More Yoo Ah-in for Jack & Jill + Nylon

Because we could all use a little more Yoo Ah-in in our day. Need there be another reason? Also, did the title of this post give anyone else math anxiety? It’s a little too math-y for my taste, but that’s the name of the hybrid campaign, so what am I gonna do, rename it?

More stills have been released for Yoo Ah-in’s massive multi-city shoot for fashion brand Jack & Jill and magazine Nylon, much of which was captured for his Launch My Life series on Mnet. Below is the official CF released by Jack & Jill, shot in Vegas and Los Angeles:

I don’t really know what the concept is, other than Yoo Ah-in, Pretty, but then I’m guessing that’s kinda the point. Or at least the main idea, you know, in case somebody tests you on it later. The behind-the-scenes clip below by Nylon shows a little more of his now infamous bad boy personality:

…which (sigh) is kind of his half-baked charm.

i used to be a major fan of his after sungkyunkwan, but his real-life personality was so off-putting, it has tainted his image for me. Did you see the way he treated singer Seo In Young (on his reality show 'launch my life')? Who does he think he is? She even seemed a little taken aback. He's not a cool bad boy, just some punk kid who needs a lesson in manners.

Yes, he is off putting to me now too.

Same with me. There's nothing that says he has to be nice and polite every minute on camera, but there are moments when he's so abrasive it's unprofessional.

It's a pity, cause I really liked him after SKKS. Kinda burst my bubble now.

My admiration for Lee Seung-gi just went up - he seems to balance great popularity and talent with good manners and great attitude.

I soooooo agree!!! Who says personality doesn't trump looks? You could be the most gorgeous person physically, but if you are total a$$ as he seems to be, we don't need more of that!! He goes straight to my anti-fan list.

Oh my goodness! Thank you chingus! It's good to know that others feel the same as I do about YAI after watching some of his 'Launch My Life' show. He was so abrasive that I couldn't even finish the episodes of the show. Such a shame!

I don't know... I saw the first ep of Launch by Life but I didn't really think he was that arrogant...? His personality actually reminds me a lot of my youngest uncle - like Yoo Ah In, when people try to be 'cool' in front of him he laughs in their face, literally. So I guess I'm kinda ... used (?) to his behaviour? I don't know... but I just don't have a massive problem with his attitude.

It's too bad that MNet showed the LA episode first before London Episode on "Launch My Life". The LA episode was shot months after London episode when he first met the PDs and staff which explains why he uses informal language with them and feels carefree. In London episode (ep.3 & 4) he's more reserved. The LML team tried to make him look like a jerk.

I think my friends and I were hanging out in all the wrong places when we visited Seoul. We did NOT see any hot celebrities. I was even scolded for it...

Why were you hanging out in the wrong places? If you wanted to see hot celebrities you should have gone to the ff places:

- Those cheap, rooftop apartments where the poor heroines always end up renting
- Near the Han(?) river
- Really expensive hotel (lobbies?)
- The parlor (to catch the rush of actors/actresses getting their version of the Bieber hairstyle)

Yoo ah-in has an interesting personality. Lol he knows about all the bad rep he's getting. He seems to enjoy it too. Lol he's still cute though. And I agree with him about how he didn't want to be like other actors/idols who are to good in front of the cameras. He wanted to shake things up a bit.

Hmm, my first thought on watching the behind-the-scenes video is that being a model looks incredibly boring. Especially in a shoot like this where they are portraying so much ennui. So, I could never be a model ;) even if I had the looks.

'he has a bad rep?' I second that question. What happened since the drool-worthy performance in sungkyunkwan?? So lost...

His "bad personality" is really because he's a really blunt person. Most actors will go the "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all" route while he just lets it all out. I really admire him for this even though I can't like it 100% because I do think there is value in holding back to be polite and sensitive.

Geo-roh seems rough on the outside, a softie on the inside. Yoo Ah-in seems soft on the outside, but is a rough person on the inside.

I wish he would do another drama instead of going with the reality show route.

I really don't think he's got the "bad boy" personality, per se but he's definitely unlike other actors. This boy is blunt, witty, and quirky. His real personality is quite refreshing and interesting ... esp. when compared to his cutesy-boy-next-door roles.

I like him. He's got potential.

Speaking as the mother of a teenager:
Yoo Ah-In is so young. It is too bad that his management doesn't shelter him and guide him more. It must be very hard for any young actor to handle so much attention. I guess he needs to be out and about for his career. But...it is really a shame that he can't just concentrate on his acting.

I don't think we can judge someone by a mere episode of LML, especially LML episode 1 part 1. You gotta see the whole episode to know him. People said he's being jerk to Maxine and his staff, but they even haven't watched the part where he defenses Maxine and his staffs. He's not perfect for sure, but he's got some good sides too as a person.

Where are all the news when he secretly came to nursing home early this year to join fans charity event which took them by surprise?

Where are all the news when he gave clothes to his film crews/staffs as present since the temperature being cold at night when filming his movie early this April?

Everyone loves bad exposure, apparently.

I loved all the clothes from the CF's (what does CF stand for, btw? I'm guessing it's the equivalent to ads / advertising here in America?). Jack and Jill has a very clean and classic look. I think that they chose the right spokesperson for this line. Yoo Ah-In looks amazing / fresh as always!

don't get me wrong... i'm not saying i'm in favor of his rude behavior and that being rude is better than being 'fake' to the camera is better, but i think that we should acknowledge the fact that he isn't putting a show in front of the cameras and the reality is that's the real him. he's not like the other actors and singers who put on a personality for the camera while its on and are 'polite'. to be honest, i prefer him like this, doesn't mean i like him more because of it, but i think he's brave to be honest infront of the camera (unlike most korean celebs)
