Heaven gets renamed Sign, sets premiere date

As previously mentioned, Kim Ah-joong (Accidental Couple, above) and Park Shin-yang (Painter of the Wind) will soon be returning to broadcast airwaves with their new drama, initially titled Heaven, which has now been renamed Sign and given a slot on SBS’s upcoming TV schedule.

The medical investigation drama takes a page out of the C.S.I. handbook in following the work of two forensic doctors: he’s the famous perfectionist boss, she’s the rookie subordinate. Of course. So what else is new? Together they’ll perform autopsies and solve murder cases; the drama also looks into the power struggles and rivalries that exist within their organization. (Or, to put it simply: office drama!)

In addition, the cast features Eom Ji-won (The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry) who runs interference in the leads’ inevitable romance as Park’s district attorney ex-girlfriend, an ambitious modern careerwoman. Jeon Gwang-ryul, who recently enjoyed much success playing Tak-gu’s dad in Baker King Kim Tak-gu, plays the director of the National Scientific, Criminal & Investigation Laboratory where our leads work. Then there’s comedian Moon Chun-shik (Great King Sejong, Hwang Jini), who recently drew quite a bit of attention for losing 11 kg and reinventing himself as a “momjjang,” aka hard-bodied possessor of the elusive choco abs. His character works at the lab with the leads.

The director is Jang Hang-joon, who has mostly directed films. This is another collaboration with his wife, writer Kim Eun-hee, having worked together on the well-received recent cable drama Harvest Villa. However, they were both writers on that; they haven’t worked before in a writer-director relationship.

Sign will be SBS’s first Wednesday-Thursday drama of the new year, and will follow current ratings leader Daemul. Filming is scheduled to begin this month, and the first episode airs January 5, 2011.

I'm not taking him home ( I love eye candies.... ok I'm too shallow :D

The only reason why I'm most probably going to give this a chance is because I loooved Harvest Villa (well, at least episodes 1-19, don't want to talk about the ending ¬¬), so I'm eager to see what they'll come up with this time ^^

To be fair, though, Kim Eun Hee also co-wrote My Fair Lady, so I guess I'm enthusiastic but wary :P

I hope this show is more endearing than harvest villa. and will have a nice ending...

would have been more fun, i think, to have park shin yang as the newbie (late entry into the profession, maybe) and kim ah joong as his ambitious girlfriend and eom ji won as the doctor boss to park.
