Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the stars of the upcoming romantic comedy film You’re My Pet, featuring a highly anticipated noona relationship between leads Kim Haneul (Road No. 1) and Jang Geun-seok (Mary Stayed Out All Night). And yup… they look ADORABLE together.
Kim Haneul’s a busy girl, just having wrapped her thriller Blind, where she played yet another noona to a hot younger man. Thankfully though, I don’t think her relationship with 17-year old co-star Yoo Seung-ho was the same noona-dongseng relationship as the one she’ll have with Jang Geun-seok.
She’ll be playing a socially awkward career woman who is successful at all things but love, and for reasons not quite resembling Earth Logic, she’ll be adopting Jang Geun-seok as a pet. ‘Cause you know… if you can’t find love, you buy a pet? Or something? Most people just get a cat and call it a day. I’ve never heard of buying a dude. Well not, yunno… like THAT.
Kim Haneul will be guesting on 1 Night 2 Days, and then returning to film the rest of the movie. So, she gets to be noona to Yoo Seung-ho, Lee Seung-gi, AND Jang Geun-seok… all in one month?

Yeah, pretty sure Jang Geun-seok is going to rock this. He’s got the perfect blend of cuteness and petulance to be adorable and bratty and hot, all at the same time. I am sure he will give Matsumoto Jun a run for his money, even though MatsuJun is super awesome.
I liked the Japanese version, but was vaguely creeped out by the concept, especially since the guy sort of compromises his personality to fit into her life, rather than a give-and-take. Which is a nice gender reversal, because the reverse scenario would be flat-out disturbing, and you do see other versions of the reverse in lots of dramas, but… yeah. Also it didn’t help that there wasn’t a whole lot of steam-the-pants-up chemistry between the leads- more of a comfortable best-friend vibe that made the love story not quite as believable.
Anyway, I am looking forward to this! We’ll see how they do.

I really enjoyed Kimi wa Petto, because of Kato Koyuki who’s a seasoned actress, and I suppose back then, MatsuJun was the new young hot thang so the was halfway done. Also the whole older woman theme was still sort of unconditional, but don’t know if it is still now. It’s kind of been beaten to death by both j and kdrama.
I’m not bothered by his hair but rather by the wimpy/girly image he carried with him from Mary, especially like many have already commented, when he’s still styled with the same hair from the drama. I like the edgy and manly him in Beethoven Virus, I think his attitude there matched better with how “Momo” was supposed to be. Kind of like a puppy, but still a little rebellious and manly.
