We’ve got posters and character promo stills out for SBS’s Protect the Boss, and I have to say that this drama is slowly growing on me with what appears to be an offbeat, wacky vibe. It just may be quirky enough to work.
I wasn’t initially too enthralled by the chaebol hero and the boss-secretary setup (Ji Sung and Choi Kang-hee, respectively), but this looks like no typical K-drama setup, and no typical chaebol. Instead of being the coolly perfect businessman we’ve become so familiar with in dramas, this hero’s kooky and eccentric, while she literally kicks ass. The plot unfolds as she undertakes Project Tame The Errant Boss, and romance ensues.
The poster above takes on the bodyguard concept, which is made funnier by the implication that Choi Kang-hee is shielding her boss from work. Given that Ji Sung’s character is an inept boss, no doubt he considers that protection. Heh.
Acting as spoilers are Jaejoong as Ji Sung’s rival cousin and diametric opposite — he’s sharp, smart, and competent — and Wang Ji-hye as a lawyer and secondary love interest.
The drama premieres on August 3, following City Hunter.

Ji Sung in a comedy! Wow, have to get my mind around that. Have only seen him in dramas and action stuff and must admit I do love him…. a lot! Save the last dance; Swallow the Sun and Royal Family, to name only a few. Am really looking forward to this.
If you had seen Ji Sung in New Heart, or fairly early on in Kim Soo Ro, you wouldn’t doubt his ability to take on a comedy.

I’m a fan of them for so long..and most of the people know after JJ acted in SNN (Japanese drama) improved alot his japanese language becoming the best amont TVXQ5 members. He has so many japanese friends and even Ueno Juri help him to become better at japanese.
Also after that drama he become the most popular member in TVXQ5 in Japan..well he always was popular but after SNN the GAP increased alot, you can talk about mixi rank, and i can talk about twitter Japan how he always is ranking 2nd just before AKB48, and he didn’t have solo activities on screen or stage after 1 year. Also there are plenty japanese polls were only JJ appeared ranking high. He even appeared on the cover of ANAN Magazine…
In korea let’s see what it happens after JJ start his solo activities…sometimes i think some fans feel treated seeing how JJ is so popular everywhere…:P….I can keep saying more stuffs but I will finish here.

Don’t want to get tangled in the arguments above re JJ’s hotness, but he’s extremely popular in Japan. Dare I say, moreso than in Korea. Regardless of country, though, I thought he was overall within top 3 in popularity within DBSK/TVXQ. From what I recall, he used to rank within top 5 on practically all polls conducted regarding hotness, attractiveness, want-as-boyfriend, etc.
While Micky Yoochun looks so very Korean, JJ looks more Japanese than Korean, IMO. He doesn’t make my heart pound, but he is extremely sexy in an anime hero kind of way, and good lord, when he bares his tats? * splat *
If you look up one of those year-end music programs where DBSK/TVXQ performed Mirotic (back in 2008 was it?) you’ll know what I mean re the baring of hot upper back (for all 5 boys). Super hot.
As for acting, I only saw him in Heaven’s Postman, which wasn’t great, but not because of his acting. I thought he did a good job for his debut as an actor.

For me it was a very touching movie that grew on me.

Han Hyo Joo is a very good actress and Jaejoong has potential (i believe it was his first). I’ve seen also Blossom MV of Ayumi Hamasaki and i was surprise on Jaejoong’s acting.
