I am so sad because it seems nobody is watching Manny and I like it a lot. I think it is refreshing. Not a complicated plot and good acting from the kids. Please I would like to know what others think about this drama.
Manny looked really cute and from the 1-2 episode recap here, I want to watch it. I think it just got pushed aside because of all the other Trendies that are out.

OKAY. So I am totally hooked onto Best Love – sorta bad considering I should be studying for finals…. AHHHH.
Anyway, concerning Best Love, the ship wars are already starting, I feel. I’ve just proved that once again I am 100% on the OTP ship. I can’t get over how Jin is so in love with Aejung. It just kills me. So heartwrenching to watch. GAH. But I feel bad for Piljoo. But, just, sorry, son, try again next time.
Someone commented on ep 4 recaps that the reason they ship the main couple is because the OTP guy always sees the girl for who she is- like ALL sides of her personality. AND YES. YES, THAT IS WHY I SHIP THE OTP TOO!!
The main lead ALWAYS sees all sides of the female character. Whereas a lot of the times, you’ll see that the female character may end up fawning over the second male lead, just as we may, but because she has a huge crush on him, she tries to put out her best face whenever she sees him, you know? There are so many examples of this.
What comes to mind first is Hotaru no Hikari (if you’ve seen this Jdrama, excellent, if not, I definitely recommend it!!). A lot of people were upset because they were second male lead shippers. But honestly you had to have known from the start that that relationship wasn’t going to work out. Only Buchou saw ALL sides of Hotaru – her lazy, himono onna side, her silly sides, her serious work side, her elegant day at work side, everything. But Makoto (I think that’s his name) only saw that one side of her from work. He was unaware of everything. And that’s why the Hotaru-Buchou relationship worked out… since Hotaru is able to BE HERSELF in the relationship.
What all these dramas are teaching us that, in the end, we should choose the guy who makes us be ourself! You should never have to change yourself. If he doesn’t love you for who you are, then he’s not the one! Love is not meant to be forced. And if you’re stretching yourself to make it work, then it is not the one.
Just what I wanted to say. UGH. Jin-Aejung hysterics are killing me..
I really like that you said this! I completely agree with you! You should always go for the guy who brings out the best possible you, even if that means he sees everything about who you are… that way there’s no pretending when you’re home, where you should be at your most relaxed anyway. If you have to constantly impress someone, then the relationship will always have all this pressure that you have to operate under and then you go crazy.
Also… I love Jin-Aejung. *shrugs*
This is also proven by the insane amount of dramas where the OTP are involved in a living together situation. When they have to share the same space, then they’re going to have to see all sides of each other – even ones they didn’t really want to know about. So when their romance starts budding, we all know the OTP is going to win out the second male lead.
That’s why the second male lead is never involved in such situations with the female lead….

LMAO, I was reading what you wrote and completely agreed with everything, and ended up agreeing even more when you made the HnH parallel (it just happens to be my favorite Jdrama of all time).
I adore how Jin reacts to Ae-jung, and I’m really curious about what will make her eventually fall for him as well. Right now it’s really difficult for me to imagine it, because she’s a lot more concerned about her carreer than her love life…
But it’ll be great, I just know it.
Yeah! Thank you! As much as I like Piljoo’s character (sucker for nice guys), but, really, I don’t think I could ever bring myself to support his ship.
And you’re right. I think this is the reason Aejung isn’t even majorly crushing on Piljoo (even though I probably would be) – she’s so focused on her career. Liking somebody is the least of her concerns. And add a little bit of dense-ness to her (but at least she’s not infant-like in her dense-ness like some people, cough Go Minam cough). We just need to give it time. And SO LOOKING FORWARD TO AEJUNG AND JIN TOGETHER!!
Maybe Piljoo will end up being mean to her nephew calling him “fat” or something. You know how he means no harm doing that, but pointing out stuff (like the high heels bit) will be obnoxious and probably hurt the kids heart.

Yeah, from now on AJ is pretty much always going to be on her best behaviour around Pil-joo while she is probably going to get a lot more testy with Jin. And that is just going to make me even more on the OTP ship.

I am going to use this as a header comment and do sub comments for specifics. I find it works better this way so people can focus on the drama of choice and comment on it without having to read a book!
I am so loving Can You Hear My Heart.
But I just can not understand why Dong Joo and Mom and Joo Ha aren’t working together a bit more. They have a serious enemy in “Grandpa killing” Step-Dad. They need to stop the in-fighting and focus on getting control of the company back. The writers are a bit stupid with creating that in-fighting. It would be more interesting to have the three of them working together against the common enemy.
I think, more than the storyline, the actors/actresses are doing a great job. I so love Daddy Young Kyu! Jung Bo Suk is doing a fine job portraying Young Kyu. It’s not easy to portray a person with mental deficit on a continual-consistant basis. Grandma Soon Geum is a trip with always wanting to squat down on the ground instead of sitting. That character is a bit grouchy and negative which balances her son’s easy-going manner.
I have to say that the “Bowl Cut” on Woo Ri really was a bad choice. It hides her face so much and makes her almost too child-like where you can’t take her seriously. And her lack of wardrobe is killing me. I mean that bright blue sweater with the white collar needs a serious break from filming!!!
I think my favorite scene this week was when Dong Joo and Woo Ri were at the piano and she was desperately trying to get his memory back by playing the same notes over and over again. Almost like that is all she could remember but was faking it. And Dong Joo found her so hilarious he had to cover his face with his hand so she wouldn’t see him laughing. That whole scene was endearing, like they were still childhood friends.

