SBS has decided (again) that it will cancel its Monday-Tuesday 9pm drama slot after all, which it announced (again) this week.
The broadcaster had already made this decision a month ago, declaring that Paradise Ranch would be the last drama in the timeslot, but then contradicted that days later by giving the space to university-musical-department drama What’s Up. Alas, as we now know, that was not to be; SBS soon decided to yank both What’s Up and counterterrorism-at-sea drama Poseidon from their spots on the broadcast schedule.
So after that confusing exercise in indecision, SBS has finally decided that two new programs will occupy that 9pm hour on Mondays and Tuesdays. First, there’s Fun Quiz Club, which will take a comedic tone and be hosted by MCs Kim Yong-man, Jung Hyung-don, and Kim Sook-yi, with plans to bolster its lineup with weekly guests. Then there’s Scene 21, a news magazine show.
Well, no surprise here. Considering I watched most of the shows in that slot, I’ll miss having the extra option, but I feel like the writing’s been on the wall for a while now; I’ve mostly been content just enjoying the extra drama programming while we had it.

give us what’s up!
Hear hear!
Yep Yep!
Now now!
Amen! I wanna see Daesung and all the other lovely peoples!
DAESUNG! DAESUNG! WHAT’S UP! WHAT’S UP!
I don’t know much about broadcasting production, but doesn’t this seem like a bad business move? I mean, wouldn’t you expect more ratings from an action drama with A-list actors like Poseidon than from a news magazine show? Again, I don’t know much, but this seems somewhat counterproductive to me. =/
I don’t know broadcasting either, but if a news show is significantly cheaper, then the station could still net more profit (or fewer losses) than a drama with big name actors. Particularly if that drama has all the expenses associated with an action drama.
However, the decision still sucks because I don’t like it.
What about WHAT’S UP?! Oh man… what the hell..
I will keep on waiting for What’s Up! 왓츠업 화이팅!!!!
임주환님 .. 화이팅!!! 항상 가다릴게요!!
Please someone pick up What’s Up!
Pretty please!
Well, it might not mean What’s Up will be thrown away. Maybe just given a better hour.
SBS airs two dramas on Mon/Tues, so What’s Up might be given a different hour.
Any news about What’s up and Poseidon? Can’t wait to know about their fates. I just hope they don’t become Birdie Buddie v2 and v3. That would suck so much!
So i guess they won’t be airing ‘what’s up’ till later in the year?’ cause the 10 pm slot is currently full. unless they switch shows around so that they can air ‘what’s up’ early. sigh, all i want for them to do is air ‘what’s up’.
man that poster for paradise ranch looks so dumb
Ahh man we only have 2 dramaas options to watch that day now. Then what will happen to Whats up? thats the drama i want to watch the most!
Poseidon and What’s Up join Birdie Buddy in limbo. :\

That photo scares me. D:
i honestly don’t think that Poseidon would be canceled, more like it’s still looking for the right slot etc. but then again, that drama was hyped up for being Eric’s comeback drama wasn’t it? taking too long to air doesn’t help anyone imo
and i agree with most of the comments here, i want What’s Up !!!
the trailer was so promising idek
In america (east coast) tkc/sbs has stopped airing dramas on Mondays and Tuesdays at the 9:50pm slot and they made some announcement ( rudely without subtitles!) I guess this was the announcement. It’s a bit irritating but also great because Sign is now on Thursdays and Fridays and those are usually the dry tv days anyway. This is somewhat frightening because it seems like there will be less dramas per every two months! I am an addict and I require more dramas sbs!
WHAT THE FUCK.
SO NO ERIC?
Can someone please tell me what’s going to happen to What’s Up and Poseidon? Will they be shelved permanently? How can they do that?
I know Birdie Buddy dissapeared off the map – but the only popular person there was Uee, but What’s Up has Daesung and Poseidon has ERIC!
What generally happens in situations like this? Will they have a straight to DVD release or something?
I can’t believe that it’d all just dissapear like that….
