Paradise Ranch has released a couple new photos for the drama, which will be halfway through its 16-episode run with this week’s episodes.
The first shows a kiss between Changmin and Lee Yeon-hee; if you’ve seen the series, you’ll recognize the scene from their ill-fated young marriage. (The couple divorces within six months and then meets again six years later.)
The second poster takes a cowboy theme and also includes Joo Sang-wook, who seems weirdly cast as he comes off as a full decade older than the rest, making his presence incongruous with the others. But this poster isn’t so much real Wild West cowboy so much as it is amusement-park-ride-themed cowboy, with the over-the-top costumes and toy props.
The drama has been performing about as well as expected, which is to say not very well, though not quite in bomb territory either — firmly in the 6% to 8% range. It’s about par for the course for this SBS Monday-Tuesday timeslot, though a bit lower than its predecessors by a percentage point or two and still trailing its competitors, who air news in that hour.
I’ve gotten numerous requests (and some demands) for more Paradise Ranch recaps, but I have to tell you that they’re not going to be forthcoming. And, given that I find the show awkward and a little bit insipid, you probably don’t want me recapping them anyway. It’s not as horrible a mess as I was expecting, but there’s just no pull there; I don’t get any captivating energy or emotional tug from it. Sorry to say.

i think except for Changmin’s awkward acting, this drama is not horrible at all, its quite fun to me! Lee Yeon Hee and Joo Sang Wook are adorable.

I’m admittedly biased for Changmin, but I’m still sane enough to say that this honestly isn’t that good of a drama. It’s not bad, really, but totally mediocre. Really, I only fast forward to Changmin’s scenes just to ogle him — and maybe get some sense of why he broke up with Yeonhee.
Changmin’s really just a rookie actor, and it showed. I saw his bit part in Athena yesterday and he has remarkably improved.
For an actress that’s been working for almost a decade now, Yeonhee’s passable. I actually like her a little bit more in roles like hers. The second leads aren’t working for me, either.

Even though I was kinda stunned that they made him give a shout out to dramafever as well..seeing as it’s literally a page where you can watch dramas with english subs FOR FREE…which shouldn’t be what the producer want. (Even though people like me have no other choice…)

Thats a bit harsh. I think dramafever actually acquires licensing for the dramas, so perfectly legal. I must admit the snark isn’t as fun when they respond back, sincerely aswell.

@brainless: Well, you might think so considering he did thank a site that doesn’t even really support his drama that much compared to other dramas. But
a) maybe he’s just being polite, you know, koreans and their manners..
b) I don’t even think he himself was like”OOOOOKAAAAY, I wanna thank THOSE websites 8DDD”…no , seriously, he was TOLD to do it, judging from his english skills I’m pretty sure that IF he were to read this he’d only understand about half of it.
(And I’m not saying that because I think he is brainless, but because english is GENERALLY a difficult language for koreans…like really.)

that’s actually quite funny because Changmin was promoting this series by telling viewers to watch, or i guess read, it on dramabeans. literally. he said it. and here some are, saying they dont think its that great.

Changmin looks hot as hell. He remind me of a younger and taller brother of Won Bin. I hope his acting will improve with experience. Come to think of it, I never did finished watching any dramas that involve with TVXQ, or dramas in general. It’s just that dramas are boring and conventional. Movies are better.
