Lie To Me: Episode 12 Open Thread

EPISODE 12 WEECAP

At the Jeju resort, Jae-bum arrives to declare himself lost without So-ran, who’s moved by his admission that her departure sparked suicidal thoughts. Peas in a pod, these two. They think they’re Ike and Tina, but they’re really Spencer and Heidi.

Lurky Yoon-ju calls Ah-jung for a drink and tells her all about why she broke up with Ki-joon the first time and asks if Ah-jung knows what it feels like to have your first love stolen from you by another woman. Oh god, are they really going this route to make Ah-jung feel bad? Okay then.

Ki-joon comes clean about his marriage lie (again) to Chairman Chen, only this time he believes him. Chen walks out of the deal and starts chatting up Great Hotel instead, and this is our Big Conflict for the rest of the hour. Yeah, it’s just as exciting as it sounds.

In cuter news, Ki-joon and Ah-jung start dating like a real couple and he calls them a needle and thread, which might be a cuter metaphor if one of those things weren’t stabby. They do coupley things that go duly noted by a sulky Sang-hee and a bitter Yoon-ju, but at least the former is more mature than the latter and tells her to Let. Go. Already. Dammit. So the older brother got the brains, and the younger brother got the balls?

Ki-joon finally musters the wherewithal to cut ties with Yoon-ju, explaining things in terms of Fate. Because of Fate, he loved someone he shouldn’t have loved, and had to break up with someone he couldn’t bear to break up with. So Fate is doing shit you don’t like? He tells Yoon-ju it’s her turn (to obey Fate, or do shit she doesn’t like, same diff), and declares that he loves Ah-jung. Ooh! And also, errr what? This couple is totally trying to sell the love angle, although I’m only seeing lust. Not that lust is bad. Kang Ji-hwan and lust? I am there. It’s just…let’s call it what it is, shall we?

Ki-joon surprises Ah-jung at home with a meet-the-dad ambush, which are two terms you’d think he’d be wary of putting together. Dad sizes up the boyfriend in the traditional Korean way: Drinky duel! Shots, glasses, and bowls of soju later, both men pass out and then insist they won in the morning.

Now it’s Aunt’s turn to change her mind (again) and push Ki-joon towards Yoon-ju, ’cause conveniently, her congressman stepdad happens to be chummy with Chairman Chen, and they need his association to save the hotel. Aunt is totally giving me whiplash — I like Yoon-ju! You can’t marry her! Wait, never mind! I’m not telling you to marry, just get in good with her! This is business, not personal!

The stress of hearbreak sends Yoon-ju to the hospital, because this writer has been watching way too much Sam-soon and thinks this is adequate conflict. Aunt orders Ki-joon to her bedside, and he goes, but she thinks he doesn’t, and gets all pissy.

Ah-jung is put in charge of a tourism event/traditional cultural performance which is selling poorly, then all of a sudden sold out. She’s proud of herself until she sees Ki-joon sitting there in a mostly-empty theater, and guesses he intervened. Bicker, bicker, make up.

Aunt gives Ki-joon one last chance to get in good with Yoon-ju’s stepdad and sets up a dinner. Ah-jung’s feeling crappy because her boss has found out about her marriage lie and warns her not to mess up again. So Ki-joon’s big decision: Business or love? Ah-jung or Yoon-ju?

We’re not really surprised by his choice, are we?

But still I don't say I hate Lie to Me, in fact I love it. I'm little bit down about this episode too but still this drama is not yet that finish it just about to end, we don't know that we might be shock in the last 4 episodes left, so no prediction yet. We might be little bit down by this episode but in the next episode, you don't know what will happened, just like in the first few episodes many people are so disappointed to Lie to Me but they able to pull up watching it by episode 8, so don't give up yet complain when the drama is ended, that's only the time you can say something on the drama. You're just encouraging some people who are not yet watching this to not watch this anymore.

Ok, there's something that has been bugging me for sometime about this drama. Can someone please enlighten me with facts about Korean dressing? I just don't get the stylist and his/her choice of wardrobe.

