Yoo Seung-ho may be playing a few years older than his age in his current drama Flames of Desire (his first adult role), but he goes back to school for his new shoot advertising iRiver mp3 players. In fact, he looks like he’s stepped right out of his 2010 drama God of Study, where he played a wayward high school senior buckling down in a special class to attempt to get into the nation’s top university.
For those viewers of Flames who are currently trying to forget that Yoo Seung-ho is only 17, I’m not sure this ad campaign is going to help neutralize that Inappropriate Crush on a Much Younger Man. Not that that’s a bad thing…
Flames of Desire broadcasts on Saturdays and Sundays, and recently enjoyed a little surge in ratings once Secret Garden bowed out; I think it’s safe to expect its numbers to keep growing from here on out.

Hmm whenever I see stuff like this it kind of makes me mad. 60 year old men date 18 year old women and they call the 18 year old women gold-diggers. 60 year old women date 48 year old men and they call the women cougars.
What about the men? I know this is off-topic but it seriously rubs me the wrong way every single time I see the topic of “being a cougar is ok!” It’s not about “being ok”. Kim Chun Chu rocked. That was the first time I came across an older Yoo Seung Ho, wondering who the heck was he until I realized he was that little bratty kid in 집으로 (Not sure of its English translation but something like To Home or The Way Home). Couldn’t believe all that time had passed so that little jerk I wanted to knuckle ended up growing into a very awesome young actor.

Luckily, these pictures, and the more recent eps of FIYAH where Minjae has a new [younger-looking] ‘do, have pulled me just back from the brink of eternal damnation.
I totally remembered him from Precious Family (부모님 전상서) suddenly after looking at these pictures. Why? I don’t know, it just popped up. BUT Yoo Seung-ho was completely awesome in that show. I wasn’t as interested in kdramas back then, but when I saw him, I seriously thought he was slow. He totally convinced me back then, and look now, he turned out so adorably cute!
He is such a cutie. Even my senior citizen mom thinks he is the most good-looking boy in queen seon Dok. He Also looks like yonsama – a vibrant not boring version of yonsama (see dream high). Anyway, this ahjumma is a big fan of too seeing ho.
I guess that I am getting really, really old because he looks like a young kid to me. I totally couldn’t deal with Flames. There are so many handsome korean actors in their 20′s. It seems absolutely creepy and exploitative to use an underage actor in an appropriate role.
In total agreement that it’s absolutely inappropriate to have cast an underage actor as the husband of a 25 year old actress!
Also in agreement that I must be getting older. Sometime in the past 2-3 years, I went from being able to find young-mid 20-somethings hot to finding such boys too young. So, while I totally think Yoo Seung Ho is very attractive, I think of him as a very attractive boy who’s about to become a young man. Of course, as a teen I would have crushed big time on him, but I who am not a teen look forward to how he’ll mature in 8-10 years.
