To be honest, I don’t really know what “character cut” means, other than giving an excuse to post a new photo of Jung Woo-sung as a spy in a tux. Which is reason enough for me!
Jung plays “Lee Jung-woo,” an agent with the NTS, a counter-terrorist organization. He romances Su Ae and goes on heroic missions like saving the president’s daughter. He’s skilled and sharp and inspires admiration from his juniors, like Choi Siwon. He juggles stylish formal affairs with super-secret ops and icy martinis like Bond, James Bond. Okay, I’m making assumptions on that last one but really, like that’s a stretch.
We’ve already seen the photo/poster below, but it’s part of the “character cut” package, so here we go again. Not that it’s a great burden to have to look at it a second time:

Off topic question. How do you say “You are Welcome ” in Korean? I’ve heard people say “Thank You”, but never “You are Welcome” in Korean Dramas. Does anyone know why is that?

That first pic is epic. He’s holding a gun and his gaze is direct, which gives him an air of danger, yet his eyes are so warm, melty, and thoughtful… like all he needs is love. Come to me, you little spy, you! I will smooth away all that international intrigue (if you ditch Su Ae, that is…)
I also feared that “character cut” meant that his character was going to bite it in Athena, which would mean that my only reason for watching the show would be beautiful Siwon…which, actually, is reason enough! But I am still glad that Mr. Bond, er, Lee, will live a long long time to bring sufficient hunkiness to us all.

Haven’t seen him anything yet (GASP- I know, I’m probably going to regret it when this airs) but even I had a near heart attack for all the JWS gushers in the comments section when I thought he was OUT.

I’m so excited to see his & Su Ae’s chemistry on screen! I really hope the writers gives the women strong personality and more substance this time. I hated Kim Tae Hee’s character mainly because I felt she was wrong casted. I wouldn’t have minded if she and Kim So Yeon switched characters instead even though I loved her as Sun Hwa.

Character’s Cuts? Is it the opposite of Director’s Cut? Perhaps they are the photos/moments which the character has chosen for us and in this case is Jung Woo Sung?

It’s too early to decide, but just from reading this character cut, “Lee Jung Woo” sounds like quite the cliched action hero character. We’ll see how Jung Woo Sung digests his role.
