Actually, that's the polite explanation. Seriously though, the whole OT idea came about because I talk about TOP too much. And my little sister talks about Siwon too much. And Diadda needed a place to show us her videos and limericks. And I have pigeons.

Ha! I'll provide the chloroform!

And a taser for all the other fangirls who may get in our way. Move it or lose it biatches!

0

Awesome! But you still need to go through a background check. How you answer the following question will determine your eligibility to join "Operation Super Secret Hush Hush Planned on a Public Forum" ;)

How do you feel about Choi Si Won?

0

Answer: Choi Siwon is a very good brother-in-law whom I will never touch because he belongs to my little sister Viola. Also, no other girl will ever touch him, ever, because he belongs to my little sister Viola. Also, if any other girl ever touches him my pigeons will harm her (the girl, not Viola).

0

unnie, you just gave away the answer! Now, how am I suppose to find out that Okie dokie won't run off with him, after she(?) chloroforms him?

Trust is very important in carrying out such a sensitive mission! :)

0

No worries, he's hot, I drool, I look, but I won't touch. I'm saving myself for someone else... (*Daniel Henney*) =D And Yoon Eun Hye!!

0

and Hyori, can I have her too? Or is this asking for too much? See...I have too many on my plate for your Siwon. =D

0

But I have pigeons to ensure that your Siwon will not be surrounded by people with nefarious intent, so you need not worry about okie dokie...

0

You guys have time to tase & drag Eric back for me right? Thanks.

0

@okie dokie
Henny, Hyori and Eun Hye? Looks like someone is going to be a busy bee! ;)

The English major nerd in me totally loves the sound of
" Henny, Hyori, Eun Hye" alliteration and assonanance...ooh *shiver* ;)

I don't know what it was...perhaps lack of dialogue, or action, I was just waiting for something to happen. I mean, I understood the movie, and I'll admit it was creative and the acting was good. But movies that are too artsy tend to kill me slowly and painfully.

Maybe I'm like a dude and need more adrenaline injected into my movies.

Hi OTers,
It's been hectic in my country, tsunami and volcanic eruption.there are no words to describe how painful the situation now.these tragedies make me think a lot,of how we are so vulnerable, anything can happen.yet,we strive to survive because life is so precious.i guess when youre in a situation where you think you come close to death make you appreciate every piece of life.you want to keep it safe in your pocket of memory.

My 3-Iron DVD was borrowed and never returned damn youuuuuuu....
Your right it was a good movie, hell even my dormmates were able to finish it and they hate watching movies with subtitles. The consensus was that Jae hee is crazy. I never disabuse them of that notion too hard to explain that he was tring to be a shadow, to live in occupied space. Even I can't explain it to myself *sigh*.

Can't wait for the next epi of Dr. Champ. I'm so curious on who will Yeon Woo will end up with, I like them both but I still prefer Do Wook. :) And I just want to ask if am I the only one who thinks that Go Bum, Park Ji Heon, Cha Eun Suk and Yoon Sang Bong an eye candy? They're all hot! LOL I really like the angst of Go Bum. :) Dr. Champ is really my current addiction and I'm looking forward to watch It's alright Daddy's Girl coz of Donghae and Kim Tae Ho.

Also, I really hope that Jo Hyun Jae will accept Love Song as his comeback drama. It's been months and they still haven't announce who the male lead is. :(

Happy Friday DB family :D

I've been suffering from K drama withdrawal this week. I had a guest from out of the country. In true desi style I was cooking up a storm and shopping for gifts for my nephew and his family. I also got to go on a school field trip with my son to N.A.S.A. Ames :D It was really nice. They asked for the chaperons info. two weeks in advance. I think they did a full background check on us before we were allowed on base :P. ( They must not have read this blog :P )

I still have not seen episode 20 of SKKS. Where can I watch the full episode? Help!!!!!! It's been driving me crazy all week!!!!!

This week I finally ordered my desired Kindel from Amazon & got in in 2 days [that was a huge surprise as I live outside of the US] - all I can say is the Kindel is the best device for reading books. I already downloaded many favorites of mine to it and am looking forward to tomorrow, when I will at long last get a chance to read some books who have been on my "must read list" for months.

0

Required fields are marked *

I love my Kindle too :D Now I can get lots of my favorite books and not clutter up my bookshelves. Last year I had to say farewell to 10 boxes of books *sobs*, they were taking up half my closet space (I had already filled my bookshelves to the max, and this was the overflow).
I must confess, I miss holding a proper book. Also the book covers are not in color. :(

Is the Kindle worth it? I'm considering it but there's just something about holding a book and not looking at a screen that I really enjoy...how's the transition?