I mean, seriously, in one earlier episode, Ah Jung only wears a shirt and nothing else underneath! (Or at least that was what it looked like) And why would she wear something so informal to do a presentation to international guests in ep 10? Wouldn't a suit be de rigeur in major events like that?

And don't get me started on the hair! YEH's hair colour is such a loud colour right now, and we are supposed to take her seriously as a civil servant? What possessed the stylists to give her a haircut with the new fringe that makes her look so dorky?

Am I just really not with it when it comes to fashion?

Err....not drama speaking. However are we legally allowed to comment on someone's dressing at work?

I mean it's not formal true but legally I don't think management can say something about it right?

Her hair is not loud.Try coming to work where your colleagues have purple hair.Or green highlights.Or tricoloured hair (now that is common).Oh btw I work in a government department that has a lot of contact with the public. We can't tell someone off.I mean everyone is a professional.

you talking Korea here. land of peer pressure. There no way someone of her status would be allowed to get away with not wearing what she is 'expected' to wear. It would not need any law or rule to enforce this, just group pressure, and if she still didn't bow down she likely find herself working in the basement counting stamps in the dark. But of course this is k-drama land so she can wear whatever she wants and dye her so to pretend she is Jang Nara from ten years ago..lol if she did it right maybe the show will get better rating..

@ck10z, sorry but I think you're totally missing the point of these comments. If we are not commenting about the drama, then what ARE we commenting on?

@bjharm, thanks. Just what I needed to know regarding Korean culture. Guess you are right, she is supposed to be anti-establishment hence the fashion sense. Thanks for enlightening me. ;)

I really love dramabeans and respect the opinion. I respect their taste eventhough I disagree with them sometimes.

But this weecap thing is getting ridiculous. I meant the comment section. It's not doing any good - not constructive or anything. Perhaps ita better if db let this drama go.

Ok, before posting some comments, I would really like to make myself clear to avoid some misunderstandings.
I am fan of Lie to me. I mean I really-really like it. However, I also do really like the weecaps veeeery much, cause its just what we all loved in this place. Being witty, with plenty of humor, and no fear to express any kind of opinion.
That being said, I want to state that I (1) Neitther have problem about javabeans and girlfridays opinion about Lie to me (cause its THEIR own goddamn opinion in THEIR own site who THEY made popular, because THEY say what THEY think and like ) and (2) I have neither any problem with people that bash "Lie to me" cause (a) everyone is entitle to an opinion and (b) I cannot act like a policeman in a blog that its NOT mine.(If something is bothering me, I just don't pay attention to it.)
My game, my rules.Their game, their rules. Simple as that.

What I really want to say, is what I find paradox about the whole negativity that "Lied to me" have received. I, too, find flaws (I don't consider it as the best drama ever) that happened to be (at least for me) unnecessary storylines of older people, too much screen time of secondary characters, etc, but yet, I find the characters way more humanly than in many other drama. For sure its not nothing that we have never seen before, neither is something extraordinary good. But its as good as an average rom-com could be.
I don't find any extraordinary wtf (or any extraordinary at all) twists or scenes in this drama, either. At least not that much that would make me dislike or get bored to it . The Lie happened for normal reasons, the lead couple struggled with their feelings smoothly and almost, I say almost, all the relationships made sense. At least for my POV

