Playful Kiss: Episode 10

Looks like JB’s got some competition in the curly-bedhead-making department! Much of the usual upbeat tone is tamped down in this episode, due to a big misunderstanding that, well, nobody but Ha-ni believes. But I’ll let that plot point go, since it’s nice to have some emotional changes, as Ha-ni struggles to let Seung-jo go, her friends step up to defend her, and Seung-jo struggles to feel feelings.

EPISODE 10 RECAP

True to his word, Seung-jo packs up right away and leaves. Ha-ni just watches tearfully, unable to say anything, and Seung-jo gives her one silent lingering look as he walks out. She bemoans the fact that school is now their only connection, and she’s sure that Seung-jo will soon forget all about her. Oh, Ha-ni.

She sees him pass by on campus, but she’s so deflated that she doesn’t even want to try talking to him. She’s back to being scared, thinking that he wants nothing to do with her. Her friends sigh that she’s returned to her high school situation, back to square one with Seung-jo.

Ha-ni continues to zombie out at school and tennis practice, until Kyung-soo offers up a trade: if she buys dinner, he’ll take her to the place where Seung-jo works. She smiles for the first time in a week.

They arrive at the restaurant where Kyung-soo works on weekends, since that’s also where he got Seung-jo a job as a server. Ha-ni meanders about what to order, as Seung-jo appears at the table. He stays strictly formal with her, just doing his job, but the interaction is enough to bring Ha-ni to tears, because it’s been so long since they’ve spoken.

She finally stops him to say hi, and asks if he’s mad that she came. He just nonchalantly says that he expected her to show at some point (smug bastard), and tells her to keep her mouth shut about it at home. Why? What do you want your parents to think you’re doing to pay the rent, standing on a street corner?

While eating, Ha-ni sees a job posting in the restaurant, so she runs over to get a part-time job, only to find that the last position has just been filled—by He-ra of course. She rubs Ha-ni’s nose in it, in her haughty way, making me want to push her face through a row of chocolate pies.

She asks Seung-jo if she can come by again the next day, which he brushes off as unwelcome. He doesn’t say no, but he does remind her not to say anything about it at home. So of course, she goes straight home and blurts everything to Mom. Haha. You are so incapable of keeping secrets. Mom can’t wait to sneak a peak, and plans to stalk him at work tomorrow. Ha-ni realizes her screw up a minute too late (I know you’re not bright, but really, Ha-ni?) and frets over Seung-jo’s imminent anger.

Sure enough, they show up in disguises, thinking that they’re pretty slick. So, you think your genius son can’t tell who you are, because you’re wearing a hat and sunglasses? Silly, silly family. Seung-jo doesn’t even go through the motions of being upset, since this is pretty much par for the course with Ha-ni and Mom.

He-ra shows up at the table to say hi, throwing Mom into a tizzy, “What are YOU doing here?” Hahaha. I love how she never hides her disdain for Ha-ni’s competition. She even coaches Ha-ni to not let He-ra get anywhere with Seung-jo. She tells her to screw pride and just stick to Seung-jo like glue, and make sure she sees him every day. Peas in a stalker pod, these two.

Her friends tell her the same thing, and she wonders if Seung-jo will hate it if she’s there every day. But they remind her that following him around is exactly her style, so she decides to go for it, pride be damned.

She shows up again the next day, studying at the table so as not to completely waste her time. Seung-jo just acts unsurprised and put out, but doesn’t tell her to leave either. He-ra shows up at the table to take her order in a thinly veiled passive-aggressive maneuver (the kind that seriously raises my ire).

When Ha-ni says she’ll have anything, He-ra sends over a ridiculous amount of food. She continues serving her in that fake-nice tone, as Ha-ni camps out until Seung-jo is done. He-ra calls her out on her doggedly obtuse method of chasing Seung-jo around, wondering aloud what sort of guy would like a girl like that. Just you wait and see, Miss High Horse.

Ha-ni gets kicked out at closing time, and barely scrapes together enough cash to pay for the crazy expensive dish that He-ra ordered for her. Evil wench. She waits outside for Seung-jo, but then hides when she sees him leave with He-ra.