Woo Hoo Giants won the World Series!!!! We were glued to our set that day. I wish they had won here in San Fran.

Kindle is nice it gives you a feel of reading a paperback. The screen is not backlit like a computer, so you can read it in the sun with no glare. Check out the new Nook too it is in color and has a touch screen. With the Nook you can get free books from your local library too.

0

0

LOL And now every one open up their true identity (that how a family supposed to be) ;)

0

I live outside to the US so its definitely worth it for me. I save tons of money on shipping rates & save time by getting the books instantly without waiting for them to arrive by mail.

The transition between pages while reading is smooth and I find Its easy to adjust. the device isnt too big [like the IPod] so it doesnt tire either your eyes or hands.

I also debated and in the end decided to buy an ebook device. the Kindel was the best choice for me b'cos it allows me to enjoy a large variety of content. it suited me more than the Nook or even a e-reader sold in my country which offered very small choice of books.

Holding a book in your hands while reading a pleasure that as a book lover I will never give up. I am still going to be buying hard copy of books that I enjoy and plan to re-read over the years. so far, I am the only one in my family who likes the kindel so there is no question of us not buying or reading books taken from the public library.

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

I know the feeling of having to say goodbye to a collection of books I had for many years. when we changed apartments I saw no way to take all mt books with me and had to donate some to the public library. The great advantage of the Kindel is the space it saves.

0

Yeah, I know what you mean. I love books. I love having them. For now, I'm not an e-reader. Even though I do check them out from time to time.

0

Some say there's a sensation of touching the paper with hands that makes people keep coming back to books even there's e book reader. A book is safer for the eyes (my eyes hurt reading e-book to much) and save you from the inconvenience on having to find electricity source, in case you travel to a place without electricity.

0

I fought the whole e-reader thing for so long too. I gave in and got it because it is great for travel. I can't sleep on an airplane, so I read the whole time. I used to have to carry four paperbacks with me ( two for the outgoing journey and two for the return). San. Fran. to Islamabad is a LONG flight :(

Happy Friday.....

Because you all and JB high recommendation, I stared watching Soulmate last week. Oh yeah forget to mention, the premise: The OTP won't truly meeting until half of the series.

Oh Ok like usual my random comments: Before watching this series, I thought my sister is my soulmate in certain way. But Soulmate gives the highest definition of Soulmate. Soulmate: The person who accidentally meets you every where & uses the cloth that color matching with yours, has the same taste of music or food, and the most important thing can read your mind. And now, I'm more confuse what Soulmate is all about.

I don't judge series, it's bad or not, not to this series or all kdrama series that I've watched before. Everyone has her/his own cup of tea. But I would like to compare it with series I watched recently: I like WISFC, Wish Upon A Star and SoAM more, same with Friend Our Legend, not more than Love & Marriage. And ups I like Cinderella sister and World Within more than this (I know there're many people who disappointed with this two series, hee). Ok I prefer a classic conventional type of kdrama than the type kdrama that Soulmate has.
Those classic conventional type of kdrama is the reason behind my unreasonable love to kdrama.

And now I wait impatiently for My Bus to take me fast to Monday.... SKKS So Long, Au Revoir

Some of the games are repetitive but they are SOO funny. I think my fave is the game where the chasing team wears bells. Yoo Jae-suk is hilarious. And the loveline between Gary and Song Ji-hyo is funny too. Now that SKKS is over hopefully Joong-ki will be on more.

Happy Friday!

This week kicked me while I was already down. Not only am I suffering from a head cold but:

NaNoWriMo started on Monday. I managed to get my 2k word goal for the day done, same on Tuesday (even though I was working on a presentation/project that my prof railroaded me with). But failed on Wednesday (didn't write a single word because I had a 6pg paper to due as well as a 2pg single spaced paper to finish) and yesterday I made it up by writing a little over 4k words.

This weekend I hope to get to 14k words because I will be doing nothing all weekend...though that is a total lie because I will hopefully be watching eps 52/3 of Life is Beautiful...but only if WITHS2 releases it. I would donate for VIA access, but I'm waiting until Athena starts airing to do that. Oh and homework, I have a paper due next week as well as rough draft of another paper. And I have to catch a train on Wednesday to go home for the long weekend (Veteran's Day on the 11th, skipping class Friday, Family Reunion on Sat, and trip to visit family in NH on Sunday).

When I going to have time to watch anything between NaNo, all my homework, and family stuff? Only this weekend and next Friday...