The reasons of the negativity problem (as how I see it) is those:
- Bad ratings. I have seen waaaaaaaaay worst dramas (acting-wise, plot-wise, popularity-wise), and yet the negativity wasn't that high. For example, Boys over flowers was a baaaad plotted drama, yet, it had receive zero negativity, at least compared to ''Lie to me", and compared to the ''love'' that it received.
- ''Follow the majority''. Its a know phenomenon that many people follow the majority. Sometimes they agree, but they never bother to comment or express their opinion, because "its not a trend to do it", at least for that drama, and other, ''have'' to follow that idea, because... most of people do... they should be right, right?
- Prejudice. If so many people say its bad, then its bad. ("Omo, omo, Javabeans doesn't like it, if she doesn't, it should be crap, right?" -> no offence javaneans, I adore you :)).
I admit that I have done it myself lots of times. I didn't want to watch "world's within" (even if Binnie was in it), cause i have read some bad reviews (waste of talent, boring drama) and when I gave it a try, I really sweared to myself of being so foolish.I realised that I trusted someone's taste, instead of mine. (For the record, I found worlds within so realistic, heartwarming and humanly, that really made me ''feel'' together with the characters).
- Prejudice while watching. Having heard or read all the bad comments, people rarely pay attention to the actual developments in one drama. Its not an assumption, its a fact.
- High expectations and sadness about the critical reception of a drama. Take as example ''My fair Lady''. In every category, it was way more inferior than Lie to me. Plot, acting, popularity. Yet, even if it DID really get negative comments, it wasn't as much as it is for ''Lie to me''. Why? Because Lie to me has BOTH Yoon Eun Hye and Kang JI Hwan (Oh hawtness) ! And after the My fair lady failure, people desperately wanted a Drama for Yoon Hey, to be such a big hit.

All of them together make ''Lie to me'' a boxing practise bag, a scapegoat.

Well, that's my rant. Its a little bit nosensial about what this has to do with the weecap, but I just want to say it ;p . After all, its an open thread about the drama, right?

I d love if people won't get angry with the ''negative'' commenters cause its just their own opinion in a blog that is personal, and not forum-like.If Dramabean's bloggers have no problem with that, why should we? Let the girls handle this blog, as they know best, and as they like.

The only think I really have to ''fight'' about with Javabeans is Kang Ji Hwan. ♥

Hi Aphrodite! I just wanted to say I like what you wrote and the way you wrote it. At one time or another I have thought about some of the "negativity problems," not specifically related to Lie to Me, but to dramas in general and you made some excellent points.

I love what you said about "prejudice." There are dramas that I have watched or haven't watched based on the opinions of others and I think it's important to remember that everyone has their tastes and what one person loves, another hates, as evident by the passionate responses here. I like Lie to Me but I don't love it. I don't think it's nearly as bad as people say but it isn't the best drama I have seen. I'm enjoying it for what it is. Those are my own personal, albeit brief feelings about Lie To Me and I understand people are going to differ in that opinion.

And your rant wasn't at all nonsensical :)

high expectation and over hype has lead to disappointment simple as that for many I would say. I like LTM it funny and cute and there the FF button when dealing with the side plots. But it not a drama I would bother if I missed an episode every now and then either.

Yes, although I commented in Lie to me, I guess it apply in other cases as well.
That's what you said. Taste. Which is an important factor of how people see things. For many people, the most important is too see the leads ''fall in love''. Okay, its for me too, but I also like , in a first place, characters with flaws. Everyday flaws. I really liked the reason why AJ lied. Her pride was hurt. The one that stole my crush, is making fun of me being a spinster?

Yes, its not the best drama I have seen, either. Its not even the best rom-com I have seen. But I also think its not as bad as it appeared to be based on comments.

Thank you!

@ JB, GF and Santa Clause
Please get a "Blogging 101" book first thing tomorrow so we can all be spared your BLATANT DISRESPECT towards your readers! Your lack of interest in "Lie To Me" is glaringly obvious so please stop this FARCE of a WE-CAP/Open Thread—it's making me wanna puke!

YES, we all get it loud and clear; it's your blog blog blog and you'll blog or not if you want to; BUT, where will your blog be if not for your readers?

@Enuff
Yes, I agree with you all the way; JB, GF and Santa Clause, do us all a favor—Just drop "Lie To Me" altogether!

@ To all the negative commentators:
Who is forcing you to watch "Lie To Me?" Is someone holding you hostage to watch?
Note: Stop being influenced singularly by this blog; the writers (JB, GF and Santa Clause) have obviously lost their objectivity...

As a reader, I felt that JB, GF and even Santa did not disrespect their readers. I actually think that by being truthful in stating their real feelings and thoughts about dramas is more respectful rather than just catering to a drama's fan base.

