Here’s some more news on The Client, the courtroom suspense movie with three big stars anchoring the three components of the taut thriller: prosecutor, defense attorney, and the client. And judging from these stills, they’re lookin’ good.
A surefire way to make sure we get the maximum conflict out of this triangle is to cast leading men capable of equal intensity and gravitas, which you get with Ha Jung-woo (The Chaser), Jang Hyuk (Midas), and Park Hee-soon (Barefoot Dream). Throw in a scene-stealing supporting star — delightfully bizarre Sung Dong-il (Chuno, My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho) — and you’ve got a must-see lineup.
Jang Hyuk is the suspect in a murder case without a body, who is represented by Ha Jung-woo. Presenting a fierce opposing case is prosecutor Park Hee-soon, which leads to intense legal clashing as both lawyers put forth vastly differing arguments. The film promises to keep audiences guessing all the way to its unpredictable verdict.
The Client is reportedly the first Korean courtroom thriller to land on movie screens, which suggests that the majority of the action will be set in the trial itself. That means the acting and psychological warfare between the two sides will provide most of the conflict, which could be pretty compelling given solid writing. A Korean-style A Few Good Men? I can dig it. Now all they need is to come up with a catchphrase on par with “You can’t handle the truth!” and they’re all set.
The Client has been set for a late September release.

JANGHYUK HOORAY…LOVE UR HAIR STYLE IN MIDAS.
I have the sensation that Midas is alive again
Jang hyuk is such a workoholic. He goes from project to project. He’s so lovable ^^
LOVE the clean shaved look on Park Hee Soon and Jang Hyuk….men all look yummy in suits *quickly adds to watch list of movies*
I like PHS here, too! He’s definitely one of my favorites–sure, he’s no outright heart throb, but man does he do wonders in everything he’s in. He was in Hansel and Gretel, yeah? So creepy.
YAY for Ha Jung-woo!
Please, please let the writing be stellar to go along with the stellar cast!
Who’s the female lead??? Still, I’m going to look forward for this….I love challenging movie~
i kind of… don’t want a female lead. i’d rather the action focuses on the three men, with two of them slugging it out in the courtroom. it’d be so intense if it’s done right, and so hot!
I love courtroom thrillers and mysteries and right– it just occurred to me that i’ve yet to see Korea take on the genre. This is going to be awesome; the cast is extra icing! I can’t wait to see~ hope it does well!
“Now all they need is to come up with a catchphrase on par with “You can’t handle the truth!” and they’re all set.”
what about “the truth will set you free…. but first it will make you miserable” ….. hehehehe
i never realized jang hyuk had two different sized eyes until now.
yes he does, if you watch Chuno, you may noticed it in one or two scenes when he was shouting and rather intense.
jang hyuk looks so hot!
now, this is the movie I’m going to anticipate, mind battle. there’s always something about brilliant men having psychological battle..
Oooooo…..Hotties in suits, plus intelligent dialogue?!
I’m in!
Park Hee-soon is playing a lawyer, not a creepy guy (uh-uh-uh, killer, uh-uh-uh), while Jang-hyuk is probably a bad guy =D
Ha Jung-woo!!!!
he’s the first one on my top-list actors. not only between Korean actors but as world-wide actors.
what a charisma and big talent ^^
jang hyuk hairstyle…., like the rest all k-pop boyband hairstyle and with this hairstyle he is still good and more look young than his actual age.
Okay I gotta check up the movie, sounds interesting
omo, omo, what a cast! i think the 3 actors are quite charismatic and very good in acting
Jang Hyuk casting as the suspect fits him to a T, he can convey his feelings just brooding in the courtroom chair without saying a word
HJW – i fell in love with him in the HIT kdrama. At first i was thinking why he’s the lead when he’s not even good looking, then when as the drama progresses, i find myself hopelessly falling in love with his character. I hope he will do another kdrama
PSH – another favorite actor of mine. This is the first time i’ve seen him so spick and span =)
I will surely wait and watch out for this film, even if it takes a year before it goes to the net. And i just hope the subs will be true to what’s being said. No lost in translation.
I love JHyuk ; he is like Midas , turning anything into gold ! The two others look so good ; what else ?
Who is the director?
Good solid cast and Ha Jung-woo’s works never disappoint.
I pray to God never to be in front of Jang Hyuk because I think I would spontaneously self-combusted. His mesmerizing gaze combine with that sexy smirk…. Arrggh I’m going crazy.
I swear, I don’t know how he does it. He may not be the tallest man in the room, but when he is in front of another man, it seems as he is looking down on them (and I don’t mean contemptuously, just that he looks taller that the other person). Just watch him in any drama were the second lead is taller than him.
Maybe is my star filled eyes that are playing a trick on me. *sigh*
Definitely one of my favorite men in the whole universe.
Ok, I’ll stop now…
Oh right, the movie, looks interesting… will watch it.
i’ve been waiting for another ha jung woo project! ^__^ all three men are brilliant, and sung dong il rocks my socks. i can’t wait to see this.
Park Hee-soon looks fine!
I can’t wait for this. My hopes are high.
ha jung woo and jang hyuk?! definitely watching it!
I just came down to read this and OMG JANG HYUK AND HA JUNG-WOO IS IN THE SAME MOVIE?! In my head they look the same even though I’m pretty sure they’re totally different. Anyways, even though I’m not the thriller type of person, I might actually watch this considering these two are on.
