Park Min-young gets comfortable on the Sungkyunkwan set

With a month left before premiering, the crew of Sungkyunkwan Scandal has been moving into high gear, and lead actress Park Min-young has basically moved to the film set — she’s in standby mode practically 24 hours a day, ready to film. The above shot is the latest to come from the set, where Park has made herself at home.

Park said, “It’s not overstating things to say that these days I’m at the filming location 24 hours a day. Since it’s a project I really wanted to do, I’m very attached to it and I’m taking the approach that I have to work hard no matter what. Also, the location is pretty pretty rural so at the end of the day I would have to return to our lodgings, and it’s not like we can come back up to Seoul. So I’ll stay at the set and we’ll keep each other awake. I just think of this as my home and spend my time comfortably.”

What do you think, does she look any more of a boy in that photo than she did in any of the previous photos? At the moment I can’t quite see it, but I’m keeping my mind open; I wasn’t sure Moon Geun-young would be able to play a boy either, but she pulled it off admirably in Painter of the Wind. Not that Park Min-young is in Moon Geun-young’s league, acting-wise, but I’m being optimistic.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal also stars Micky Yoochun, Song Joong-ki, and Yoo Ah-in (and despite the bigger names of the other three, I think Yoo has a pretty good chance of running away with this drama, actually — but we shall see). It airs on KBS, premiering August 30.

It's a 4 episode drama, right? I wonder if they'll consider extending it if there is a good response. I think Park Min Young looks too feminine to pull off a convincing boy part, but that doesn't bother me. I thought Park Shin Hye was extremely feminine as well in YB, but it's still fun to watch.

She doesn't look like much of a boy in that pic, but I'm hoping she can pull it off. And I agree with your assessment of Yoo Ah In - that boy is charming enough to steal the show. <3

It's a 20 episode drama. (Although I believe they're leaving room open for it to be 24. Most likely 20 unless it's a runaway hit.)

I can't wait to watch this drama. Hoping 16 episode miniseries. More romantic comedy in historical age then it will be different, fresh eye and fun.

I think it's okay even if Park Min Young doesn't look that boyish. In the novel, her character is supposed to look feminine and cause suspicion among her peers.

Oh, okay. I must be confusing it with Running, which is a 4 episode drama.

I agree on your evaluation of Yoo Ah-In. praying this is his big break :)
I loved him in the Man Who Can't Get Married and I loved his boxer in Antique. He's adorable enough to give Song Joong-ki a run for his money in the adorable category.

I guess feminity is relative....afterall, Park is acting alongside Yoo Ah-In and Song Joong-Ki...so yeah, I dun think she'll look tt awkward dressing as a boy in this drama^^~
as for acting ability, Park is quite good, considering her relative newbie status in the entertainment circle....tho' I agree that she's not up to MGY's level yet....
but I think the casting is def. the strong point of this drama....cuz the story so far is not tt appealing to me.....

Yey, for Yoo AhIn!!!
He's the main reason why I am checking this drama. Well, Song Joongki is also enough eye candy.