I am one of those viewers who had dropped this drama (watched 'til Ep 9) but still curious if the drama had picked up or not. I like YEH. CP is one of my all time fave kdrama.

And just FYI, there are some dramas that JB & GF did not like but I liked and vice versa. Just so nobody accuses me of following DB blindly. :P

I'm a reader and I respect her opinions. I also happen to dislike LTM but I also dislike CH whereas they love it, but I don't happen to say "WHY JB WHY?!" .___.

You tell her to stop watching it, you see its a bit tricky; if you one day tell her "you hate LTM? WHY DON'T YOU JUDGE AFTER WATCHING IT?" So she does but someone's like "WHY ARE YOU WATCHING IT?"See where I'm going with this?

Amen to Aphrodite's comment.

@Respect Your Readers: You can say many blahs as you want but the bottom line is:
It’s HER blog, it’s HER opinion, she can express however she wants it- cos y’know, it’s HER blog. Yet people come here to HER blog to complain to HER about HER opinion, seriously?! Grow up.

I said it before, and I'll say it AGAIN:
a) Some people might not watch it, but they value, trust and are amused by JB and GF’s opinion and weecap.
b)There’s NO denying that the script is lacking/crap, people have the BRAINS to say “oh yeah wtf is going on?”
c) They might not like LTM or stop watching it, but like me, I’m curious to know what is going on, “has it gone any better?” because like me – we are ALL Yoon Eun Hye fans, we want to know how she’s doing in the drama, and will trust on JB’s and GF’s reviews even if it is a weecap, cos y’know we love HER blog ._.
d)People need to distinguish between what is criticism and what is down-right bashing. JB and GF have never bashed the actors or their acting, never said anything discriminating against them. They’ve expressed their dislike/lack-thereof on the script and direction.
e)There are MATURE people who likes LTM and find JB's weecap amusing. And there are those who share SAME opinion about the drama & come here to echo the same feeling.

In conclusion, stop taking this seriously. Reviews & opinions are up to the blogger and the author, therefore stop reading DB if makes you upset.

@apple

How about you stop repeating yourself—copying and pasting? Didn't you post that same comment prior?

BTW: You obviously failed to get my POINT so please read what I wrote again! Thanks :)

I disagree with you.
YEAH,Its their blog. This blog was made to recap dramas in their own ways (and give us some news), and this is what they do.
If they feel like they need to make fun of it, let them be.
I am not expecting from someone to like what I like, neither to comment only what I want in the way I want.

If the readers, their readers, disagree with their decision, they will stop reading. Simple. I m sure Javabeans and Girlfriday, they thought about it before you pointed out.

Actually the eps. in 11 & 12 are really sweet. It's romantic and it's trying to show the other side of KJ. I love it when he try to control AJ esp. when tearing up the contract. And I love it when he's being honest of trying to put the relationship on the right track when telling the Chen the whole truth of the phoney marriage. I love it when he tried to court AJ properly. I adored when both lovebird can't help missing each other. And I can't help liking that both of them really work hard. For me really, there's nothing not to like about LTM.

The stress of hearbreak sends Yoon-ju to the hospital, because this writer has been watching way too much Sam-soon and thinks this is adequate conflict.

Sorry, I don't know where you going with this comment. The heartbreak hospital scene is the blueprint for all k-drama. It not only Sam-Soon or Lie To Me it's in every k-drama that was every written. Stop thinking this writer/drama don't have any originality when in all honest none of them do. K-drama is HUGE on remaking a plot to death and I let you in on a secret there are only 5 actor and actress that play parents in these drama, there goes your originality.

It disappointing that ppl can't enjoy Ah-Jung character or the natural skin ship that Lie to Me has capture. You talk about how it similar to other drama and implied the writer had no originality but I have to disagree there are a lots of originality. Ah-jung character is rare the way they continue to show the natural adult intimacy between Ah-jung and KJ is very, very very rare, no I take that back it has not been done before. It not just the kiss scene it the when feeding each other, how he look at her how she looks at him. They interaction as a whole is mature and refreshing and a delight to watch.

