Kim So-yeon surprised with a birthday party on set

Kim So-yeon turned 30 last week, and since she’s hard at work filming a drama at the moment (SBS’s Dr. Champ), she celebrated the event on set.
Her birthday was on November 2; the following day, the drama’s crew surprised her with a party and a cake while she was at the Hallym University hospital in Anyang to shoot scenes. She’s got a particularly good relationship with the staff, with whom she also worked on her previous drama, SBS’s Prosecutor Princess; in fact, she says she chose this role not only because she liked the character, but because of her faith in the crew.
The other stars, of course, were also on hand for the festivities, which include Uhm Tae-woong, who plays her boss in the drama, and Jung Kyeo-woon, who plays her athlete love interest.
Kim said, “For actors, II think spending a birthday on a filming set is a happy occasion. I’m truly thankful for our Dr. Champ staff, who are always working hard even in difficult conditions.”
Dr. Champ, which just aired its 14th episode, is heading toward its close and will be wrapping up next week with its 16th episode. While it’s a drama I hadn’t had particular expectations for, it’s proven to be pretty entertaining, not to mention visually beautiful. I’m always happy when a drama exceeds my expectations.

Thanks JB for sharing this sweet update. Simply adore Kim Soyeon-ssi and it's the second time she's celebrating her birthday at the set.. last year with IRIS. So glad that filming Dr. Champ is making her especially happy and busy working like she wanted, too. ^^ Way to go.. girl!

saw her acting in all about eve and pretty much she was very devious
anyone know what happen to her time between her "all about eve" days and "iris," she had a period of time she was off but kind find much info about that. did she take a break or she couldn't find a script she could work with

my first KSY drama was Autumn Shower i think, which also starred Oh Ji Ho,Jung Ryeo Won n Lee Chun Hee. she was great in it. she played a scientist who became crippled after an accident during her honeymoon and then her husband had an affair with her best friend. i really like that drama. conflicts n angst of love, friendship, betrayal n forgiveness were played well in it, the ending was awfully touching n beautiful. sniff* although the ratings were poor and i don't think many ppl like it.

My first KSY drama was IRIS, and I was blown away by her sexy and badass North Korean spy character. I checked to see what other projects she was in, and then watched All About Eve. I agree with mimim that KSY outshined Chae Rim in many scenes. After that, I fell in love with her in PP...and am thoroughly enjoying her in DC.

I ma sad that they left off at Epi 16, thought there wd be more, like the senior doctor coming back to make things diff for Yeon Woo and more lovey dovey for our 2 leads
