Lol I'm going to have to pick quantity of quality, since the rest of the world that wasn't born in december gets separate presents.

Unless of course Girlfriday decides to lump my birthday and christmas together by packaging Lee Seung-gi in a nice little bow. Then I'll accept!

Happy birthday month to you Hunterbear! :) Brr... Isn't it so cold today?

Um.. you are asking for Girlfriday to give you Lee Seung Ki?! You would be lucky if she doesn't put a lump of coal in your stockings! :p

Thank you! I'm awful with the birthday thing. I do countdowns and remind every single person I know. But yay!! It's december. It's freaking freezing outside. Yesterday too. Windy!! I was trying to walk my dog, and we both half froze to death on our way to the park.

Lump of coal? Pouts. I was thinking more along the lines of Lee Seung-gi with a nice bow. Preferably green. I like green :).

0

We will make sure it is ONLY a green bow and nothing else ;D

0

lessaofpern you read my mind ;). Now I'm going to cross my fingers and hope girlfriday thinks the same way.

0

I'll get you a puppy, which you can name Lee Seung-gi.

Since I call Seung-gi "puppy," you can call your puppy "Seung-gi." It's practically the same thing.

0

there really needs to be a like button. or a LURVE button.. cuz i just LURVE gf's comment. *thumbs up*

0

Practically the same thing? That's like comparing a real person with a blow up doll.

Sigh. It was a worth a shot. On the upside, christmas/birthday present from Girlfriday? Must be my lucky day ;).

0

@ Tangled Aw, that's crap. I was supposed to be born on July 4th (U.S. Independence Day for any non-US people here), which would have meant having my birthday on America's Most Important National Holiday. Every year. Forever. Fug that noise! I came nearly a week early. I was NOT sharing my birthday. Luckily 4th of July isn't a season (unlike Christmas), so it doesn't interfere with the celebration of me. Woot!

Totally with you Lahlita. My doctor was aiming for April 13th as my due date; it's the Thai New Year, Songkran. Ugh. I can't even imagine. I'm gonna come off sounding selfish but no way could I have handled sacrificing my birthday to attend to all the traditional new year stuff. Aren't birthdays the one day you can afford to be a little me-focused?

Just like you, I was like, uh, no and popped out a full week early. It's still a holiday, but a more minor one with no obligations and I get the day off! :D

*peeks over his shoulder* My darling, darling ahjumma-nim, Why are you so mad?! *wounded puppy eyes*
I am only following your wishes and being respectful to you. I mean, you did go to great length to stress that you are sooooo much Older than me, and that I should address you formally. Ahjumma-nim is a very polite form of address! Or, we can go back to me being the didi, and you could be the sweet, noble little sister who suffers her forbidden love for her brother-in-law in silence! Your choice. ;)

p.s. Merong! *Gives Siwon a backhug* :P

Warning: Rant!

Why are people so mean sometimes? Yesterday, this woman came to the computer lab, and started complaining about three people who were working on a project a table away. Apparently their very very low whispering was bothering her. I asked them to please be even quieter, and they very nicely moved three tables away. A few minutes later they actually left the lab, but before they left they said bye to their friends and actually got audible! gasp!

So the woman started berating me about how I wasn't doing my job in keeping people, and she was going to do something about the noise, e.t.c. Lady, the already left! I smiled politely and didn't think much of it.

A few hours later, when I was closing the lab, she started again about how, working in the lab isn't that hard, and if I couldn't do such an easy job maybe it isn't the job for me and that I should be fired. She used such incredibly venomous tones, and she looked so mad that she was practically spitting out the words.

This isn't even the first time she did this. During the summer she yelled at me for five minutes straight, about how I am incompetent, and a disgrace and how I should be fired! Because get this, I laughed with a patron while helping her! She has such a cutting, poisonous tone that it just shriveled me up inside. I cried.
I am friends with all the regular patrons and some even tell me they come to the lab only when I am working. I try so hard to be helpful and nice to everyone. Heck , I even helped her several times with the most basic of computer tasks that even my computer illiterate mother (not lessaofpern) can do! I was extremely patient and polite too I might add.