Today it's gloomy... :(
Yesterday it was so cute and fun ^_____^
Maybe it's just another different perpectives.
But 1 thing for sure this drama is way better than Baby Faced Beauty,I tried to watch BFB, but it's so boring, I stopped watching on ep 6 or something... (but idk why LTM rating is lower though???)
But anyway I still keep my hopes up for this drama.
I'll keep on watching!!! I like YEH & KJH!!!

I say I'm one of Lie To Me fans. I'm not disrespecting the post of the people who are wee capping Lie To Me but if you really don't have interest in Lie To Me please just drop this kdrama. Some people will just influence to hate Lie To Me, as what you say I'll post korean dram IF I like to. So if you don't like posting this drama please drop this. I respect all your opinion and comments, I really do but it just hurts people who love Lie to Me. Getting disappointed of wee cap. For haters of Lie to Me if you don't like the drama just drop the drama and don't say and say negative comments, if you don't like it just drop it you don't have to shout to all people that you hate this or hate that because you are just pissing people off. For those people who really do like Lie to Me I recommend Koala, she loves the drama and giving enjoyable recaps and comments that many people love it. If you gonna check all her recaps in Lie to Me, you will see no NEGATIVE comments there, I swear. Because of her love of the drama. So I suggest to the people who are wee capping this if you don't LOVE this drama please and please drop it, it just really hurting many people.

Aphrodite, I totally get what you mean about following the majority. I followed the majority into sam soon and was so glad I did, thats my number one! Then I followed the majority into msoan, thankfully I was smart enough to know that it was not going to work out with msoan. but point of they story is, everyone knows what thet like and hopefully is smart enough to do what they need to do and either continue or gtfo of there. I am not a lie to me lover. This was my most anticipated spring drama and it kinda left me hanging. I keep watching for the cute moments in the leads characters but ive pretty much given up from 4-11. Why do I read the wee caps? Im curious to see the chemistry between the leads and how my most anticipated spring drama ended up. Im currently skipping through every scene w/out our main leads. And for the ppl who arent satisfied with the wee caps, like you say, if you know you arent going to like what gf and db and santa says, dont read. Simple. Db and gf told us they didnt wanna recap it and offered options for us. I voted for the open thread as did countless others obviously. Open thread is here for everyone to spazz about how much they enjoyed it or how much they disliked it. I agree with you guys on the harsh comments like puke, vomit pee. as much as i love myself some jb and gf wit and insight, i don't take cues from them to like or dislike certain dramas. our opinions differ greatly. some of the ones they've ranked lower, i would rank up. some of the ones they've ranked higher, i would rank down. in fact, city hunter is meh for me. =D merely tolerable as an action-romance drama.

seriously though.. this show is terribly written.

so be it if there are some of you who like it, and some of us who don't, and have been hoping for an ounce of legitimate progress.

the whole "i lub you" thing is ridiculous. yeah right. it's almost as bad as the cringe worthy metaphor from yesterday's episode.

This is free world people, it's free to say something and it's up to some people if they get influence by hating or loving Lie to Me. For the fans of Lie to me, I know that if you hate another korean drama for sure you will say bad comments too so don't react to much, because we all just the same. Lie To Me is the ONLY May drama that leaves with a big smile on my face after watching it. A big smile that turns into frustration after coming onto this site and reading the recap (or rather weecap). I don't mind CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS, but when the comments are near bashing sugar coated by an attempt of humor, I don't find it funny. At all.

I've been following this site for several years now, and you usually write a lot of your thoughts at the end of the recap. I enjoy reading those comments for all of the other shows because even if they're negative, you analyse it well. You explain it sincerely and you back up your comments with constructive criticisms.

Anyway, I just don't understand why you can't find another recapper to do those weecaps. All of the other dramas have recappers who CLEARLY ENJOY the show that they are recapping. For example, yesterday's episode was really cute and had a lot of sweet moments between YEH and KJH, but as I was reading the weecap, it felt like the guest recapper (Santa Claus) didn't enjoy the episode. Or the show. A pleasant recap is one where we can feel the sincerity of the writer, because he/she LIKES the drama and the recap is a something that he/she does out of happiness.

