A year after her last drama, Cain and Abel, Han Ji-min is signing on to a new drama project, which is the next project for A-list screenwriter Noh Hee-kyung.
In the upcoming Love, Hurt, and Showers [연애, 상처 그리고 소나기], Noh writes “a story of a family and those around them who embrace love and pain.” It’s a pretty simple-sounding description, but Noh is a writer who is more about skilled execution than high concept. She has made a name for herself writing insightful, poignant material such as Goodbye Solo and The World They Live In, the latter of which was her most recent series and centered around her own world of drama producers and writers.
Han Ji-min plays the elder of two sisters who lives with her mother and grandmother. A few of Noh’s favorite go-to actors are currently under consideration, including Bae Jong-ok, who was in both of Noh’s above-mentioned dramas. In addition to Cain and Abel, where she played a North Korean refugee, Han’s recent roles include the sageuk drama Yi San and the period project Capital Scandal. Meanwhile, Noh Hee-kyung recently penned a one-act drama, Red Candy, to kick off the new series Drama Special.
The drama will get a slot on a broadcast schedule after it has secured its lead actor.

I adore Han Ji-Min, but the writer, I’m not sure about…The World They Live In is sooo not my taste…that series bored the hell out of me…don’t know how many tiems I’ve tried watching it b/c of Hyun Bin and Song Hye Kyo, but ended up stopping after Ep. 1…LOL…I seriously hope this is a good drama cuz I love Han Ji-Min especially Capital Scandal!

The writing of the World They Live In is not to blame, it’s PD Pyo not really grasping the material. If u r looking for all the OTT twists every 10 min, yup, not ur taste

Since she likes to cast the same actors my mind is reeling about who the male lead is going to be. CJM? Maybe HyunBin? I would just freaking die if CJM is cast or even Hyun Bin.

I really really want to like Capital Scandal and found both leads so adorable (esp KJH in fedora. nom nom.) but I just couldn’t get into it. So I feel indebted to watch HJM being awesome somewhere else. This might just be it.

I had the same feeling about Capital Scandal . I really really wanted to like it but I just couldn’t get into it. It was just a chore to watch each episode and I eventually admitted defeat and stopped at ep 8 which is telling since I was able to finish BOF & PT.
A new Noh Hee-kyung’s drama! *HAPPINESS* I don’t know about The World They Live In since I heard enough bad reviews to not attempt to watch it but I really, truly, absolutely LOVE Goodbye Solo~~ I hope that this drama gets a good PD! Noh Hee-kyung’s drama can turn out bland if the directing is unable to capture and project the depth that Noh Hee-kyung is trying to bring across. Also, we need a male lead who can act!! CJM please, CJM please, CJM please~~ He did such a fabulous job in Goodbye Solo!

I’m an avid fan of Han Ji Min esp. her Cain & Abel role “Oh Young Ji”, she’s so good in her North Korean Accent. Not only she’s a portrays her role in a drama well, also being an altruistic person. Looking forward to see her in this drama. Hope to be united with So Ji Seob or Kang Ji Hwan.

exactly. Capital Scandal has all the right components; I love the Jazz Age and the setting and the costumes (well, most of the times). I love Kang Ji Hwan. I like the premise of Japanese occupation and the Korean national movement. I’ve never watched Han Ji-min before but I like her in it. Too bad the show’s less than the sum of its parts.
Btw, I too am guilty of not finishing Goodbye Solo. I will pick it up again and finish it these days. It’s the only Noh Hee-kyung drama I’ve watched, and as brilliant it is, I found it so… contemplative, and I need to be in a certain frame of mind to keep watching. As opposed to something breezy and fun I usually watch, like, say, You’re Beautiful.

FWIW, I thought Capital Scandal was fabulous (very stagey-, almost like a musical without the music), and I still feel it’s Kang Ji Hwan’s most supple TV performance. I think it’s kinda nice partner to the movie Radio Days.
I’m happy to see Han Ji Min return. It kinda feels like a comeback. She left suddenly and seriously due to undisclosed reasons. And then recently, there was the rather “why now?” statement about her and SJS.
I’m also very happy to c her again. I keep thinking that becoz of the SJS scandal. she went into hide out. Plus her drop out from Hero, but maybe that’s for the better thinking how that show turns out.

Wonderful news! Han Ji Min is my favorite actress. She was fabulous in both “Cain & Abel” and “Yi San”. I’m sure she will be so again in this drama.
I really love her, but i don’t know why people used to dislike her but not anymore. she’s gorgeous and im really excited to see her again. ihope the main guy will be awesome & they will be a lot of chemistry together. luvvv u han ji min!

I hv nothing to add to what you guys hv said about our mutual idol HJM but a sense of antipation n jubilation for seeing her again in her upcoming drama Love,Hurt n Showers.Like you, I hv been wondering who her next costar will be.She looks demure n can always evokes the affectionate,protective emotions in all of her costars,from Uhm Tae Woong to Eric Moon,from Kang Ji Hwan & Lee Seo Jin to So Ji Sup.Hence,her apparent compatibility with them that triggers such electrifying chemistry between her n her costars. i only saw han ji min in the serial Yi San Where I think she was absolutely gourgeaous. and a great chemistry with lee seo jin, i haven’t seen capital scandal yet but i hope i will see it soon