Of course I know MR/JH will not get the girl, and will end up with that beautiful cosmetic chemist, so that is OK.
He will end up needing WR to bridge his present and past; she will be the healing force (if a force can heal) in his life. He is beautiful beautiful and sad sad. I HATE the mom with all my vertebrae.
And Dong Ju-ah is a nice prize, I guess, but they are making him look too ethereal. I want him to look more human. More touchable.
NO NO NO. 4D Cosmetic chemist needs to be with Seung Chul~ Please… please drama gods. Give Lee Kyu Han a lady. (She did drunk dial him, and I am soooo getting my hopes up here.)
I think Dong-joo hates his Mom and it’s deserved because she’s always treating him poorly. Mom wants to be nice to Joo Ha so she can stab him in the back later, probably doesn’t want Dong-joo getting too attached to his brother…
But yeah I’m enjoying it… actually isn’t it nice for once that someone is poor and wearing the same clothes?

Hi! I saw your linky below and it was hilarious. I didn’t respond because I don’t have an answer. I did a Bing translation on the comments the person who posted it made and it came out “Hyundai marine & good & good children’s CI insurance”. My guess is it’s for the children’s insurance.
I’ve been so busy today, that it wasn’t until “nap time” that I was able to start OT’ing. And then “the boy” woke up early from nap, we proceeded have snack, make strawberry cup cakes and that was the end of that until Daddy came home. “The men” are now gone to visit one of my hubby’s clients to install some computer equipment that was delivered today. I’ll have to stop again to make dinner here soon.
But I decided, starting tomorrow, I will use Word to type my comments as I go and then upload them on Friday, which will give me more time to read and respond to everyone else’s comments.
Regarding CYHMH, I actually like the character, Lee Seung Chul. He’s quirky and cute! But he will never get the girl either.
I love CYHMY as well! Can’t wait for this week’s episodes!! Oh and regarding WR’s wardrobe, I think it makes the drama and WR’s situation a little bit more realistic though. Her not traipsing around in an endless variety of clothes/bags/shoes (SG anyone?) makes me like this drama even more . And I agree that Seung Chul needs to end up with that 4D doctor!!
Anyway, I think DJ is kind of fed up with his mom’s constant control or worries, which makes him want to distance away from her. He wants his mom to step away because he wants to be an ‘adult’ now and handle things on his own without her overlooking everything. Or maybe, he wants to be the one to ‘take down’ his step-dad, since he watched the murder?
Either way, Can You Hear My Heart is an awesome-possum drama!!
Now, I’ll comment on Tdrama Drunken To Love You.
It’s definitely not the same feel as Fated To Love You. In “Fated” (as I shall call it) there was an instant chemistry between main lead characters Cun Xi and Xin Yi, you could feel them starting to learn and grow about each other from the beginning. They were young, fresh and teachable.
In “Drunken” (as I shall call it) Jie Xiu and Xiao Ru are older, settled in their respective careers, a bit jaded on life, and set in their ways.
Jie Xiu is a perfectionist only wanting the best for his clients dealing in a world that tries to “cheap” it’s way through. He loves a woman who is very self-centered and seemingly a pathological liar. She, Ai Wei is an actress who must to appear squeaky-clean to the world. This ends Jie Xiu’s relationship with Ai Wei.
Xiao Ru is a restaurant worker, who is planning a trip to Las Vegas, NV to get married. Unfortunately, her perspective spouse, Yi Xiang, apparently wasn’t very careful in a previous relationship, which results in a pregnant ex-girlfriend. This ends Xiao Ru’s relationship with Yi Xiang the day of the trip.
So our jilted main leads meet, drink, and be married! Allegedly there are hi-jinks to ensue, but frankly it’s just not that funny. We should have been able to see some of the seriously drunken moments alluded to, other than a few out-takes. Yes, there have been some laughable moments, but not as many as there were in “Fated’s” first three episodes.
I don’t feel a chemistry between the leads, Joseph Chang and Rainie Yang, say like when Rainie Yang and Mike He acted together in Devil Beside You or Why Why Love. Rainie even had more chemistry with Show Luo in Hello, My Sweetheart (talk about ugly “Bowl Cut!”).
Everything thus far just feels tired. The main lead characters are mopey and moody. Even Zhong Xin Ling who was in the original “Fated” and now “Drunken” seems unable to pep it up.
It’s just starting out of the gate, Episode 4 comes out this Sunday, and I hope that things pep up, speed up and somehow some drama “life” gets breathed into the show. Because so far, I am unimpressed.

I will eventually watch this just ‘cos Thomas Price is in it. His acting is pretty good in Amphetamine. He is a gorgeous Chinese mix Brit. Good luck to Tom!

Mini rant: I need prayers, seriously, now, for this bride to cancel all of the fittings for a few days. I have the stomach flu and she’s NAZI bride insisting I still show up for hours tomorrow and avoid puking on anyone. I know the wedding is two week’s away, but I’m sick and I need sleep, not to be up all night fixing little things that will make her crazy if she sees them. If I cancel, she’ll go into orbit, but IF it is her idea to cancel and re-schedule (for say, Tuesday, would be perfect), then all will be well. Here’s hoping … and a note to myself, NO MORE WEDDINGS FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
