Lee Dong-wook’s comeback drama with Kim Sun-ah

Lee Dong-wook (Partner) isn’t even out of the army yet, and already he’s got a new drama lined up: Scent of a Woman, an SBS weekend series that will star Kim Sun-ah (City Hall) as his leading lady.
The plot: The main character is an unmarried 30-something woman named Lee Yeon-jae (spinster seems so passé, but it’s the term used to describe her) who works as a minor clerk and suffers life’s indignities with fortitude. When she receives word that she only has six more months to live, she decides to live the rest of her life happily, turning in her resignation and leaving for a vacation of luxury. Lee Dong-wook plays Kang Ji-wook, who falls in love with her.
Lest this sound too dreary a topic in the vein of melo-tearjerkers like A Rosy Life, it comes from the writer-director duo Noh Ji-seol and Park Hyung-ki, who worked on the breezy, slice-of-life drama Dr. Champ last year. I really, really hope it’ll go for an uplifting tone, rather than one full of angst, although I’m sure we’ll get plenty of that, too. ‘Cause while both leads are great dramatic actors, they’re also both strong comedic forces, and it would be a shame to miss out on that. Still, it’ll probably be wise to get the tissues ready, when he realizes he loves her and she realizes she has to tell him she’s dying. (If she leaves him cruelly because it’s “for his benefit,” I will howl and throw things.)
Interestingly, most of the 20 episodes will be filmed in Australia. Lee enlisted in August 2009; his planned military discharge date is June 20, while Scent of a Woman is set for a July 16 premiere. Eep! That gives him almost no resting time before he gets right back to work — he’ll join the filming team right away and will fly from Korea to Australia the day after his release.

he's really rockin' the younger-men deal mannnnnn. plot seems potentially melo-heavy but i'll keep a positive eye (and feeling) since it IS Lee Dong Wook and Kim Sun-Ah :D

i've just been waiting & waiting for kim sun ah to do another drama, movie, anything. have so missed her. can't wait to see this drama. what's the scoop on her taking on this drama. i have read none of the other r&/r i was so excited, so excuse me if this has already been addressed.

I jumped out of my chair with happiness after reading the title. And then I read that Kim Sun Ah's character has only 6 months to live. Boo. =(
Why........ahhhhhhhhh. Maybe they'll undergo a quick plot change before? =D
I hope there's a meatier plot because these are two great actors who deserve a good story.

It's intersting that this post come after the post about Lee Da hae. Took me back to 'My Girl' days(second kdrama I watch after full house).
It's great to see him back soon. But will he has enough energy to film right away? He better sleep day in and day out for some days before going for filming. Will this be a tearjerker drama? Hope not so much.
Offtopic:I see there's a lot from Melbourne here. It is indeed cold here now. And it's not even winter yet. I also hope they will film in Melbourne so I can stalk.

I'm sure LDW, as an actor, thinks that 18 months in MS is plenty resting time. Now, I can't wait to see him all fit and pumped up for this role.
As for Suna, in her last movie, she plays a terminally ill mother and has shed more pounds for that role. Another "dying" role?

Maybe it will be a case of mistaken diagnoses like the beginning of what's up fox? I would hate for another "90 days, time to love" type drama (that was so... ugh and a real waste of the leads, imo) From experience it seems that summer dramas usually veer towards happy endings no?
Nevertherless, can't wait for LDW to come back!! And the fanservice topless scene to prove his new "real man" status. mwhahaha.

He's one of my favourite actors. I've just watched "My Girl" and he was extraordinary there. I kept thinking that Lee Da Hee in "My Girl" resembles a little Kim Sun Ah from "My name is Kim Sam Son (such a great seria!!!) and I thought "how would it be if LDW would play with KSA??? And now....they play together!!!!!!