She follows behind them, reassuring herself that they must be coincidentally heading in the same direction. But she follows them all the way to an apartment building, where they enter and get in the elevator together. Ha-ni crumples to the ground as she assumes the worst—that Seung-jo left home to live with He-ra.

She cries alone in her room that night, imagining Seung-jo and He-ra in bed together, and wondering if his declaration that he doesn’t dislike her meant anything. She heads to school the next morning, only a shell of the vibrant girl she used to be, worrying the family.

She purposely dodges classes that she shares with Seung-jo and He-ra, and tells her friends that it’s really the end this time. It’s so heartbreaking to watch her be so defeated. Seung-jo isn’t exactly a man of action when it comes to stuff like this, but he does look around for her everywhere he goes, wondering why she’s stopped orbiting him.

Min-ah and Ju-ri can’t stand to see Ha-ni so depressed either, and finally decide to do something about it. They track Seung-jo down on campus, and he greets them with, “Who are you?” They can’t believe his 200-IQ brain can’t remember them, and he counters with, “I erase data that becomes irrelevant.” You really ARE a robot. Gah.

Ju-ri can’t understand why Ha-ni likes this guy. They rail into him for moving in with He-ra without ending things first with Ha-ni. He’s of course surprised to hear that’s he’s living with He-ra, and answers that he’ll be straight with Ha-ni then. The girls tell him to be gentle with her, but to let her down firmly. Min-ah tells him that they’re not asking him to stop liking He-ra; they want him to do the right thing by their friend, who’s loved him unrequited, for four years.

They leave, and Seung-jo’s face? It breaks into a smile. Aw, you LOVE hearing how much she loves you, don’t you, you little punk!?

Ha-ni continues this way for two weeks, eating next to nothing and feeling a mess. She realizes that without her trying so hard to see Seung-jo, they don’t actually cross paths at all—hence, it was all one-sided.

But lo and behold, Seung-jo appears next to her at school, and when she gets up to run away, he asks her to wait with him. He plays it cool, saying that they haven’t seen much of each other. He purposely baits her, saying that he spends most of his time with “YOON. HE. RA.” You are totally trying to goad her, pigtail-pulling little boy!

But they get interrupted by a girl, a high school student who comes up, asking if this is Oh Ha-ni. It turns out that she’s being tutored three nights a week by Seung-jo and He-ra, and goes to their old high school, where Ha-ni is a legend for her 50th place record. She greets Ha-ni warmly, saying that He-ra and Seung-jo talk about her all the time, and that she wants to go to school here next year.

Ha-ni realizes that this is where she saw them go the other night, and blurts out, “you’re not living together?” Seung-jo acts surprised, even though he totally orchestrated this whole meeting, just to prove to Ha-ni that he ISN’T living with He-ra, but Ha-ni doesn’t know that, and just squees silently in delight.

My god, Baek Seung-jo…you are such a weird little robot boy, but it’s adorable the way you want to make it so that she keeps loving you. The only objection I have is that you’re doing all this to keep from having to admit your own feelings, but I will concede that you may not have the proper data for your robot heart.

Ha-ni gets back to her old self, making chocolates for Seung-jo, to the utter delight of Mom. She fantasizes giving him a perfectly wrapped box of chocolates, and in return, he gives her…a diamond ring the size of Kansas? Hahaha. Even in a fantasy, you must’ve laced those suckers with love potion or something.

She heads out that night with her chocolates, but it starts pouring rain, and to top it off, her taxi breaks down on her way to Seung-jo. She shows up at the restaurant sopping wet and trembling.

He-ra comes over to her table, telling her it’s useless to wait for Seung-jo tonight because they have a tutoring session again. She brings her a cup of coffee with a side of sass. I would check for arsenic before drinking.

Sure enough, Ha-ni takes one sip and faints. See! Okay, fine, it’s just probably your two weeks of non-eating combined with getting rained on in your condition, but you should consider checking He-ra’s purse for untraceable poisons.

Seung-jo’s boss lets him off early to take Ha-ni home, making He-ra give Ha-ni the evil eye, but acknowledge her unparalleled steadfastness. Begrudgingly.