Yes, I understand that this is your blog and you can write whatever you want, but as a reader I have a right for stating my own opinions and right now, I just feel that despite the good parts of the show, and its cuteness, all you can see are the bad parts. Lie To Me is very popular on the net and has a lot of fans. It wouldn't be THAT HARD to find someone who genuinely love this drama and would like to do the weecaps. Just out of respect for all the fans of this drama. All of the other recaps out here on your site are oozing of love, but this one just has hate, hate and more hate. Just saying.

My suggestion is to stop complaining that cotton candy has no nutritional value people...or that your at the carnival while eating it ;)

Early on, I chose to accept Lie to Me for the drama that it is and since doing so I've enjoyed it immensely. It's a fun straight forward romantic comedy and it's not horrible like so many people say. Honestly, I think the people who rag the most on the show don't watch it and even if they do it's only to look specifically for things to make fun of.

KJH and YEH are really great actors (a number of seasoned actors too) and every once in a while they have really great scenes in Lie to Me. Like in Ep 12 when Ki joon tells Ah jung to tell him everything that's going on with her - its a totally cheesy unrealistic line that men never say (common in kdrama land), but KJH acted it out with such sincerity it genuinely made me smile :) It was such a sweet moment. Also there was lots of romance and cute interaction in the episode...

Anyway I just want to say that I enjoy and support Lie to Me. Others shouldn't shy away from enjoying this drama for what it is just because of the negativity in the Open Thread comments.

kang ji hwan needs guidance in picking a good quality project that ensure popularity and high ratings, maybe another hong sisters drama? I absolutely loved coffee house but that one had low ratings and went unnoticeable by the korean viewers. Well ratings don't matter to me as long as I like it but I care for kjh and i want him to be happy :( not that I know he's sad right now or anything....

LTM is way in front as far as the mysoju rankings is concerned and this has been the case for weeks now.

2nd is Romance Town; 3rd is City Hunter;

Putting Miss Ripley on 12th.

So, to all the anti LTM's, most of you must just be on this thread because the general population thinks otherwise.

Enjoy whatever drama you're watching and

KANG AHHHHHHHH................Saranghe!

I like LTM. Just for the fun of it.

I don't like this weecap of LTM. The tone of sarcasm is a killjoy. I'd rather just watch & decide for myself.

Some who love to hate & keep watching must have the swallow my own puke feelings or spill my stinky gut for all to share.

I'd rather spend my time reading an enjoyable weecap/recap than a sarcastic peecap.

Fans, anti fans, the media, netizens contibute to the making & breaking public figure. There are those who want bring down a drama by posting all kinds of hate remarks just because they thrive on other people's misery. They are also fans of dramas they want to keep on top.

There are haters who are responsible for the demise of some showbiz who fell victim to the hate campaign. Is their conscience clear when that happens? Maybe not...they just move on to another victim.

I am a LTM LOVER!!!! and yes! everybody have different opinions, but I think that the recaps HAVE TO BE OBJECTIVE. Bloggers: you can add your thoughts without murdering the drama itself... and as one of my favorite blogs says: Talk about a drama if you want to...
If you guys hate LTM this much, don´t do recaps!

Yes yes yes! OBJECTIVITY—that's the key word most people here are missing about why some of us are unhappy with the writers of this blog!

And if you dislike what they are writing so much, than don't read it. Skip their weecaps of LTM. Because your complaining of the recaps isn't much different than someone complaining about the drama.

The recaps are supposed to be made for fans of the show. The way that I see it, this thread is more like the playground for the anti-fans to pour their heart out and bash this drama. They shouldn't call this the Lie To Me: Open Thread, but rather the Lie To Me : Anti Thread.

If I got the choice to go back in time and choose again in JB's poll for Lie To Me, I would rather see them just stop with the recaps/weecaps/open threads.