Hope everyone's Friday isn't as hectic as mine is going to be (this friday, not next).

good luck keeping up with it! If it were me, my writing would eventually lose to watching dramas. lol...it really is like drugs. :-p

Yes, drama watching is like a drug. But I can multi-task and watch a drama while writing; it's just a bit difficult when I get on a roll with my writing because I tend to focus more on that then the drama. It doesn't help that the cast in my novel is Asian and the settings are Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea. Makes me want to watch dramas more.

Good Luck to your sister though!

Happy Friday everyone!

I'm in the very last stretch of SKKS and I'm so sad it's ending. I always do this to myself. I will marathon a series cuz it's so darn good, trying to watch 3,4,5 eps each night after work before i pass out... and then before you know it it's over and i'm sad that i didn't take longer to enjoy it. I did this with City Hall too... sigh.

So I just wanted to say thanks so much to all the recappers for this series - I would not have understood so much of it w/o your help!! So to @red pill, @cassie, @girlfriday, and @javabeans, thanks for all your hard work on not only recapping but your ever witty commentary :) looking forward to the last 2!

long live Yummy+Moony <3 rawr

haha yes, City Hall was just one of the many I've done this with... it leads to many zombie-like workdays :T

I loved City Hall - it's really a gem that I think was way under-appreciated. CSW is beyond smexy and the chemistry he had with KSA... indescribable. a very enjoyable ride... just ask @ockoala :D

@ hester

beware.. it took me until ep 8 or so before i didn't want to drop kick Gookie.. but i kept at watching because of all the ravings from said poster and aforementioned poster... and then i absolutely LOVED the rest of the drama!!

the only dramas i semi-marathoned were YB and B&W. i could NOT get enough of those dramas.. it took a while for me to get over them ending.. heck, i've just recently gotten over YB because of MGiaG... which i have yet to finish. BOO!

@ twin
you didn't finish watching SKKS last night? i would have thought you would be done already. lol.

0

@ hester

my twin (@lb_tmi) has warned you fairly i guess. i personally never disliked Gookie - probably because i knew they were meant to be and there was a reason for all the madness lols.

Black & White (B&W) was another one I did that i regretted marathoning too because before i knew it, it was over :( ... omg the bromance in THAT one haha... not as 'obvious' as SKKS's but definitely took center stage over any of the leading ladies.

@ twin

can you please finish MGiaG already please? it's up fully subbed on dramafever :) so get on that!!!

and no i didn't finish watching SKKS... it's only subbed up to ep 18... i watched ep 19 raw and read the live recap on thundie's prattle to supplement my complete lack of knowledge of the korean language. that process takes twice as long to watch one ep btw haha. so by then i was way too tired to do that with ep 20 ha. figure i'll just wait till next week and rewatch 19 and 20 together... Yummy in ep 19 is super epic.... he's such a rockstar.

0

@ twin

but i just don't want MGiaG to end.. it hurts when dramas end. BOO!!! plus i can't this weekend (i still have one more project and midterm next week i should be studying for). but i will.. SOON. promise :)

CSW was all sorts of freaken HOT, but he was a jerk at the beginning, so it took a while for me to warm up to him, but i still thought he was hot the whole time. lol.

i think i'm going to watch Antique Bakery and Frozen Flower and Strongest Chil Woo now actually.. i need my Yoo Ah In and Song Joong Ki fix... STAT!!

0

I totally do that too... I always regret it the next day when I have to get up for class, but somehow I don't learn my lesson.

I was kicking myself for not taking it slower after the last episode of City Hall too. I have never felt the thrill of wanting to know what happens next so much with any other drama.

i have seen episodes 19 and 20 of SKKS, but still waiting for the ones with sub. watching the no-sub eps reminded me of my visit to Seoul last winter where I had conversations with a lot of locals in Korean (asking for directions, ordering food, etc.) and was amazed at how I got what they were saying, although I didn't understand word by word. can't wait for the eng sub episodes!

anyway. SKKS took me away a bit from the rom-com story that I am writing, which is about a star football player and a starting out diva - both still in college and attending the same school - who are in a Romeo VS. Juliet kind of situation. (Their families want them together, they would turn violent at each other when left to themselves.) and then someone put a spell on them which caused them to switch bodies, which is a problem more than the given, because the Romeo is about to be drafted into the professional league and the Juliet had just signed for a record deal with her girl group.

I used to have Jang Geun-Suk as my character inspiration for the Romeo, but has now switched to Song Joong-Ki, because I loved the way he handled the Yeo-rim character. And for the Juliet, Shin Min-Ah (GF is a Gumiho) is the character inspiration. It helps to have these people in mind while writing, because it makes the process more fun. :)

SKK Scandal has ended. Waiting patiently (er, sorta) for the English subs. Am so gonna miss the Jalgeum Quartet. Especially Yeorim. He really stole my heart. (Well, Jae-Shin is time-sharing it with him, hehehe).

