We’ve seen these cast members of Daemul in scenes from the drama, but here are four more character stills featuring the main four leads.
Go Hyun-jung, as you know by now, plays Korea’s first woman president, Seo Hye-rim, while Cha In-pyo portrays the politician with strong leadership abilities, Jang Tae-san.
Kwon Sang-woo is cast as the iron-willed Ha Do-ya, who overcomes hardship to become a passionate prosecutor. (Boo, no more gigolo Ha Ryu? Are they changing his character around to make more room for Cha? There’s been a lot less focus on Kwon lately, and I don’t think it’s just because of his brush with police; there was brief talk of Kwon quitting after the story broke, but the rumors were soon quashed.)
Last but not least, Lee Soo-kyung departs from her sunny, down-to-earth image to play a haughty careerwoman who got her MBA abroad, Jang Se-jin.
Daemul will take over the Wednesday-Thursday slot after My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho and premieres on October 6.

the gigolo thing kinda sold me on this one besides GHJ obv!! now it just sounds a lil plain? will still watch for GHJ…wish she’d do a rom com soon though to take a break from all the heavy hitting characters!

In SKKS, Dae Mul means big 8===D
Daemul loosely means “big shot” (or big fish, in the way that we might say “big kahuna” in English slang).
In Sungkyunkwan, there’s a moment where they make a pun on Yoon-hee having a big, er, fish to correspond to her nickname. But it doesn’t actually mean big wang.
OOH. WHOA. Lee Soo Kyung!! omg, I can’t wait to see her new role! I’m like 1000x more excited for this series now. I had NO idea she was gonna even be in this.

One of the things that pulled me in was the gigolo factor but now Kwon Sang Woo’s characters seems sorta plain. I’m wondering whether he is still the main lead or are the producers shifting the role to Cha In Pyo?
I hope the gigolo is still there cos that’s the only reason I planned to watch (and I was really looking forward to it).

Huh, looking at it I wonder if KSW’s character starts out as a gigolo, but becomes a prosecutor later? Even so, it’s too bad they’re switching it entirely since I also agree – lawyer KSW in this is rather plain compared to having a gigolo shake things up.

Well, yeah, after seeing the trailer, I also think the story would be more interesting with a gigalo thrown into the mix.
all i have to say is: if there is a shift to cha in pyo as lead, then I am all for it. No offense to ksw but cha in pyo is more talented in my opinion and so smexy for his age. mmmm. hahahaha
Wow…I didn’t recognize Lee Soo-kyung at ALL. That’s some serious character transformation. I loved her bright image in MCC; I wonder how she’ll do with this new character. =]

Go Hyun-jung and Cha In-pyo are my reasons for watching the show and I was under the impression that Cha In-pyo was the main male lead anyway?

i, too, am mainly watching for GHJ and CIP… i really really don’t mind if he’s the second lead. this pairing should be pretty phenomenal.

there’s no way the lead role is being switched from KSW to Cha In Pyo. Cha In Pyo is well known but does not command anywhere near the star power as KSW. The producers would never do that. Sure KSW has been controversial, but he still grabs an audience.
Okay…so watching Sungkyunkwan scandal…YoonShik’s nickname is DaeMul also….doesn’t i mean…big…you know guy part…so why is this drama called that?
I’m excited for everyone except Lee Soo Kyung, but I’m going to stay optimistic. Hated everything about SOULMATE, so I may be negatively biased towards her.
Love Lee Sookyung. I think she is an amazing actress. I only continued to watch this show because of her.