So, because of this I ended up staying later to close, missed the early train, waited for the bus in 30 degree windy weather for 40 minutes, gave up and walked through deserted streets and finally got home at 12:45 a.m. :(

Phew, I am all better after the rant!! The unicorns roses and sunshine are back! Tra la la Tra lala *skips down to la la land* :)

0

I swear, I'm gonna make my way up North just to have a talking to some of the people who live there! How DARE they talk to my dongsaeng that way! I'd give 'em a what-for they'd never forget! You call me next time and I'll let 'em know just how far they can take that stick that's shoved... okay, I can't say that in front of my little sister.

I'll tell them to go buy some ice cream and have a nice day. Then I'd teleport myself up to that computer library, make you go outside, and physically adjust her attitude.

0

@ Viola You want mommy to take care of her? When you are not on duty, and she is there, I'll put up such a stink that she will never think of returning!!!! All jokes aside *hugs* people like that get me hopping mad. You are such a sweet and RESPECTFUL person. Unfortunately there are a lot of crabby people out there, who aways seem to have their knickers in a twist. They just like to make other people's life miserable because they are not happy themselves. Don't worry, your Supervisor and the other patrons appreciate you :D You also know we all love you to bits, so keep on smiling :D *POOH BEAR HUG*

0

Viola-yah, you've miscalculated. My lust surpasses my pride. Therefore, I will wear my Ahjumma moniker with honor and invoke the right of the elder. Flick away from my Siwon, you dongsaeng, you!

Lessaofpern Mata-ji, you are a good mother, but you can never shield her from the WRATH THAT IS LAHLITA PROVOKED. This is the next step in our epic saga. Now the two sisters must turn against each other, and dis ahjumma is about to be evil.

But before the evil begins...hugs! I'm sorry about that library patroness. Stupid ingrate wench. Don't let her get to you. You're absolutely wonderful, and it's not your fault she was like that. She's unhappy, and unhappy people take no joy in life. Reaffirm to yourself that you are beautiful and loved, and just continue to live your life.

OK, back to the evil: Viola-yah, if you EVER stick your tongue out at me again, I will relieve you of it! You will never merong again.

0

So it begins! The epic saga of two sister divided by the love of one man. Cue O'Fortuna! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP_CSQgBPpQ

Dr Fatimus Act V Scene 1 *looks at a picture of Siwon.*

Was his the face that launched a thousand ships
And burnt the topless towers of Ilium?
Sweet Siwon, make me immortal with a kiss.
……
I will be Paris, and for love of thee,
Instead of Troy, shall Dramaland be sacked;
And I will combat with weak Lahlita,
And wear thy colors on my plumed crest.
……..
For, thou art fairer than the evening air
Clad in the beauty of a thousand stars;
More lovely than the monarch of the sky
And none but thou shalt be my paramour!

Yes, I just compared Siwon to Helen of Troy. :p

*wears a flowing white dress* *Arms held open*

I have implored you, Lahlita my fair sister, to give up your false claims on my rightful husband. But, you, burning in the fires unholy lust have stopped you ears against reason - only the mad light of greed and desire now burn in your once gentle eyes. *tears*

*bows head in sorrow* Since you would not accept the love that exist between Siwon and I, then let there be War between you and I!
*A single perfect tear rolls down face*
:) XD

0

Why is everything bold? Sorry. :(

0

Alright! I love you both dearly, but I'm... actually just going to sit back and laugh my rear off at you two.

No one gets to ask me to take sides in this battle. I ain't choosin' between my sisters.

0

@Viola: :( So sorry you have to deal with some lame-o person. Tell them to Google up some politeness.

0

Viola, you will not yield, little one? You will defy me, I who am your elder? So be it. You. Will. Die.
Cue "Lux Aeterna": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2Ma4BvMUwU

Thou mayst orate from dawn till dusk, indulging in hollow speeches writ for thee by Kit Marlowe, untalented knave. Thou mayst weep thine cinematic tears, but still, thou art ever outmatched. Verily, shall I do epic shit to thee! Siwon loves thee not. He knowest thee not. He cares naught for thee.

Now, Viola, take thine claim back again,
That late thou made to me;
for all who go against me doth fall; their souls
Are but a little way above our heads,
Staying for thine to keep them company:
Either thou, or I, or both, must go with them.

