It’s enlistment day for Kim Ji-hoon

Kim Ji-hoon (29) is off for the next two years to serve his country, and said his goodbyes to the press and public on October 4 at the Nonsan training facility. He will train there for five weeks, then begin 22 months of active duty.

Kim was recently the subject of a romantic “scandal” (which just means dating rumors; there’s no negative connotation to it) with his Joseon X-Files co-star, Im Jung-eun. While they’ve been a little coy about it, he did say on the 4th that he asked her particularly to come visit while he’s enlisted — but made sure to clarify with a laugh, “Since it’s not true, there’s no reason for us to avoid each other. Still, since it might cause misunderstandings, I told her to come with other friends.”

Kim Ji-hoon studied psychology at Ajou University, then debuted as an actor in the 2002 KBS drama Loving You. He followed that with roles in dramas Great Inheritance, Flowers For My Life, Golden Age of the Daughter-in-Law, Love & Marriage, Iron Empress, and Wish Upon a Star. His most recent role, Joseon X-Files, just wrapped filming a week ago (and is AWESOME).

it's only now that i've learned that he was in Loving You, even though I watched that a couple of times. Didn't recognized him there. thanks jb for the info.

you're not alone, after seeing him in stars falling i searched for his prev. projects & i was surprised to learn he was in LY altho i've seen the latter drama a while back & didn't even know him then of course, then again in Flowers for Life, i had to rewatch this one too after realizing he was in there but first time i saw Flowers i never knew it was him! I highly recommend How Much Love - this is the drama that should've put his name on the map! I hope JB will have the time to peek at this drama it's on tudou altho w/o Eng subs but just see his acting here & the story is really good matter of fact maybe better than Flowers or Love Marriage!! HML was also directed by same from Shining Inheritance.

@9.1.1. go to tudou dot com altho it's not subed in Eng but it's really worth your while believe me. If i can reiterate here, this drama should have put Kim ji hoon's name on the entertainment map if you will...it's a good poignant love story, family drama & all that. His acting was really convincing & i liked the chem betwn him & Jo yeo jung! I hope it works for you. I just finished watching over the w/end I got completely hooked! :) He made me cry with him & her....i'm actually getting ready to re watch this drama again. Highly recommended, 2 thumbs up for him & the story etc.

@ deannadsc ...i too hv been searching for this drama as well as Love Hymn which i still can't find...however, if you go to tudou dot com altho as i said earlier not subbed, but like singletear said previously, just to look at him & see his acting there you'll be able to relate to the story somehow! I really enjoyed it & didn't mind at all if it's lengthy, no way would I get tired seeing his beautiful smile & his acting in this drama was so convincing, as i said, this drama should've recognized him as a good actor after its release in 2006. The sad part is it's not highly promoted like Love Marriage, Flowers, Why Did You Come not to mention Stars Falling from the Sky. I don't u/stand why it seems underrated or under promoted perhaps?

i agree with you, the one i didn't recognize when his hair was chopped was Kim nam gil among the others:)
yeah he's still hot, just look at those eyes & lips, even if they shaved his head completely he's still handsome need i say more? :)) i'll miss him terribly!

p.s. i wished the rumor was with his co stars like Choi jung won of Stars or Jo yeo jung of How Much Love...i don't know much about his co star in Joseon x files. Since it's not true, i guess we don't have to worry about it! I wished i could visit him when he's enlisted. i plan to be in korea nxt year so any idea JB if outsiders or fans are allowed to visit him? :)

i kept checking here last night for this article JB to see his enlistment photo & voila it's an eye opener for me this morning! i wished he didn't have to leave us! He's still hot even w/o his thick hair!