I remember the JB said that GF and her would stop recapping Lie To Me and I respect that, but they were considering the idea of an open thread for fans to discuss the show, but this thread is seriously turning into a big joke and I can't imagine how Kang Ji Hwan and Yoon Eun Hye would feel if they come across this site. Sigh. And to think that JB and GF supposely like KJH and YEH. Some of you might not feel like I do about this, but personnaly, I think that this thread is totally not respecting the hard work that KJH and YEH are doing right now. Their acting is really good in this drama and the chemistry is amazing between them. Why not show them a little bit more love?

The recaps are not written for the fans of the show. If you're a writer you'll know that you first write for yourself, to express your thoughts and opinions. If someone reads your work, whether they appreciate it or not, then that's a bonus. JB is not doing anyone a favor by going the fanservice route. I would definitely not like it if she'll do that as some recappers do. I like her because even if she says things I don't want to hear and don't like to admit, in the end I realize that what she says is true no matter how much I disagree in the first place.

And if you're truly a fan then you're not doing your idols a favor by supporting them in works that are crappy. It's like telling them it's alright for them to do crappy shows because the fans will still be there. That it's okay to accept poorly written scripts because the fans will still love it. They may be working hard right now, but wouldn't it be nice if they work hard at something better? I'm also a fan (of some actress, actor, idol groups) but I don't support them all the time if the work that they do is not good.

Lie to me is awesome. The director presented the scenes as they should be…. simple and direct without embellishments . Korean tv viewers seem to be lost in this drama because of the absence of twists and turns subplots and sub characters diversions which are the daily fare of most Korean dramas. In Lie to me you have to savor the chemistry and acting of the main characters. YEH and KJH raise romance to a high level it leaves you giddy and thirsty for more. The way KJ courts AJ is the dream of many woman and KJH does it very well! For all, just enjoy Lie to me as a rare romance drama of YEH and KJH. Just enjoy, as trite as it may seem, love is a many-splendored YEH and KJH!

JB, Thank you for the weecap. I like it after reading it again. Its ok. I always prefer your recaps. My comments was influenced by some clucking headless chooks! Ooops! headless...but they can still cluck!

I'm still enjoying LTM.

Woah...no need to get personal, yo....

JB just has her opinions of the show and I guess like many others have written, if you don't like reading them, move on to another site. She's doing the weecaps for the fans who have requested it. And anyway, for some of us, we ACTUALLY agree with her snarky comments, and enjoy reading them.

Bottom line, it's her site and she can do whatever she wants. So, chill...

You go, JB! ;)

JB, why not recap or weecap one that you'd rather enjoy writing about.

LTM has a beautiful romance going on between KJ & AJ. They are still sizzling...that keeps me watching LTM with joy. No hate or sarcastic remarks can take that away from me. So fans of LTM.

Honestly, I don't really understand why people get so worked up about these weecaps/recaps. It's just a damn drama, people. Some like it, others don't. Get over it, and if you love it and take remarks on its imperfections as personal attacks then don't read these entries or the comments. It's gonna be better for everyone.
I, personally, enjoy the weecaps as this is the way I usually watch dramas, even if I love one I surely won't let its flaws remain unnoticed.

One more thing I just don't get it when people say “please respect this drama etc etc”. Are we talking about the country or something?

For the record I like Cinderella Sister and The World They Lived In. And I don't like You're Beautiful and Boys Before Flower ;) And I always love Santa and I'm not even Christian.

it's true that writing recaps includes side comments from the writer which is always welcoming and amusing but when the writer starts writing doom/hate endlessly, the objectivity disappears. and when some respond liking LTM, some starts ranting and going out of bounds. Kdramas are not kosher blessed by a rabbi, in this case those who thinks they know more than the other (which is debatable). Like in any other story, it's ones preference. Do not castigate others simply bcoz you don't like a kdrama, it's hurtful, below the belt and irresponsible. Comments are ok but going beyond what's reasonable sets logic nowhere. let's be civilized.

btw, Okoala has always maintained positive and never have read her negate this site or its writers ever! so reading a comment that said otherwise just shows the netizen does not really know what he/she is talking about. just saying.

Lie to Me is still a good kdrama worth watching.