I gotta come out and say I didn't have high hopes for this drama at first. I'm very, very wary of saeguks. Not being Korean, I'm always worried that half of it's going to be over my head and spoil the fun. A lot of the stuff in SKK was a bit of a question mark for me (a lot of the political stuff, like the factions) but that didn't stop me from having a fantastic time. So thank you, drama, and thanks for all the recappers for filling in the blanks.

I think on another thread, someone said they finally realized that Micky Yuchun was cute. Me too! I've seen him on and off (don't really listen to Kpop) in other places, but he always had some weird asymmetrical haircut that I found unflattering. He's smokin' in this drama though, to the point where if I see him in JYJ promotional stuff, I just wanna yell, get this man in a hanbok, STAT!

And Jae-shin - love the hair. Love the bracelet. Love the brooding. Love it all.

And Yeorim - just LOVE. :D

Yoon-hee deserves a shout-out too, for not being a simpering milk-and-water miss and being able to quote Confucius around the guys. You go girl!

Gonna miss this drama so much. Sigh. Well, Mary's coming, right? Gotta catch my bus!

Micky seem to me always that ehh kind of haircut, not the kind that Kpop idol usually has. I look at him in modern style cloth over and over again, wonder why so many people find him cute. Now, I can't help to agree with them. Micky is hot in Hanbok.

I am constantly torn between my love for JaeShin and Yeorim.. whenever one is onscreen, i pledge my undying love for them... and then the other one comes on and i find myself doing the same thing. it's probably another reason why i ship them together.

I think what's so great about Yummy+Moony is that they are polar opposites of each other and yet are BFFs. Yummy is pale pale milky white with impeccable fashion, a cheerful playboy and has an aversion to physical exertion. Then we have Moony who is dark and broody with a lil bit of facial fuzz (<3!!), couldn't care less about his clothes and can fight off 20 men at once, but hiccups when ladies are around. The hiccups have to be one of the cutest character traits i've ever seen, btw.

And yes, Micky is hot in a hanbok.

@lovency52

they all look hot in a hanbok! :))

I prefer Micky's hair pulled back - after comparing his SKKS look to his DBSK/JYJ photos. his face needs more exposure.

Yoo Ah In... he looks refreshing with his hair pulled back as well (and in a white, clean hanbok), but he has more appeal with the grungy look.

and Joon-Ki... I wonder if he can sport the grungy look like Yoo Ah In's Jae-shin.

@ izzie

yes they all look delicious in hanboks for sure. :D

i prefer my Moony a lil scruffy - it works with his bad boy (but with a hiccupy softy heart) image. though seeing him all cleaned up is refreshing as well. who am i kidding, boy can pull off any look. rawr.

As for Yummy - his face is too pure to be bad-ass/grungy.. i love him in his flamboyantly colored hanboks. though one of the FUNNIEST scenes of him was his 'angel of death' look and growl. i rewatched that about 83 times.

i actually had not seen Yoo Ah In in another other drama before this but saw that he was in Antique Bakery a few years back. I downloaded it awhile back but never got around to watching it. I watched Yoo Ah in First in The man who still can not marry (I love this drama), he get that immature mama boy but sweet character, not bad but not impressing. He seem grown up and more mature in SKKS, hope he'll get his 1st lead role after this (perhaps this is the reason why he doesn't want to continue his Jaeshin character in SKKS? just my thought).

Now I just have to watch Antique Bakery!

Happy Friday and Happy Diwali everyone! I'm not Hindu but my grade school had this tradition of celebrating every religious holiday, so we always had Diwali themed classes on that day :) My grade school was awesome - I miss those days (in more ways than one)

Speaking of India, though, I just stumbled upon an article about a new Bollywood movie, where this dude travels back in time to the 1970s to save his parents marriage. It looks awesome, and stars Aishwarya Rai and the dude from Singh is King. Reviews don't look promising, but the cinematography is gorgeous as expected from Bollywood movies. So should I go ahead and watch it? Or should I watch another movie instead. Haven't been to see a movie in forever...

Netflix has a decent collection for instant streaming if you're interested in paying for that service (totally worth it IMO - that's how I've been watching Avatar). Most of the other ones I watched on cheap DVDs I bought when I was home in Nigeria, lol. But, I'm sure we could find some websites dedicated to Bollywood movies much like this site is dedicated to k-dramas! We just have to look...