They head outside and can’t manage to get a cab, so Seung-jo suggests walking to his apartment and then calling Mom for a ride from there. Ha-ni is of course thrilled to be invited over, no matter the circumstance.

Aw, how cute are these two?

They head to his studio apartment, where Ha-ni confirms that she’s his first visitor and Seung-jo calls Mom to come pick her up. But Mom tells him that she doesn’t feel like it, and promptly hangs up on him. HAHAHA. Love Mom!

Seung-jo gapes at his phone in disbelief and goes to shower. Ha-ni freaks out about being in a situation straight out of a romance novel, and wonders how to act. She thinks to herself, gulping, “But…this place only has one room…and only one bed!”

Seung-jo comes out, putting her on edge, and he asks knowingly if she’s nervous. He gives her a change of clothes and she washes up.

Meanwhile, Mom calls Duckie and asks him to relay a message to Ha-ni’s Dad: that she’ll be spending the night at Seung-jo’s place, and not to worry. Duckie goes into Defcon 1, asking where Seung-jo lives, but Mom doesn’t know, and wouldn’t tell him anyway (Ha), so upon hearing vague references to where Seung-jo works, he runs out to track them down.

He eventually shows up at Seung-jo’s restaurant, rain-weary and freaked out, and then passes out.

Ha-ni sits uneasily, as Seung-jo finishes reading and then goes to bed. She timidly says that she’ll just sleep on the floor then, which he agrees to wholeheartedly, telling her to grab one of his jackets, as he only has one spare blanket.

That’s enough to break the spell, as Ha-ni’s spunk returns. She says that most men would insist she take the bed, but he answers coldly that he’s not in the mood to say those words to her. Ha-ni: “You’re not even a human being!” Yeah, that’d be because he’s a robot.

Cue Ha-ni in bed, and Seung-jo on the floor. Heh. She asks if she can turn the light on—she’s afraid of ghosts. He says he can’t sleep with the light on, but then he turns it on anyway. Aw. Next, she wonders if he isn’t cold. She offers to switch places with him, annoying him to the point that he just gets into bed with her, announcing that they’ll just sleep like this, so that she’ll shut up about it. Well, it’s true that this is what she wanted, but don’t pretend that it’s not what you’re angling for either. You just get to use her as an excuse.

But once they’re in the same bed, they can’t go to sleep, and Ha-ni starts nervously gulping again, which he notices. He supposes that she has a valid reason to be nervous, since anything could happen—a kiss, or something more…

He springs up and Ha-ni does too, lingering for a moment…and then he lies back down, deflating her excitement. He turns his back to her, saying that he’s not going to do anything, so she shouldn’t raise her expectations. Aw, man. What about MY expectations? Gah.

Ha-ni frets that maybe he doesn’t think of her as a woman, but he reads her mind, and assures her that it’s nothing to do with her. He just doesn’t want to fall in line with Mom’s plan for his life, strapping him down to her pre-ordained path for him. Well, I see that in theory, but I don’t really see how your desire to not be Mom’s toy solider is trumping your libido here, college boy. I’m not even sure it makes any sense or is necessary, since they could’ve just sweetly spent the night together and not had sex. That’s not unheard of. There doesn’t need to be a reason involving Mom.

Ha-ni smiles as that comforts her, reminding her that he doesn’t hate her, and she can’t manage to fall asleep from the pitter patter of her heart. It turns out that Seung-jo is wide awake too, smiling to himself. They lie awake like that, adorably nervous and content, and trying not to let it show.

COMMENTS

It’s always two steps forward, one step back with these two. But what makes it enjoyable is that it stays true to real life. Ha-ni is so swept up in her emotions that it informs everything she does, probably to the detriment of her college career, but what girl hasn’t been there, done that? What infuriates me about Seung-jo is that one minute, he’s a robot, and then the next minute, he’s playing her hot and cold like a seasoned veteran. But that’s realistic too, because, well, boys are stinky like that. Pull a girl’s braids, call her names, kiss her, then pretend you don’t know her. It’s the same cycle, from kindergarten to adulthood, with slight variations to account for liquor, and the bad judgments that ensue forthwith.

