Behind the scenes on the set of Athena
by | January 7, 2011 | 48 Comments
I love seeing happy pictures from a serious drama. These stills from the set of Athena: Goddess of War show the cast in a much lighter mood behind the scenes, when they’re not busy running around saving the world. I’m really enjoying the drama thus far, mostly because although it’s the same old spy stuff,... More »

by | January 7, 2011 | 40 Comments
Gong Yoo (Finding Kim Jong-wook) and Jung Yumi (Oki’s Movie) have been cast in the movie Crucible, which is adapted from a novel of the same name by author Gong Ji-young. (I’m not very up on the Korean literary scene, but Gong is a name I recognize, having been recommended to me by a friend... More »

TOP for High Cut
by | January 7, 2011 | 63 Comments
TOP (Into the Gunfire, IRIS) poses for High Cut in a book-nerd-meets-pop-star kind of way, which is to say, kooky and kind of adorable. The hair is still crazy, but it’s strangely growing on me. When he showed up to the Blue Dragon Awards looking like that, I sort of lost my lunch, but maybe... More »

My Princess: Episode 2
by | January 6, 2011 | 243 Comments
Don’t count your chickens before they’ve hatched, but I will concede that My Princess is definitely faster out of the gate. It’s breezy, it’s charming, and…it’s So Purty. But also, I’m surprised by how cute they are. I mean, who knew—stick a Hand Towel in a comedy, and voila…personality! Tags: featured, Kim Tae-hee, My Princess,... More »

The race tightens even further between Sign, Princess
by | January 6, 2011 | 60 Comments
Yowsa, and I thought the race was tight yesterday, with only 0.2% separating the top two dramas. Thursday’s episode narrowed the gap even further, with Sign just barely hanging onto the lead by 0.1% — it pulled in a 17.7% over My Princess‘s 17.6%. What’s even more impressive is that both dramas rose from their... More »

A toast to kick off Chilling Romance
by | January 6, 2011 | 28 Comments
Here’s the first still from the upcoming movie Chilling Romance, which stars Sohn Ye-jin (Into the White Night) as a woman who gains the ability to see ghosts after an accident. Because of her peculiar ability, which she cannot control, her life gets (to say the least) rather complicated. Lee Min-ki (Haeundae) plays a popular... More »

I haven’t been keeping up with the news on Paradise Ranch, but with the drama now set to air in two weeks, it’s time for me to get with the program. Pictured immediately above and below are the latest stills to be released from the production, which feature wedding shots of the lead couple, played... More »

Oh, so cute. WAAAAY better than I was fearing, and Kim Tae-hee is seriously adorable. So if you don’t mind, I’d just like to take a moment to address Madam Girlfriday: MUAHAHA! I WIN! Neener neener, in your face! Okay, I’d better stop now, just in case things take a turn for the worse later... More »

Sign wins (but just barely) in Wednesday ratings
by | January 5, 2011 | 48 Comments
Two new shows kicked off with strong premieres today, bringing in ratings that were just within 0.2% of each other. SBS’s medical investigation drama Sign was the official first-place show with a rating of 16.1%, but MBC’s My Princess was close behind with a 15.9%. On the other hand, KBS’s President dropped from its previous... More »
