Yeeeeaaaahhh… I don’t have much to say about Kim Bum‘s “dandy guy” shoot for GQ Korea, other than he’s adorable. But it’s Kim Bum, so what else is new? The guy’s practically built his recent career on simultaneously looking boyish AND all grown-up. (The “grown up” part is a relative distinction; compare him now to, say, way back in the day.)
(The accompanying article/promo material calls his ‘do a “James Dean” inspired hairstyle, to which I say: Pffft. Maybe James Dean in kindergarten on picture day.)

I really like the color combos and the clothes, gigantic mustard bow tie notwithstanding. The hair from the side is vey flattering, but that teddy bear! The shiny brown leather, the noselessness…. it’s… well, it’s just sort of creepy.

Haha! Perhaps the stylist forgot to iron it, or maybe they wanna show a “contrast in texture”? :p
he didn’t like to put the pants on. struggle ensued between him and stylist. pants got crumpled.
I think it was the other way around, if his stylist was a red blooded noona
probably the reason why I wasn’t blessed to become a Korean stylist. I would’ve violated the Kims: Bum and Soo Hyun.
He was doing some strenuous activity prior to this shoot, that’s why the pants are crumpled. Something that requires a LOT of leg/lower body movement.

That bow tie, that shirt, those wrinkled pants…the stylist was out on vacation and someone just stepped in? Only the jacket is nice… James Dean hair needs more grease, slicked back & a certain wave on the front. Kent hair needs a soft sweep in the front with soft hairspray. All this done to Kim Bum and he is still cute/cool tiger-cub.
2nd photo: jacket off… fastfood linen inner shirt off… crumpled pants can work fine with the green shirt.

I was just missing Kim Bum, so what perfect timing! And I get to see his forehead! I was starting to think that there was a conspiracy to keep his hair in front of his eyes in Still, Marry Me (not my fave title for TWWSWTM, but a heckuva lot easier to type!). There were scenes where everything could have been fixed with a simple swipe of his forehead…

Usually it’s more emo/70s hair, a la Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. For most of Boys Over Flowers and Still, Marry Me it’s in that style. It’s only when he becomes evil!Yi-jung in BOF does he discover the joys of hair-gel.