Hats off to Jung So-min in this episode, who plays everything from severe depression to utter bliss in the course of an hour. She makes Ha-ni’s lovelorn conflicts so palpable that I can’t help but be carried along by her roller coaster ride in trying to figure out how to love Robot Boy. Somebody, please…give this girl a hug.

Yay! It's Tuesday morning here in Korea! Only one more day...ok, technically 2, but who's counting...I guess I am...haha!

Anyways, I totally love this drama...it's so sweet and sometimes frustrating, but overall, I love the characters and the actors' portrayals. JSM & KHJ have great chemistry and their characters definitely complement each other.

I do agree with the others that PK doesn't appeal as much to Korean audiences as most of them need or are looking for that angst, tension, & "drama" in their drama. However, PK's already sold their rights to many countries, so I don't think the cast and crew should be too bummed about the ratings and look at all the rabid fans watching online! Can't wait to see the morning after scene! :)

I totally agree with you that if they will include the fans watching outside Korea, the ratings will sky rocket. Alas, we are not included though.

i have read all of the other diary entries and it gets increasingly corny/sweet/cute, depending on how you view it... i thought ep 8-9 was the max and then ep 10 diary came out and it topped that... haha.
I don't know who is writing all those seunjo's thoughts but it doesn't seem like a guy to me...XD it's so corny and sugary (and I DON'T CARE) although in its defense, it sounds less so in korean in my opinion.
anyways, good to know seungjo is starting to consciously care about hani, although I still think he doesn't know that it's love yet... he probably thinks it's something more like a friend-puppy caring... something you're fond of.

I'm from tunisia :)
Tunisia , algeria and morrocco have fench as a second language after arabic becoz we were colonized by france ( tunisia was a french colony from 1881 till 1956 where we got our independance , sorry for this history lesson but I love giving infos about my beatiful country :) ) but Egypt has english as second language after arabic becoz it was colonized by England .

I tell you the truth I was never inetrrested by korean or chinese or japaneese languages , was prefering to learn hundu ( even though I never did ) but since I started watching korean drama , I really regret I've never tried to learn this language and the sad part is now I can't do it since I spend the day working and at the end of the day I feel tired :(

lol.. the history lesson is welcomed! ive got a bunch of tunisian friends in france. i've never been to tunisia but we had to learn about it in school since it's part of france's history as well.
hindu is really hard... i admire you for even thinking about it. i guess, arabic is really hard as well.... i still don't understand how the writing works although my friends tried to explain to me.. haha.
for me, i was always interested in languages so i learned a bunch at school... and some at home, like the asian languages... including korean... altho my priority was chinese and japanese at first, now i'm concentrating a bit more on korean. my first language is french though, and my langue maternelle is vietnamese.. the problem with learning so many languages is that i don't know any of them well... it's quite sad and discouraging.

do you still live in france or did u move on to vietnam ?
I have some relatives living in france , if u still there will surely meet you if I visit france once again ( I didn't since 2003 ) .
concerning languages , i'm also found of learning them but never found time for that and as I told you never was interrested in asian language ( except hindu ) .
arabic language is the hardest and the easiest language to learn.
I always loved english , it's really the best language I ever learned but always hated french with its grammaire et conjugaison ( it's horrible LOL , never loved it )

lol. i'm seriously addicted... even in my class, my laptop window is set on DB... i thought i would bring it to type in my notes. haha.. i should stop. for the next class, i'm NOT bringing my laptop anymore with me. ill have to contend with hand written notes if i want to STUDY. sigh.
no, im not in france anymore. i left when i was 16. and ive never been to vn ever until i was 14, and that was only for vacation. im in the US right now...
for me, the hardest language would be chinese because of the characters and tones. the only reason i'm learning it is because it's my number one priority in terms of language. i'm a die-hard fan of wuxia author jin yong. but i agree, even for me, a native speaker, french grammar is a real headache. it's SO complicated we could get a lifetime study out of it. so is spanish grammar but it can't beat latin and ancient greek. i took those in middle school and let's say... dead languages are meant to be dead. that wasn't exactly the most pleasant class i've had. i heard german's grammar is similar to latin grammar. i am NOT taking german ever.

