Ha Ji-won researches beauty in London

Ah, London…how do I miss thee. Afternoon Broadway shows at Picadilly Circus, window shopping at the coolest shops, the history and culture… Too bad their food never made it to my “like” list. (I still have nightmares about my run-in with the duck liver pizza. The horror!)
Luckily, the city has more going for it than the reputation for its less-than-desirable food menu. London is known for being trendy and fashion-forward, so it makes sense that cable network Style Magazine has chosen that locale for their research spot on beauty trends. Ha Ji-won has been seen walking around the streets of London in the past month, gathering data for her piece. I guess Style Magazine knew what they were thinking by asking Ha Ji-won to take this on: She’s gorgeous, feminine and sexy. (Let’s just say that her leather costume in Secret Garden made me get my yoga dvd out… and even do 5 minutes of the thing before quitting.)
Ha Ji-won arrived in London on September 15th and busily visited research facilities such as Oil of Olay and popular beauty shops. She even directly interviewed women in the streets to find out about the latest beauty trends.
Ha Ji-won’s results on her beauty trend research can be seen on Style Magazine, shown on the On Style cable network, in October.

Oh, wait - was it really FOIE GRAS pizza? Cause you know that a fancy name on a food product totally disguises what's really in it.
Yeah, right.
Liver is liver, no matter what it's called.
Yuck.
I'm so distracted by the whole nasty pizza thing that I can't even bring myself to comment on the article...

I shuttered when I read this -- liver on pizza, only for the stout of heart -- is liver edible.
But, isn't foie gras from goose liver? Not that it matters....let the fowl keep their liver. I grew up in a family that loved liver -- so don't get me going; I've tried and tried it, but it's still gross in my opinion.
And to the topic. . . Ha Ji-won, sure wish Sector 7 aired in more cities in the USA, I'd have a 6 hour drive to LA to see this, but it looks like a good one.

I've had very tasty duck liver pate. I'm not sure how healthy that was, I'm guessing not very because it was delish.

I've had cow -liver and I cant say I love it but it was good with curry. I had to eat it once a week cause I was anemic.

in the philippines, nothing is wasted so i grew up eating duck liver, chicken liver, pig liver, cow liver...but i've never tasted foie gras from other countries

I have to say, Foie Gras (yeah, "duck liver" makes it sound so much less appealing) is actually really, really, reaaaaally GOOD. Especially on brioche toasts, with a tad bit of fig jam.
But, French as I am, I hereby declare it a heresy to put it on a pizza. You don't mix up Foie Gras and Pizzas, for crying out loud. It's like having a Caviar Burger at McDonald's.

I eat what some people deem gross (i.e. fritanga) but I would never eat a duck liver pizza. Just sounds narly man. I once ate a clam pizza. Thats as exotic as I'll get with my pizza.

Ah... was served foie gras at the restaurant in 63 Building, Seoul ten years back. Definitely dampened the romantic setting. Too bad I'm not one to appreciate it.

I've never seen Duck Liver Pizza and nor would I be silly enough to order it xD you have to be selective about what you choose on a menu in London, I'll admit *shame*

Anyway, back to Ha Ji Won, yes yes. Very pretty - wish I could have bumped into her for an interview, though she's far more stylish than the average girl on the street! And London's about a year late with all the fashion trends I see in K-dramas

I love London and I must say there aren't that many people dressed fashionably (with latest trend) on the street.
I once put on a pair of sunglasses with white frame (ok..it was the trend at that time) and people were looking at me like 'she's so out of place....'. It was a funny encounter and I had to remind myself that this is not the most fashionable place. :)

Not sure where they got that pizza from but it aint British - although, actually we don't really have a cuisine of our own as such, we just pinch others and put our own spin on it.....

2 favourites: Ha Ji Won and London would be almost too much for my little heart to bear.
Not only for London but the food is always dismal in tourists areas of all big cities.
But walk around and you'll find Moro, The Table Café and Franco Manca - affordable and delicious. London has the best curries anywhere out of Mumbai.

Ooooh come on you guys London is cosmopolitan enough to host haute cuisine from all over the world. So if some one doesn't find the appeal in fish and chips they can do their tandoori or chinese take away or wonderful dishes from the caribbean.....And Britons are known for trying out anything and not backing off anything that might sound unsavoury. So foie gras pizza not to your liking? I went bonkers when I saw americans take a full gulp of something electric pink called pepto something. How could they I wondered....

The only thing good is fish and chips and beer.
I did find some good Chinese food and kebabs but sadly, nothing else is really appetizing.

so, here's the deal. I'm a believer of trying anything once. Especially when it comes to food...ergo the name, sassychef. Well, the chef part, at least. And I used to be a huge lover of fois gras, until a special I saw on Travel Channel, and I decided to support Daffy Ducks of the world, rather than consume them. The now infamous pizza was before my Daffy Duck crusade days when my adventurous British friend urged me to try it. Hmmm... not my cup of tea is all I will say about that.
To all those that was offended by that comment, I apologize. but come on! It's liver pizza no matter which way you bake it up. shudder...

Huge fan of liver (chicken liver feuilleté, or with peppercorn sauce on a bed or caramelized onions) but pizza should have no meat.
Super thin crust, a bit of olive oil, some herbs, maybe olives and, if in the mood, an anchovy or two.
Anything more than that is, as my grandmother would say, barbaric. Just mention American pizzas and she starts hyper-ventilating.

I live in the UK and have been to London countless times and never heard of Liver and Onion pizza O.O lolz!!!! I don't eat anything offal its gross to me, I know a lot of people like it though... as for the fashion you can wear anything in London and not get noticed I have seen people with towering spikes of pink hair (they, might get noticed :P)... I say that because I read someone got noticed for their sunglasses lolz personally I would never take note of someone's sunglasses.
Also a lot of the UK population is more into setting its own fashion than following fashion. If you walk around London you find a lot of people wearing alternative clothes and retro clothes, I find it very inspiring. If I had money I would go retro haha. But for now I will stick to my knee high purple boots, colourful tights and denims XDDDD so yeah maybe we're not the best country for fashion, unless you go down the expensive streets. Personally I have never followed fashion, most of the time I don't like it and usually its expensive.

London has some of the best restaurants around, if u know where to find them. It surely more to offer than duck liver pizza or mediocre Tim sum in Chinatown. Also, HJW looked a tad overdressed next to those two ladies in their summer working clothes....who's her stylist I wonder???