As for recommendations: for your typical, all dancing, dramatic love story Bollywood movie, my favorite is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - Shahrukh Khan and Kajol are awesome together :) For one with singing and dancing but a more serious tone, I liked Rang De Basanti. Then you have classics like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (epic, highest grossing Bollywood movie ever - have yet to see it myself) and "trendy" movies like Dostana. I tend to follow actors that I like, so if I watch a movie and like an actor, I'll watch another movie of theirs, then do the same. Also, my big sis is a huge Bollywood buff so I get recommendations from her as well :)

And I watched Three Idiots over the summer. It was so different, but SO GOOD. I love Amir Khan. (He's also in Lagaan, which is set during the colonial period and is excellent, but a little more serious.)

Definitely second all three recommendations :)

And the fight sequences are amazing too! *sigh* I'm 22 years old but I still love my cartoons :D

On a side note, I just realised that the person who wrote the manwha 'Full House' is the same one that wrote 'Mary stayed out all night'. I wasn't initially looking forward to this drama, but will now be impatiently anticipating it next week.
I absolutely love Full House, it was the drama that sucked me into kdramas again because it made me realise that not all kdramas are melodramatic.

Avatar is awesome, such a pity about what was done to the movie. I want a do over! No M Knight Shamalamadingdong. The casting was fine and the effects were cool. So throw out the script and reedit the thing with new scenes for the plot.

And the new Avatar Cartoon there are making sounds good too. A new Bender but with all the other characters grown up, married off and with kids/ grandkids of there own... ooo just seeing who ended up with who and the flashes back through Ang's life and how it relates to the new bender will be awesome.

I was Soooo Pissed Off when they had a white guy play the lead role for the movie. What the Heck aren't there any good Asian actors in America? It was a big slap in the face! I refused to watch the movie!!! My kids who are crazy about Airbender wanted to go see it badly, but as soon as they found out about the lead actor, they didn't want to go either. There are plenty of good asian actors in America. It's just the American Entertainment Industry hasn't embraced them yet. And when they do cast an asian person, oh the stereotypes...don't get me started!!!

No, I just have conversations with myself on Dramabeans and I post the same thing under multiple names. Okay chipping in on the convo (strange cos I mentioned the Last Airbender somewhere in one of my comments...so it's weird it turns up here again, and a full blown convo at that)...

Never watched the cartoon series, altho I hear it's good (certainly had rave reviews on the net), but my friend convinced me to go watch the movie version, even though we knew it'd be terrible (my friend has a weakness for b-grade movies). It was only fun because we snarked through it - terrible movie ettiquette but otherwise I would've gone insane wanting to throw something at the (big) screen. We did try to keep it low, but I have a feeling our commentary was vaguely more exciting than the movie because certainly no one leaned over and told us to shut up.

I love it when people snark through horrible movies... now, I know this may sound strange to some, but my best friend and I have gone to some horrible movies just to hear people's snark and random comments, especially when we're bored we like to hear the snark so we usually sit in the middle of everyone so that we can hear it... it helps in passing the time lol...

I love The Last Airbender, I used to get the evil eye from my dormmates whenever I switched the channel. It's on every 5:30 pm same time as another drama they are watching but come on I get first divs on the TV since I'm one of the 2 who bought it. Use the POWER I say, PEACE. I will sacrifice friendship to watch this show.

Does anyone know what the lyrics from "Take care, my bus!" are saying?

You know, I was actually pleasantly surprised by this song. I have no idea what the words translate to, they could mean "My cat ate my dog's homework while I went to take care of my bus" for all I know, but I really liked the melody. I got a j-rock kind of vibe from it and JGS sounds great!

When Playful Kiss was determined to be a 16 episode drama by MBC due to its lackluster ratings, Group 8 (the production company) decided to partner with Youtube to film 7 additional episodes of the drama (eact 10 mins long).

The 7 additional eps show the married life of Ha Ni and Seung Jo after the end of the drama. Clearly Group 8 had the written material ready, and was able to sell this product to Youtube.

Right now, the combined first and second YT episodes have 1.7 million views, and it's likely over 2 million if you factor in the just released 3rd YT episode.

CNN Asia is doing an exclusive interview with Kim Hyun Joong, Youtube and Group 8 to air on Novembe 8, 2010, about how wildly successful the PK YT venture has been.

I think it was the confluence of PK always being better tailored for an international audience, and Group 8 making lemonade out of lemons (after MBC decided PK was going to be 16 epsiodes only).

The YT episodes are beyond adorable. This might be a option for a lot of trendy K-dramas. For example, I keep thinking how a Youtube special edition would have greatly enhanced You're Beautiful last year. YB had the fanbase for it as well.

