True. MY might have vented his anger on his stepchild YS when raising him which would be a different plot altogether. And its not like JP wasn't good from the beginning. He seemed pretty nice in Episode 1.

So the Prez is Yoon-Sung's real dad. His mom was layin' down all kinds of coo for the Prez whilst married to another dude. His Evil Dad kidnapped him and raised him for the sole purpose that he'd become his personal pawn. Ahjussi loves him dearly, but he lied on Nana' parents to save his own butt. Dude. Does Yoon-Sung have anyone in his life that has clean hands? Oh yeah, that's right--Nana. But he pushed her away and is feeding her with a big, sexy, long-handled spoon. Aigoo...

While the birth twist makes for an interesting plot, it (unfortunately) gives me a more-than-slightly different view of Yoon-Sung's mama. Me no like cheaters.

The mirror scene? Fan-freakin'-tastically brilliant. Huzzah and a half to whomever came up with the concept.

Straight up: the prosecutor is on my last nerve. There is something very...irritating about his self-righteousness. Where was that same smugness when you harbored Big Bad Daddy's secret for 10 years, eh? Dude, you have to work all that angst out on your own, 'kay? Just go aye-ee-waaaaay.

GF you said everything that I feel about Jin Pyo ( my beloved Appa, Ajhussi) and his and SY's relationship. I find their twisted father/son relationship to be one of the most fascinating aspect of the show. For all his faults and somewhere behind the revenge, survivor's guilt, etc, etc...there is a tiny beating heart and in it; he does care and love SY and see him as a son and not just a possession. I wouldn't be too sad if he died in the end, but as you said it has to be for the right reasons.

I mean seriously. I don’t know if it’s an ode to patriarchy or a death note to it. Is it wrong if I still want Jin-pyo to be Dad in the end? Even if he dies? For once I want a drama to say, “blood is not the end all be all.”

These are my exact sentiments.

Poor guy it's all I can say :(
His revenge was pointless in the first place anyways if it's just for his father's death, because, really, his "father" is not really his father. And the poor child's final target-to-be-kill will be his biological dad?! Wahhhhh------Kdrama (sigh*).

I guess it is not shocking to have this birth secret thing...it was sort of hinted. and it is a little boring and overused in Korean dramas. At the same time, it makes it more understandable as to why Jin Pyo kidnapped him as a baby and brought him up in this manner. If he was really Mu Yeol's kid, I think it would have been different....

Oh the birth secret actually means the character progressions make a lot more sense..

I always wondered how illogical Jinpyo acted when taking revenge, because it was pretty lame if the only reason behind his "revenge even if i kill ys!!" attitude was he went mad.

But seeing as Ys is the presidents son, you can understand why Jinpyo acted the way he did, and i guess you can see him struggling to keep his distance between YS, because he knows he is raising him up to die or as a weapon. So desperately trying to become emotionally detached from YS, and obviously failing.

Also daehye = YS's younger sister now. haha how weird. but i guess their relationship was always a dongseng oppa one.

And that last scene..... If jinpyo had pulled out the SWORD?!?!! then he wouldve easily won that fight... but no. they choose to have him fight with his stick =____=.

TOTALLY. all his scenes have been so repetitive lately. talking to himself at the office or having the SAME conversation with CH about how he knows he's the CH. with the same look on his face. face pointed to the ground but eyes looking up.

I loved that mirror scene too!!!That was a very good idea! And City Hunter is so clever to trick the other guy with the mirror!!!
The drama is so well-directed and I like the photography as well!

Thanks for the recap Javaneans! I 've enjoyed reading all your "almost in- live" comments on these episodes of City Hunter!!!

lol if he's always there, it means he's doing his job right.
I'm not fond of his obsession with CH either but he's trying to piece together 3 different cases and doing a pretty good job of it.
I'm just glad that he's not the incompetent 2nd lead prosecutor that any other kdramas portray!