*Unsheathes longsword*

Unni, you're funny. I think it'll be the other way around, now that I've seen Yeppeo-goon. The boy is a child-model cash-cow, and I want my cut. Apparently he's a 6'0"-tall, 14-year-old now, hey? How quickly they grow.

Speaking of cute boys, how has brother-in-law T.O.P. been lately? Still bringing the sexiness?

My baby is doing great... and I think he might actually be 6'1" now. He's working on his science project as we speak... he and his dad are working on anti-gravity... nerds.

My other husband, T.O.P is about to release an album in a little over a week. I'm retardedly excited about the whole thing... although Girlfriday said that it was bad that I still think he's hot even with his new hair.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjkrYP3murI

0

Yeppeo-goon is 6'1"? He was just 5'11" a few months ago! Unbelievable. Shopping for him must be frustrating. When my cousin was 14 he went from 5'9" to 6'5" in a little over a year. His bones were growing so fast that the doctor had to put him on pain medication. My baby spent that entire year in a medicated haze. But he has been at 6'6" for four years now so we think he's done, thank God.

I'm curious about the anti-gravity science project. How are they illustrating gravity defiance? They do sound like total nerds, which is adorable!

0

I never have to shop, boy has eight grandparents who're all sending all sorts of clothing for him once I complained about keeping him in clothing that covers his ankles. I love family.

They're working with this T. Townsend Brown thing called a Lifter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bicra-36fBo&feature=related and people are arguing if it is really anti-gravity or what. I call it anti-gravity 'cause I don't care what it actually is, it just looks cool. I'll see if we can't film it and upload it when he's finished.

Your recaps have been keeping me updated with Secret Garden and Mary Stayed Out All Night. Unfortunately I have had so much to catch up on at school, boo.

And this weekend and next week will be no fun because I have a bunch of papers to write and finals next week. I'm only thankful this semester is practically over so I can finally start watching these two dramas.

But on not so happy Xmas news, my sis refuses to buy me anything from yesasia because they look 'sketch', and none the cds I want are on amazon. Seriously, I will never get my korean indie fix.

But thank you for you recaps!

LOL @ the song title as I was going to say exactly the same thing. Boiler broke down. It is snowing in London. For those who don't live in London, boiler working = hot water and heating. Had to remind myself that I have a broken boiler and that a warm flat and hot water is more important than new shoes. But then remembered I had vouchers for that particular department store which I could use to buy the shoes ... because the vouchers can't be used for the boiler. Score! :P

Maybe you can rig a set-up like MG in MSOAN - now THAT would grant some major kdrama addict cred. I swear, every time they run a scene at his place I mostly focus on the heater set-up. I keep trying to figure out the venting - I'm pretty sure its too long a run for the diameter of the vent, but oh well - its just a drama.

Or you could enter into fake marriage contract and break it in one night after finding out he was just playing around with you to get back at his male, chaebol drama-producing lover. But you're okay with it, because who can compete with all that man-pretty?

0

LOL! this is soo perfect it hurts my sides!

0

I am sure we are all believers here, but if there were any doubts about who is the OTP of MSOAN, I am sure these lovely videos by Diadda will put them to rest ;)

http://www.megavideo.com/?v=TDEVW2DZ

0

NO ONE! no one COULD compete with all that man hotness!!!!! diadda is right, ya'll. let's face it: a girl sometimes has to admit that she'll only EVER come in 3rd! .....also, do we have enough time or operation-seduce-chaebol-and-rocker-then-break-up-at-the-han-river? .....we only have 36 hours!! LOL

0

Because it's K-drama land, the Han river sequence will only take five minutes as a series of longing stares, close-up eyebrow furrowing, and single-tear-rolling-down-cheek shots. The only lines used by all three characters will be a combination of: "how could you?" "I'm sorry" and "stay by my side forever"

Hi chisaicherry,

Not sure if you've seen Mary Stayed Out All Night. If you haven't, please try it. It is addicting! The lead starts JGS and MGY are awesomely adorable! It is now in Episode 7. JB and GF have been generously recapping it here in dramabeans.

I hope you like it!

Cheers!

Hey holidayspirit,

definitely following MSOAN, and digging our main couple, but the rest seems...off to say the least. I guess i'm just waiting on some (more) conflict and 2nd lead heart tugs. Anyways, thanks for the suggestion

~ BTW, your name is awesome

You're welcome chisaicherry. Thanks for the kind words regarding my name. I thought your name is cool too. I'm not sure but is "chisai" a Japanese word?