Going forward, since the PK-YT venture has proven to be marketable and successful, we might one or two K-dramas a year try this out. Of course, it has to be a mania hit. If the drama is a certifiable hit, the station will just extend the drama itself.

Hope my explanation helps. :-D

@ockoala

That was an extremely comprehensive response... thanks! I think you're right about dramas that have more international appeal potentially doing REALLY well on internet outlets. After all, none of us contribute to local broadcast ratings, since we're not watching things in Korea.

Makes sense, especially when I think about my own preferences... I always like these internet mania dramas the best over the huge blockbusters.

SKKS has become a mania. Would love to see more of the JQ, but not sure about them appearing for a YT extension esp that the actors are already tired. If it pulls through, it could come out forced. But hey, it would be interesting to see a follow-up on some of the characters' story.

I think it was genius for PK to partner with Youtube. They may not get the ratings or whatever they need for extensions, but for dramas with diehard fanbases, this is a great way to give them a little present - per se. Besides, aren't there always dramas where we alway wonder what the hell happened after the end - but it wasn't popular enough for an extension.

Also, the 10 min episodes are better in that they don't give the team enough time to dilute the drama like how many extensions tend to do.

THUMBS WAY UP!!

Yup. I'm pretty sure there are at least five different languages subbed there. Use the youtube close caption toggle to view subs.

0

The Youtube episodes are actually better than some of the actual episodes. Maybe cos they're forced to be so condensed that the pacing of the story becomes a lot tighter? Anyway, it's cute. I've watched the first two eps already. Go for it guys!

This YT thing is a great idea. They should do it for more of the mania dramas...especially those that got cut. Some of the last episodes usually end up rushing things so people get very confused.

How've you been? Thanks for dropping my name as a City Haller. Still my fave drama ever, sometimes you don't need a reason why, it just works for me.

Glad you are enjoying so many dramas recently - PK and SKKS. I dropped SKKS halfway, just wasn't into it for whatever reason. Glad I did, though, because OT twitter has been on an unending stream of SKKS-hate lately, though the pervy discussions of Moony+Yummy more than make up for it!

When I think City Hall, I automatically think of you :) Didn't you delurk around that time hehe.

Man, I have been in a drama FRENZY lately... MGiaG, PK (which, again, I would have NEVER picked up if it wasn't for you!! so thanks again!!), and SKKS. i saw SKKS posts bombarded throughout OT so I just had to give it a go, and I am so glad i did! I actually am enjoying the show as a whole, but Yummy+Moony is what really made it fantabulous for me. You say there's SKKS-hate?! Where?! Maybe I just have not been looking haha.

0

nah, it's just a handful taking SKKS too seriously! ;P

I heart to bits even though there r things I want not flesh out well but SKKS is my HanaDan +HanaKimi+ Butterfly lovers done right. and I LUB it.

0

Well, everyone has watched SKKS (actually, come to think of it, I've watched the least - stopped at episode 10), so that says something about it at least bringing people to the yard.

The reactions range from - so cute, who cares if the plot got stupider and stupider - to - ugh, this is getting retarded, but imma going to stay in it for the bromance - to - this is so painful, must drink alcohol before I can continue watching.

I don't know, but Mon-Tuesday night was some of the funniest discussions I've ever heard. I've just been so caught up on Giant (omo 50 episodes down, 10 more to go!) myself.

You know, PK really surprised me, it didn't try too hard (wish it did try harder) but it was consistent throughout and had a lovely whimsical yet relatable vibe that carried the drama to the end. I'm really digging the YT episodes, it's got all the cute we love about PK without the sillier elements.

As for City Hall - are you ready, drama-sister, for SECRET GARDEN? Kim Eun Sook wielding her post-City Hall pen to create magic for Binnie and Ha Ji Won. I am so there.

0

PK partners w/ YT, certainly makes you go... Hmm~? Now it makes so much sense why OHN kept Googling everything in site. (Google owns YT.)

I certainly won't deny it, I've heighten my muse watching these YT sp.editions more than the original 16 eps, 'cos it took this long for the two leads to get comfy w/ each other to produce "magic" onscreen.

About time!

I've been watching K-dramas since 2001 starting with "This Is love" on KBS and have been addicted ever since. SKKS was totally different though. This was the first time I was an absolute blubbering mess after every episode. I'm now suffering from withdrawal symptoms - crying, sleeplessness, irritability, etc. My co-workers think I'm nuts but I don't care. I'm a total FanGirl at 40y.o. and not ashamed to say it.

‘Joseon X-Files’

Has become one of the 'Best Dramas' of the past 10 years.