I was thinking the same thing.. the one who's writing this diary must be a woman.. LOL. I doubt Seung Jo thinks about Hani in those terms. Most likely he can't articulate it.. and I don't understand why he can't be an S (sadomasochistic) and still be sexy and desirable to all of us.. :P

if you can't read korean though, then only entry 1-3 and 10 are translated as of right now and you can find the links in the comments of this post.
IF i have the time, i might translate a few BUT right now, im swamped with school work so that's not likely plus im not exactly fluent in korean so i'm sure there's more capable PKers who'll do that later on.

lol. it's been a while ive seen french... i went to egypt once but they didn't speak french there... they spoke english. which north african country are you from? i was born in paris ^^.
i'm not surprised that BSJ is thinking that way... if you watch the episode, then his thoughts really fits in with the way he acted... what i'm surprised about is that he would write those thoughts... if i was to write down each of my thoughts, a whole lot of them would be mushy was well BUT i would never write them down...

oh... i wanted to add.. it's too bad you can't read korean but it sounds much more like BSJ in korean than the translation... meaning, much less cheesy. at least, that's the impression i got from the little korean i can read. it's hard to convey that in english i guess.

seems a written preview of epi 11 is out , saying ,BSJ had a bad sleeping night bcoz of OHN's bad sleeping .OHN woke up happy and they went to college where rumours of them sleeping together are out .
and a new sunbae will come as a tennis trainer and will ask OHN to go out with him

i agree with you... the diary is quite out of character... i think it would be more believable if it was something like his thoughts that someone managed to read (edward the almighty perhaps? XD) and transcribe down, rather than a diary... well, that's not possible so i guess we're stuck with the diary option.
however, it's awfully useful to understand what goes on in that little (big?) elementary school genius kid of his. like how it explained about his crossdressing trauma.
plus, the cute is quite a bonus.

I completely agree. I thought the first 2 entries were cute, re-affirming what we already know of his 10 year-old E.Q. but it got progressively cheesy and romance novel-ish that there was no way in hell a guy, especially someone like Seung-jo, would think, much less write something like that.

And besides, why would a robot leave a paper trail when he has a photographic memory and can store infinite amount of data in his robot brain? ;)

So yeah, no more reading diary entries for me. Its good in theory but its just so out of character. I'd rather stick to my own interpretation. Guessing what's behind that enigmatic head of his is so much more interesting anyway.

why do i love watching this show so much? it's because of how the show reminds me of "once upon a time", when i was younger, and anything related to a crush meant everything to my world then. It seemed to familiar yet so distant i barely recall now.

ok, i'll tell you.

SPOILER ep 11

it's from memory so i might have skipped a few details

and, if you've read the manga, you know what i'm talking about when i say... scavenger hunt=OMG, GOOD NEWS!!! squee squee squee
anyways, now that i got that out of the way..

short preview: the sunbae (shin's friend in goong) is fighting with joongu in the library over hani. seungjo comes and stops them by saying that hani doesn't like them anyways. he keeps it relaxed but you can see the guy doesn't seem thrilled either. hehe. and, he uses an excuse to take hani away, quite forcibly i might add. don't want her too close to her admirer? she has to stay around your orbit at all times? haha. you've got it bad boy. next is seunjo at camp, or a resort. he works there and is taking pictures for some kids when eunjo and hani arrive. seungjo doesn't look too pleased to see hani but is kind to eunjo who goes straight to him adoringly. (and i go aw). then tennis sunbae shows up and of course, haera shows up as well.. hani is NOT happy.

long preview: um, this i remember considerably less so bear with me.
back to the libary. hani is observing seungjo and the goong sunbae shows up and knows she is looking at seungjo. he takes her between shelves and is about to kiss her. hani doesn't push him away but turns her head and says she doesn't want to. joongu appears and they start exchanging punches. seungjo comes and fight stops etc. hani remarks that seungjo is absent from his appartment with bunch of mail. then cue to seungjo at resort/camp where he works there. the band and company shows up.. sunbae reassures hani by saying that he plans to pair hani with seungjo and haera with himself during the scavenger hunt. turns out, seungjo is not coming and haera is thoroughly pissed. hani is paired with eunjo instead. they get lost in the woods, and hani slips down a slop. she's not hurt but she's stuck. eunjo calles her idiot but still looks more worried than angry (im really starting to love the kid) and tells hani to stay put while he goes for help. oh, and joongu looks like he's in the woods as well.
and i think that's about it.

when haera came to the tennis sunbae (think he's name is kyung soo or byung soo or smth.. it never sticks to my head) family inn (where seungjo works), she pushed hani aside... i wasn't happy. -_-
and she was the only one who wore shorts when everybody else wore winter/fall wear.

