Jung Kyeo-woon joins the cast of Sign

As his current role as a lovable lunkhead judo player in Dr. Champ winds to a close, Jung Kyeo-woon is busy lining up his next gig, and has joined the new SBS drama Sign, which co-stars Park Shin-yang and Kim Ah-joong.
While the other two leads are forensic doctors in this C.S.I.-like medical investigation drama, Jung plays a reckless punk of a cop (I can see it) who’s assigned to the violent crime division.
Jung said in a recent interview, “As soon as I finish Dr. Champ, I’m going to begin my next project without taking a break. I really like the character I’m playing, so I couldn’t pass it by.” He added that while he shares some personality traits with his bright Ji-heon character of Champ, this new role is a completely different type, and he’s looking forward to making the transformation.
Dr. Champ wraps filming next week, at which point Jung will join the Sign production straightaway. Sign will premiere in the first week of January following Daemul, and follows the coroners and forensic analysts who investigate murders.
I know actors don’t like being typecast, but I kinda wish Jung were playing someone more like his current character, because I never really cared for him until Champ came along and he won me over with his goofy, persistent charm. (While we’re talking about wish lists, I also wish Eom Ji-won would reprise her adorable sunniness from The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry rather than pulling a 180 and going for ambitious careerwoman. Then again, her Marry character was also an ambitious careerwoman who still managed to be daffy and ridiculous…) Well, at at least Champ has proven that Jung can surprise us, so I’m hoping he brightens up the cast of Sign.

definitely a must see!!! jung gyeo won is love...park shin yang is a delight (including his shouting)...eom ji won is hilarious...kim ah joong is----pass....hahaha....anyway, i like this kind of CSI something something...so i'm right on board...

yes! yes! i like!!!!!.....so he's jumping from one medical drama to another and in neither did he play or will he be playing a doctor...lol....but i like that he's playing a very different character...though like you i wish he would play one more adorable character before moving on to meatier stuff....the cast is looking really good here

wow...i thought i was the only one who thought it would be awesome for him to stick with roles like ji heon. he plays ji heon so so well. i wish the drama werent ending so soon T_T i love his playful goofy but nice guy role. i guess bad boy isnt tooo far off.

Ooohhh, Ji Heonnn! Heh, he's absolutely adorable, so now my reasons to watch this drama are piling up. First, Harvest Villa's duo, now him. Too bad the leading is Kim Ah Joong, can't stand her painful attempts to act ¬¬

cant wait his new project .... our Sso takes Athena and so Jung Gyu Woon with this..both on SBS ...well they're born for SBS LoL

I've been a big fan of him since I watched him in Blissful Woman few years ago.. He succeed in making me watching all his dramas since then! :D Can't wait for watching this drama! XP

I am so glad that he is doing another show after Dr Champ. I love him since Loving you a thousand times (my first korean romance/melodram). His portrayal in that drama was even more adorable and mesmerizing.

I admire him since Loving You 1000x's, and my lukewarm feeling continues on Dr Champ. I'll have to check the rest when time permits.
I think it's great to have a diversify portfolio in baby steps. Aja-aja Kyeo-woon-shi!

I have really like Jung Kyeo Woon since his weepy drama Loving you A Thousand Times... I only watched that drama for two reasons, and I'm not ashamed to say that the first one was because Heenim was going to be in it, but the second one came after the first episode... I saw JKW and was hooked... I didn't miss a single episode.... Even though it was pretty dramatic and I didn't really like how they handled the surrogate mother theme... and I hated the character who married Heenim's... I still watched it... it was like he drew me to it and didn't let me escape...

He caught my eye in A Happy Woman where he played a philandering husband with a heart. He was so-so in Women of the Sun and I love his character to bits in Love You a Thousand Times which I am now watching. I haven't seen Dr Champ but will wait anxiously until it becomes available to us
