Choi Ji-woo back in dramaland as a lawyer

Choi Ji-woo, the actress whose face practically defines Hallyu (along with, oh, Lee Young-ae and Bae Yong-joon and a handful of others), has announced her next drama. (Well, again. She’d announced a different drama comeback earlier this year.)

It’ll be an MBC series to air later this summer, titled (for now) Can’t Lose. She stars as one-half of a lawyer couple in the midst of divorce (what is it with drama divorcées these days? They’re the new careerwoman, who were the new Candys, who were the new Cinderellas), with events unfolding with a “warm, light touch.”

Choi’s Eun-jae character is a skilled, tough lawyer, described by Choi as “charming and lovable.” Now the question is: Who plays hubby dearest? Reports hint that there’s another popular Hallyu star being courted to play the male lead, who’s in the latter stages of the casting process. If he’s on a similar level (and age range) as Choi, that leaves a pretty finite list of possibilities, although it seems that every day another actor gets to stretch the term and call himself a budding Hallyu star. Hmm… Song Seung-heon? Jung Woo-sung? Kwon Sang-woo?

The drama will follow current Wednesday-Thursday series You’ve Fallen For Me, and premieres in August.

And Lee Byung Hung makes a surprise cameo appearance to steal her away. PWNAGE in 2011!!

ok...so SUE me. I don't feel the same way the crowd does about Choi Ji Woo. I won't apologize either. While I enjoyed Winter Sonata and understand it's significance it is not a oooohhh drama for me. I am a BYJ fan and honestly, I do hope it's not him, I would much prefer a separate drama. Also I hope it's not CHASEUNGWON, I don't know, I just can't see it.
I will watch for this drama, I like seeing the non idol, teeny boppers do their thing and even though CJW is not in my top 5 or 10 for that matter, again I am enjoying the 'mature' folks who deliver more often than not.

One more vote for Lee Jung Jae. They have very good chemistry in Air City. I really wish to see them together.

But LJJ is busy with the movie "The Thieves"; he may not have time to act in the drama.

It might be Kwon Sang Woo. I loved her more after seeing her in 1N2D she is so lovable and lively. She was my first koren actress l saw in the drama, was addicted to her dramas, the older ones Winter Sonata & Stairways to Heaven.

All of you got wrong! It's Yoon Sang Hyun. he he....He acted with Kim Nam Ju in Housewives and Secret garden. Is he a big hallyu star now? He sings well, he is funny. As for grading to pair with the top actress, which level will he be in? I don't know.

ha ha.. talking of choosing a male lead just because CJW is a famous halyu star,.... let alone BYJ, even other branded names won't accept the offer 'after' the female lead. K drama system has male must be the first to announce, then only male lead will decide which female lead he want to work with. Not the other way round. If BYJ wants to make a drama with CJW he will announce with her together as he has had done before. Not after CJW...

If you said was true that the male lead gets to pick and announce first, then why CJW's last two dramas (this one and Star's Lover) it was she the one who announced first?
Because she's a bigger star than YSH and YJT?

I figured that it couldn't be a top Hallyu star for her partner, because they don't need CJW to make them famous. They have established their own name. I thought it might be a newbie or someone who's starting to make his name. YSH has been after the Japanese market in the past few years, as such, it's appropriate to partner with Ji Woo hime to further his stardom

Personally, don't really care for YSH, he is annoyingly funny. Ehh...not sure if I'll watch.

You asked and you answered . Of course CJW is bigger than the current male actor. YJT or YSH.. ha.. too many Ys.. they may have made their own name like everyone does. But for CJW, ask her fans. She is above all other queens. At least taller by 6 cm, ha ha..Look at the A list queen trend. to name a few, Ko Hyun Jung, Lee Young Ae( resting at the moment), Sohn Yoon A, more or less her age group , they announced first before the male lead.
I'll watch it , it will be funny.