Hi guys English is my first language and Korean is my second. So I was reading the diary entries and found that baek seung jo’s were harder to translate haha. Maybe its because eunjo is a grade school, but his entries were pretty easy to read. I thought his perspective on things were hilarious and wanted to be able to share it with those who couldn’t read Korean. Enjoy enjoy enjoy =)

p.s. please ignore the grammatical errors. Its 3 am and I did this because I couldn’t fall asleep =) feeling a bit loopy.

Eunjo’s Diary entry 9/28/2010

Today mom was very annoying. She kept saying that we had to leave the house for an urgent matter. She called dad and we met at SoPalBok noodle house (OHN’s dads shop) and ate. She dragged me out of the house saying there was a big prolem….but it was just to eat food? Very annoying.

I’m really sleepy but my mom wanted to go to the karaoke. At the karaoke the adults only sang songs they knew so it wasn’t fun for me at all. I wonder what on earth my mom is up to?

Weird. We come home and its quiet. Talkative dummy oh hani isn’t here and big bro isn’t here either. Hmm? But suddenly dummy oh hani comes running out of our room. Her face is red… suspicious.

I go into the room and big bro is giggling to himself with the lights off. I ask him why is oh hani like that? He answers, “I’m not sure I wonder why.” and continues to look and his English book and laugh. Is English really that fun? Now that I take a look at him again, big bro’s face seems a bit red too.

I lay down trying to sleep but big bro continues to laugh to himself. Its so noisy I want to die. Today big bro, mommy, and dummy oh hani are all weird.

Today as soon as big bro heard oh hani’s computer broke he jumped up and ran to her room. Dummy Oh hani is crying and throwing a fit because her application may have gotten erased. My genius brother fixed it. But my big bro is weird. Since he was reading his favorite book, he wouldn’t even turn around to look at me when I tried talking to him, but when he heard dummy oh ha ni crying he jumped up and ran to help her. after he fixed the computer he should have left the room. Why is he just sitting in her room still? My big bro is suspicious.

Uneasiness…for some reason I feel uneasy…
lately big bro secretly laughs for no reason. Its cold but he keeps the window open. I tell him its cold, but he pretends to not hear me. He is so deep in thought and keeps laughing to himself while staring at the fork and card dummy oh hani gave him. The card says The card only has 8 words, if it were me I could read it quickly. Big bro keeps looking at it and looking at it and continues to giggle. He then finished his porridge and carefully placed the stuff in his drawer.
Uneasiness.
My continuously giggling big bro makes me uneasy.
The continuously intruding oh hani makes me uneasy.

Today big bro keeps bathing. Previously I saw him wash his face but hes washing his face again. His friend called him but big bro told him that he was busy today. Mom wanted to go to the mall, so i followed. Then my mom called big bro and said that she is at the theatre and she got stood up and asked if he could come quickly. Huh? Previously big bro said he was busy… Weird? He said he would go. My mom says she would be a good actress.

But I knew.
Why big bro kept washing his face. Why he told his friend he was busy today. Mom thinks she knows everything about big bro, but it seems as though she doesn’t know everything. Could it really be that big bro went to the theatre because of moms good acting?
I feel bad for my mom who doesn’t know anything.

I saw a very pretty girl at school. I didn’t know she existed till now. One day she just appeared in front of my eyes.

I was just staring at her during P.E. and got caught by dummy oh ha ni.

I don’t know what oh ha ni said to sara, but she was able to convince her to come over. I was so happy.

I showed sara my geometric toys, but she said they were boring and wanted to go home. I didn’t know what to do.

What do girls like?

Big bro came and played with us. Sara seemed to be having fun too and wanted to leave after eating dinner.