I have friends from different countries who like this drama and many of them want entertainment (for relief) after study/work. Some sort of story with beautiful/attractive and acting lead characters.

We are not Koreans but we learned a lot about Korea and culture through these dramas. Main common thing among the korean drama admirers (foreigners) is we like Yoon Eun Hye (from her songs, dances, X-man, dramas movies, CFs and more from her behaviour). Whenever a new episode is released we look for recap as we want to understand the episode. We donot bother what the writer`s comments are, how sarcastic the writer comments, other comments etc. We like YEH acting skills and we watch her dramas irrespective of comments.

Many dramas we donot watch though there is a story/popular actors as we do not like them. We dont even read recaps and comment there.

I am surprised why some read recaps and whine unnecessarily. Instead they can watch their favourite actors/shows.

Ben

I guess I don't understand all the requests for "objectivity" from recaps here or on any other sites.

I mean, isn't a blog created for the specific purpose of posting one's thoughts or opinions? If you want objectivity, go to... I don't know... Fox News (always fair and balanced ;) ) [And before you jump all over me for saying that, I don't think any other news outlets in the US are any more objective than Fox... they're just easy to pick on because of their slogan.]

I think people post online to feel heard and understood, to feel that someone gets where they're coming from, and to feel that someone can identify with them. So whatever your opinion, it's validating to be able to express that freely, and know that others are hearing you.

Oh, and my little dig at Fox News isn't as gratuitous as it might seem (apologies to the non-Americans here who may not get my references, BTW). I think a lot of people these days (me included) tend to seek out sources of news and opinions and information that confirm and validate what they already think. It's, I don't know, viscerally (and sometimes intellectually) satisfying to hear your thoughts and opinions stated and validated by others, right?

My thoughts exactly. This is a personal blog, for personal opinions. JB and GF only choose to publish their opinions. If people are looking for objectivity, they should go to a news web page, and good luck finding it there.

God! Show really makes people angry...

The funny thing is the more the haters hate Show, and burst a vein in the process, the more the supporters love it. This is EPIC.

Oh, and lust? I've had many meaningful relationships based on less. *wink wink*

I thought Lie To Me was going to be the biggest drama of May but for me it ended up being an average drama, nothing new but still enjoyable.I guess a lot of people had high expectations for this and the dissapointment has left a bitter taste. Although I've only watched up until episode 8 I can see why some people love it but at the moment there are 4 other dramas I'm enjoying more than Lie To Me so I've kind of given up on it for now.

Anyway just wanted to say thanks for the weecaps they are so funny and witty.

By the way what all this demand for objectivity in a blog about opinions?

I think the ranters demanding "an objective" recap, and those that bash JB and supposed LTM haters, are just one person under different names. From the writing style, IT's even replying to ITs own comment. And IT's also changing ITs name (but same message) on the different ltm OTs. IT's taking the weecaps and rants too personally.

I think JB's weecaps are as objective as she can be as the drama stands. I could think of worse things she could have said, but I don't see how she could have said better things about it. It's not as if the other recappers of LTM are objective in their blogs. Too much luuurve and those that criticize feels that they couldn't freely comment there for fear of rabid vitriol from LTM fans (like IT up there). People who are disappointed feel they can say they're disappointed here more freely than in any other blogs that's all. That's why you see most of them here I guess. Can't imagine going to soompi, allkpop, etc to comment against LTM.

When it comes to opinions, there is no objectivity. Never was, never will.
Simply because their opinions is based on different taste, way of thinking, personal experiences, values, etc, etc.

As I have write, I am actually a fan of LTM. And No, I don't even find it a nosensial drama (Cliche ? yes) .

BUT, I cannot ask about objectivity about how people VIEW things from their own eyes. Its simply idiotic.
We should all have to accept, that people think different from us.
Why its so hard?

I think this weecap/recap is a total failure of Dramabeans
blog, because everywhere people are fighting. There is no fun anymore if we start posting criticism and deconstructive comments. Keeping silence is much better for those who do not like the drama. Posting negative comments are actually bad and reflects your personality as a sick and pathetic person.

Just my pt of view.
