Dear Scheduler’s Union / Grandma on a Harley / Are you there God, it’s me, girlfriday,
I’m writing on behalf of one of your employees, a cheeky young fellow by the name of Yi-soo. He also answers to Reaper Boy, Hottie with a Guitar, Hottie on a Bike, etc., etc. He’s the resident tantrum-throwing Scheduler in District 4, Area 9. If you look in your books under “troublemakers,” I’m sure you’ll find him there.
While I do appreciate your allowing him the time to pick up girls at the community pool, rock out in Hongdae, and do the occasional fashion mag photo shoot, it’s been brought to my attention that he’s been working as a reaper for five years straight with no vacation. That will not do.
I’ve gone ahead and booked him on a Hawaiian cruise, where I will personally tend to his welfare. I know, it’s very big of me. I don’t think it’s asking too much to give him a week’s vacation in between his reaper stint and the sweet hereafter. After all, he’s doing a helluva lot to revitalize the Grim Reaper image you’ve been trying to shake for centuries now. It’s the least you can do.

Can somebody please answer this question for me? I am sorry it if is obvious to everybody but me.
Why did the Scheduler check up the ladies at the pool? I mean, he is invisible to everyone but Ji Hyun – people think she is crazily talking to herself when she (in Yi Kyung’s body) is in fact talking to the Scheduler. Were the ladies at the pool dead or like Ji Hyun having their 49 days to collect 3 real tears?

Ah reaper boy! A few more hours and I’ll be able to watch 49 days again.
As for the deserved trip to Hawaii, please count me in as the Assistant to the Assistant. Promise, I’d be in my best behaviour. I’ll even pay for my own air ticket, hotel room (next to reaper boy, of course, connecting door would be a plus!);

How did I not notice him before all this 49 days stuff? I mean, he was in that horrible YEH drama, but I didn’t feel anything then, but now…holy moly! yummyyy
I beg you to watch Return of Iljimae, you’ll fall in love with him and there’d be no turning back, I swear.
One of my favorite dramas – I loved him in that drama.
OK! Its on my list, but the historical part is keeping me down. I mean, I love history normally, but sometimes in drama form, I get bogged down.
Does the historical stuff drag on or is it bearable in ROI?
I am not Korean, but Joseon/Qing history as presented in RoI resonated with me so much, and it helped a lot that the cinematography and musical score were amazing. Also, IMO, the writer/s weren’t heavy-handed on the history, and focused more on Iljimae and his growth as a person and his relationships–be they romantic, filial or societal, albeit always set against the relevant historical context. It’s fast-paced, too, so every episode contributes to plot progression.
In the end, JIW for me WAS Iljimae, and with a very strong cast, and a coherent, engaging narrative that didn’t go overboard with heavy historical references, I think you will have an enjoyable time.
P.S. And I guarantee, you will never get bored at looking at JIW and his fierce eyes. He was that breathtaking in the role. It’s far from fluffy rom-com (which I prefer under normal circumstances), but JIW is both meal and dessert hehe.
Watch Return of Iljimae, you can’t NOT fall in love with him.

anyways, reaper boy is the type that the more you look on his pics…the more you are enamored with him. So, don’t be looking too much or else you can’t take your eyes off him (thus not being able to do anything else the whole day)….:))
He’s not Yi-Soo is he? Yi-Soo and Yi-Kyung’s Brother. From the looks of the last episode it looked like Mr. Hottie Scheduler was her lover, instead of her brother.
I think the last episode ruled out Yi-soo being Yi-kyung’s brother. Reaper Boy was Yi-soo when he was alive and Yi-soo was Yi-kyung’s lover, because that was not normal sibling kisses during the flashback!
Are we sure? I was under the impression that Yi-Soo and Mr. Scheduler were 2 different people.

It’s not a recap per se. It’s a translation she is doing while watching the live broadcast of the episode. That’s why she abbreviates the names and some words. I don’t know how she does it, but is genius.
