The Script Doctor is in: Myung-wol the Spy
girlfriday: Wait is KBS really going to recast a different actress in the SAME role?? javabeans: That’s DUMB. I understand why they’d consider it, but it’s lame. girlfriday: It is so stupid. Arrrgh. Bow, the Ultimate Weapon takes first place at the box office
This summer’s seen a number of strong films, at least box-office-performance-wise. (Sector 7, for instance, has been largely panned for its story but has been racking up the ticket sales. Others that have enjoyed solid numbers include explosion-laden Quick with Lee Min-ki, and the Korean War blockbuster The Front Line.) Joining those films is sageuk... More »

Siwon tweets from Poseidon shoot
Admittedly, this isn’t much in the way of news or updates on Poseidon, which hasn’t released very much info since finalizing its cast v.2.0. But at least it’s something — series lead Choi Siwon tweeted the above photo on the 15th, alongside comedian and Poseidon co-star Park Sung-kwang, to congratulate the latter on his birthday.... Scent of a Woman: Episode 8
I think before this episode, the tango was a stand-in, a euphemism for a lot of things, but there are no longer any spaces to read between the lines now. An acting family emerges with the “Ron Sisters”
Holy crap, there are THREE of them? Korea’s well on its way to establishing its own acting family dynasty with these three youngsters. And here I thought 11-year-old Kim Sae-ron was a marvel all on her own, but it turns out she has two younger sisters with equally big acting aspirations. When it was just... More »

Running Man: Episode 55
The boys’ hearts are aflutter this episode with not just two but FOUR female guests to leave their cheeks rosy. It’s a throwback episode to high school and the air is thick with nostalgia from the games to the food. New love is created for some; hearts are broken for others. The chase is sure... More »

Scent of a Woman: Episode 7
For a drama that operates on a very predictable premise — we know not only the trajectory of the events but can also anticipate the various obstacles and triumphs Yeon-jae will face — Scent of a Woman does a damn good job of keeping us engaged and on the hook for more. The overall arc... More »

Han Jung-soo joins the cast of Poseidon
Actor Han Jung-soo, known for being the good-guy second lead in Prosecutor Princess or the hot guy with abs in Chuno, (er…the other one, no the other other one, yeah that one) has been cast in the upcoming maritime police drama Poseidon, opposite Choi Siwon and Lee Shi-young. So… that pretty much seals it, right?... More »