I was going to suggest "Secret Garden" too and I see others have already done so...Just by reading the recaps from JB/GF, I find this drama very interesting drama. I could not stop laughing :) after reading the yesterday's "spoiler" Article from JB.

Cheers!

happy OT friday, beaners!

the new captions on the new headers (instead of "blogging my kdrama obssession") are amusing. props to whoever put those in. ..... "well, that's dramatic" kind of made my day. :)

so.. in other news, i am NOT feeling christmassy yet, and i've been marathoning Bones for almost 100 hours (not straight, of course....i sleep. and eat. .........sometimes.)
aaaanyway, my point is: BOOTH AND BRENNAN <3

HAHAHA! Almost like the year when I decided to hold an NCIS marathon (after all my finals were done with), beginning from the episode Ziva first appeared. Non-stop watching to the point where I forget about food. XD

But, I wanted to ask if "Beaners" is what we're called now. I mean, I've been going with Dramabeanians, until I saw a post where it said "OTers" or "Open Threaders" (of course, that's for those that come to OT on Friday). Has there been a consensus yet on what we're called? (What? I love nicknames. They're cool. Like TMNT. NCIS. PigRabbit. Eh teh cah.) With Secret Garden on, I'm tempted to call everyone Beanies, in honor of Binnie! XD

the OTers are pretty tight, the people give you a real family feel, but i don'[t know what we're called. as for dramabeans-readers in general, i've been on this site for almost 3 years, 4 years? (WHOA. EVERYFREAKINDAY for ALMOST FOUR years?? what is LIFE. lol) .....and i've always sort of gone with "beaners"....

...on wordpress, jb used to really go by javabeans, and then she sort of transitioned to dramabeans (am i remembering this correctly? anyone? ).... so "beans" wads the common thing.. SO. HAHHAHAHAHAHA what is an impromptu history lesson.

:P...for what that's worth

@ Ani I like Beanies. OTers works too!

But, please, for the love of God, let's NOT call ourselves "Beaners." HAHAHA. My mother would shit a brickhouse if she knew I was going around calling myself a Beaner on the internet (her people are partly Hispanic, although not Mexican). She would slap me into next week. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=beaner

Anyway, I sometimes call Javabeans 'Beanie-unni', so I'm chill with being a Beanie.

Aunty dear, you should be made to take your own medicine! Now imagine it's Daesung, in the mask of Hades whispering hotly in your ears " press the red play button, then the green play button," in the soft, velvet dark.... Now, you know how Jomo felt! :)

P.s. You just smacked into a wall, turn left for the cold shower. :)

O boy! I feel a thing coming on...
.
.
.

I sat straight up in bed, awakened by the sound of beads hitting the floor.

When I looked to the source of the sound, I saw the Gu Yong-ha, hatless.

“But how? How are you here?" I asked, "We are continents and centuries apart.”

“It’s easy in my time machine,” he replied, “ I pressed the red button, and then, the blue button, and it brought us to you.”

“Us? What do you mean?”

I fainted as Moon Jae-shin stepped into the light.

Happy Friday everyone! I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend! :)

I have one more thing to add to Theasianstalker's wonderful "You are a K-drama addict."

*You know you are a K-drama addict if you freak out when your friend says she had a nosebleed. :(

Yesterday, I ran into my classmate in the bathroom, and I asked her why she was so late to class.

Friend: "I had a nosebleed for the past twenty minutes"

Me: " OMG!!!!! Why didn't you tell me you were sick?!! Are you okay?! Omg omg omg!"

Friend: 0_0 it's just a nosebleed.......

Me: *stops hyperventilating* .... You are sooo lucky you don't live in K dramaland!!

My brain had automatically went to nosebleed= cancer mode. I was totally freaked out, especially since I had just watched an episode of Snow Queen. Well, after about 10 seconds of defcon 5, my brain finally remembered that the dry air of winter causes nosebleeds and in the real world it's not a symptom of every single deadly disease!

hahaha lmao! That's hilarious. My friend told me she was going on an arranged date, and I suggested that she take a fake husband along to discourage him.

Sigh. What have dramas done to me?