“ Oppa (big bro for girls), do you believe in love at first sight?” Sara asked my brother.

I was so happy. For sure I believed Sara fell in love with me at first sight. But…

“ will you wait just 7 years for me?”

It was my big bro that sara fell in love with at first sight. For the first time in my life I disliked my big bro.

I was always very proud of my handsome and smart brother but today I thought it would be nice if he was uglier then me.

Now I understood what adults meant when they say, “ don’t drink kimchhi stew.” No doubt in my mind kimchi stew will be very yucky ( I’m so sorry. I translated this word for word and I have no idea what he is talking about- Jiners)

“ Our eunjo is so handsome/cool~!” says my mom.
No matter how much she says that it wont work. Chi! I must be handsome/cool in her eyes because shes my mom. Sara has to be the one to say im handsome/cool for it to be real.

Sara only likes my brother. I’m really feeling down.

Even I’m JJang (the best) in school too. Why doesn’t sara like me?

I don’t ever want to see oh ha ni. I didn’t even ask her to do it but why did she have to bring Sara to our house and let her see big bro. Nosy dummy oh ha ni!!!

“ Eunjo, I think two people simultaneously liking each other is a miracle. Will that miracle ever occur for me too?”
Oh Ha ni is sincerely talking to me. Today she seems a bit like a normal person.

Because of my brother does oh ha ni’s heart hurt too?

Since I’m sincerely talking like this with oh hani. It seems as though I’ve grown a bit more (matured) tonight. As if I got taller after going through so much heartache.

Dummy oh ha ni left our house. Its so nice because its quiet. Sometimes it’s a bit lonesome because there is nobody to make fun of. It seems as if big bro feels the same way. Lately he plays with a weird cheap doll.

My mom has her hair wrapped up and just lays down everyday. She doesn’t clean or make food. Dad split the chores equally but I told big bro to do it all. I wanted to help him with the cleaning but I’m still slightly dislike him.

My tummy hurt really really bad I almost died. While mom and dad were gone I ate lots of pizza, drank lots of coke and played video games all day. I must have been getting punished. Luckily dummy oh ha ni came running inside and helped me.

After surgery it hurt a lot, but I met a new friend Nori so I was happy. Nori and I studied with big bro and had a birthday party too. Dummy oh ha hi comes everyday so its annoying. She tries to teach Nori even though she knows less than me. They put us in wheelchairs and while running through the hallways of the hospital the big sister nurse scolded us. Mae-Rong! ( what you say when Koreans stick their tongue out at people. Like seung jo did to hani after the kiss)

But it seems as though big bro has a lot of time on his hands too because he comes to the hospital everyday. Do college students not study?

Oh ha ni came back into out house. I got my room taken away again, but I can let that go. After all she is my life savior.

I lightly snuck towards oh hani and quickly said, “ I’ve troubled you a lot with this incident. Thank you.”

After oh ha ni came back big bro laughs to himself with excitement all day. But again for a couple days he doesn’t talk to anyone and is in deep thought all day. Whatever I ask him he doesn’t reply. What can the problem be?

My brother is leaving the house to live on his own. If it were me I would stay home because its much more comfortable. Big bro wants to go out into the world and try surviving on his own.

The day he left I stood at the door entrance to say goodbye.

“Eunjo, I’m going.” He says.

Its so sad I hand on to him and cry. Even though I’m hanging on to him big bro is not looking at me. Instead hes only looking at dummy oh ha ni. My big bro is weird. He doesn’t even say goodbye to oh ha ni. All he does is stare at her. Its really weird.

Last night I could hear oh ha ni crying in her room. I wanted to tell her to be quiet, but she was crying so sadly I just let it go.

It must be because of my brother. Since shes crying because of one of my family members I let it go. But why does my brother continue to make oh ha ni cry?

Does oh ha ni cry because my brother keeps teasing her? A couple days ago before he left the house he teased her a lot too. Truthfully I was the one who first discovered oh ha ni’s panties.
“Oh dummy oh ha ni,” I thought. If I went to give it to her I felt bad she might get embarrassed so I pretended like I didn’t see it and went into the room. But the weird thing is my grown up adult brother grabbed those panties with his hands and I could hear him teasing oh ha ni.