This unassuming show that takes on the likes of the cult American show the 'X-Files', has proven to be a real force to reckon with, a show where the romantic is only implied, where the supernatural runs amok, where spirits, and goblins, blend themselves, with 'Alien Spacecrafts', and the 'Fourth Dimension' opens before our very eyes, has manage to capture not only my attention but my heart also.

I have finished the whole series, and at the end it left me crying, the unsuspected turn of events took me completely by surprise, and it shook me so deep that all I can do was to cry.

It's amazing cinematography, and the writing as far as I am concern has no equal in what has been produce in Korea since I first saw 'Time Between Dog and Wolf', and I am referring here to the 'Action Pack', style dramas, like 'IRIS, A man called God, Plan B, etc', this drama IMHO embodies, all the elements that make a show of this nature a success.

I can honestly say that with 12 episodes this drama, prove that Korea does have what it takes to make this kind of dramas, since in the past Korea has only partially delve with the theme of the 'Supernatural', Sci-Fi has been one of my favorites Genres when it comes to shows and I must admit that I was a bit hesitant because of the subject matter, if not treated with respect it turns into another comedic show in the likes of 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes'.

This show deals with some 'real historical' accounts, and with some local folkloric tales, but the weaving of the story line thread is of such high quality that the viewer is left wanting for more, never once thus the story leaves us rejecting the premise at an intellectual level, on the other hand our brains almost like in a 'Chess Match' rushes to try to find all the possible answers in trying to keep ahead of its opponent, thus bringing almost a mental rush of joy, akin to a 'sexual encounter'.

Last but not least; ‘Joseon X-Files’ is one of those dramas that come by every so often like a 'meteor' hitting the atmosphere and giving a beautiful luminous light of many colors, rendering the viewer into an ecstatic trance of joy for a few seconds, leaving us wanting more, and , more as we keep watching this meteor shower with a simple 'Child Like' attitude. This is a drama that I will truly missed in the days to come!!!!!!!

For all the people suffering from SKKS withdrawal, and afraid that some other rabid fangirl will steal your Yummy, Moony, or Smarty, give Diadda's patent pending Hammer system a try! I think it might help immensely! I personally ordered two to keep my beloved Siwon ;)

She posted it on the last OT #159,(from Istanbul and written on her phone no less!!) *utter awe* I just wanted to repost it 'cause it was so utterly awesome!

This is written by Diadda

"I would never dream of taking anything like this from GF, but a low-jack only tells you something is being taken. And some force objects to be incapable of proper functionality if I am not mistaken, so it is more difficult to steal. However thinking about this on LSG is not so good. He is incapacitated so he can’t fight. And you were notified he got taken and know where he is, but what is to stop whomever has him from doing whatever till you get there. Just saying…maybe an additional locking “the HAMMER”.

The following is a paid for advertisement. No relation to this website.

Have you ever wished you could keep tabs on your Kdrama idol but didn’t know how? You already claimed him as “MINE” years ago, but that new girl who just saw him once is eying him with malintentions. This time, without getting a restraining order placed on you, enjoy the freedom of knowing your man is truly yours. That’s right we make him yours and yours alone with he help of HAMMER.

HAMMER is an all purpose utility designed to lock up your precious, so no one not even you (if you want it that way) can touch his pristine wonderfulness.

First step of the Hammer system is Hallucinogens. Since we already have established your need to claim said precious. It is only right to fully make the situation as real as possible. yes you will be with your beloved for as long as you want wherever you want. Pick the French Riviera and Boom your there with him pouring the drinks.

Arming a fangirl is obviously the next thing to do. Since forearmed is forewarned. We send you in our started kit a true HAMMER. with sturdy wooden handle. Please feel free to use on yourself if the first step is not working.

Multiplication and Moon Jae shin are the next steps cause you need to multiply the number of days of your adoration of precious by the number of fangirls currently shipping Moon Jae Shin. This is your randomly rotating security code for the HAMMER system. since this number can be astronomically high we have yet to have any of our systems broken.

Extrication is a program we use in conjunction with 1-800-FAN-GIRL. Should you get caught while under the influence of HAMMER or holding onto HAMMER.

Realty checks are given only in the most dire of cases and usually end up with padded walls. Here you and your precious can live out your days in bliss forever.

HAMMER is it true security. It is piece of mind(maybe missing). Get yours today!

