight curds from Korea.

I will mock Athena as vociferously as any critic if the drama sucks donkey, but I will also pet it like my own fugly puppy. I rewatched The Restless last week, and OMG if there is a thing such as A Very Dumb Movie that one wins the prize, and yet I can rewatch it anytime for My I Lub You. Anytime.

agree with you 100%, would definitely watch Athena though I think the plot sucks but still, am sure that I would enjoy evey minute watching it....with Jung Woo Sung, Cha Seung Won and Choi Si Won on your screen who wouldnt??!!

Soo Ae: Actually I like her picture. Sounds strange, but I actually think both this and previous poster has been less about the guys and more about selling prospective audience of Soo Ae as full-on Action Babe. They're getting there.

Choi Si Won: Isn't this the same picture as the one before?

Kim Min Jong: His 'stache is vaguely reminiscent of Deathwish. Win.

Cha Seung Wong: Usually his essemble is impeccable, but I dare think his hair is wearing his head. And how the hell do you aim with all that mess in your eyes?

Jung Woo-sung: I stepped into a pile of doo doo!! His collars are swallowing him.

Lee Ji Ah: Sujini has an automatic rifle and easily the largest piece of everybody. Who knew Yonsama was an arms dealer?