“did your growth stop in elementary school?” he teased

“ when I see you I keep wanting to make it harder for you~!” he said.

Why would my brother do something that even I an elementary school student wouldn’t do.
Why does he keep making oh ha ni cry.

im seriously a stalker where PK is concerned, i will get worried about my mental health if this goes any further... although i need this... i'm so swamped with school work i need some place to relax and lighten my mood.
anyways, i think that's the last of me for today. or at least of continuous posting... i've got class next. which is a good thing in a way because it keeps me busy from obsessing about PK. otherwise, it's on my mind almost 24hr/7, even when i watch other dramas. i found myself giggling like crazy on my bed this morning, half choking myself, just imagining about what would happen at the scavenger hunt.

I saw the pix of the next morning , he found the chocklate box yaaaaaaay wonder what will he think and what was written in the little peace of paper .
OHN seems so dreamy and blessed so shweet , eventhough I will never be this way in love with a guy but I love her way of loving BSJ , it melts my heart especially when I think that its her love who changed his life and that he will love her at the end of the day .

at school, hani got confessed by the sunbae and went on a date with him to make seungjo jealous.. but she enjoyed the date
also. seungjo loved the chocolates
and in the morning, seungjo already woke up before hani.
and he couldn't sleep because of hani... she had her leg on him... hehe
ok... sorry.. i know i'm going backward but that's just because ive' just seen the ep... and as;dfaf;jad;slfj.
KYA. the kiss. warning... it was very very quick though.

Everytime I watch this it's a rollercoaster of emotion as u say. and thanks to Jung So Min for emoting so well, and making herself so adorable and easy to relate too....

The bed scene speaks a lot in terms of their relationship.

i've been feeling terribly lonely to be the only one among my kdrama-watching friends to really really feel the need to continue watching this show. yes it's true that the pace is slow, and nothing much happens, but isn't everything so real-life here??

cross-dressing scholars make exciting shows to watch and all that... but i get serious kicks relating to what girlfriday called the "vignettes of everyday life" that we find in playful kiss. how long have we watched a scene in a kdrama that feels so familiar?

good to know that there are people who appreciate this side of the drama. thanks guys!! i feel lonely no more!!

Just as watching Ha-ni be her bright, bubbly self makes me incredibly happy...watching her so forlorn and depressed, thinking that SJ and HR are living together, made me die a little inside. It was so heartbreaking, esp. when WE know that that is not the truth, so I was kinda mad at the show for dragging it out and letting our Ha-ni struggle like that, imagining the fake kiss and all. But major kudos to her friends for tracking that smug jerk down and calling him out.

ARRGGH, Baek Seung-jo!! I wanted to smack him upside that little wavy head! He's so passive and aloof about Ha-ni's feelings - playing her hot and cold like you said, GF - I just want him to stop taking her for granted now! I can't stand to see her on this emotional roller coaster anymore; cause no matter how much she vows to end her crush (4 years now? dang), she always slips back into it and follows him around like a puppy again, while he remains cold and superior. I'm kinda mad at Ha-ni for still behaving like a 15 year old around him - basically giving up her self-respect and pride to this jerk (I mean, is her college tuition basically a stalking budget??) However, I am more mad at the Ice Prince for toying with her like this.

I think I was the only one that took his bed-declaration seriously....? My eyes widened while Ha-ni just swooned over the fact that it's got nothing to do with her. But it kinda does, right? Up to this point, I looooved Mom. She's super cool and whip smart when it comes to her children (omg, those restaurant disguises were the BEST - esp. little Eun-jo's glasses and trench), but pushy as hell too! So when SJ confessed that he's restraining himself because he doesn't want to give in to Mom's plan for him...um, shouldn't Ha-ni take notice and fix this?!?! She and Mom have joined forces from Day 1 and of course, SJ is put off by this because, as we all know: the last thing kids want to do is what their parents force them to. So I was kinda irked that Ha-ni didn't run straight to Mom (ok, the next day) and tell her to cool it a bit!

Gaah! While this show is not exactly top-notch, it still has ME on an emotional roller coaster here, haha.
