Lee Jong-hyuk’s fans buy drama staff lunch

It’s always cool to see fans giving gestures like this one, in support of an actor and his current project. Lee Jong-hyuk (Chuno, Crush and Blush) was surprised by his fan club on the 25th, who organized a boxed lunch for the 80 staffers on the set of his KBS Saturday-Sunday drama Marry Me.

The members of the fan club packed the lunch themselves (and it looks like they have individually printed labels on them), and surprised the entire staff, moving everyone with the grand gesture. They came in honor of Lee’s birthday, and also presented him with a guitar as a birthday present.

Lee said, “The love of my fans, who came here in this heat, gives me so much strength. The dedication and thoughtfulness to feed the busy and weary staff is so touching, and to repay the fans who always cheer me on from the sidelines, I always want to show them my best.”

Biggest difference between American and Korean fans I've seen so far. Wow that's so awesome.

It always amazes me when fans of an actor do some good deeds for them..
They are fully dedicated and really supportive ..
I certainly admire this quality that they have..

Korean fans are so supportive of celebrities.. but then again, they can be extremely scary and mean when you piss them off.

I recently watched Happy Together S3 ( a variety show with Yoo Jaesuk as the MC, in case you didn't know :D ) with Lee Jong-hyuk and the rest of Marry Me lead casts.
I always thought Lee Jonghyuk as a serious person - especially after his role in Powerful Opponent, and his face - but in that show, he showed a completely different side.
They talked briefly about the drama, actually I'm interested with the premise - have a special weakness with family dramas, i'm an ajuhma at heart - but this is a long run drama, and so far haven't found it subbed.. :(

i've seen such a good thing on cinderalla's sister set. it was so adorable, too. and i think only korean fans are so dedicated to the beloved ones in the world. i have never seen such a thing in my country (Turkey), there are only fan clubs... it's really amazing!

It seems a nice gesture, but then the celebrities are so afraid of upsetting their fans.It must be difficult to uphold the image the fans have of them.

In the second picture, the girl in the back is giving the "peace sign" but the hair of the girl in front of her is covering one of her fingers, so we only see her middle finger . . .

Korean fans never cease to amaze me with their devotion to their idols. Very different from American fans but it's always great to see them support the actors since they work so hard.

It was my greatest dream to be able to go to Seoul & see & feel KOREA + of course, to somehow see my faves Gong Yoo, Park Shi Hoo, Kim Hyun Joong, & the rest of my KActor "crushes"!!! It all came to fruition last July 2nd...6 months of planning & I was in my dreamland...Seoul, South Korea!!!

I have a very embarassing (especially for a professed hard-core Kdrama addict!!!) ...totally SHAMEFUL story to reveal regarding my first ever encounter with a Korean Actor & this happened last July 5th. My friends & I went to Yeuido, firstly to see the famous 63 building & more importantly...to see the broadcast networks...MBC & KBS!! While we were able to enter KBS, we were told that we had to apply online if we wanted to watch variety live shows & the like...so while my friend was inquiring inside the building, I went out to take some pictures around the entrance/lobby area.
I had just finished watching "CHUNO" back in Manila before going to Seoul ...& lo & behold..Hwang Chul Woong was striding right in front of me!!! So, I approached him to ascertain if my eyes weren't playing tricks on me...when I was right in front of him, guess what I called him? JANG HYUK, I said!!! Oh no!!! Knew right away I made a big BOOBOO!!! But he smiled politely & said, "no, no" & waved & smiled at me!! LJH is definitely more good-looking in person & a lot younger than I thought!!! But before I could ask for a picture to be taken with him..his mean manager went between us(well, its his job, anyway!!) & said, "NO!!"
Lee Jong Hyuk wasn't the only KStar I got to see...while stalking NOA entertainment office in GangNam, in our effort to at least see a glimpse of our beloved Gong Yoo...I saw Jeon Do Yeon(she's also a NOA talent)..Cannes filmfest best actress!!! She's so much more beautiful in person & had no make up on, dressed just in her jogging suit & about to enter the office, when I saw her. Though she's not one of my fave actresses, I've watched most of her films & have great respect for her!! Of course, I wasn't able to stop myself & called her name...this time, CORRECTLY!!! LOL!!! when she looked my way, I blurted that "I love all your projects & have watched all your movies!!!" She turned around, smiled & said "thanks'..oh, so nicely!!! of course, I wasn't able to take a picture with her...cuz again, her manager said, "NO!!"

Lee Jong Hot (Hyuk) as what we used to call him in Chuno-first knowing him through Green Rose with Lee Da Hae, I found him full of charisma and talented, one of actor who just can act just by using his eyes,....and very funny off screen-during Chuno wrap-up party, he called all his cos-stars that he killed in that drama- 'where are the 'dead', it was tiring to chase and kill you all'.

As sweet as gestures like these are, this would never fly here in the US. Especially hand-packed packages?! Hell to the no. Not in this day and age where kids are taught not to even eat candy from non-presealed packages on Halloween. I think American celebrities -- and their bodyguards and handlers -- would actually view these sorts of packages with extreme suspicion. It's interesting how close Korean stars and their fans are, especially considering how rabid Korean fans can get.

he's one of my fave K actors since crazy for you, & other projects....he's a cutie & charismatic too! woah that's sooooooooo generous of Kor. fans, i guess this isn't the first time we've heard about fans going out of their way to show their appreciation to their fave actors/actresses! I think there's also some uniqueness with Korean actors/actresses how they treat their fans that's why fans show this kind of gesture! imagine those personalized boxes? amazing!

@19 I enjoyed reading your experience bumping onto LJH, let me rephrased that, jealous is the word to describe it :))) When we went to KBS last April we're not as lucky as you've been....we were also told to obtain the tickets online to see some shows; we also went to Yoido around the KBS/MBC studios & needless to say no sightings of our fave Korean actors, we stayed around the area for hours to no avail! I guess you have to be there accdg to one of our Korean friends around the lunch hour & hang around a bit and chances are you'll have a glimpse of some of them! Once again, you're quite lucky & i envy you! :))))