This has been a paid advertisement of the HAMMER system"

First time posting here and I'm just going to come out and say it: I'm a Drama Snob. That's right. It takes alot for me to fully get into a drama: leads must be attractive, they must have chemistry and story must be interesting ... yeah, it doesn't sound like I'm asking for much right? Well, I can't seem to find that drama at the moment. Last drama I watched that had me full blown addicted was My Girl. I'm watching Sunkyunkwan Scandal now and it's good but I'm just not at that obsessed level. Is something wrong with me? How can I get out of this rut? I need recommendations!!

I've only had that feeling once, and that was at the beginning of Coffee House (not Prince). I don't like most of the stuff that people rave about.

I think after feeling that kind of addiction, it's hard to feel that way again. That said, the current offerings are pretty poor. I'm only watching Runaway Plan B, and started recapping Baker King to occupy myself (I set aside a few hours for leisure, and I can't find enough drama to fill it). Everyone seems to be waiting for Marry Me, Mary, but it looks possibly fluffy. Anything else coming up that I should look out for?

My drama criteria are good acting (which I think most K actors do pretty well), and a decent original storyline. After a few dramas, some of them blend into each other, easily forgotten. There were too many contracts (dating and marriage) out there. I feel like after 3 dramas, cross dressing is boring too...

I feel the same way about SKKS - I like it a lot but I'm not full-on obsessed like everyone else seems to be.

The only drama I've been that crazy about was City Hall. I don't know if you've seen it, but if you haven't, definitely check it out. Chemistry of the leads is 1819877407058, acting is amazing, the story is addicting and keeps you on the edge of your seat, and it has excellent dialogue.

And Coffee Prince is a close second for me, but you've probably seen that already :)

Wonder what's Daemul's rating for episode 9 and 10?

I found the drama getting too noisy, messy and choppy!! The storyline seems to have been written by a scattered-brain or simply a lousy copycat!!

BTW, I also found GHJ seems to loose her usual sparks and the new PD appears to have increasing the airing time for the second lead actress, albeit she is really green in her acting!! I would expect the drama to drop to a single digit in the next 2 weeks, if the storyline remains so listless, or simply mimid City Hall's plot....

What can make leather or imitation leather crack and how can one stop this from happening?

0
1
reply

Required fields are marked *

Oxidation makes leather crack. This generally happens when you let your leather get wet.

Pre-treat all leather products with warm water and saddle soap, which is a tallow based product. Rinse it with warm water and brush it with a soft brush, and towel it dry. When you have finished pre-treating it, you can choose to treat it with water repellent or a leather protector. You can get any of these products at a leather store, or find your local saddle store, where you can get demonstrations by people who put their leather through h3ll and back.

Keep your leather out of the sun and away from weather as much as possible, and it'll last you for a hundred years.

Netizen comments are crazy. I knew they would finally bring up a name, this is the power of internet. One comment that say she/he wish she/he is raped by an idol is the top of it. This guy has to get her/his head fixed.

It's Friday, y'all! Margarita time!!!

I finished What's Up, Fox? this week! It made me so happy! Still debating on what to watch next, but I know that I'm going to be spending Sunday nights with the DB FB group!

Oh, and Happy Guy Fawkes day to those blokes who like blowing up Parliament and whatnot.

Happy Diwali... I have no idea what that is.

And I'm saying prayers for the people who got the bad luck to have tsunamis and volcanoes...

You didn't spell it wrong, there are many variations. I spell it as Diwali too! It's a very important Hindu holiday and is also called the festival of lights, people basically light thousands of lamps and decorate the city with lights, and sets off fireworks! It literally is a celebration of the triumph of light over the dark. It is very gorgeous! :)

"Diwali commemorates the return of Lord Rama along with Sita and Lakshman from his fourteen year long exile and vanquishing the demon-king Ravana" - wikipedia

I will recommend "Phoenix" (100% Melodrama) with the late "Lee Eun Joo (RIP)', Eric, Lee Seo Jin, and Jung Hye Young who plays Oh Ha Ni's mother in law in Playful Kiss.

9 End 2 Outs (Romantic/Comedy) with Soo Ae and "Ducky' from Playful Kiss.

A Man's Story, with the late Park Yong Ha (RIP) and Park Si Yeon from Coffee House.

Couple Or Trouble, (Hong Sister's) Romantic/Comedy with Han Ye Seul of Will Snow for Christmas, and Oh Ji Ho of Chuno, by the way this is one of my favorite Romantic/comedy's of all time!!!!

Hope you can give one of this a try. Enjoy!!!!!!

If I can find the links, Couple or Trouble was already on my list... so that's probably what I'm going to tackle tonight while I'm home alone with my margaritas! (The boys are going out for a Magic Tournament).

I usually like what you like, even if it is for different reasons. :)

Yay! Thank you for your recommendations!!!
