Poseidon releases posters
by | September 14, 2011 | 88 Comments
Upcoming maritime police drama Poseidon, aka Baywatch-meets-Cops, has released its posters. They decided on the super serious vibe, which I think was a mistake in the boring direction, but at least the faces are damned pretty. I’m pretty sure it’s the same font as Athena too, which is a step in the wrong direction, association-wise.... More »

The Vampires come to television
by | September 13, 2011 | 58 Comments
Yup, Vampires, as in more than one. We’ve talked about Vampire Prosecutor before, but there’s another show in the works — a sitcom this time — called Vampire Idol. Can there be singing and judges? First, the version we know about. OCN’s series Vampire Prosecutor, starring Yeon Jung-hoon (Jejoongwon, East of Eden) as the titular... More »

CGV produces a TV version of Bang-ja Chronicles
by | September 13, 2011 | 14 Comments
Cable movie channel CGV recently had a hit with their edgy and stylized Girl K, which I’ve been enjoying, and now they’re producing another “original TV movie,” which will likewise broadcast in multiple episodes like a mini-drama series. This one is Bang-ja Chronicles, which is also the name of the hit ero-sageuk film from last... More »

by | September 12, 2011 | 117 Comments
With Scent of a Woman having wrapped up over the weekend, it’s managed to raise the profiles of its two stars — or, should I say, re-raise, since Kim Sun-ah and Lee Dong-wook were successful leading actors before as well. But as is the case with many a well-received, heart-warming TV series, what we’re left... More »

Scent of a Woman: Episode 16 (Final)
by | September 11, 2011 | 259 Comments
It’s the end of the road, and time for Yeon-jae to say her goodbyes and tie up all her loose ends. Normally I loathe finales that are a lineup of all the players, saying goodbye like a checklist, but when you’re talking about going to the big dance floor in the sky, everything takes on... More »
